Empty-Handed Robert Mueller’s Hunt for Collusion Has Expanded

Since May of last year, former FBI Director Robert Mueller has been on the hunt for Trump-Russia collusion. Although he has failed to bring a single collusion-related charge, Mueller has reportedly expanded his probe, tying up millions of dollars in federal resources to continue his perpetual hunt.

Bloomberg reports that Mueller is now relying on several additional prosecutors from the Department of Justice for his Russian interference investigation.

The special counsel has produced many indictments against several Russian nationals and Trump campaign officials, but none of the charges are at all related to collusion. Some indictments have nothing at all to do with Russia-related matters.

Mueller has been able to pursue endless leads thanks to his open mandate, which was delivered to him by Deputy Attorney General Rod Rosenstein, whose 2017 order allowed Mueller to investigate “any matters that arose or may arise indirectly from the investigation.”

The origins of the Mueller probe began with an Obama administration intelligence community assessment that alleged the Russian government pursued a sophisticated influence operations campaign to throw the election to Donald Trump. However, countless Russia experts and former government officials have now come to contest the assessment, arguing that Russia’s goal was instead to sow discord.

If Russia’s primary objective was to sow discord, the Mueller probe itself appears to be perfectly serving Russia’s goal. Mueller has essentially become the fourth branch of the government. His prosecutorial campaign and the endless expansion of his mandate and unchecked powers are egged on and protected by the Left.

Mueller’s staff currently includes 17 prosecutors, some of whom are overt partisans who have shown hostility toward the sitting U.S. president. Several prosecutors with clear biases have remained on Mueller’s team, even after it was disclosed that they showed a clear preference for Hillary Clinton. Disgraced FBI officials Peter Strzok and Lisa Page were removed from Mueller’s team after their extreme anti-Trump bias was discovered and publicly reported.

To make matters worse for Mueller’s legitimacy (and declining support in public polling), several special counsel indictments are now being contested in court. High-ranking members of Congress are also investigating the legitimacy of the indictments against decorated retired three-star general Michael Flynn.

It remains unknown when, if ever, Mueller will conclude his investigation. After a year and one month, he is no closer to finding evidence of collusion than he was on day one of his appointment. But that hasn’t stopped his team of aggressive — but unsuccessful — prosecutors from chasing down leads across the globe. For now, Mueller’s crusade expands, while the taxpayers foot the bill for an investigation that seems to have found its sole purpose in delegitimizing the mandate of the duly elected president. China Says the U.S. Has Started ‘the Biggest Trade War’ in History

By CNN Money. China on Friday accused the United States of starting “the biggest trade war in economic history” as US tariffs took effect on Chinese goods worth $34 billion.

“China is forced to strike back to safeguard core national interests and the interests of its people,” the country’s Commerce Ministry said in a statement after US tariffs kicked in just after midnight ET, which is noon in Beijing. . .

Even before Friday, the trade dispute between the world’s top two economies had rattled markets and prompted warnings from companies of damage to their bottom lines and higher prices for consumers.

U.S. and China Fire First Shots in $34bn Trade War

By BBC. US tariffs on $34bn (£25.7bn) of Chinese goods have come into effect, signalling the start of a trade war between the world’s two largest economies.

The 25% levy came into effect at midnight Washington time.

China has retaliated by imposing a similar 25% tariff on 545 items US imports worth a total of $34bn.

Beijing accused the US of starting the “largest trade war in economic history”.

The Facts: 48,000 Assaults Attributed to Illegal Aliens in 2017

Illegal [aliens] who were arrested by Immigration and Customs Enforcement were responsible for more than 48,000 assault offenses in 2017, according to a White House press release Thursday.

Illegals captured by ICE were also responsible for more than 5,000 sexual assault offenses, 2,000 kidnapping offenses, 1,800 homicide offenses and 76,000 dangerous drug offenses, according to the press release. . .

The release also highlights the role of ICE in seizing illegal drugs, noting the agency seized 980,000 pounds of narcotics in 2017, with 2,370 pounds of fentanyl and 6,967 pounds of heroin seized. . .

The release comes in the wake of several Democrats calling for the abolition of ICE, including New York Democratic Sen. Kirsten Gillibrand and Democratic Rep. Pramila Jayapal of Washington, according to a Tuesday CNN report.

