WATCH: Ukrainians Shoot Russian POWs in Horrific Videos; Nazi Azov Battalion May Have Bombed Theater at Mariupol in False Flag

Ukraine to Probe After Videos Show Alleged Russian POWs Shot, Abused

By New York Post. [G]raphic videos emerged purporting to show the horrific abuse of Russian prisoners of war, including some who were shot in the legs. . .

One clip shows what appear to be Ukrainian troops removing three Russian soldiers from a van seconds before the detainees are shot in the legs.

In another video, the faces of injured and bloodied Russians are seen after hoods are removed from their heads. . .

On Sunday, a Russian official condemned the alleged brutality.

“Footage appeared on the internet in which prisoners were treated with extreme cruelty by Ukrainian nationalists. The video circulating online shows captured soldiers, being shot in both legs and not given medical assistance,” said A.I. Bastrykin, head of the Russian Federation investigative committee. The Mariupol Theater Bombing

By The American Conservative. On March 16, the Donetsk Regional Drama Theatre in Mariupol, Ukraine, was bombed. The building reportedly housed scores of civilians at the time. Maxar satellite images showed the word “CHILDREN” written in Russian in large letters on the pavement outside. The incident occurred within hours of President Volodymyr Zelensky’s virtual address to Congress, where he asked again for the United States to establish a no-fly zone over Ukraine.

Western and Ukrainian observers immediately assumed the worst. “Russian forces ‘purposefully destroyed’ theatre in Mariupol where civilians were taking shelter, Ukrainian officials say,” read a notification pushed out by Twitter. “Massive Russian attack on the Drama Theater where hundreds of innocent civilians were hiding,” tweeted Ukrainian politician Dmytro Kuleba. “Russians could not have not known this was a civilian shelter.” It seemed a clear-cut case of Muscovite barbarism in a savage war.

But days before the bombing, local reports warned that Ukrainian forces, specifically the Azov Battalion, were planning a false flag operation at the theater. Civilians would be endangered or even killed before the world’s watching eyes.

While it’s difficult to know what’s true in this conflict, numerous accounts paint the same picture: civilians being endangered, even killed, by Ukrainian forces, including Azov, in Mariupol who won’t allow them to move through humanitarian corridors.

The simplest explanation for the Drama Theater bombing is that Russia is at fault here. But these allegations, in the context of a war that has been distorted by misinformation, merit examination precisely because the incident had the supposedly desired effect. American pundits and politicians like Republican Rep. Adam Kinzinger of Illinois cited the bombing as cause for a no-fly zone. (Read more from “The Mariupol Theater Bombing” HERE)

Was Bombing of Mariupol Theater Staged by Ukrainian Azov Extremists to Trigger NATO Intervention?

By The Gray Zone. . .Western media have reported that Russia’s military deliberately attacked the Donetsk Academic Regional Drama theater in Mariupol, Ukraine, claiming that it was filled with civilians and marked with signs reading “children” on its grounds.

The supposed bombing took place just as Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky appealed to US Congress for a no fly zone, fueling the chorus for direct military confrontation with Russia and apparently inspiring President Joseph Biden to brand Vladimir Putin, the Russian president, as a “war criminal.”

A closer look reveals that local residents in Mariupol had warned three days before the March 16 incident that the theater would be the site of a false flag attack launched by the openly neo-Nazi Azov Battalion, which controlled the building and the territory around it.

Civilians that escaped the city through humanitarian corridors have testified that they were held by Azov as human shields in area, and that Azov fighters detonated parts of the theater as they retreated. Despite claims of a massive Russian airstrike that reduced the building to ashes, all civilians appear to have escaped with their lives.

Video of the attack on the theater remains unavailable at the time of publication; only photographs of the damaged structure can be viewed. The Russian Ministry of Defense has denied conducting an airstrike on the theater, asserting that the site had no military value and that no sorties were flown in the area on March 16. Russian Soldier Reportedly Runs Over Commander With Tank After ‘Deaths Of His Friends’

A Russian soldier reportedly drove over his colonel with a tank — while two other service members were caught venting about strongman Vladimir Putin’s “bulls—” invasion of Ukraine amid reports of heavy losses.

