Newest NATO Country Escalates Prosecution of Christians for Quoting the Bible

In an appeals court Thursday, Helsinki’s top prosecutor said publicly quoting the Bible and publishing a booklet about Christian sexual ethics violates Finland’s “hate speech” law. The appeal escalates this U.S. ally’s prosecution of dissidents from leftist politics, a marker of repressive regimes.

The prosecutor has charged Member of Parliament Paivi Rasanen and Bishop Juhana Pohjola for writing and publishing, respectively, a booklet supporting natural marriage.

“This [case] is a God-given wake up call for Christians and others worried about the direction our society is going,” Pohjola said in a post-court press conference Friday morning U.S. time. He noted convicting a religious leader for publishing theological documents would in effect criminalize Christianity in Finland and encourage similar oppression worldwide.

Rasanen is also criminally charged with posting a Bible verse to X (formerly Twitter) and stating Christian theology in a radio interview. The prosecutor wants all recordings of the radio interview taken down and the booklet to be unavailable online, and fines levied against both Christians.

“The content of my writings and my speeches represents the classical Christian view of marriage and sexuality, the same as the Churches have generally taught for two millennia,” Rasanen said in a statement. “I do not condone insulting, threatening or slandering anyone, and my statements have not included content of such a nature. I consider this matter to be a theological discussion that should not be in a courtroom.” (Read more from “Newest NATO Country Escalates Prosecution of Christians for Quoting the Bible” HERE)

Kim Jong Un Expected to Meet With Putin for Weapons Talks: Reports

North Korean leader Kim Jong Un may soon meet with Russian President Vladimir Putin for negotiations on weapons, according to multiple reports on Monday.

Senior administration officials told The Washington Post that Kim plans to make a rare trip out of North Korea to meet with Putin later this month.

The New York Times, citing American and allied officials, reported that Kim would travel from North Korea’s capital of Pyongyang to the Russian port city of Vladivostok — probably by armored train. The duo previously met in the same city, which is not far from North Korea’s border with Russia, in 2019.

With this new round of talks, Putin aims to secure more weapons for its war in Ukraine, such as artillery shells and anti-tank missiles, while Kim wants access to Russia’s advanced technology on nuclear submarines and satellites as well as food assistance for his starving country of roughly 26 million people, officials told the New York Times. Kim could also make other stops, including at the Vostochny Cosmodrome space launch center and even Moscow. (Read more from “Kim Jong Un Expected to Meet With Putin for Weapons Talks: Reports” HERE)

Russia Deploys Intercontinental Ballistic Missile for ‘Combat Duty’

The head of Russia’s Roscosmos space agency said Friday that the country has deployed an advanced intercontinental ballistic missile that President Vladimir Putin once said will make Russia’s enemies “think twice.”

Agency head Yuri Borisov said Sarmat missiles have been placed on combat duty, according to Russian news agencies. Further details were not reported.

The Sarmat is one of several advanced weapons whose development Putin announced in 2018. The silo-based missile, capable of carrying multiple nuclear warheads, is intended to replace the R-36 ICBMs that are known by the NATO reporting name of Satan.

Excavation Comes up Empty: Zero Bodies Have Been Recovered From Canada’s ‘Unmarked Mass Graves’

A recent excavation project commissioned by a Native American leader at a Catholic church found no evidence of human remains, again casting doubt on allegations of Canada’s so-called “unmarked mass graves.”

Canada was rocked two years ago by reports of hundreds, or even thousands, of these alleged “unmarked mass graves” of Native American children at residential schools, which were funded by the Canadian government and run by Catholics and other Christians. So far, not a single body has been recovered.

Reports from this summer indicated that there could be the remains of 60 children on the premises, and then ground-penetrating radar found 14 “anomalies” in the basement of Our Lady of Seven Sorrows church, which sits beside the former Pine Creek Residential School. Like the dozen other reports before this one, the media suggested these “anomaly” detections were likely the bodies of children who were apparently killed or neglected to the point of death and then secretly buried in these “unmarked graves.” Wanting answers, Chief Derek Nepinak of Pine Creek First Nation helped commission an excavation, which started on July 24 and lasted about four weeks. In August, the chief announced that the team from the University of Brandon found no human remains.

“The archaeological team we hired from the University of Brandon, which is the same archaeological team relied upon by regional police agencies when doing archaeological excavations, found no conclusive evidence of human remains in their excavation of the ground under the church basement,” Chief Nepinak said. Russian Official Says the US Is Turning Ukrainians Into a ‘Gay Zombie Army’

“These renewed troops of Ukraine’s Armed Forces, zombified and unified through gay sex, along with cult members ready to sacrifice themselves. This is what they’re preparing for us in the spring 2025.”

These were the words of Sergei Markov, a Russian political scientist and former advisor to Russian President Vladimir Putin during a recent television appearance on Russian state television.

Markov is a former member of the Russian State Duma, the lower house of the country’s federal legislative body, a professor of political science at Moscow State University, and a lecturer on philosophy. He’s also known for his wild reactionary statements. His claim that the Ukrainian Army will suddenly become homosexual supersoldiers is just the latest.

“Military theorists and historians know which army in Greece was the strongest, remember? The Spartans! They were united by a homosexual brotherhood. These were the politics of their leadership. I think they are planning the same for Ukraine’s Armed Forces,” Markov said.