Facebook Celebrates July 4th by Censoring the Declaration of Independence

While Americans across the country were gearing up to celebrate Independence Day, the temporary censorship of a Facebook post left one newspaper feeling a little less-than-free to celebrate American independence.

Just days before the July 4th holiday, Texas newspaper The Liberty County Vindicator was posting daily excerpts from the Declaration of Independence in anticipation. . .

After the post was censored, Casey Stinnett, The Vindicator’s managing editor, voiced the paper’s concerns about continuing to post text from the Declaration.

“So, the removal of this morning’s post puts The Vindicator in a quandary about whether to continue with posting the final two parts of the Declaration scheduled for tomorrow and Wednesday. Should Facebook find anything in them offensive, The Vindicator could lose its Facebook page,” he wrote.

An increasing number of publishers have recently faced this very situation. This begs the question: With no telling what will be censored next, how can publishers continue to trust an automated system to decide what news can and can’t be shared? Female Patriot Prayer Member Clobbers Antifa Goon on Camera

. . .Violence was on full display several days ago in Portland, Oregon, a distinctly liberal city. That’s where the right-leaning group Patriot Prayer was protested by the far-left and frequently violent group “antifa,” and one video clip from the melee has gone viral.

During a clash between Patriot Prayer, antifa, and a far-right group called the Proud Boys, all hell broke loose… but footage of a female Patriot member not just holding her own but physically dominating an antifa goon shows that the radical left may have bitten off more than it can chew.

“#Antifa would like you to refrain from making this into a GIF and using it all the time,” wrote Adam Richard on Twitter, along with a short clip of the altercation. “It’s not good for their image when their [Antifa] ‘soldiers’ get the s–t kicked out of them by Patriot Women. #PatriotPrayer.”

In the footage, a woman who is apparently part of the right-leaning Patriot Prayer group appears to have gotten the best of an antifa rioter, and pummels him on the ground as cameras record the action. . .

Man Tries to Steal Car With Kids Inside — Then the Mom Shows up and Grabs Her Gun

By The Daily Caller. . .Michelle Booker-Hicks was at a gas station in Dallas on Wednesday night when the attendant alerted her that a carjacker had begun to drive her car away, reported Dallas Morning News. She was able to jump into the back seat and after a brief altercation, she pulled a gun from her glove compartment.

The suspect, Ricky Wright, 36, was shot in the head and immediately crashed the vehicle into a utility pole. Wright was taken to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

“I should have just emptied the whole clip but I didn’t. I didn’t. I just wanted to give him warning shot, that was it,” Booker said to KTVT-TV. “I’m not a killer or anything like that, but I do believe in defending what’s mine.”

‘I Had to Do What I Had to Do,’ Says Dallas Mom Who Shot Man Trying to Steal SUV With Kids Inside

By Dallas News. A woman shot a man in the head as he tried to steal her SUV with her two children inside Wednesday night, Dallas police say. . .

The mother was identified by KDFW-TV (Channel 4) as Michelle Booker-Hicks. She told the station she had recently gotten the gun to defend herself. . .

She said she told the man her children were in the back seat and to pull over but he didn’t listen, so she went to the glove compartment and grabbed the gun.

The suspect, 36-year-old Ricky Wright, was taken to a hospital with injuries that were not life-threatening. He faces two counts of unlawful restraint and unauthorized use of a motor vehicle.

C’Mon! Leftists Protest ICE Officials as They Infiltrate a Child Sex Trafficking Ring Ran by Illegals

Liberal protesters in California scrambled to protest as they believed ICE agents were making an immigration raid on neighbors.

They gathered outside of an Oakland home Tuesday where Homeland Security officials were actually executing a federal criminal search warrant in connection with a child sex trafficking ring. . .

Clueless young liberals speaking with KPIX-TV admitted that although they didn’t know the details of what the federal agents were doing, the fact that they saw “a bunch of cop cars, a bunch of other cars that are apparently ICE cars,” was alarming given that there are “a lot of injustices going on.”