The Russian soldier who was behind the wheel of the tank “blamed the commander of the group, Col. Yury Medvedev, for the deaths of his friends,” Ukrainian journalist Roman Tsimbalyuk said on Facebook.

“Having waited for the right moment, during battle, he ran over the commander with a tank as he stood next to him, injuring both his legs,” he wrote, the Daily Beast reported.

“Now Col. Medvedev is in a hospital in Belarus, waiting for monetary compensation for combat wounds received during the ‘special military operation to protect the Donbass.’ Colonel Medvedev was awarded the Order of Courage,” he wrote.

Although there was no independent corroboration of the claim, footage released by Chechen leader and close Putin ally Ramzan Kadyrov showed Medvedev being transported to a hospital. (Read more from “Russian Soldier Reportedly Runs Over Commander With Tank After ‘Deaths Of His Friends'” HERE)

Newsweek: Russia is Avoiding Civilian Targets, Used Far Less Total Ordinance than U.S. Did in One Day in Iraq

Russia’s conduct in the brutal war tells a different story than the widely accepted view that Vladimir Putin is intent on demolishing Ukraine and inflicting maximum civilian damage—and it reveals the Russian leader’s strategic balancing act. If Russia were more intentionally destructive, the clamoring for U.S. and NATO intervention would be louder. And if Russia were all-in, Putin might find himself with no way out. Instead, his goal is to take enough territory on the ground to have something to negotiate with, while putting the government of Ukraine in a position where they have to negotiate. . .

In nearly a month since Russia invaded, dozens of Ukrainian cities and towns have fallen, and the fight over the country’s largest cities continues. United Nations human rights specialists say that some 900 civilians have died in the fighting (U.S. intelligence puts that number at least five times UN estimates). About 6.5 million Ukrainians have also become internally displaced (15 percent of the entire population), half of them leaving the country to find safety. . .

But, the analyst says, the damage associated with a contested ground war involving peer opponents shouldn’t blind people to what is really happening. (The analyst requested anonymity in order to speak about classified matters.) “The heart of Kyiv has barely been touched. And almost all of the long-range strikes have been aimed at military targets.”

.. .In the analyst’s view, though the war has led to unprecedented destruction in the south and east, the Russian military has actually been showing restraint in its long-range attacks.

As of the past weekend, in 24 days of conflict, Russia has flown some 1,400 strike sorties and delivered almost 1,000 missiles (by contrast, the United States flew more sorties and delivered more weapons in the first day of the 2003 Iraq war). The vast majority of the airstrikes are over the battlefield, with Russian aircraft providing “close air support” to ground forces. The remainder—less than 20 percent, according to U.S. experts—has been aimed at military airfields, barracks and supporting depots. (Read more about Russia avoiding civilian targets HERE)

US Envoy Downplays Expectations That New Iran Nuclear Accord Is Close

The US special envoy to Iran on Sunday chilled expectations that a new nuclear deal between Iran and world powers was imminent as 11 months of talks stalled amid Russia’s invasion of Ukraine.

”I can’t be confident it is imminent. … A few months ago we thought we were pretty close as well,” Robert Malley said at the Doha Forum international conference in Qatar.

“In any negotiations, when there’s issues that remain open for so long, it tells you something about how hard it is to bridge the gap. ”

But Malley’s assessment of the Biden administration’s efforts to revive the 2015 deal brokered by the Obama White House was at odds with comments from an Iranian official.

