The lack of an exception in the cases of rape and incest seems extreme. Why wasn’t that included?

The purpose of the law is to challenge the Supreme Court’s 1973’s Roe v. Wade decision by establishing a baby in the womb as a person. If exceptions are added for cases of rape and incest, then it contradicts the argument, according to the bill’s sponsor, Rep. Terri Collins (R-Decatur). . .

Would this make it illegal for a person to prescribe the Morning-After pill since one would only take that if they thought they were pregnant, and this bill makes abortion illegal from the moment a woman suspects she’s pregnant?

“The decision was based on someone in utero, someone pregnant so we don’t get into conception. We don’t get into birth control,” Collins explained. “We don’t get into the morning-after pill, but in utero, which is the language they used that when a woman is pregnant. Alabama Women Worried New Law Means an Immediate End to Abortion Flood Clinics with Calls

By NBC News. The phones began ringing off the hook at the clinic not long after the Alabama governor signed a bill that would ban nearly all abortions in the state, including in cases of rape and incest.

The desperate women calling the POWER House, which is home of Montgomery’s only abortion clinic, all wanted to know the same thing.

“They’re asking, ‘Can we still come in? Are you still open?’,” said volunteer Bianca Cameron-Schwiesow. “They’re in a panic and they’re scared. And we say that is fine, you can still come in because they don’t realize that this is going to stay open for the next six months.”

If not longer. The law is supposed to go into effect in six months, but likely legal challenges from the American Civil Liberties Union and Planned Parenthood mean it could be years before the controversial Alabama law is enforced, experts have said.

“They are still terrified though,” said Margot Heartline, who also volunteers at POWER (People Organizing for Women’s Empowerment and Rights). Ilhan Omar Dramatically Attacks Trump: He’s Droning Jihadis ‘to Death’

By Breitbart. Rep. Ilhan Omar (D-MN), during a House panel hearing on Thursday, complained that U.S. President Donald Trump has dramatically intensified American airstrikes in her native Somalia that have killed hundreds of members of the al-Qaeda affiliate al-Shabaab.

Describing herself as “an African on this committee,” she suggested that the Trump administration should “reassess” the way it deals with al-Shabaab and other jihadis in Somalia. . .

Omar told the Trump administration witnesses invited to testify:

I just wanted to really get into this horrific reign of terror and its spread in Africa, and we oftentimes are really dealing with this issue, and it seems that we are attempting to drone it to death. … In Somalia, particularly in dealing with al-Shabaab, since President Trump has gotten elected, the number of drones have increased, but the number of attacks al-Shabaab has been able to carry out has also tripled. We also know the same to be true for Boko Haram.

On the African continent, the United States military only carries out direct airstrikes in Libya and Somalia. The U.S. does not directly target the Nigeria-based Boko Haram group, but it does support local efforts against the jihadis. U.S. on Track to Nearly Triple Airstrike Record in Somalia

By Long War Journal. The US military continues to target Shabaab’s conventional forces in Somalia with record fury. In one of its latest airstrike, US Africa Command killed eight Shabaab fighters as the group attacked a combined US and Somali force outside of the Somalia capital on March 11.

The US is now on pace to nearly triple last year’s record number of airstrikes against Shabaab, al Qaeda’s branch in East Africa. Monday’s strike marked the 26th time the AFRICOM has hit Shabaab in the first 10 weeks of 2019 – a staggering increase from the record-high total of 47 strikes in 2018.

The operational tempo against Shabaab has increased dramatically since President Trump took office. In the final year of the Obama Administration, the US launched 15 strikes against Shabaab. Bill De Blasio Officially Launches 2020 Presidential Campaign

By NY Post. After nearly half a year of hemming and hawing, Mayor Bill de Blasio on Thursday entered the 2020 presidential race, becoming the 24th Democrat to join the jam-packed field.

The termed-out politician, known for his habitual tardiness, finally decided to run after five months of toying with a White House bid.

“I’m Bill de Blasio and I’m running for president because it’s time we put working people first,” the mayor said in a three-minute YouTube video announcing his candidacy.

Here’s Just How Unhinged Hollywood Is over Alabama Passing a Massive Pro-Life Bill

The Alabama Senate on Tuesday passed the Alabama Human Life Protection Act 25-6. The House of Representatives previously passed the bill 74-3. And on Wednesday, Alabama Gov. Kay Ivey (R) signed the bill into law, which will go into effect in six months.

The bill bans almost all abortions, with the exception being the mother’s health is put at risk. There were no exemptions carved out for cases of rape and incest.

The goal of the bill was for it to be so stringent that it would be challenged and eventually make its way to the Supreme Court. The goal of the entire ordeal is to hopefully have Roe v. Wade overturned. . .

Author Asks Pro-Lifers What They’ve Done to Help Lower Income Single Mothers, Gets Flood of Remarkable Answers

A question directed at pro-lifers tweeted out by an author critical of Alabama’s “heartbeat bill” prompted a flood of responses that ended up demonstrating the personal, proactive generosity of many in the pro-life movement.

