‘Tell the State Dept. To F–k Themselves’: Taliban’s Taunts To Desperate Evacuees

By New York Post. Members of Congress and their staffers who scrambled to help Americans and their Afghan allies get out of Afghanistan before this week’s withdrawal deadline have revealed some of the frantic messages they received from people desperate to leave in recent days.

Multiple outlets, including The Post, reported on the difficulties facing would-be evacuees who attempted to get to Kabul’s Hamid Karzai International Airport through a gauntlet of Taliban checkpoints.

Now, the messages obtained by the Washington Examiner show how fraught the situation became in the final days before the last flight left Aug. 30. . .

The man recalled being told by the State Department to go to the Interior Ministry in Kabul, where he was confronted by a Taliban guard. After the man explained the situation, the Taliban fighter responded: “Go and tell the State Department to f— themselves.”

The evacuee said he made it into the airport by making a break for it during a firefight at a checkpoint on Aug. 27, the day after an ISIS-K suicide bomber killed at least 13 US service members and at least 169 Afghans at the airport’s Abbey Gate. Report: Afghans Arriving At U.S. Military Bases To Get $1,250 Payments

Afghans arriving in the United States and being temporarily resettled at U.S. military bases will receive one-time payments from the State Department, funded by American taxpayers. . .

Most of all Afghans headed to military bases for temporary resettlement are arriving on “humanitarian parole,” which does not expire for at least two years. These Afghans are not eligible for Special Immigrant Visas (SIVs), P-2 visas, or refugee status.

According to the Washington Post, Afghans arriving at military bases will secure a $1,250 one-time payment provided to them through the State Department and funded by American taxpayers.

Among the Afghans arriving in the U.S. — from Dulles International Airport in Virginia and Philadelphia International Airport in Pennsylvania — are those who have little-to-no ties to America and many who do not have the most basic paperwork to prove their identities. The Biden administration, the Post notes, has yet to disclose what they are doing with Afghans who fail the vetting process. Biden’s Abandoned Americans: 30+ Children Still Trapped in Afghanistan

More than 30 California children likely remain stranded in Afghanistan, days after President Joe Biden evacuated U.S. forces from the country while abandoning billions of dollars worth of military equipment to the Taliban terrorists.

According to California school board officials in three districts, which confirmed the U.S. legal status of the children to the Associated Press (AP), 30 children “have been forgotten by the U.S. government.”

The AP reported the children remain stranded due to Biden pulling U.S. forces from the country before the children could make their way through the Taliban terrorists’ check points enroute to the extraction point at the airport.

San Juan Union School District in Sacramento identified “27 students from 19 families” that remain stranded. Another school district inside Sacramento told the AP they had three trapped children in hiding.

Country Testing ‘Orwellian’ Quarantine App That Dispatches Police if Users Don’t Verify Location Within 15 Minutes

A state in Australia is testing a new app that would help the government track residents to ensure they are obeying COVID-19 quarantine orders.

The government of South Australia has begun a trial of the Home Quarantine SA, an app that The Atlantic calls “as Orwellian as any in the free world.”

Australians will download an app on their cellphone that features facial recognition and geolocation. The South Australian government will randomly contact the user to check if they are at their approved quarantine location. Users will have 15 minutes to take a photo of their face. If the quarantining individual fails to reply within 15 minutes, a police officer will be sent to “check” on the person. Hundreds of American Citizens in Afghanistan: ‘They Lied to Us’

Hundreds of American citizens and people with green cards were left in Afghanistan after U.S. forces withdrew from the country, the Associated Press reported Thursday.

U.S. citizens and lawful permanent residents who were left in Afghanistan were reportedly told after the last American flight took off from the Kabul international airport to expect information about routes out of the country, Undersecretary of State for Political Affairs Victoria Nuland said, according to the AP.

“We will communicate directly to them personalized instructions on what they should do, when they should do it, and how the United States government feels we are best positioned to help them do that,” State Department spokesman Ned Price said, the AP reported. . .