Oakland Police confirmed to KPIX that “this was in fact a federal criminal search warrant executed in connection with human sex trafficking of juveniles right here in the 700 block of 27th street,” reporter Neda Iranpour shared.

The ridiculous knee-jerk reactions of the left, especially as law enforcement was in the process of doing their job of rescuing human trafficking victims, were mocked and lambasted on Twitter.

Trump’s SCOTUS Pick: It’s Down to These Three People

By Townhall. We have another name to add to the Supreme Court short list: Judge Raymond Kethledge of the Sixth Circuit Court of Appeals…reportedly. NBC News reported on this development. Judges Amy Coney Barrett and Brett Kavanaugh, who were supposedly the final two, are also on the list. Kethledge is 51 years old and a graduate of Yale Law School:

President Donald Trump has narrowed his list of contenders to replace retiring Supreme Court Justice Anthony Kennedy to three serious candidates, a source familiar with the selection process told NBC News on Thursday.

Those candidates are appeals court judges Brett Kavanaugh, Raymond Kethledge and Amy Coney Barrett, the source, who was not authorized to speak publicly, said.

Kavanaugh, 53, and Kethledge, 51, are both former law clerks to Kennedy, as was Neil Gorsuch, Trump’s first Supreme Court nominee, who succeeded Antonin Scalia. Kavanaugh, also a veteran of George W. Bush’s White House, currently serves on the U.S. Court of Appeals for the District of Columbia.

Trump Completes Interviews of Supreme Court Candidates, as Shortlist Shrinks

By Fox News. President Trump has completed the interview process for Supreme Court candidates after speaking with six judges, a source with knowledge of the selection process told Fox News – with three finalists in particular leading the field.

The president and his vetting team have moved quickly ahead of an expected announcement on Monday.

While liberal advocacy groups and others are gearing up for a major confirmation fight, Trump is charging ahead with an imminent decision to fill the seat of retiring Justice Anthony Kennedy, and potentially move the court more solidly to the right.

Fox News is told that Trump has interviewed six candidates: Appeals court judges Brett Kavanaugh, Raymond Kethledge, Amy Coney Barrett, Amul Thapar, Joan Larsen and Thomas Hardiman. The interviews comprised seven conversations – Trump talked to one candidate twice.

Eat It, Liberals: Trump Economy Just Received Stellar News

If Donald Trump wins the election, the stock market will collapse. He doesn’t have an agenda that can create jobs. You all heard the doomsday talk. In the end, three million jobs have been created since Trump was elected. The Dow Jones broke 26,000, and had a 5,000-point surge last year—the largest annual gain ever. All told, the stock market has grown around 40 percent since Trump’s upset win over Hillary Clinton.

The tax reform package passed in 2017 has laid down a solid foundation for economic growth. Wages are growing. Consumer and small business confidence has reached its highest levels in 10+ years. Unemployment has reached an 18-year low, black unemployment has reached a historic low. The good economic news is pervasive and starting to make Democrats nervous, who thought the tax cuts would be an albatross around the GOP’s neck—wrong. Boys Trapped in Flooded Cave Found Alive After 9 Days. Here’s Why They Still Haven’t Been Rescued.

By The Blaze. The ongoing international rescue effort to get 12 young boys and their soccer coach out of a cave in northern Thailand has come up against another hurdle: heavy rains in the forecast could worsen the already flooded caves making rescue attempts impossible.

On June 23, the 11 to 16-year-old soccer players and their coach hiked into the Tham Luang Nang Non cave, a popular tourist site in Thailand. But as they ventured into the mountain, heavy rains caused the caves to flood and cut off their exit route. The group was forced to retreat nearly three miles into the cave to find dry ground. The group was trapped in total darkness for the next nine days. Two British divers discovered the boys and their coach on July 2, but the team’s troubles were far from over.

Thailand Cave Rescue: Diver Dies While Taking in Supplies

By BBC. A former Thai navy diver has died while taking part in efforts to rescue 12 boys and their football coach trapped in a flooded cave in Thailand.

Petty Officer Saman Gunan lost consciousness on his way out of the Tham Luang cave complex, where he had been delivering supplies.

“His job was to deliver oxygen. He did not have enough on his way back,” said an official.

He was brought out by his dive buddy but could not be revived.
