Gun-Wielding Police Torment Woman, Say They Used Flock Wrong

A Wisconsin woman was mistakenly arrested at gunpoint — twice — after police failed to remove her wrongly flagged vehicle from the Flock surveillance system.

Flock cameras flagged Amber Newell’s car in connection with a homicide case that she was not involved in back in July. The Milwaukee Police Department (MPD) told FOX 6 that a department employee failed to remove Newell’s car from the Flock system, keeping the wanted-vehicle alert in place.

The error led to two separate incidents in which Newell was arrested at gunpoint and her car impounded by authorities, according to CBS 58.

“It was very embarrassing because after they put us in cuffs, they walked us to the car. I don’t know what’s going on. I’m scared. All you see is people in their cars recording,” Newell, a resident of Brookfield, Wisconsin, said.

The “nightmare” ordeal also cost Newell her job, she said.

Two Employees Die Of ‘Airport Malaria,’ Officials Try To Calm Fears

Mosquitoes carried into Germany from a malaria region have killed two workers at the country’s busiest airport.

Six Frankfurt Airport employees caught malaria on the job, according to German outlet Hessischer Rundfunk. The first of the two victims died in early July. The second death came in August. All four surviving patients have since left the hospital.

The airport operator, Fraport, identified the infections as airport malaria, CNN reported. The label covers the rare cases in which the disease spreads beyond the regions where it circulates, according to CNN, citing the Frankfurt health department. The cause of the first case emerged only after the patient had died.

The Robert Koch Institute (RKI) confirmed four infections in mid-July, with the patients falling ill between July 4 and July 6, according to its Epidemiological Bulletin. The count reached six by late August. Germany’s national public health agency assumes an infected Anopheles mosquito arrived by aircraft and passed on the infection, according to the bulletin.

The institute has urged physicians to consider airport malaria when patients present unexplained fever and report no recent travel abroad, according to the bulletin. That advice covers anyone working at or near airports served by intercontinental passenger and cargo flights, according to the RKI. New Data Shows Gen Z Regrets Voting For Trump

New data from public opinion research firm Navigator found that 31 percent of Generation Z said they regret voting for President Donald Trump in the 2024 election.

Generation Z showed more regret about their voting choices compared with 28 percent of Millennials, 20 percent of Generation X, and 10 percent of Baby Boomers, who all said they regretted voting for Trump, according to the data, compiled from several surveys taken between June 4 and July 27. Alternatively, 69 percent of Generation Z said they did not regret voting for Trump, compared with 72 percent of Millennials, 80 percent of Generation X, and 90 percent of Baby Boomers.

In addition, Trump has the lowest approval rating among Generation Z, with only 33 percent of voters saying they either strongly approve or somewhat approve of the way he is handling his job as president. Trump had a 38 percent approval rating among Millennials, 39 percent among Generation X, and 41 percent among Baby Boomers.

Furthermore, Generation Z is the most pessimistic about the direction of the country, with a net of -42 saying the country is headed in the right direction compared with Millennials (net -35), Generation X (net – 34), and Baby Boomers (net -27), the same data shows. Fifty percent of voters between the ages of 18-44 said they disapproved of Trump’s handling of the economy but also do not trust Democrats on the issue.

‘Delete From The Deleted File’ — Fauci Tried To Destroy Gain-Of-Function Research Email, New Docs Reveal

Eight years before COVID emerged, a journalist issued a prophetic warning that risky viral research could usher in “doomsday” and damage the reputation of the National Institutes of Health (NIH). Anthony Fauci groused in an email to an aide about that warning, then instructed the aide to permanently delete the exchange, documents obtained by the Daily Caller News Foundation show.

The documents add to growing evidence that Fauci destroyed public records despite his sworn testimony that he never did. Deleting government records violates federal law.

Fauci did not respond to a request for comment.

In 2011, the advent of gain-of-function research — experiments that make viruses more infectious or deadly in the lab — caused its first major controversy. With funding from Fauci’s institute at the NIH, Dutch virologist Ron Fouchier had made an airborne strain of a bird flu with an estimated 50% fatality rate, which he described as “probably one of the most dangerous viruses you can make.”

Fauci and New York Times science writer Phil Boffey traded barbs in newspaper opinion pages about the work.

Manmade pandemic viruses are a “risk worth taking,” Fauci insisted in a December 2011 Washington Post editorial, because they could help drugmakers and public health get a jump start if they emerge in nature. Joe Biden Considered Pardoning Trump during 2023 Pillow Talk with Jill, GOP Governor says

Joe Biden discussed the possibility of granting President Trump a pardon in a bedtime conversation with his wife, Jill, according to Republican Utah Gov. Spencer Cox.

In an anecdote from his upcoming book, detailed in The Atlantic Thursday, the governor revealed that he pitched Biden on the idea of pardoning Trump back in August 2023 — only to find out that the then-president and first lady had already been mulling it.

“Mr. President, I know this might sound crazy, but I think you should pardon Donald Trump,” Cox recalled telling Biden, as the two sat inside the presidential limousine in Salt Lake City.

According to the governor, Biden responded: “You know, I’ve actually considered this for a while.”

