House Oversight Report Says Biden DOJ Opened Criminal Investigation Into COVID-19’s Origins

By Daily Caller. A congressional oversight subcommittee released the results of a two-year probe into the Covid-19 pandemic Monday, stating that the Department of Justice opened a criminal investigation related to the pandemic’s origins.

The 520-page report from the House Oversight Select Subcommittee on the Coronavirus Pandemic, under the leadership of Republican Kentucky Rep. Brad Wenstrup, concluded that U.S.-based nonprofit, EcoHealth Alliance facilitated gain-of-function research with taxpayer dollars in Wuhan, China, preceding the outbreak of the pandemic. The oversight subcommittee also found that the DOJ has formed a criminal grand jury to investigate EcoHealth Alliance’s “pandemic-era activities.”

“EcoHealth was subject to numerous federal investigations regarding both its potential role in the COVID-19 pandemic, but also multiple accusations surrounding violated federal grant policies. The outcomes of most of these investigations are public,” the report states. “However, the Select Subcommittee discovered that DOJ was also investigating the origins of COVID-19. The specific details of the investigation are unknown but, based on documents, it appears the DOJ’s investigation involves EcoHealth’s role in the COVID-19 pandemic.”

The DOJ has refrained from commenting on its investigation into the pandemic’s origins and EcoHealth Alliance, and the report leaves open the possibility that the agency’s investigation is ongoing.

EcoHealth Alliance is a longtime partner of the Wuhan Institute of Virology (WIV) and provided $600,000 in the form of National Institutes of Health subgrants to the Wuhan lab between 2014 and 2019 to study bat-based coronaviruses, the Daily Caller previously reported. The research nonprofit led by Dr. Peter Daszak misled the NIH regarding the WIV’s gain-of-function research funded in part by U.S. taxpayer dollars and failed to adequately monitor the Chinese entity’s gain-of-function experiments, according to the report. DOJ Secretly Investigated Nonprofit at Center of Wuhan COVID Lab Leak Questions, Bombshell House Report Reveals

The Department of Justice secretly launched a grand jury investigation into a US nonprofit that steered American taxpayer funding to the Chinese lab suspected of leaking the COVID-19 virus and causing the global pandemic, according to a bombshell report released by a House committee on Monday.

Scientific experts and former federal officials have suggested that EcoHealth Alliance’s grants to the China’s Wuhan Institute of Virology (WIV) funded gain-of-function research that could have led to a lab leak — but records requests have repeatedly been blocked by the National Institutes of Health, according to the report.

The details of the apparent federal investigation of EcoHealth Alliance remain secret — and members of the House Select Subcommittee on the Coronavirus Pandemic, which released the 520-page report on the origins of and response to the pandemic, have declined to talk about it, citing concerns about interfering in any potential DOJ investigation.

However, internal emails and records from EcoHealth Alliance included in the report reveal that the grand jury issued subpoenas for genetic sequences of EcoHealth’s research on viruses in Wuhan, as well as for correspondence between the organization’s president, Dr. Peter Daszak, and Dr. Shi Zhengli, his collaborator and the so-called “bat lady” at the Wuhan Institute of Virology who specialized on coronaviruses.

In one intercepted email, an attorney at the firm Tarter, Krinsky and Drogin tells Daszak to “skip” any reference to the federal probe when asking for more time to comply with documents request from the House Energy and Commerce Committee, which ran its own investigation on the COVID pandemic. Hunter Biden Special Counsel Fires Back at President’s Claim That First Son Was ‘Selectively and Unfairly Prosecuted’

Special counsel David Weiss on Monday dismissed President Biden’s claim that his troubled son, Hunter Biden, was “selectively and unfairly prosecuted” for federal tax and gun crimes.

“The Government does not challenge that the defendant has been the recipient of an act of mercy. But that does not mean the grand jury’s decision to charge him, based on a finding of probable cause, should be wiped away as if it never occurred,” Weiss wrote in a filing with the US District Court for the Central District of California, arguing that the judge overseeing Hunter’s tax case shouldn’t dismiss the indictment against the first son despite the president’s pardon.

“It also does not mean that his charges should be wiped away because the defendant falsely claimed that the charges were the result of some improper motive,” the special counsel added, noting that “no court has agreed with the defendant on these baseless claims, and his request to dismiss the indictment finds no support in the law or the practice of this district.”

Biden, 82, pardoned his disgraced 54-year-old son on Sunday on the basis that Hunter was “treated differently” by his own Justice Department.

