Merry Christmas! Senate Passes Defense Bill That Repeals Military Coronavirus Vaccine Mandate

By Breitbart. The Senate on Thursday passed the National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA), which repeals the Biden administration’s military vaccine mandate.

The Senate passed H.R. 7776, the NDAA for the fiscal year 2023, 83-11. The bill featured strong bipartisan support for the bill.

The NDAA repeals Biden’s military vaccine mandate. While many Senate Republicans cheered the repeal of the mandate, GOP senators, such as Sen. Rick Scott (R-FL), said he would continue to fight to give backpay to those who were “wrongfully discharged”:

Florida is home to 21 military bases and three unified commands, and proud of the important and strategic role we play in America’s national defense. As a member of the Senate Armed Services Committee, I fought hard this year to make sure the Sunshine State, America’s national security initiatives, our military, veterans and their families got big wins in this NDAA. Since coming to the Senate four years ago, I’ve consistently advocated for major investments in our defense capabilities and to support Florida’s military bases and our military families. The NDAA that passed the Senate today is a huge improvement over President Biden’s woefully inadequate defense budget proposal and a great win for Florida, America’s national security and our military community, but there is still work to do. While I’m glad this NDAA rescinds the Pentagon’s COVID-19 vaccine mandate, I will continue to fight so that every service member who was wrongfully discharged has the opportunity to be reinstated with backpay.

The Senate Just Passed a Major Defense Bill. Here’s What’s in It

By Daily Caller. The Senate passed the Fiscal Year 2023 National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA) on Thursday, sending the $847 billion package to President Joe Biden’s desk.

The bill passed 83-11. The legislation, named for outgoing Senate Armed Services Committee ranking member James Inhofe of Oklahoma, allocates $816 billion to the Department of Defense and $30 billion to the Department of Energy. Here’s what’s in it:

. . .The NDAA eliminates the Department of Defense’s COVID-19 vaccine mandate. Roughly 3,400 service members have been discharged for refusing the shot since Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin announced the mandate in 2021. The bill does not reinstate those service members, and an amendment doing so proposed by Republican Sen. Ron Johnson of Wisconsin and Republican Sen. Ted Cruz of Texas failed 40-54. . .

The NDAA raises service member and DOD civilian employee pay by 4.6%, which is their largest raise in 20 years. Veterans previously received an 8.7% increase in their pensions, a cost-of-living adjustment announced by the Social Security Administration in October. . .

The bill includes as an amendment the Taiwan Enhanced Resilience Act, which allocates up to $10 billion in military aid for Taiwan to be distributed over a five-year period. In order to receive the aid, Taiwan must increase its own defense spending. The NDAA also allocates $800 million to Ukraine. Congress could spend up to $40 billion more on aid for Ukraine by the end of the 117th Congress, since President Joe Biden requested that $37 billion more for the war-torn country be included in the FY2023 full government funding package. Hard to Watch: First Emmys for Kids Heavily Focuses on LGBT Content

The first annual Children’s and Family Emmy Awards had numerous speeches and awards focused on LGBTQ messaging in an event catering to kids from “infancy to age 15.”

The two-night award show, created by the National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences, bestowed awards on numerous productions containing discussions on gender ideology, and winners occasionally made references to similar progressive topics.

Of all the programs awarded and subsequent acceptance speeches this past weekend, 1 in 4 of them included some information regarding gender identity or sexual orientation.

The first night was hosted by dancer and TikTok star JoJo Siwa, who often refers to herself as “pansexual.” At the start of the show, XOMG pop group, a dance troupe of young girls dressed in futuristic rainbow-colored outfits, performed onstage before Siwa introduced herself. . .

“Muppet Babies” received an award for Outstanding Writing for a Preschool Animated Program. The ceremony specifically highlighted the controversial “Gonzo-rella” episode, in which the character Gonzo tries on dresses and uses they/them programs to identify as non-binary. Poll: Trump Sees Double-digit Lead in Republican Primary

Former President Donald Trump is seeing a double-digit lead in a hypothetical Republican primary race, an NPR/PBS NewsHour/Marist Poll released this week found.

When asked who they believe the presidential nominee should be, provided with Trump, Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis, former Vice President Mike Pence, or “someone else,” 45 percent of Republicans and Republican-leaning independents chose Trump.

DeSantis, whom many speculate will toss his hat in the ring in 2024, followed 12 points behind, garnering 33 percent support.

Pence did not even come close, as only eight percent chose him. Another 11 percent chose “someone else,” and three percent remain unsure.

Donald Trump Unveils Free Speech Policy Plan to ‘Shatter Left-wing Censorship Regime’

Former President Donald J. Trump unveiled a free-speech policy platform on Thursday to “shatter the left-wing censorship regime and reclaim the right to free speech for all Americans.”

The 45th president shared a video to his Truth Social account where he details a number of policy steps he would enact, if elected president, to prohibit censorship by government agencies and big tech companies.

These plans include revising Section 230 of the Communications Decency Act, establishing a cooling-off period requiring former employees of the FBI, CIA, and other government agencies to wait seven years before joining tech companies that have “vast quantities of U.S. user data,” and establishing a “digital bill of rights,” among several other actions. Why the Redefinition of the Word ‘Woman’ Matters

Samuel Johnson’s “Dictionary of the English Language,” first published in 1755, defines the word “woman” as, “The female of the human race.” And until October of 2022, the word “woman” was still defined as, “An adult female human being” in the Cambridge Dictionary. What transpired on the topic during the intervening 267 years? Not much. Science confirmed what men and women have known since Adam and Eve began talking past each other — not only do the sexes have immutable physiological differences, down to their genetic matter, but they observe, act, and think differently as well.

