Iran Declares Victory Over U.S. In Speech at United Nations

Iranian President Ebrahim Raisi declared “victory” over the United States and “the old liberal order” during his appearance at the U.N. General Assembly.

“The endeavors to universalize American ideals throughout the world have proven to be failures,” Raisi told world leaders assembled in New York. “There is a collective hope for the establishment of a novel and equitable world order. Central to the forthcoming international order is the abandonment of global arrogance in favor of regional cooperation and orders.”

Raisi struck that triumphalist note just days after the first anniversary of the death of Mahsa Amini, a 22-year-old woman who was in the custody of Iran’s so-called morality police when she died, sparking nationwide protests. The Iranian president derided that public outcry, which he attributed to foreign influence.

“Last year was the year of the victory of the people of Iran,” Raisi said, per a live U.N. interpreter. “Certain Western nations and their intelligence services during the past year made a grave mistake by the miscalculation that didn’t [fail] to diminish and undervalue and underestimate the power of the Iranian people.” (Read more from “Iran Declares Victory Over U.S. In Speech at United Nations” HERE)

Chinese Military Conducts Massive Dispatch of Jets Near Taiwan

China’s military stepped up its provocative military operations around Taiwan over the weekend, flying over 100 military aircraft near the island democracy it has vowed one day to take over.

A total of 103 jets were detected on Sunday and 40 of the planes crossed the median line down the middle of the 100-mile-wide Taiwan Strait, the Taiwan Defense Ministry disclosed in a post on X, the site formerly known as Twitter. Nine PLA navy vessels also were spotted, the ministry said.

The Chinese warplanes included 10 Su-30s, 12 J-10s, four J-11s, 10 J-16s, two Y-20 refueling tankers and two KJ-500 warning and control jets.

The latest demonstration followed major PLA war games around Taiwan from Sept. 11-15 that included 20 warships, among them the aircraft carrier Shandong and two other action groups of destroyers and frigates. Taipei said that in response Taiwanese jets were scrambled, naval vessels deployed, and land-based missile systems activated.

The observance of the unofficial maritime dividing line between Taiwan and the Chinese mainland had until recently been a key tool in maintaining a fragile status quo. Analysts say the median-line crossings are the latest indication China is challenging the status quo despite repeated U.S. and Taiwanese complaints. West Must Prepare for a ‘Long War in Ukraine’ Says NATO Chief

NATO chief Jens Stoltenberg warned Sunday that the West must make preparations for a “long war in Ukraine,” and declaring that there is “no doubt” Ukraine will eventually join the American-led military alliance.

In an interview with the German Funke media group, the Norwegian politician threw cold water on the notion of the conflict between Russia and Ukraine coming to an end any time soon.

“Most wars last longer than expected when they first begin,” Stoltenberg said per France24. “Therefore we must prepare ourselves for a long war in Ukraine.”

“We are all wishing for a quick peace,” the NATO Secretary General continued. “But at the same time, we must recognise: if President Zelensky and the Ukrainians stop fighting, their country will no longer exist. If President Putin and Russia lay down their weapons, we will have peace.” . . .

On top of predicting a long conflict, Secretary General Stoltenberg, whose term in the NATO top role was artificially extended earlier this year due to the war in Eastern Europe, went on to proclaim that “there is no doubt that Ukraine will eventually be in NATO.” (Read more from “West Must Prepare for a ‘Long War in Ukraine’ Says NATO Chief” HERE)

The Taliban Has Detained an American, and 18 Others, for Promoting ‘Christianity’

An American has been captured and taken hostage by the Taliban after the group raided the offices of a Swiss nonprofit group based in Afghanistan for allegedly promoting Christianity.

On Friday, the International Assistance Mission (IAM) confirmed that the Taliban had detained the American worker and 18 others after the radical group stormed its offices in Ghor, just 400 miles outside of Kabul.

Since the Taliban seized control of the country two years ago, NGOs have become a more significant threat. The group introduced harsh measures, banning Afghan women from education after the sixth grade and from public life and work— including working for NGOs.

Three members, including the American, were taken in the first raid, and the 15 others were taken ten days later. However, they are being held in an unknown location in Kabul— the site of President Joe Biden’s 2021 botched Afghanistan withdrawal. UFO Whistleblower ‘Disappointed’ With Mexico’s Display of ‘Non-Human Alien Corpses’

The former Navy pilot who testified in front of U.S. Congress during the much-anticipated hearing on Unidentified Aerial Phenomena (UAP) over the summer called the display of two so-called non-human alien corpses in a Mexican congressional hearing “a huge step backwards for this issue.”

Mexico’s Congress made global headlines on Tuesday after alleged experts who study extraterrestrials unveiled 1,000-year-old “alien corpses” nestled in a glass display during its first hearing on UFOs. . .

“After the U.S. Congressional UFO hearing, I accepted an invitation to testify before the Mexican Congress hoping to keep up the momentum of government interest in pilot experiences with UAP,” Graves said. “Unfortunately, yesterday’s demonstration was a huge step backwards for this issue.”