“From the day I took office, I said I would not interfere with the Justice Department’s decision-making, and I kept my word even as I have watched my son being selectively, and unfairly, prosecuted,” the president wrote in his pardon announcement. Nancy Pelosi Seeks to Stage Another Coup In the Democratic Party

After playing a significant role in the coup against outgoing President Joe Biden, former House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) is back doing what she knows best: plotting another ouster within the Democratic Party.

According to a New York Times report, Pelosi seeks to shake up a critical House Committee. She is leading an effort to replace longtime Democrat Rep. Jerry Nadler (D-NY) as a ranking member of the House Judiciary Committee. She is quietly urging Rep. Jamie Raskin (D-CA) to challenge Nadler, and according to reports, he is strongly considering it.

However, the NYT pointed out that Nadler and Raskin’s close friendship stands in the way.

Raskin is a loyalist in Democrat’s eyes. He played a leading role in pushing several hoaxes, including the bogus Russian disinformation claims involving President-elect Donald Trump. He also suggested he would refuse to certify Trump’s 2024 win. . .

Although Raskin has not publicly announced his candidacy, Nadler has already hit the ground running, eager to hold on to his position. Nadler proudly said he led the Judiciary Committee’s efforts of two impeachments against Trump. The NYT also highlighted an additional advantage Raskin brings: his skill in engaging in impromptu debates. The report noted that House Democrat leaders are staying neutral for now. New Health Proposal Bans Men From Women’s Dressing Rooms After Nurses Are Accused of Needing to Be ‘Re-Educated’ on Gender

A group of nurses have drafted guidance for the National Health Service that would prevent men who believe they are women from entering women’s dressing rooms.

The policy guidance was requested by the health secretary for the United Kingdom, Wes Streeting.

The nurses said they were forced to share a dressing room with a male staff member who allegedly identifies as a woman. When the nurses raised concerns to their human resources department, the women were told they needed to be “re-educated” on the topic, they alleged.

The group of women have since taken their employers to a tribunal over sexual discrimination and sexual harassment.

Calling the proposed changes “common sense,” the nurses assert there should be no “hierarchy” in regard to equality laws, and therefore the rights of men who believe they are women should not be prioritized over actual women. Karine Jean-Pierre Gives Word Salad After Being Asked About Biden’s Pardon of Hunter

White House press secretary Karine Jean-Pierre talked in circles after being asked about President Joe Biden pardoning his son Hunter for crimes that may have been committed within a 10-year period after insisting during the election that he would not do so.

Jean-Pierre, accompanying Biden on a trip to Africa, was asked on Air Force One if Biden had previously lied to the American people about the pardon.

“First of all, one of the things that the president always believes is to be truthful to the American people. That is something that he always truly believes. And if you see the end of his — I assume that you’ve read his statement — and you look at the end of that statement, and he actually says that in the first line in the last paragraph, and — and respects the thinking and how the American people will actually see this and his decision-making, and I would encourage everyone to read it full, the president’s statement,” Jean-Pierre said.

“He came to this decision this weekend. So let’s be very clear about that,” she continued. “He says it himself. It’s in his voice. He said he came to this decision this weekend. And he said he wrestled with this and — because he believes in the justice system, but he also believes that the war politics infected the process and led to a miscarriage of justice.”

Joe Biden Tries To Justify Hunter Pardon By Peddling Another Round Of Lies

On Sunday, President Joe Biden granted his son Hunter a “full and unconditional pardon.” For someone who’s covered the Biden family corruption scandal since the censorship-industrial complex falsely portrayed Hunter’s laptop from hell as Russian disinformation, my reactions are several and sundry.

1. Joe Biden Is a Lying Liar

First up was imbibing in the hilarity of Joe Biden, once again, proving he lies with as much ease as he has in insulting Republicans.

In June, the president repeatedly vowed not to pardon his son, including during a joint news conference with the president of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelenskyy. As the time, the elder Biden stated: “I’m not gonna do anything. I said I abide by the jury — decision. I will do that. And I will not pardon him.”

President Biden’s “no pardon” position remained firm as recently as last month, when the issue arose during a press conference. “We’ve been asked that question multiple times and our answer stands — which is no,” White House Press Secretary Karine Jean-Pierre told reporters in early November. Without A Reckoning, The First U.S. Terror Attack Caused By Open Borders Won’t Be The Last

Surprisingly little news coverage followed America’s first terror attack by an illegal border-crossing immigrant on U.S. soil. On Saturday, 22-year-old Mauritanian Sidi Mohamed Abdallahi was found dead of an apparent hanging suicide in his Cook County, Illinois jail cell. America must learn from this to prevent the next attacks on U.S. soil by border-infiltrating jihadists.