“In fact, just this week as we were lying in bed, Jill and I had a long conversation about it,” Biden continued, noting people were “demanding justice” but he was entertaining the idea of a Trump pardon.

Trump Renames Lake Ontario to ‘Lake America’ in Jab at Canada over Trade War

President Donald Trump has followed through on his threat to rename Lake Ontario as his trade war with Canada continues.

The president lambasted Canadian officials after they rejected a trade deal and responded with reciprocal tariffs to Trump’s newest tariffs.

The president signed an executive order changing the lake’s name to “Lake America” on Thursday.

“We’re going to be changing the name of Lake Ontario effective immediately to Lake America,” he said to reporters.

“We filed all of the necessary papers, documents, [and] everything else. We’ve notified all of the various people you have to notify,” he added.

Israeli Airstrikes in Gaza Kill Two People, Including 4-Year-Old Boy, Medics Say

Two Israeli airstrikes in the Gaza Strip on ⁠Sunday ⁠killed at least two people, including a four-year-old ⁠boy, and wounded seven others, Palestinian health officials said, as Israel warned it would intensify strikes after what ​it said were launches of balloons, drones and kites from Gaza toward Israel.

One of the strikes hit a building in Zawayda town in the centre of the ‌enclave and followed a warning by the Israeli ‌army for the owners of the property to leave the area, residents said.

Medics said flying debris and shrapnel that spread for dozens of metres around had ⁠wounded at least ⁠six people, including the four-year-old, Mohammad Abdel-Salam Taha, who was later pronounced dead at hospital.

“There is ​no ceasefire, there is nothing,” said Abu Ahmed, a displaced Palestinian who was sheltering close to the building, which the airstrike reduced to a pile of mangled steel and concrete.

Trump Releases His Ranking Of U.S. Presidents … And You’ll Never Guess Who’s At The Top

President Donald Trump released his ranking of United States presidents on Thursday, with himself at the top of the list.

The president posted the graphic to Truth Social, referring to a CNN news segment reporting that a majority of Republicans admire Trump over leaders such as Ronald Reagan and Abraham Lincoln. According to the poll, 53% of Republicans said they admire Trump most while 18% chose Reagan and just 8% favor Lincoln.

Trump place himself in a tier of his own labeled “The Greatest.”

Founding fathers George Washington and Thomas Jefferson were ranked below Trump as “Great,” along with Abraham Lincoln, Franklin D. Roosevelt, Woodrow Wilson, and Andrew Jackson.

Theodore Roosevelt, Grover Cleveland, John Adams and James K. Polk were all labeled “Near Great.”

One X user indicated that the image shared by Trump closely resembles a 1948 ranking of United States presidents according to 55 scholars posted in Life Magazine. If so, it would explain the absence of the majority of presidents from the second half of the 20th century, including Eisenhower, Kennedy, Johnson, Nixon, Ford, Reagan, and both Bushes.

A local beekeeper electrified a North Carolina county commissioners’ meeting with an anti-Flock surveillance speech, emphasizing the bipartisan makeup of the growing, nationwide backlash.

Tens of thousands of Flock Safety cameras and automated license plate readers (ALPRs) blanket the U.S., but have triggered pushback from concerned citizens, local activists, civil liberties groups and state and federal lawmakers. Flock’s defenders say the cameras are a crucial tool for fighting crime, but detractors believe the government could exploit the system and violate Americans’ constitutional rights.

Barry Harris, a beekeeper from Wilmington, North Carolina, delivered a three-minute, anti-Flock speech at a New Hanover County Commissioners meeting earlier in August. Harris highlighted the bipartisanship on display, arguing that Flock cameras are “not a winning issue” for local politicians.

“There’s gays, straights, young, old, liberals, way-left liberals, Genghis Khan conservatives to the right here,” Harris said.

Harris was among 41 locals who spoke at the Aug. 17 meeting in protest of New Hanover County’s contract with Flock and the New Hanover County Sheriff’s Office’s operation of 19 Flock cameras. Ahead of the meeting, dozens of protesters gathered outside the New Hanover County courthouse holding anti-Flock signs. Mamdani Posts Emotional Message Mourning Accused Knife-Wielding Killer —and is Slammed by Victim’s Family

Mayor Zohran Mamdani publicly mourned an accused career criminal killer who died on Rikers Island this week — and the family of the victim slain in the sick, unprovoked attack is now livid, The Post has learned.

Hizzoner said on X that he was “deeply saddened” by the in-custody death — the seventh so far this year at the troubled jail complex — adding that, “my thoughts are with his family and loved ones as they grieve this loss.”

The inmate was identified as 41-year-old Clarence Woodward, an ex-con with nearly 30 arrests on his rap sheet, who was found unresponsive in his cell shortly after 5 a.m. Tuesday while awaiting trial for murder in the gruesome 2024 attack at a Bronx laundromat.

To the family of victim Jose Miranda, the mayor’s statement was “a slap in the face.”

“It’s terrible,” his grieving mother, Marisol Miranda, told The Post on Thursday, adding, “That’s not fair. That’s not fair at all.”

The Rockland Country resident said that the mayor’s sorrow was misplaced, and should have instead been aimed at her beloved son, a 45-year-old dad of two who worked as a barber when he was stabbed to death.
