Study: Aspirin and Acetaminophen Raise Risk of Severe Pregnancy Complications

Pregnant women who took over-the-counter pain relievers such as ibuprofen and acetaminophen were at higher risk of experiencing stillbirth, miscarriage, and delivering their babies pre-term, according to a massive new U.K. study.

Researchers in the United Kingdom surveyed records of more than 151,000 women who gave birth in the Aberdeen Maternity and Neonatal Databank between 1985 and 2015. The vast majority of women, over 83%, who were pregnant reported using an over-the-counter analgesic to relieve common symptoms such as joint pain in the first trimester. They studied five common pain relievers — acetaminophen, ibuprofen, aspirin, diclofenac, and naproxen. Women who took at least one of five over-the-counter painkillers during pregnancy were at a 50% higher risk of premature delivery and 33% more likely to experience a stillbirth.

They also found that babies born to mothers who took at least one of the five over-the-counter analgesics were 64% more likely to have birth defects of the brain, spine, or spinal cord and 57% more likely to be transferred to the neonatal intensive care unit to receive specialized care.

Pregnant women are generally discouraged from taking nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs such as aspirin, Advil, and Aleve due to the risk they pose of causing neonatal kidney damage and high blood pressure in the baby’s lungs, particularly in later stages of pregnancy. Acetaminophen was especially common, with 55% of the pregnant women the U.K. researchers studied reported using it.

The risk of severe birth defects was even higher when acetaminophen was combined with nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs. (Read more from “Study: Aspirin and Acetaminophen Raise Risk of Severe Pregnancy Complications” HERE)

Profanity, Vulgarity, and Abortion: Thousands Gather at Washington, D.C. Abortion Rights Rally Amid Turmoil Over Roe (VIDEO)

At a Saturday march rife with profanity, vulgarity, and references to women’s reproductive organs, thousands of pro-abortion rights protestors assembled in Washington, D.C., to demonstrate against the potential overturn of Roe v. Wade.

The protestors gathered by the Washington Monument for a rally before marching to the Supreme Court in response to the leak of a draft opinion showing that the Supreme Court had voted to strike down the landmark decision. . .

Many of the protestors carried signs drawing on the demonstration’s theme, “Bans off our bodies,” accompanied by some reference to abortions or women’s reproductive organs. Many of these signs contained some form of vulgarity. Women’s March and Planned Parenthood helped organize the event.

“Keep your filthy laws off my silky drawers,” one sign photographed by The Daily Wire said. “Motherhood is a choice not a decision by the state,” said another. . .

One young woman who said she is a student from Seattle, Washington, told The Daily Wire that she was “protesting to keep abortions” safe and to “federally protect” Roe v. Wade. She wants to “keep rights” for herself and her friends, saying, “I know people who have almost died from getting unsafe abortions.”

Buffalo Shooter’s Quiet Hometown Stunned After Supermarket Shooting

Residents of rural Conklin, New York were stunned Saturday by the news the gunman accused in the Buffalo supermarket attack was a teenager who lived in their town.

Payton Gendron, 18, allegedly drove his parents’ car over 200 miles from Conklin to Buffalo Saturday to massacre 10 people in a racially motivated mass shooting he live streamed on Twitch.

Conklin is a sleepy community of about 5,000 people on the Susquehanna River just north of the Pennsylvania border in Broome County and 10 miles south of Binghamton. The population is 95.7 percent white, according to Census estimates.

“It’s disturbing — this kid went to the same school system as I did … how can someone that had a similar upbringing do this?” said Alexis Sorbello, who was bartending at Jumbo’s the only bar in town open late Saturday.

The local bar on Saturday had an American flag hanging by the pool table and pro wrestling and a baseball game on the big screens— but no sign of the shooting that hours ago brought national spotlight to their small community. Biden Admits: ‘Heck of a Lot Harder’ to Be Cop in His America (VIDEO)

President Joe Biden acknowledged the difficulty of being a police officer in the current political and social climate during a speech at the National Peace Officers’ Memorial Service on Capitol Hill on Sunday.

“Being a cop today is a lot harder than it has ever been,” Biden said, alluding to rising crime in some of America’s biggest cities under his administration.

Seventy-three law enforcement officers were killed in the line of duty in 2021, 24 of which were killed in unprovoked attacks. Twenty-seven more officers were killed in 2021 than in 2020.

The president tried to sympathize with police officers, despite his longtime support for radical anti-police organizations such as Black Lives Matter.

“It is a different world,” Biden said. “Over the last several years it is so much more complicated, the job is complicated. We expect so much more from all of you.”

Industry Disputes Interior’s Rationale for Canceling AK Offshore Lease Sale

Industry groups and some Republicans are disputing the Biden administration’s justification for pulling the plug on the offshore lease sale in Alaska’s Cook Inlet, which it said was canceled “due to lack of industry interest.”