Abdallahi illegally jumped the border from Tijuana to San Diego in March 2023 and was freed by U.S. Border Patrol. Under orders from the Biden-Harris Department of Homeland Security, Border Patrol has released millions of illegal entrants into the United States in the last four years.

On October 26, Abdallahi allegedly hunted down and shot in the back an identifiably Orthodox Jewish man walking to synagogue, then tried to up the body count by attacking responding police while shouting “Allahu Akbar!” Abdallahi still didn’t quit shooting even after police wounded him. Somehow he, the police, and the victim all survived.

This benchmarking story of America’s first terror attack by a border-crossing jihadist was largely ignored by national news media even though it came just before the brewing political war between pro-illegal immigrant Democrats and an incoming Trump administration promising an illegal immigration crackdown largely on national security grounds.

Now there will not even be a trial. Abdallahi’s sudden exit is no doubt privately regarded as a gift to pro-open borders advocates, their media sympathizers, and Democrat elected officials. But independent media and elected government must press for further details to prevent the next border-crossing terrorist attack. News Outlet Tied To First Trump Impeachment Exposed For Taking Huge Funding From State Department

The Organized Crime and Corruption Reporting Project (OCCRP), a foreign news organization instrumental in the first impeachment of President-elect Donald Trump, is primarily funded by the U.S. State Department, according to an investigation by Drop Site News.

OCCRP’s reporting on Rudy Giuliani’s business activities in Ukraine was cited four times in the whistleblower complaint that led to Trump’s impeachment. The organization also collaborates with over 50 major media outlets, including The New York Times and The Washington Post, Drop Site News reported

U.S. taxpayers have funded 52% of OCCRP’s expenditures between 2013 and 2024, and at least $47 million since its founding in 2008, according to the outlet. The organization’s largest single financial backer is the U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID), a State Department subsidiary.

OCCRP’s board defended its funding in a statement to Drop Site News, emphasizing previous transparency about its financial backers.

“We understand that reasonable people may believe that’s a bad idea, especially since it is not the norm in journalism in the United States (although government support of journalism is not uncommon in Europe and elsewhere). This was thoroughly discussed years ago when OCCRP was founded,” the board wrote. Texas Governor Threatens to Defund Children’s Hospital Over Doctor’s Viral TikTok

Texas Gov. Greg Abbott threatened last week to revoke government funding from a children’s hospital in response to a Houston doctor’s viral TikTok advising patients to skip a citizenship question on intake forms.

Abbott issued an executive order in early August requiring hospitals that take Medicaid or Children’s Health Insurance Plan to ask patients “Are you a U.S. citizen?” on specific intake forms. The new order went into effect on Nov. 1.

Dr. Tony Pastor, a cardiologist at Texas Children’s Hospital and assistant professor at Baylor College of Medicine in Houston, took to TikTok on Nov. 11 to let his audience know that he and other staff at the hospital were told that people did not have to answer the new question, despite the executive order. . .

Abbott responded in an accusatory Nov. 24 X post, warning the hospital that it could lose its funding because of Pastor’s comments.

“Hey Texas Children’s Hospital & Baylor College of Medicine this doctor is putting your Medicaid & Medicare funding at risk. [You] better think twice & have crystal clear records,” Abbott wrote.

Dem Donor: Oh, I Know Obama and Pelosi Didn’t Want Kamala

Democratic strategist Lindy Li doesn’t care if she never works in politics again. The operative has gone on a media tour, where she has excoriated her colleagues over the failed 2024 Kamala Harris campaign. She risks never working in Democratic politics again, but she likely couldn’t care less. She cannot keep her mouth shut regarding the unmitigated disaster this year and told NewsNation’s Natasha Zouves what we had an inkling of post-Joe Biden’s 2024 ouster: The party brain trust didn’t want Kamala Harris. Specifically, Barack Obama and Nancy Pelosi didn’t want her.

Ms. Li went into depth regarding these interactions, reportedly having deep ties to the Obama world and being friends with Ms. Pelosi.

“I know they didn’t,” she said. “It’s not a matter conjecture for me. I know they didn’t.”

Regarding her discussion with Pelosi’s camp, the former House speaker told Li to give Biden the code red, so to speak, granting her permission to venture onto Fox News Sunday, the day Biden got the boot, to sell the “step down and pass the mantle to the next generation” line.

“Obama and Pelosi were both hoping for a primary instead of a coronation, so to speak, “she added. “The chieftains of the party were hoping for a lightning round, a lightning primary.
