Suicide Rate Soars for Girls as Young as 10 — and Expert Claims One Major Trend is to Blame

Suicide rates among girls have grown at a faster rate than boys in recent years, thanks to younger access to social media and the impact of the COVID lockdowns, according to experts.

Suicide is now the second leading cause of death among 10- to 14-year-olds in the US, with marked increases noted between 2007 and 2021, according to a new report in JAMA Pediatrics, an American Medical Association-published medical journal released Tuesday.

Historically, male suicide rates have been higher than female suicide rates across all age groups, but between 2007 and 2017, the suicide rate for girls aged 10 to 19 increased far more than the rate for males.

While huge emphasis in recent years has been placed on the dangers of toxic online spaces on young boys — such as Andrew Tate’s manosphere — commentators may have overlooked how susceptible young girls were to pernicious content on social media, according to the report’s author, Dr. Jean Twenge, professor of psychology at San Diego State University.

“From roughly 2010 to 2019, I think it’s pretty clear that social media and smartphones were behind a lot of that increase in suicides, especially for girls,” Twenge, author of “10 Rules for Raising Kids in a High-Tech World,” told The Post.

“Social media use is more strongly linked to depression and other mental health issues among girls than it is among boys,” she said. (Read more from “Suicide Rate Soars for Girls as Young as 10 — and Expert Claims One Major Trend is to Blame” HERE)

Droves of Subscribers Cancel Netflix After ‘Neck Injury’ Joke on One-Year Anniversary of Charlie Kirk Assassination

Droves of Netflix subscribers are announcing they have canceled their memberships after the streaming giant made a “neck injury” joke on the one-year anniversary of the assassination of Turning Point USA founder Charlie Kirk.

“Nearly did himself a neck injury,” Netflix’s official UK and Ireland X account quipped in a Thursday caption, sharing a photo of a male character from The Gentlemen apparently straining his neck to get a better view of a woman.

The joke about a man having a “neck injury,” however, was posted on September 10, the one-year anniversary of the assassination of Charlie Kirk, who was fatally shot in the neck while trying to have an open and respectful dialogue with a student at Utah Valley University.

Viewers were quick to notice the veiled jab, resulting in a slew of social media users taking to the comment section of Netflix UK & Ireland’s post to announce they are canceling their subscriptions.

“Cancel Netflix completely,” Jack Posobiec — conservative commentator and a close friend of Kirk’s — demanded.

RFK Jr. Now Probing Whether US Service Members Died From COVID Vaccines

An Army doctor said she is teaming up with the Trump administration to investigate whether U.S. service members died from COVID-19 vaccines after a Biden-era mandate, Politico first reported Thursday.

Dr. Theresa Long told a Virginia federal court that Secretary of War Pete Hegseth selected her to be Health and Human Services (HHS) Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr.’s senior medical military adviser, Politico reported, citing an Aug. 14 deposition. Long stated that she is probing whether 2,544 unverified deaths among troops reported to HHS’ Vaccine Adverse Event Reporting System (VAERS) resulted from COVID-19 vaccines, according to the outlet.

Long also told the court in the deposition that she is seeking to complete her research about potential vaccine-related health complications “within a year,” Politico reported.

The Pentagon referred the Daily Caller News Foundation to the HHS when asked for comment. The HHS did not immediately respond to the DCNF. Long could not immediately be reached for comment.

When reached for comment, the Department of War told Politico that it does not “have anything to announce at this time” regarding Long’s role as Kennedy’s senior medical military adviser and referred the outlet to a May 8 statement. Wealthy District Sued for Allowing Kids to Change their Names and Gender on School Records without Parents Knowing

A wealthy elite New Jersey school district is being sued for allowing students to change their names and gender identities on school records without telling their parents, reports say.

The controversial Chathams School District policy also keeps parents in the dark when giving students access to bathrooms and locker rooms based on what gender they identify with, according to NJ.com.

