Pornography and Sex Trafficking Are ‘Completely Interwoven,’ Activists Warn

Pornography and sex trafficking are issues that fuel one another, contributing to a high demand for sex and a dangerously sexual culture, activists warn.

Anti-sex trafficking activists who spoke with the Daily Caller News Foundation said the porn industry fuels demand for violent, obscene, or child-related sexual fantasies, prompting porn consumers to sex, through pimps, from sex-trafficking victims. Activists also maintain that pimps engaged in sex trafficking blackmail victims through sexually explicit videos and sell victims to producers of pornography.

“It’s completely interwoven, porn and sex trafficking, and you find the same characters in both,” anti-trafficking activist and SHAREtogether founder Jaco Booyens said. “Many of the women and girls who are in the porn industry are actively being sex trafficked.” . . .

Pornography has become an increasingly divisive topic throughout the world as anti-porn groups argue that porn has incredibly addictive and destructive qualities feeding an ever-growing and demanding industry. . .

Ninety-three percent of boys and 62% of girls are exposed to pornography during their youth, according to a 2017 research summary on pornography and public health from the National Center on Sexual Exploitation. The summary found that 49% of college-aged males first encountered pornography before they reached their teens, and 64% of people between the ages of 13 and 24 actively seek out porn at least once a week. TSA Agent Tricked Traveler Into Baring Breasts

A federal Transportation Security Administration agent tricked a traveler into twice showing him her breasts as she went through security at one of the world’s busiest airports, California’s attorney said.

Attorney General Xavier Becerra said Johnathon Lomeli, 22, was working at Los Angeles International Airport in June when he used fraud or deceit to falsely imprison the woman. Lomeli was arrested early Thursday at his home.

He first said he had to look inside her bra to make sure she wasn’t hiding anything, then had her hold her pants away from her waist so he could look inside, she told investigators.

He subsequently took her to what he said would be a private room for more security screening, according to an arrest affidavit. But once they were alone on an elevator, she said he told her he could do the screening right there.

The woman said Lomeli told her he had to make sure she still had nothing in her bra, requiring her to lift her shirt “to show me your full breasts.” He also again looked down her pants, she said, before telling her she was free to go and adding that she had nice breasts. ‘Christian’ Buttigieg Refuses to Say He Does Not Support Infanticide

2020 presidential candidate Pete Buttigieg refused Thursday to say whether he supports infanticide.

Buttigieg spoke with The View’s Meghan McCain regarding his stance on abortions Thursday morning. McCain reminded Buttigieg that he once suggested that unborn babies can be aborted up until they draw their first breath, and offered Buttigieg a chance to walk back this statement, noting that Democratic Virginia Gov. Ralph Northam’s infanticide comments have accelerated the discussion of when a woman should be able to have an abortion. . .

“I’m just pointing to the fact that different people will interpret their own moral lights, and for that matter, interpret scripture differently,” he said. “But we live in a country where it is extremely important that no one person has to be subjected to some other person’s interpretation of their own religion.”

The 2020 presidential candidate added that his point was that “it shouldn’t be up to a government official to draw the line. It should be up to the woman.” . . .

“Think about the situation. If this is a late-term situation, then by definition it’s one where a woman was expecting to carry the pregnancy to term. Then she gets the most perhaps devastating news of her life. We’re talking about families that may have picked out a name, maybe assembling a crib and they learn something, excruciating, and are faced with this terrible choice,” the former South Bend, Indiana, mayor said. Franklin Graham Dropped From All UK Tour Venues for Speaking out Against Homosexuality

The Rev. Franklin Graham, a popular evangelist and son of the late Rev. Billy Graham, is planning a four-month gospel-preaching tour through the United Kingdom this summer. . .

CNN reported that on Wednesday an arena in Newcastle became the seventh and final venue to cancel Graham’s scheduled appearance, following similar cancellations by venues in cities across the U.K., including Birmingham, Liverpool, Sheffield, and Glasgow. . .

Forbes, who claims that Graham “peddles controversial, repulsive views about LGBT people” said he was “delighted” to hear the news. . .

More than 5,000 people had signed a petition put on by Northern Pride calling for the event to be canceled. The petition argued that Graham has “publicly promoted homophobia.”