Green card holder Javed Habibi said the U.S. government promised him, his wife and their four daughters that they would be evacuated from Afghanistan and able to return home to Richmond, Virginia, according to the AP. Habibi said the federal government told the family to stay put and that they would be able to leave the country, but they’re still stuck in Afghanistan.

“They lied to us,” Habibi told the AP. He’s lived and worked as an electrician in the U.S. on a special immigrant visa since 2015 and was scheduled to return from Afghanistan on Aug. 31 following a family visit. China Orders Broadcasters to ‘Put An End’ to ‘Sissy Men’

The Chinese government ordered its TV broadcasters to “put an end to sissy men and other abnormal esthetics,” its TV regulator said, as China’s Communist Party cracks down on its society for a “national rejuvenation” ordered by President Xi Jinping, the Associated Press reported.

China’s TV regulator insultingly addressed effeminate men with the slang term “niang pao” meaning “girlie guns.” The order to “put an end” to them demonstrates the Chinese government’s worries that male pop stars provide a lack of masculine influence for the nation’s men. Meanwhile, in nearby Japan and South Korea, many male pop stars are known for having a sleek and feminine image.

In addition, broadcasters were ordered to not promote “vulgar internet celebrities” alongside celebrity culture and that broadcasters should “vigorously promote excellent Chinese traditional culture, revolutionary culture and advanced socialist culture.”

Majority of Voters Say Biden Should Resign Over Afghanistan Withdrawal

A slim majority of likely voters think President Joe Biden should resign over his administration’s handling of the Afghanistan withdrawal, according to a national poll.

Fifty-two percent of likely voters surveyed by Rasmussen Reports said Biden should resign over the withdrawal. Thirty-nine percent said he should remain in office. Nine percent said they were not sure. The survey took place Aug. 30-31, the final days of the U.S. withdrawal, and polled 1,000 likely voters. Most of the people surveyed also said Vice President Kamala Harris is not qualified to replace Biden should he choose to resign.

911 Operator in Major City Caught Deliberately Disconnecting Calls

New Orleans police are looking for a 911 operator accused of deliberately hanging up during emergency calls and has since been fired, authorities said.

The New Orleans Police Department on Thursday said it was looking for Precious Stephens on charges of malfeasance in office and interfering with an emergency communication.

Stephens was working with the Orleans Parish Communications District when she allegedly disconnected 911 calls without taking vital information or relaying the calls to other dispatchers for aid. ‘Ambush-Style’ Attacks on Police More Than Double Compared to 2020

There have been far more than double the number of ambush-style attacks on law enforcement so far this year compared to the same time in 2020, national police union records show.

As of Tuesday, the Fraternal Order of Police (FOP) recorded 67 “ambush-style attacks” on officers year to date, with 83 officers wounded — 20 of them did not survive

“What we’re witnessing should alarm all Americans: 2021 is on pace to have record levels of officers SHOT and KILLED by gunfire,” the union said in a Wednesday tweet.

Congressman: Nancy Pelosi Blocked Reading Names of 13 U.S. Troops Killed in Kabul

House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) blocked GOP representatives from reading on the House floor the names of the 13 United States troops who were killed in a terrorist attack in Kabul, Afghanistan last week.

“How badly do Nancy Pelosi and the House Democrats want to cover up this Afghanistan debacle? They just blocked Members of Congress from reading the names of the service members who sacrificed their lives in Afghanistan last week,” Rep. Carlos Gimenez (R-FL) tweeted on Tuesday. “Don’t you think our military deserves better?”

Rep. Brian Mast (R-FL), who was wounded during combat in Afghanistan, told The Floridian that Pelosi refused to recognize a Republican-only “moment of silence” for the fallen service members.

“We gaveled in, had a prayer, said the Pledge of Allegiance, took a moment of silence with pretty much all Republican veterans, then asked to be recognized to read names and bring up Afghanistan legislation,” Mast told the outlet. “They did not acknowledge us, and just closed the House down.”
