Benghazi Scapegoat Remains in Prison for Film

Photo Credit: APThe man who made the anti-Islam film that Obama administration officials erroneously blamed for the Benghazi, Libya, terror attacks remains in federal prison eight months later, serving a yearlong sentence for probation violations committed as a result of his involvement with the video.

Mark Basseley Youssef, who made the film “Innocence of the Muslims” under the pseudonym Sam Bacile, was sentenced in November after pleading guilty to four violations of a supervised release order, which included lying to his probation officer, using aliases, and using the Internet, according to court records.

“There has been no change in his status that we’re aware of,” an official with the U.S. Attorney’s office for the Central District of California, the office that charged him, said Monday on condition of anonymity. The Federal Bureau of Prisons lists his release date as Sept. 26.

Fox in the Hen House: Iran to Chair United Nations Arms Control Forum

Photo Credit: APIran will preside over the United Nations arms control forum this month, despite the fact that it is under U.N. sanctions for illicit nuclear activities and routinely supplies arms to the terrorist organization Hezbollah in violation of international law.

The U.N.’s annual Conference on Disarmament, which Iran is slated to lead from May 27 to June 23, is the organization’s primary multilateral forum for negotiating arms control agreements.

The forum has given way to major international treaties on nuclear non-proliferation, prohibitions on chemical weapons, and bans on nuclear tests.

UN Watch, a Geneva-based watchdog group, blasted the decision to allow Iran to chair the conference.

“This is like putting Jack the Ripper in charge of a women’s shelter,” said UN Watch executive director Hillel Neuer in a statement. “Iran is an international outlaw state that illegally supplies rockets to Syria, Hezbollah, and Hamas, aiding and abetting mass murder and terrorism. To make this rogue regime head of world arms control is simply an outrage. Abusers of international norms should not be the public face of the U.N.”

Indian Point To Become First Nuclear Plant To Operate With Expired License

Nuclear Regulatory Commission officials said Monday that the situation resulted in part from a complicated license-renewal process for nuclear reactors, the Journal News reported.

Indian Point 2′s 40-year license expires on Sept. 28. NRC regional administrator Bill Dean said that’s at least a year before any decision will be made on whether to extend it for another 20 years.

Dean said the reactor can keep operating because Entergy Nuclear, its owner, filed for renewal more than five years before the expiration date.

Obama’s Missile Defense Giveaway Feeding Impeachment Movement

As many Restoring Liberty readers will remember, in March of last year Obama was caught on a hot mic promising Putin stooge Dmitry Medvedev that after his “last election,” he would have far more flexibility on missile defense issues. Medvedev obediently responded that he’d “transmit this information to Vladmimir.”

At the time, Charles Hurt, of the Washington Times, observed – tongue in cheek – that this proved Obama was not “Kenyan after all. He’s KGB.” Hurt went on to note – more seriously – that the hot mic event revealed Obama “plotting with the leader of one of our oldest adversaries to thwart the will of American voters and advance the interests of enemies who want to see the world’s last remaining beacon of freedom finally destroyed.”

And what exactly did Obama promise Russia? Obama whispered, “On these issues — but particularly missile defense — this can be solved.”

Fast forward to May 2013. Obama has gone through his “last election.” Apparently, he’s now making good on his 2012 “secret” promise to the Russians. According to the Associated Press, the “head of the U.S. Missile Defense Agency says that the Obama administration has discussed declassifying key data on U.S. missile defense in order to provide it to Russia.”

Why? Purportedly, Obama is “exploring how to ease Russian concerns that the U.S. missile defense shield is aimed at countering Russia’s nuclear arsenal.”

So the plan is to give away critical missile defense data to a nuclear power that is in bed with Iran’s Ahmadinejad as well as other radical US enemies throughout the world.

This is insanity.

The GOP-controlled house should add this to its myriad of reasons to seek Obama’s impeachment.

George Will Suggests Impeachment Could Follow Obama’s IRS Tea Party Targeting (+video)

George Will joined the chorus talking about the prospect of impeachment for President Barack Obama after last week’s admission from the Internal Revenue Service that it had targeted groups with the phrases “tea party” or “patriot” in their tax-exempt applications for extra audits.

On Sunday’s broadcast of ABC’s “This Week with George Stephanopoulos,” Will proposed a scenario wherein the Bush administration had targeted groups with the word “progressive” in their names and concluded the situation would be much different in terms of expressions of outrage.

“Mr. Hicks, when he was in Libya, said his jaw dropped at the explanation back here,” Will said. “This was a jaw-dropping moment. By Fox News. Washington Republicans on Sunday characterized the IRS targeting Tea Party groups and other conservative political organizations as “chilling” and intimidating acts that heighten Americans’ mistrust in government.

Their comments follow the IRS acknowledgment Friday that the agency targeted such groups during the 2012 election cycle to see whether they were violating their tax-exempt status — a revelation followed by a report that such activity dated back to the previous year.