“Yes, it’s imminent. It depends on the political will of the United States,” Kamal Kharrazi, a senior adviser to Iran’s Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, said at the conference. (Read more from “US Envoy Downplays Expectations That New Iran Nuclear Accord Is Close” HERE)

North Korea Puts US in Nuclear Crosshairs While Biden Has to Focus on Ukraine

North Korea broke its self-imposed moratorium on long-range missile tests in spectacular fashion Thursday, successfully testing a monster intercontinental ballistic missile, believed to be the world’s largest mobile system capable of delivering multiple nuclear warheads. It was the first test of a long-range ICBM since 2017, when North Korea paused tests while pursuing a deal with former President Donald Trump.

According to North Korea’s state-run Korean Central News Agency, the new “super-large” Hwasong-17, first displayed at a military parade in 2017, was launched on what was basically a straight up and down trajectory, reaching a height of 6,248 kilometers (3,880 miles) before landing 1,090 kilometers (680 miles) in waters between North Korea and Japan.

Experts say, fired at a standard trajectory, the missile would be capable of traveling 15,000 kilometers (9,320 miles), which puts the entire U.S. mainland, including the capital Washington, D.C., in range.

“The new strategic weapon of the DPRK will clearly show the might of our strategic force to the whole world once again,” said North Korean leader Kim Jong Un, who personally gave the launch order, according to KCNA. “The success in the development of the new-type intercontinental ballistic missile,” Kim said, “is a great demonstration of the might of our self-reliant defense industry which has increased and developed with our driving force.” . . .

The surprise test prompted an immediate denunciation from Washington and a flurry of urgent phone calls from U.S. officials to their South Korea and Japanese counterparts. (Read more from “North Korea Puts US in Nuclear Crosshairs While Biden Has to Focus on Ukraine” HERE)

Here’s Why Russian Forces Can’t Take The Ukrainian Capital Of Kyiv (VIDEO)

When the Conservative Political Action Committee kicked off in late February, so did Russia’s invasion of Ukraine. It seemed by the time the conference ended; Russian troops would be in firm command of the country. The Ukrainian capital of Kyiv was projected to fall within days of the invasion. Retired Gen. Jack Keane, a regular on Fox News, did say that the Ukrainians will mount a solid defense, but they will eventually be overrun by Russian troops. Not the case. We underestimated the Ukrainians’ ability to stand their ground. We overestimated the Russian military’s supposed prowess. What happened? It seems that things have atrophied.

Russian armored tactics used to be excellent. Russian tanks are not usually blown to bits in the numbers like we’re seeing in Ukraine. To add more humiliation to Moscow’s supposed military might, armored columns have run out of gas. Everything is stalled except in the city of Mariupol which is besieged and engulfed in classic urban house-to-house fighting right now. Despite no food, water, or electricity, the Ukrainian defenders are not surrendering. Elsewhere, Russian forces are truly stuck in the mud.

Will the capital fall? As of now, no—the Russians don’t have the men or materials to capture the capital. Vladimir Putin is reportedly pressuring Belarus’ Alexander Lukashenko, but he is reluctant to deploy forces into the country. The first phase of this war is over, and Russia failed.

Frank Ledwidge of the University of Portsmouth was on DW News, Germany’s English-speaking outlet, where he noted what former CIA Director David Petraeus said on CNN, that Russia’s top-down command structure has really done them regarding operational efficiency in Ukraine. Post-Crimean annexation, Ukraine retooled its strategy and tactics. They appear to have taken to heart the notion of trusting your subordinates to get the job done. In the US, we have our non-commissioned officer corps that’s entrusted to do that—they’re the backbone of any armed forces. Russians can’t do anything without their general saying so, which is why so many of them are deployed in front-line situations which have led to them being killed by Ukrainian snipers. Ledwidge noted that this could be due to some help from Western intelligence services but the two separate thoughts on how to fight a war are on display and the Russian way is very much killing them in the field. That 40-mile-long convoy hasn’t moved in days. With reports that Russia has gone as far as they can at this point, it might become a 40-mile funeral procession, as Ukrainians are picking off these idle vehicles.

