Self-professed Satanists, heathens, atheists, spiritualists and so-called “other’d folk” joined forces Saturday to “reclaim” a Texas city center from Christians.

Although the event’s organizer Raynie Castañeda claimed the second annual Pagan Pride Fest in Tyler was “not satanic,” it nevertheless saw droves of people pay to renounce their religious beliefs and hail the devil.

“We’re just hanging out,” Castañeda told the Tyler Morning Telegraph. “There’s kids trick-or-treating, people getting their faces painted … We’re not doing anything satanic or any crazy rituals. We’re just existing.”

According to an event listing, the aim of the festival was to “gather & celebrate ourselves in the center of town, on our Good Old Square, which has historically been the place of our town’s atrocities against BIPOC, LGBTQ+, Pagans, and any non-Christian folk. We reclaim this space in Honour of Ourselves, or our Gods, or our Ancestors,”

Supplier Warns Americans to Brace for Fuel Shortage, Higher Prices

Fuel supplier Mansfield Energy is taking steps to prepare for a diesel shortage on the East Coast of the United States, issuing an advisory to businesses that rely on the fuel to plan rather than panic.

Last week, Mansfield Energy raised a red flag on the upcoming diesel fuel shortage in the southeastern region of the U.S., speculating it could be from “poor pipeline shipping economies” and a historically low supply of reserves.

On a normal day, the East Coast markets have 50 million barrels in storage, but right now, there are less than 25 million barrels available.

Study: Outside of School, America’s Teens Average 70 Hours per Week Glued to Screens

Americans ages 11 to 18 play online for an average of 10 hours per day, according to a study out today by a research team that includes psychologist Jean Twenge, author of “iGen” and “Generation Me.”

The researchers surveyed 1,600 Americans ages 11 to 18 in May 2022. On average, the study participants reported using digital media an average of 10 hours and four minutes per day, on such entertainment activities as social media, video chat, texting, shopping, and gaming.

That’s a total of 70 hours per week spent online, approximately double the average time spent in school. If teens were suddenly banned from screen time, they could use the time freed from solely that to instead hold down both a full-time and a part-time job. Some of this average may include multitasking, such as texting while scrolling Instagram, the study said, but this total of 70 hours per week spent on screens also did not include time spent watching TV. . .

The researchers say their Institute for Family Studies and Wheatley Institute study is the first to examine the effects of family structure on young people’s screen time. They found that teens living with their own biological and married parents still spent an astonishing amount of time on screens, at an average of nine hours per day. Still, that was nearly two hours fewer per day, on average, than children living without a biological parent, who spent an average of 11 hours per day online.

“The adolescents most likely to be depressed, lonely, and dissatisfied with life are heavy digital media users in stepparent, single-parent, or other non-intact families,” write study authors Twenge, Wendy Wang, Jenet Erickson, and Brad Wilcox. “The link between excessive technology use and poor mental health is larger for youth in non-intact families compared to those in intact families.” (Read more from “Study: Outside of School, America’s Teens Average 70 Hours per Week Glued to Screens” HERE)

FBI Agent Who Pushed to Censor Hunter Biden Story Is Shaping Biden Admin’s Response to ‘Misinformation’

An FBI agent who coordinated with Facebook to suppress the Hunter Biden laptop story is advising the Biden administration in its push to suppress information on social media, according to leaked documents published by The Intercept.

Laura Dehmlow was involved in conversations between the FBI and Facebook ahead of the social media company’s decision to censor the story surrounding the contents of Hunter Biden’s laptop before the 2020 election, the Washington Free Beacon reported. She was later involved in the Biden administration’s efforts to suppress and censor content on social media platforms for misinformation-related purposes, according to The Intercept.

“We need a media infrastructure that is held accountable,” she said during a March meeting attended by Twitter executives and executives from JP Morgan Chase, according to documents obtained by The Intercept. She also said subversive content on social media could weaken public support for the U.S. government.

The Department of Homeland Security (DHS) has made plans to pressure private social media companies to censor information on “the origins of the COVID-19 pandemic and the efficacy of COVID-19 vaccines, racial justice, U.S. withdrawal from Afghanistan, and the nature of U.S. support to Ukraine,” according to leaked documents obtained by The Intercept. Facebook and Instagram also have a formal process for government officials to ask them to suppress certain information. Report: At Least 10,000 Fewer Legal Abortions Have Occurred Since Overturn of Roe

At least 10,000 fewer legal abortions occurred in the U.S. in the two months following the Supreme Court decision to overturn Roe v. Wade, according to a report by FiveThirtyEight.