Yet Cambridge now says the definition of woman is, “An adult who lives and identifies as female though they may have been said to have a different sex at birth” (and the definition of a “man” is someone who “identifies as male though they may have been said to have a different sex at birth.”) How does one use “woman” in a sentence? One of Cambridge’s examples is, “Mary is a woman who was assigned male at birth.” Who assigned Mary’s sex? Her parents? God? Evolution? The SRY gene? And what other human characteristics does Cambridge believe can be altered according to one’s feelings? Lexicographers have a responsibility to offer clarity and accuracy — which is, of course, impossible in this case. . .

As hard as I try, it is difficult not to bring up Orwell these days. In “Politics and the English Language,” Orwell notes that the “struggle against the abuse of language” is often treated as a “sentimental archaism, like preferring candles to electric light or hansom cabs to aeroplanes.” But how can we deny that ideas are corrupting language, and language is corrupting thought?

At first, these liturgic declarations of one’s “pronouns” seemed relatively harmless to me. And, not that it matters much, but I’ve been perfectly willing to refer to adults in whatever manner they desire. It’s a free country. Pursue your happiness. It’s not like gender-bending is some new idea. In my real-world experience, I find that most people try to be courteous. (Read more from “Why the Redefinition of the Word ‘Woman’ Matters” HERE)

Report: U.S. Intelligence Agencies Are Keeping From Congress Key Information About COVID Origins

U.S. intelligence agencies are obstructing congressional oversight by failing to disclose relevant information about Covid-19’s origins and potential connections to a Chinese bioweapons program, finds a new report from the Republicans on the House Permanent Select Committee On Intelligence. The HPSCI Republicans led by Rep. Brad Wenstrup of Ohio found “indications that SARS-CoV-2 may have been tied to China’s biological weapons research program and spilled over to the human population during a lab-related incident at the Wuhan Institute of Virology (WIV).”

U.S. intelligence agencies, along with corporate media and Big Tech, scrambled at Covid’s release to censor suggestions the virus leaked from a lab working on gain-of-function research at the Wuhan Institute of Virology. Publications such as The Federalist that reported on evidence for the lab leak theory were punished by internet censors.

Wenstrup confirmed during a press conference on Thursday that “right now, there’s no evidence that it came from nature.” He also said China’s communist government likely benefitted from misleading reports that Covid originated in a Chinese wet market, instead of from a government-run lab.

“Since the People’s Republic of China has not been transparent in sharing information, the IC is uniquely situated to provide relevant information. However, the IC has thus far failed to inform the public and failed to keep its Congressional oversight committees fully informed about what it knows,” the report states. “The IC owes the American people greater transparency on the information it already has and must be fully transparent to those in Congress with oversight responsibility.” (Read more from “Report: U.S. Intelligence Agencies Are Keeping From Congress Key Information About COVID Origins” HERE)

The US Is Preparing for the Possibility of War With China — In Space

The U.S. launched a Space Force unit in South Korea Tuesday, the latest development in preparations for the possibility of a future war spilling into space, where China is seen as the largest threat.

U.S. leaders and defense officials have shifted their focus to space in recent years, exemplified by the creation of the Space Force three years ago as of Dec. 20 under former President Donald Trump, and highlighted China as the major challenge. China, Russia and other major rivals have demonstrated technological advancements enabling them to take down satellites and conduct war in the space domain, according to media reports, upping pressure on the Pentagon to enhance its own defense capabilities in space.

The latest Pentagon report on China’s rising military power concluded Beijing likely intends space defense architecture to deter and counter any foreign intervention in regional conflict, alluding to expectations the U.S. may intervene if China moves militarily against Taiwan.

The Space Force’s inauguration and championing under the Biden administration is the “single most important thing” to consider in how the U.S. is preparing to deter, and possibly fight with, China, Tom DiNanno, an adjunct fellow for national security at the Hudson Institute, told the DCNF.

Space Forces Korea, the force’s first foreign command, is tasked with detecting and tracking incoming missiles and serve as a deterrent to Pyongyang and Beijing against aggression toward the U.S. and its regional allies, according to CNN. Transgender Student Charged for Alleged Violent Assault of Two Girls in School Bathroom

A transgender high school student has been charged after allegedly assaulting two female students in the girls bathroom at an Oklahoma high school, leaving them with injuries.

The alleged incident occurred on October 26 at Edmond Memorial High School, just north of Oklahoma City, according to the police report, which was obtained by the feminist outlet Reduxx.

A police officer responded to the school at around 8 a.m. to reports of a fight. He found a female student in the nurse’s office who had suffered injuries to her face and head, including “several red areas” on her face. Both of her eyes were starting to swell up, the officer noted in the report.

The trans-identifying student, a biological male, reportedly approached one of the girls in the bathroom while she was speaking with friends and attempted to talk to her, but she ignored him. He then became angry and approached her with balled fists, asking if she “wanted to fight,” according to the report.

The student then allegedly hit the female victim in the face, pulled her hair, and forced her to the ground where he kicked her in the face and punched her repeatedly. The girl indicated to police that the attack was forceful enough to prevent her from fighting back.