Markov is correct in his assertion that homosexuality in ancient Greece, and especially Sparta, was the norm. Historians Plato and Plutarch wrote extensively about the Spartan customs. Spartans were also one of many Greek forces remembered as elite warriors today. His assertion that the Spartans’ battlefield prowess was the result of their sexual relationships is less clear to historians. Experts Baffled by Unique, Mysterious Jerusalem Structure From First Temple Era (VIDEO)

Archaeologists recently unearthed two unique structures used for an unclear purpose during the First Temple period 2,800 years ago in Jerusalem’s Old City, the Israel Antiquities Authority said Wednesday.

The installations, dating to around the 9th century BCE and found at the City of David archaeological site, were likely an important part of the economy, due to their proximity to the royal palace and temple, the IAA stated.

Researchers have struggled to pinpoint their precise use since no site of its kind has ever been found in Israel.

“The excavators found the first installation at the northeastern end of the Givati Parking Lot excavation, which includes a series of at least nine channels that were smoothed. On top of the rock cliff that encloses the installation to the south can be found seven drain pipes, which carried liquid from the top of the cliff, which served as an activity area, to the channel installation,” the IAA said in its description of the site. Pushing Back: Canada’s Conservatives Begin to Oppose Trudeau’s Transgenderism

Canadian conservative politicians are beginning to roll back Prime Minister Justin Trudeau’s pro-transgender policies.

On Monday, the right-of-center conservative government in Ontario announced that parents should be told when their children adopt an opposite-sex persona in schools.

“We understand though that parents must be fully involved and fully aware of what’s happening in the life of their children,” said Stephen Lecce, the education minister of Ontario, which is Canada’s largest province.

Lecce is a member of the Progressive Conservative Party, which is headed by Ontario Premier Doug Ford. He added:

I mean, often there are health implications [of transsexualism], and I think we have to respect the rights of parents and recognize that these can be life-changing decisions, and I think parents want to be involved so that they can support their kids. And I think that’s a really important principle that we must uphold.

Entitled: Zelensky Says He Won’t Hold Elections Unless Americans Pay For Them

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky has demanded that taxpayers in the United States and European Union send the country even more aid if the West wishes for elections to be held next year.

In an interview published by the president’s office on Sunday evening, Zelensky said that he would be willing to hold elections despite the ongoing martial law amid the war with Russia, so long as the U.S. and EU bankroll the voting process.

The Ukrainian leader said that elections during peacetime typically cost around 5 billion hryvnia ($135 million) but did not speculate as to how much more they would cost during a war, though presumably it would be much higher.

Zelensky said that he discussed the topic of funding for the 2024 elections with U.S. Republican Senator Lindsey Graham, who has been one of the staunchest supporters of sending more aid to Ukraine on Capitol Hill.

“I told [Sen. Graham]: If the United States and Europe give us financial support… I’m sorry, I will not hold elections on credit, I will not take money from weapons and give it to elections either. But if you give me this financial support, if the parliamentarians realize that we need to do this, then let’s quickly change the legislation and, most importantly, let’s take risks together,” Zelensky said. Putin Breaks Silence on Prigozhin’s Plane Crash

Russian President Vladimir Putin on Thursday made his first comments about Wagner Group leader Yevgeny Prigozhin’s presumed death in a plane crash.

“I’ve known Prigozhin for a very long time, since the early 1990s. He was a man with no easy fate. He made some serious mistakes in his life, but he also achieved the needed results—both for himself and, when I asked him, for the common cause,” Putin said during a televised meeting, according to the Kremlin-controlled news agency Tass.

Putin’s comments are the closest words yet in way of confirmation regarding Prigozhin’s death. The founder of the mercenary Wagner organization was listed as a passenger on a jet that crashed in Russia’s Tver region on Wednesday, killing all 10 people aboard.

Prigozhin was once a close ally of Putin, and his Wagner Group grew to prominence during the war in Ukraine after Putin’s formal military suffered a string of defeats at the ends of Kyiv’s forces. More recently, though, Prigozhin fell out of favor with the Kremlin after he accused Russia’s military of attacking his troops before launching a brief mutiny against Moscow in late June that ended shortly after it began. Ukraine Hoists Flag During Operation in Occupied Crimea

Ukraine’s military conducted an overnight operation on the Russian-occupied Crimea Peninsula.

The Defense Intelligence of Ukraine, with navy support, launched the attack from the water and came up near the Olenivka and Maiak settlements on the western tip of Crimea, the Ukrainian Defense Ministry’s Main Directorate of Intelligence said in a statement.

“When performing the task, Ukrainian defenders engaged in [a] combat clash with the units of [R]ussian occupiers. As a result, the enemy suffered personnel and equipment losses. Also, the National Flag has been hoisted once again in the Ukrainian Crimea,” the statement continued. “All objectives and tasks were fulfilled. As the special operation was completed, Ukrainian defenders left the scene without casualties.”

The statement did not specify what the goals of the mission were, despite saying the goal was accomplished. Thursday is Ukrainian Independence Day. (Read more from “Ukraine Hoists Flag During Operation in Occupied Crimea” HERE)