The study, compiled by the pro-abortion non-profit #WeCount, part of the Society for Family Planning (SFP), noted that 10,570 fewer abortions took place in July and August than estimates from before the overturn of Roe.

The data compared the number of legal abortions across each state from April through August to illustrate the difference before and after the Supreme Court’s ruling. States that enacted more restrictive abortion laws in the wake of the decision saw a drop of over 22,000 abortions, while states that did not saw an aggregate increase of about 12,000.

Elon Musk Reveals if Trump Will Be Allowed Back on Twitter

Elon Musk took to Twitter on Monday and addressed the question that’s on everybody’s mind: Will he permit Donald Trump back on the social media site?

“If I had a dollar for every time someone asked me if Trump is coming back on this platform, Twitter would be minting money!” the new Twitter boss tweeted Monday.

Musk last week completed his $44 billion acquisition of Twitter. Upon taking control of the company, he began cleaning house by firing its top executives.

In the weeks and months leading up to his purchase of Twitter, Musk, who calls himself a “free speech absolutist,” pledged to reinstate Trump’s account.

Report: Google Manipulated Searches in Senate Races

A report from the Media Research Center, strongly denied by Google, suggests the tech giant is manipulating search terms related to races for the U.S. Senate to favor Democrats.

Google is under intense scrutiny this election cycle after a study from North Carolina State University found that Gmail sent roughly 59 percent more Republican campaign emails to users’ spam folders than Democrats during the 2020 election. The Republican National Committee alleges that this imbalance is ongoing, and intentional on Google’s part.

Now, a Media Research Center (MRC) study claims Google is favoring Democrats in search results related to Senate races, but not House races.

In the Senate study MRC Free Speech America conducted, Google buried 10 of 12 Senate Republican Party candidates’ campaign websites while highlighting their opponents campaign sites in organic search results. But when doing the same search, Bing and DuckDuckGo showed both the Senate Democratic Party candidates’ campaign websites and the Senate Republican Party candidates’ campaign websites in the top five organic search results on page one.

Meanwhile, MRC Free Speech America found that Google placed Republican campaign websites higher in search results than Democrat campaign websites by a 21-11 margin in House races, while giving four races equal treatment.

Report: Big Tech Had Regular Meetings With DHS on Censoring Americans

Executives from Facebook and Twitter, including the recently-fired head of trust & safety Vijaya Gadde, held regular meetings with the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) to discuss censorship on a wide range of topics, including the withdrawal from Afghanistan, coronavirus, and “racial justice,” according to leaked documents.

The information came to light via leaks to the Intercept, as well as documents and minutes revealed through Missouri Attorney General Eric Schmitt’s lawsuit filed against the Biden Administration that alleges government collusion with Big Tech to suppress Americans’ First Amendment rights.

According to the material, DHS plans to target alleged misinformation around “the origins of the COVID-19 pandemic and the efficacy of COVID-19 vaccines, racial justice, U.S. withdrawal from Afghanistan, and the nature of U.S. support to Ukraine.”

Judge Orders True the Vote Leaders Detained for Contempt of Court

A U.S. district judge on Monday ordered that two leaders of a conservative election integrity watchdog organization be detained for a day following their failure to comply with a court mandate to hand over evidence as part of their legal battle with Konnech, a Michigan-based firm that provides poll watcher management software to election offices.

After holding both in contempt in a Thursday hearing, U.S. District Judge Kenneth Hoyt ordered that Gregg Phillips and Catherine Engelbrecht comply with the court order to name an unidentified individual whom they say was present at a 2021 meeting during which they purportedly received evidence to substantiate their claims against Konnech. Hoyt gave them until 9 a.m. Monday morning to produce the information or face detention, per the Texas Tribune. They declined to comply.

“Therefore, the defendants Gregg Phillips and Catherine Englebrecht [sic], are ORDERED detained by the U.S. Marshal for one-day and further until they fully comply with the Courts Order as set out in the TRO,” Hoyt wrote Monday. Marshals escorted the pair from the courtroom to a holding cell after they refused on Monday to name the other individual present at the meeting. They will reportedly remain in jail until they release the name of the man.

Phillips previously announced the contempt ruling on Thursday via Truth Social, saying, “Doing the right thing isn’t always easy but it’s always right… We were held in contempt of court because we refused to burn a confidential informant or our researchers.