“The conclusion that the IRS came to is that they did have agents who were engaged in intimidation of political groups,” Michigan Rep. Mike Rogers told “Fox News Sunday.” “I don’t care if you’re a conservative, a liberal, a Democrat or a Republican, this should send a chill up your spine. It needs to have a full investigation.”

Evidence that the IRS was flagging such groups in 2011 was included in a draft inspector general’s report obtained Saturday by Fox News and other news organizations and is expected to be released in full later this week.

That information seemingly contradicts public statements by IRS Commissioner Douglas Shulman, who told congressional investigators in March 2011 that specific groups were not being targeted. Read more from this story HERE.

Smitten Teen Girls Drive Social Media Campaign to Free Boston Marathon Bombings Suspect “Jahar”

Photo Credit: NY PostThousands of American teen girls are crushing on Boston Marathon bomber Dzhokhar “Jahar” Tsarnaev, 19 — and leading a social-media movement to exonerate him.

The swooning teens will not accept allegations that the bushy-haired college kid — whom they refer to by his nickname, “Jahar” — and his brother, Tamerlan, 26, killed three and maimed hundreds by setting off bombs at the April 15 race and killed an MIT police officer during the ensuing manhunt.

While some scrawl the hashtag “#FreeJahar” on their hands with markers, an 18-year-old in Topeka, Kansas, is going to the extreme — she wants the Dzhokhar’s words inked on her arm forever.

“Getting one of Jahar’s tweets tattooed on me tomorrow. Guess you could say I’m a #FreeJahar supporter,” “@keepitbluntedd” tweeted on May 7.

The tatted-up teen, Alisha, told The Post she’d soon put Tsarnaev’s April 7 tweet on her upper inside of her arm. It will read, “If you have the knowledge and the inspiration all that’s left is to take action.”

19 Shot in Mother’s Day Shooting in Louisiana (+video)

An annual Mother’s Day second line in the Seventh Ward that normally draws hundreds came to a tragic end Sunday when gunmen fired into the crowd, striking 19 people, including two children.

The shots rang out as the celebration was winding to an end at N. Villere and Frenchmen Streets, around 1:45 p.m. Neighbors expressed both shock and outrage.

“Everybody was having fun for Mother’s Day, and next thing you know when they got right there to the stop sign, pow pow, everybody went to running,” said Lisa Garner, who lives nearby.

Just down the street, two victims collapsed on Bernadette Tyler’s porch. One was shot six times.

So, I gave my answer which is not a new idea; seal the border. But as I drove home that night I realized I didn’t give the correct answer.

My real answer is, “Why do I have to do anything to solve a problem that people created willingly for themselves?”

Mother of Slain Benghazi Official to Hillary: ‘Happy Mother’s Day’ (+video)

Photo Credit: Daily CallerOn Saturday’s episode of Fox News Channel’s “Huckabee,” Pat Smith, mother of Sean Smith, an information management officer killed in the Sept. 11, 2012 attack in Benghazi, expressed her frustration with the Obama administration for not being more forthcoming about what happened in that attack.

But first Smith had some words for former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton on Mother’s Day.

“I’m still waiting for answers to just about everything,” Smith said. “I do want to say just one thing, though. I want to wish Hillary [Clinton] a happy Mother’s Day. She’s got her child. I don’t have mine because of her.”

According to Smith, immediately following the deaths of her son and three other Americans, including then-U.S. ambassador Christopher Stevens, Clinton blamed an infamous anti-Islam YouTube video, which was said to be a non-factor in last week’s House Oversight Committee hearings on the attack.

“She blamed the video just like all the rest of them did and she also told me she was going to get back to me,” Smith said. “She was going to keep on checking on it and she would get back to me with answers. She has not. Neither has anybody else.”

John McCain Refuses to Back Impeachment of Obama Over Benghazi (+video)

Photo Credit: Huffington PostAs Republicans are increasingly calling the Obama administration’s response to the Benghazi attacks a cover-up worse than Watergate and even floating impeachment, Sen. John McCain (R-Ariz.) urged a note of caution on Sunday, saying he wasn’t yet willing to go that far.

“With all due respect, I think this is a serious issue,” said McCain on ABC’s “This Week.” “I will even give the president the benefit of the doubt on some of these things. We need a select committee.”

On Thursday, Senate Armed Services Committee Ranking Member James Inhofe (R-Okla.) accused President Barack Obama of overseeing “the most egregious cover-up in American history.” He added that “people may be starting to use the ‘I word'” before long.

Former Arksansas Gov. Mike Huckabee (R) also said on his radio show this week, “I believe that before it’s all over, this president will not fill out his full term. As bad as Watergate was because it broke the trust between the president and the people, no one died. This is more serious because four Americans did in fact die. And President Obama has yet to explain why did they die.”

McCain also defended Obama against impeachment during a late February town hall, saying, “I do not believe that the president has committed impeachable offenses — that’s high crimes.”