The directive reportedly gives the district’s guidance counselors the authority to decide “whether, and to what extent” parents can be informed.

“They have a policy in the school district that will actually punish children that don’t use the demanded new gender identity pronoun and name of another student,” seethed Moms for Liberty CEO and founder Tina Descovich, whose group is among the plaintiffs, to Fox News Digital.

“They can do that just one time on accident, and they can be punished up to suspension just for using the wrong pronoun or the wrong name of someone that is identifying as something other than they actually are,” she said of other students. Unruly Airline Passenger who had to be Duct-Taped to Seat after N-word Meltdown Fired from Arizona Realty Company

A belligerent passenger who was duct-taped and zip-tied after hurling slurs on an American Airlines flight was fired from an Arizona realty company over his “concerning criminal charges.”

Arthur Layne Lundeen, 67, was axed from his job as a real-estate agent at the Tucson-based company Long Realty after he was identified as the lunatic who hurled the N-word at a flight attendant and shouted anti-gay insults on American Airlines flight 618 Thursday night.

“Long Realty is aware of reports concerning criminal charges filed against a former affiliated real estate agent arising from an incident that allegedly occurred during a commercial flight,” Long Realty wrote in a statement on Facebook Sunday.

“Upon learning of the incident, Long Realty promptly ended its affiliation with the individual. The individual is no longer associated with or authorized to represent Long Realty in any capacity,” the company said.

We expect those associated with our company to uphold those values, and we have no tolerance for conduct that so clearly falls short of those expectations,” the statement continued. “Our thoughts are with the passengers, crew members, and others affected by this incident.” (Read more from “Unruly Airline Passenger who had to be Duct-Taped to Seat after N-word Meltdown Fired from Arizona Realty Company” HERE)

‘All Signs’ Pointing to ‘Major Escalation’ on World Stage just Ahead of Midterms: Expert

Foreign policy expert Trita Parsi issued a dire warning Sunday that “all signs” were pointing to a “major escalation” in the U.S. war against Iran, one that “may very well” occur next month.

“All signs point to a major escalation between the US, Iran and Israel. And it may very well be initiated by Tehran itself a week or two before the midterm elections,” Parsi wrote Sunday in a statement published on social media. “Iran’s pattern of behavior suggests preparation for that war, including how they are clearing the path for even more effective strikes against Israel.”

The U.S. war against Iran has seen few direct exchanges of fire since July, a trend that was broken last week after Iran responded to a wave of U.S. strikes by attacking U.S. allies Jordan and Bahrain. On Saturday, the United States struck three Iranian oil tankers, an attack that Iran’s parliament speaker vowed Sunday to answer with a “more intense and more painful response,” CBS News reported.

And yet, Iran’s response to U.S. attacks, as previously noted by Parsi, has been comparatively reserved, suggesting Tehran may be waiting for a more “optimal moment to strike back.” That moment, Parsi previously theorized, could be “two or three weeks before the congressional elections, maximizing the political damage to Trump.”

Should a “major escalation” in war occur, Parsi also warned that it was likely Israel would play a larger direct role in the conflict.

Survey Spells Bad News For Anti-Gunners

Americans own tens of millions of modern semiautomatic firearms that are the subject of a pending Supreme Court case, a Georgetown University professor estimated in a study released in August.

The study, which came five years after an initial effort in 2021, includes new data on the popularity of modern semiautomatic firearms that could influence Viramontes v. Cook County, a lawsuit seeking to invalidate a local ban on so-called “assault weapons” first passed by the Illinois county in 2006. The data suggests these modern firearms could be found to be “in common use,” making them protected under the Supreme Court’s Second Amendment precedents in Heller and Bruen.

William English, an assistant professor of strategy, economics, ethics, and public policy at Georgetown University, surveyed 51,398 U.S. residents aged 18 and older for the study, identifying 16,688 gun owners who provided detailed responses about firearm ownership and use, including the use of firearms for self-defense. English estimated that at least 88 million Americans own over 460 million firearms, including 60 million modern semiautomatic rifles and 539 million detachable magazines holding more than 10 rounds.