“My testimony centered on sharing my experience and the UAP reports I hear from commercial and military aircrew through ASA’s witness program. I will continue to raise awareness of UAP as an urgent matter of aerospace safety, national security, and science, but I am deeply disappointed by this unsubstantiated stunt.”

Graves was one of three witnesses who addressed the House Subcommittee on National Security, the Border, and Foreign Affairs during the hearing on UAPs in late July. He was joined by Retired Navy Commander David Fravor and decorated military veteran and intelligence official-turned-whistleblower David Grusch. Putin Welcomes Kim Jong Un at Cosmodrome for Meeting That Shows How Leaders Are Coming Together

North Korean leader Kim Jong Un arrived at a cosmodrome in Russia’s Far East on Wednesday for a meeting with Russian President Vladimir Putin that underscores how the two leaders’ interests are aligning in the face of their separate, intensifying confrontations with the United States.

Putin welcomed Kim at the entrance to a launch vehicle assembly building.

The two men shook hands and Putin said he was “very glad to see” Kim. Kim’s translator thanked Putin for the warm welcome, “despite being busy.”

The two leaders will inspect the cosmodrome and then sit down for talks, Russian state media reported.

Hours earlier, North Korea fired two ballistic missiles toward the sea, extending a highly provocative run in North Korean weapons testing since the start of 2022, as Kim used the distraction caused by Putin’s war on Ukraine to accelerate his weapons development. Estimated 300,000 Impacted by Earthquake in Morocco, With at Least 2,000 Dead

A magnitude 3.9 aftershock rattled Moroccans on Sunday as they prayed for victims of the nation’s strongest earthquake in more than a century and worked to rescue survivors while soldiers and workers brought water and supplies to mountain villages in ruins. More than 2,000 people are dead – a number that is expected to rise.

The United Nations estimated that 300,000 people were affected by Friday night’s magnitude 6.8 quake and some Moroccans complained on social networks that the government wasn’t allowing more help from outside. International aid crews were prepared to deploy, but remained in limbo waiting for the Morocco government to request their assistance.

“We know there is a great urgency to save people and dig under the remains of buildings,” said Arnaud Fraisse, founder of Rescuers Without Borders, who had a team stuck in Paris waiting for the green light. “There are people dying under the rubble, and we cannot do anything to save them.” (Read more from “Estimated 300,000 Impacted by Earthquake in Morocco, With at Least 2,000 Dead” HERE)

Inside Kim Jong Un’s Bulletproof Train That He’ll Take To Meet Putin, With Entertainment by ‘Lady Conductors’

. . .Kim Jong Un is gearing up to ride the rails of luxury into eastern Russia, where North Korea’s leader is expected to meet Vladimir Putin about supplying weapons to bolster Russia’s invasion of Ukraine, US officials said earlier this week.

The 39-year-old Kim’s private train service was inherited from his father, former dictator Kim Jong Il, and created out of a fear of flying.

The cars are bulletproof, and this convoy certainly won’t be mistaken for a bullet train — the armored protection is so heavy that average speeds top out at 37 mph. . .

The train is believed to be outfitted with conference rooms paneled in dark wood, as well as multiple bedrooms, satellite phones, flatscreen TVs and roughly 100 security agents who scan routes and upcoming stations for bombs and other threats. . .

To spice up the ride, a group of female performers known as “beautiful lady conductors” frequently serenaded the elder Kim in Korean and Russian, Pulikovsky wrote. (Read more from “Inside Kim Jong Un’s Bulletproof Train That He’ll Take To Meet Putin, With Entertainment by ‘Lady Conductors'” HERE)

This Country Just Decriminalized Abortion

Mexico’s Supreme Court deemed all federal penalties for abortion unconstitutional, announcing the controversial decision in the predominantly Catholic country in a social media post on Wednesday evening.

The court’s First Chamber issued a ruling saying that the federal criminal code that penalizes abortion “violates the human rights of women and persons with the capacity to gestate.”

The ruling responds to legal challenges regarding three statutes in the Mexican criminal code that sanction women who choose abortion, health professionals who perform abortions, and those who pressure pregnant women to abort. (Read more from “This Country Just Decriminalized Abortion” HERE)

Cuba Says It Busted Russian Op to Recruit for War in Ukraine; Not Everyone Is Convinced

Cuba‘s government claims to have uncovered a Russian operation to enlist its citizens to fight in the war in Ukraine, but not everyone is convinced Havana is being honest.

A release from the Caribbean nation said criminal proceedings are underway in an effort to dismantle the human trafficking network for military recruiting purposes.

The announcement from the country’s Foreign Ministry said the operation targeted Cuban citizens living in Russia as well as in Cuba.

“Cuba plays no role in the war in Ukraine,” the statement said, according to NPR.

“It is acting and will act vigorously against whoever, from the national territory, participates in any form of human trafficking for the purposes of recruitment of mercenaries so that Cuban citizens use weapons against any country,” it added.