Boris Johnson: ‘Basic Facts Of Biology’ Are ‘Overwhelmingly Important’ In Transgender Issue

United Kingdom Prime Minister Boris Johnson weighed in on the debate about transgenderism in his country, saying that “the basic facts of biology remain overwhelmingly important” in conversations about the issue.

At the Prime Minister’s Questions, a weekly meeting in the British Parliament where the House of Commons asks questions of the Prime Minister, Johnson was asked by House of Commons member Angela Richardson about a review of Britain’s National Health Service funding for transgender youth. . .

Johnson told Richardson that he would be happy to meet with her. “And I think that this is one of those issues that the whole House is coming to realize, one that requires extreme sensitivity, tact, love, and care,” he added. “We must recognize that when people want to make a transition in their lives, that they should be treated with the maximum possible generosity and respect. And we have systems in this country that allow that, and have done for a long time, we should be very proud of it. But I do want to say in addition that I think when it comes to distinguishing between a man and a woman, that the basic facts of biology remain overwhelmingly important.” (Read more from “Boris Johnson: ‘Basic Facts Of Biology’ Are ‘Overwhelmingly Important’ In Transgender Issue” HERE)

Expert: Chinese Boeing 737 Brought Down by Missile or Pilot Suicide

It was unlikely that a technical issue caused the China Eastern’s horrific passenger jet crash Monday, an Australian aviation expert has said.

The aircraft, which was en route to Guangzhou after taking off from Kunming, in the southwest, was carrying 132 people. The Boeing 737-800 plunged into a mountain near the southern Chinese city of Wuzhou. . .

Aviation expert Neil Hansford raised doubts about the cause of the crash, saying there could be four likely scenarios that led to the catastrophe. However, he ruled out technical issues.

“Even with total loss of power, no aircraft plummets to the ground from 20,000 feet in two minutes with an event at 8,000 feet,” Hansford explained to News.com.au. “I think aircraft technical failure can be ruled out and it will be an external event… I would get on a Boeing 737-800 in an instant with an Australian carrier, so my suggestion would be it won’t be Boeing or aircraft technical related.” . . .

“My tipping is a human-induced event or bought down by rogue missile. Debris looks like MH117 over Ukraine, and the Chinese are providing too much information this time which is uncharacteristic,” he was quoted as saying by News.com.au. Russian Officials Endorse Lara Logan’s Comments Linking Ukrainian Soldiers to Nazis and Occultism

Kremlin-affiliated officials on Twitter endorsed war correspondent Lara Logan’s comments after she linked Ukrainian battalions to Nazis and Third-Reich occultism, and dismissed Russia’s invasion as having caused a humanitarian crisis in the former Soviet republic. . .

She added, “There’s a long history of the United States and our intelligence agencies funding and arming Nazis in Ukraine.” Logan continued to point out that there are photographs available online depicting Ukrainian soldiers holding up the NATO flag alongside Nazi emblems like the swastika and black sun.

Snippets of her conversation were widely spread by the verified accounts of Russian officials, like Russia’s deputy permanent representative to the United Nations Alexander Alimov. The official account for Russia’s Council of Europe — whose rights of representation were recently suspended — also tweeted the conversation.

One of World’s Most Populous, Most Vaccinated Nations Suddenly Erupts With COVID After Two Years of Almost No Cases

By Daily Caller. South Korea is suddenly experiencing a huge wave of Omicron subvariant BA.2 cases after very few reported cases of COVID-19 since February 2020.

The country is home to 52 million people and is currently averaging 400,000 cases per day, according to Hot Air. On March 17, the number of reported cases rose by 55%, totaling 621,328 with 429 deaths in the same 24-hour period, reported the Washington Post.

To put into context how enormous this outbreak is, Hot Air stated that it is the equivalent of 2.5 million cases per day in the United States if adjusted for population. The highest number of Omicron cases in the U.S. last year was 800,000 per day, so South Korea is currently experiencing nearly three times the number of cases per capita, the outlet continued.