Both have argued energy companies and other parties did want the sale to move forward and that the only way to gauge interest in the sale properly would have been to hold it and allow energy companies to offer bids.

The Interior Department confirmed late Wednesday it would not move forward with work on three offshore lease sales, one for acreage in Cook Inlet and two off the Gulf Coast, the last outstanding sales outlined in the current five-year offshore leasing program.

Kara Moriarty, president and CEO of the Alaska Oil and Gas Association, said the administration’s reasoning on Cook Inlet was “disingenuous” and pointed to comments she filed with the Bureau of Ocean Energy Management in December in which she expressed her organization’s support for the sale.

“We certainly said, ‘Hey, we support having a lease sale move forward,’ and as a trade association, we don’t put out any comments unless, obviously, the majority of our members support that,” she told the Washington Examiner. WATCH: This Man Spent His Day Telling Pro-Abortion Protestors He’s Glad Their Mothers Didn’t Abort Them. They Weren’t Happy About It

A pro-life protestor roused the ire of pro-abortion demonstrators Saturday by cheerfully and repeatedly telling them he is glad that their mothers chose not to abort them.

As thousands gathered to join the “Bans off our Bodies” rally, largely led by the Women’s March, the pro-life protestor stood across the street from the Washington Monument and told passersby with a big smile, “I’m so glad your mother didn’t abort you!”

The Daily Wire observed a man on a scooter yell an obscenity at the pro-life man from across the street, to which the pro-life protestor responded, “I am SO glad she did. I get to see you, my friend!”

“I know your name. Moron,” said a man who was leaving the protest and appeared to be blind.

“Hey, I’m glad your mother didn’t abort you,” the pro-life protestor said cheerfully. The man responded, “That was her choice, you dumb f*ck.”

Liberals Can’t Resist Laughing at Trump Tweets (VIDEO)

The Daily Caller’s Noah Pincus tested liberals on how much they miss former President Donald Trump’s presence on Twitter by reading some of his funniest tweets.

The respondents interviewed on the streets of New York City said Trump should not return to Twitter even after Elon Musk said the former president would be allowed back on the platform. Some respondents said they might even delete their account if Trump returns. Pincus then read old tweets by Trump that made even those opposing his return to Twitter laugh.

“Barney Frank looked disgusting—nipples protruding—in his blue shirt before Congress,” one tweet said. “Very very disrespectful.”

“Why would Kim Jung Un insult me by calling me old when I would never call him short and fat?” another tweet said. “Oh well, I try so hard to be his friend. I hope someday that will happen.”

Calvin Klein Includes Pregnant Transgender ‘Man’ in Mother’s Day Ad

On Mother’s Day, lifestyle brand Calvin Klein posted a series of photos commemorating the holiday, one which included a pregnant transgender “man.”

“Today, in support of women and mothers all over the world, we’re spotlighting the realities of new families,” the caption on the photo read.

“ @erikafeeh and @roberto_bete are expecting parents from Brazil. Roberto is due to give birth to his and Erika’s son Noah any day now.”

While some comments were supportive of the post, many users pointed out that they felt “confused” and that the company was virtue signaling. Other users wrote they would never purchase products from the brand again and that they would see more of its products on the discount racks at off-price retailers.

Hillary Clinton Accuses Republicans of Wanting Babies to Starve

Hillary Clinton took to Twitter to accuse GOP members of wanting to “kill certain babies” amid the nation’s baby formula shortage, while she and the Democratic Party support unlimited abortion on demand, making further clear their hypocrisy on respect for life.

In response to Governor Greg Abbott’s (R-TX) statement addressing his fury that baby formula is being shipped to border migrant camps, Clinton said “The Republican, ‘pro-life’ position is now that certain babies should starve.”

The mishandling of the formula shortage is one more way in which the Biden Administration is putting American families last, at the expense of others.

Clinton’s comment came after Abbott pushed back against the Biden administration’s decision to send much-needed baby formula to illegal immigrants, while thousands of grocery store shelves remain empty, leaving parents in a panic. Worst Last Day Ever? Psaki Heckled During Chaotic Final WH Briefing: ‘Please, Stop!’

White House press secretary Jen Psaki’s final briefing with reporters went off the rails Friday after one reporter repeatedly shouted a question about fair access in the room.

As Psaki began to take questions — after fighting back tears as she thanked members of the administration and the press corps — Simon Ateba, the chief White House correspondent for Today News Africa, was heard yelling from the back of the press briefing room.

“Why don’t you take questions from across the room?” Ateba asked as Associated Press reporter Zeke Miller attempted to get things started with a query about the ongoing baby formula shortage.

“Why don’t you take questions from across the room? Because that’s not what you’ve done for the past 15 months,” Ateba shouted again. . .

“Simon, please, stop,” she said. (Read more from “Worst Last Day Ever? Psaki Heckled During Chaotic Final WH Briefing: ‘Please, Stop!'” HERE)