In a tweet pointed out by Twitchy, “blue-check” author and Times of Israel blogger Sarah Tuttle-Singer wrote: “Dear Pro-Life friends: what have you *personally* done to support lower income single mothers? I’ll wait:”

After the overwhelming response, the author and blogger issued some follow-up tweets praising the personal generosity of pro-lifers, while suggesting the government needs to step in to do more.

“I am delighted to see that there are good people out there supporting struggling single moms:) wish our government did more, too!” she wrote. “It’s wonderful to see so many pro life people personally doing things to help struggling single moms – but what about the government? Illegal Alien Serial Killer: Man Allegedly Killed 12 Elderly Women

By The Dallas News. A serial killer suspect faces 11 new capital murder charges in the deaths of elderly women in Dallas and Collin counties.

Billy Chemirmir, 46, has been in the Dallas County Jail since March 2018 facing a capital murder charge in the death of 81-year-old Lu Thi Harris.

Chemirmir, a former health care worker, was indicted Tuesday on six additional counts of capital murder in Dallas County and five counts in Collin County.

Suspected North Texas Serial Killer Charged in Smothering Deaths of 12 Elderly Women

By WFAA. A 46-year-old home health worker is now linked to the deaths of 12 elderly women in Dallas, Frisco and Plano.

Billy Chemirmir, 46, has been in custody since March 2018 on a capital murder charge in connection with the smothering death of 81-year-old Lu Thi Harris. . .

Investigators said early on they believed Chemirmir was linked to more deaths, but he had not faced new charges in a year.

His bail is now set at more than $9 million. There’s also an immigration hold on him, according to Dallas County jail records.

Air Force Deploys New Weapon to Deal with North Korea

The United States Air Force has reportedly deployed 20 new missiles to deal with the escalating threats from North Korea and Iran that can “zap” their military electronics, thus rendering their militaries completely ineffective.

“Known as the Counter-Electronics High Power Microwave Advanced Missile Project (CHAMP), the missiles were built by Boeing’s Phantom Works for the U.S. Air Force Research Laboratory and tested successfully in 2012,” The Daily Mail reported. “They have not been operation until now.” . . .

The missile, which reportedly has a range of 700 miles, is delivered from bombers and flies at a low altitude and delivers “sharp pulses of high power microwave (HPM) energy.” . . .

Tensions have risen sharply in recent weeks with North Korea, which has resumed missile testing, and Iran, which has reportedly been behind multiple provocations in the Middle East in recent weeks.

“In response to a number of troubling and escalatory indications and warnings, the United States is deploying the USS Abraham Lincoln Carrier Strike Group and a bomber task force to the U.S. Central Command region to send a clear and unmistakable message to the Iranian regime that any attack on United States interests or on those of our allies will be met with unrelenting force,” National Security Adviser John Bolton said earlier this month. “The United States is not seeking war with the Iranian regime, but we are fully prepared to respond to any attack, whether by proxy, the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps, or regular Iranian forces.” (Read more from “Air Force Deploys New Weapon to Deal with North Korea” HERE)

Watch: House GOP Leader Comes out Against Alabama Abortion Law

House Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy, R-Calif., says that a new abortion law being celebrated by pro-lifers around the country goes a little too far for his taste.

At a Thursday press conference, the minority leader was asked whether or not he thinks the new law in Alabama, which effectively bans all abortions, “goes too far.”

McCarthy responded, “It goes further than I believe. Yes.”

“First of all, I believe the most precious gift God gives us is life,” McCarthy elaborated. “And I defend my pro-life position for my whole political career, but in my whole political career, I also believed in [exemptions for] rape, incest, or life of the mother.”

“That’s exactly what Republicans have voted on in this House; that’s what our platform says,” McCarthy continued. “And I believe that’s the point of what you find, many of us, of where we stand.”

Alabama’s new law makes it a felony for a doctor to perform or attempt an abortion unless it is to save the life of the mother, punishable by 99 years in prison. It doesn’t contain exemptions, however, for pregnancies resulting from rape or incest.

McCarthy isn’t alone; his concerns about exemptions have also been echoed by voices in conservative media such as Erick Erickson at the Resurgent and the Bulwark’s Jonathan V. Last since the law was signed into effect by Republican Alabama Gov. Kay Ivey. Televangelist Pat Robertson also voiced concerns about the law.

But while such exemptions may be more politically expedient, BlazeTV White House correspondent Jon Miller pointed out in a recent episode of the White House Brief, exempting unborn children from pro-life protections because of the conditions of their conception is logically inconsistent with a philosophy that says all human beings have inherent worth from the moment of conception.

NYC Police Union Chief Reveals How Horrible of a President De Blasio Would Be

Think New York City Mayor “Red Bill” De Blasio would at least have the support of New York’s finest? Think again.