“In general, firearms ownership continued to diversify, both with regard to minorities and women in particular,” English told the Daily Caller News Foundation when reached for comment.

In May, Virginia Democratic Gov. Abigail Spanberger signed a ban on modern semiautomatic firearms, which drew immediate legal challenges from pro-Second Amendment organizations. Prior to the law taking effect, purchasers raced to buy the banned firearms. (Read more from “Survey Spells Bad News For Anti-Gunners” HERE)

Lindsay Clancy-Obsessed Mom Corie Walsh, Accused of Murdering Son, 2, Retains Notorious ‘Tot Mom’ Casey Anthony’s Lawyer

The Lindsay Clancy-obsessed mom accused of hanging her 2-year-old son before trying to kill herself has retained notorious “tot mom” Casey Anthony’s former lawyer, known as the “Angel of Death Row.”

Mother-of-four Corie Walsh, 40, is charged with murdering her son Barrett Walsh at their home in Frankfort, Illinois, on Sept 1. –– just hours after discussing Clancy’s trial for killing her three children with exercise bands before attempting suicide.

Walsh is being represented by Andrea Lyon –– an attorney who previously made headlines when she worked on the defense of Florida mom Anthony when she was accused of murdering her 2-year-old daughter Caylee in 2008.

Dubbed the “Angel of Death Row” because of her record of wins in death penalty cases, former law school dean Lyon was a member of Anthony’s legal team in the lead-up to her trial in 2011.

“This is a tragedy for the Walsh family all of whom are mourning the loss of this child,” Lyon said in a statement she provided to The Post regarding her new client’s case.

“It is also a tragedy in that Corie herself was experiencing a psychotic episode at the time this happened. (Read more from “Lindsay Clancy-Obsessed Mom Corie Walsh, Accused of Murdering Son, 2, Retains Notorious ‘Tot Mom’ Casey Anthony’s Lawyer” HERE)

Chilling Video Shows Crocodile Chomp Handler’s Legs as He Desperately Fights for Life: ‘He Couldn’t Scream’

Harrowing video shows a crocodile handler desperately clinging to the side of a pool as the hulking predator grabs onto his legs and drags him into the water.

The worker was trying to feed the croc a chicken inside an enclosure at Adventure Park in Papua New Guinea’s capital city, Port Moresby, on Saturday afternoon when he was attacked.

He was rushed to the hospital after being trapped in the beast’s jaws for over an hour but died from his injuries on Sunday morning, the Australian Broadcasting Corporation reported.

“He brought the chicken to the fence and the crocodile attacked the person and tried to bring him into the pool,” eyewitness Gibson John said, according to the outlet.

“He was in severe pain but he couldn’t scream. He couldn’t speak properly at that time. It was the pain I could see from his eyes.

“The only thing I could hear him say was, ‘I haven’t done anything wrong.’” (Read more from “Chilling Video Shows Crocodile Chomp Handler’s Legs as He Desperately Fights for Life: ‘He Couldn’t Scream’” HERE)

Trump Floods Social Media with AI Images Annexing Two Countries, Renaming a State and Claiming Ownership of the Moon

President Trump is spending Labor Day flooding his Truth Social account with AI-generated images about conquering both the Earth and outer space alike.

Trump on Monday posted a map of North America, where both Canada and Mexico are annexed to the United States — and shaded in stars and stripes.

He dropped several posts suggesting the state of New Mexico be renamed “New America.” The posts carried various maps bearing the new name.

In another, Trump claimed the moon for the United States.

Trump declaring himself the best leader ever was another theme.

He shared a ranking of US presidents, listing himself at the top as the “Greatest,” above “greats” Abraham Lincoln, George Washington, Franklin D. Roosevelt, Thomas Jefferson and Andrew Jackson.