De Blasio announced Thursday that he is joining the already crowded field of 2020 Democratic presidential contenders. The leftist mayor is running on the campaign slogan “Working people first.”

But the New York City Police Benevolent Association (NYCPBA), which represents about two-thirds of the 36,000 officers in the city, was ready to set the record straight on de Blasio’s supposed advocacy for blue-collar Americans.

“While the mayor of our nation’s largest city is busy running around Iowa and getting upstaged by the mayor of South Bend, Indiana, there are real problems here at home,” NYCPBA leader Patrick Lynch said in a statement shortly after de Blasio’s announcement.

“As commander-in-chief, he would be an unmitigated disaster,” the statement added.

New York City police officers have regularly spoken out about the New York City mayor, who ran an anti-police mayoral campaign. During his tenure as mayor, de Blasio been openly hostile to law enforcement. During NYPD funerals, police officers have regularly turned their backs on the mayor to express their disdain for his leadership.

The de Blasio campaign is already off to a bumpy start. During his first live interview, the NYC mayor was swarmed by protesters chanting “Liar,” “Can’t run the city!” and “Can’t run the country!” the New York Post reports.

President Trump also weighed in via Twitter on the latest entry into the Democratic presidential race:

Video: ‘Lifelong Democrat and Proud Feminist’ Joins Conservatives to Oppose Transgender Bill

A Democratic effort to codify transgenderism into federal civil rights law has drawn the criticism of yet another prominent feminist activist.

At a Thursday Capitol Hill press conference put together by Rep. Vicky Hartzler, R-Mo., Women’s Liberation Front board member Kara Dansky introduced herself as a “lifelong Democrat and a proud feminist” and said the socially conservative politicians alongside her at the event probably “profoundly disagree” with her on several issues.

“But we are here together to take a strong stand for the rights, privacy, and safety of women and girls,” Dansky continued, “all of which are threatened by the so-called ‘Equality Act.’”

H.R. 5, the so-called, “Equality Act,” is expected to go to a floor vote in House of Representatives this week. Basically, it would add sexual orientation and gender identity (SOGI) as protected classes to federal civil rights law.

Dansky went on to list multiple reasons why the legislation would be bad news for women, if it were enacted, because it would “reconfigure” sex based on the “ill-defined and nebulous” idea of gender identity. She explained that “there is no way both do that and also protect women’s rights” and provided three reasons why:

“One: The word woman means ‘adult human female.’ Women have been fighting for our rights as women for thousands of years,” Dansky said. “As the men who excluded us from the franchise at the dawning of the republic knew, the word ‘sex’ has meaning.”

“Two: Women and girls fought hard for sex-segregated spaces, and we’re not giving them up,” she continued. “Not so long ago, there were no such things as women’s bathrooms, locker rooms, or changing rooms. … As long as the epidemic of male violence against women continues, women have the right to demand separate spaces from males, regardless of how they identify.

“Three: The notion of defining sex to include gender identity has material consequences for women and girls,” Dansky concluded. “Over the centuries, our society has created schools, scholarships, dormitories, business loans and other concrete benefits for women and girls precisely because we had been excluded from the public sphere for so long.”

But under the provisions of the “Equality Act,” those spaces and opportunities would have to be open to biological males as well.

Dansky is not the first left-leaning feminist to voice opposition to the bill’s provisions redefining sex and gender. At a hearing on the legislation back in April, lesbian activist Julia Beck called the bill a “human rights violation.”

“If the act passes in its current form as H.R. 5, then every right that women have fought for will cease to exist,” Beck told the House Judiciary Committee. “Every person in this country will lose their right to single-sex sports, grants, shelters, and loans. The law will forbid ever distinguishing between women and men.”

At Thursday’s press conference, Republican House members also warned about the “Equality Act’s” potential affects on unborn life and conscience rights.

“It would require a universal right to abortion, up until birth,” House Freedom Caucus member Debbie Lesko, R-Ariz., warned of the bill.

Lesko has introduced an amendment that seeks to create pro-life protections within the framework of the legislation by stating that nothing in the act “may be construed to grant or secure any right relating to abortion or the provision or funding thereof.”

Another House Freedom Caucus member, Rep. Jody Hice, R-Ga., warned that the bill’s adversarial provisions against religious liberty would have far-reaching and harmful implications for traditional believers all over the country:

Faith-based adoption agencies would have to violate their convictions of finding a mother and a father for a child or shut down. Small business owners of faith would have to violate their convictions on morality and marriage, and sexuality or close the doors. Churches and faith institutions would have to abandon the teachings of their church in order to participate in federally funded programs, so that things like Catholic schools could lose the national school lunch program. Jewish synagogues could lose grants for protection from terrorist threats. Churches could lose FEMA disaster aid. And faith-based colleges and universities could lose federal student aid.

“This is a horrifying bill,” Hice continued. “The Democrats are exposing themselves as the party willing to use the strong arm of government to oppress Americans, to demonize religion and religious liberties, and to circumvent our constitution.”