Similar protests have erupted in other U.K. cities over recent weeks. Soldier Forgets About Dog in Military Housing, Judge Orders Custody, Increases Bail to $50,000

A Fort Bragg soldier charged with animal cruelty and neglect after authorities say a dog was found dead and locked in a cage in his former apartment made his first court appearance Tuesday at the Cumberland County Detention Center.

Wearing an orange jumpsuit, Demareo Jones, 21, stood before District Court Judge April Smith, who increased Jones’ bail from $10,000 to $50,000.

If Jones is able to post bail, Smith ordered him not to have any contact with animals, including fish. . .

On Dec. 27, officials at the apartment community where Jones formerly lived conducted a final walk-through of his apartment.

Jury Forced to View Nude Photos of Harvey Weinstein

Jurors in Harvey Weinstein’s rape trial were shown five naked photos of the disgraced Hollywood producer in a New York City courtroom on Tuesday.

The jurors were told to review photos in a manner so the spectators couldn’t see them. Two of the jurors appeared to grimace and another raised his eyebrows as they looked at the images of Weinstein, 67. . .

The decision came after Jessica Mann, 34, who Weinstein is accused of raping in a hotel room in 2013, provided shocking testimony on Friday that when she first saw the movie mogul, he appeared “deformed” or “intersex.”

Though defense objected as “to relevance to this case” to the pictures being shown to the juror, the judge allowed it but they were not shown to the audience. Jurors looked at a few photographs one by one and then passed them around to the juror sitting next to them.

Trump Surprises Wife With Her Husband’s Homecoming From Deployment (VIDEO)

President Donald Trump surprised an Army wife during Tuesday’s State of the Union address, bringing her husband home from Afghanistan and directly into the chamber.

Trump began by introducing Amy Williams and her two children, speaking of their sacrifice as the family of a soldier on his fourth deployment.

“War places a heavy burden on our extraordinary military families,” Trump said. “Especially spouses like Amy Williams from Fort Bragg, North Carolina and her two children, six-year-old Eliana and three-year-old Roland. Amy helps other military families. For the past seven months, her husband has been in Afghanistan for seven months on his fourth deployment. Amy’s kids had not seen their father’s face in many months. Your sacrifice makes it possible for all of our people to live in safety and in peace and we want to thank you. Thank you, Amy.”

Joe Biden Kisses Granddaughter on Lips During Iowa Rally

Democratic presidential candidate Joe Biden gave his 19-year-old granddaughter a kiss on the lips during a campaign rally in Iowa on Sunday, prompting some grossed-out responses on social media.

The former vice president entered the event at Clarke University in Dubuque holding the hand of Finnegan Biden, the daughter of his son Hunter.

“I would like to introduce you to my granddaughter Finnegan Biden. The reason I asked Finnegan — grandfathers are always allowed to embarrass their granddaughters — that goes along with the territory,” said Biden, 77, his hand over her shoulder. “Her other grandma graduated from Clarke College in the mid-’60s and talks about it all the time.”

He then described the difference between daughters and granddaughters to the crowd as he walked around the stage before circling back to Finnegan.

White, Leftist Women Are Paying $2500 to Confront Their Own Racism

Groups of white, liberal women are paying upwards of $2500 to confront their own “racism” and “privilege” over salad and spaghetti carbonara at “privilege” dinner parties hosted by a new group called “Race 2 Dinner,” according to The Guardian.

Race 2 Dinner is designed to “smash your white fragility” and help women confront their “complicity” in “oppression” in a confrontational setting, the group says, but with the added benefit of food and alcohol, and facilitators who are also white, so as not to cause upper crust progressives any undue discomfort.

The program is the brainchild of Regina Jackson and Saira Rao, both of whom are outspoken progressives. Rao even has a track record of social media outbursts (including missives about how the American flag makes her “sick,” and how minorities who disagree with her are examples of “tokenism” and “gaslighting”), and as a failed Justice Democrats candidate.

For $2500, Jackson and Rao will attend a dinner for 8-10 white women and confront the guests about their white privilege. They ask questions like, “What was a racist thing you did recently?” and “What is your racism?” so that the women, most of whom are professed Democrats, can dig deep into their own lives and accept their biases, “however subconscious.”

Jackson and Rao target liberal white women specifically; they’ve “written off” the 53% of white women who voted for President Donald Trump as abject, admitted, racists or the brainwashed partners of Patriarchial leaders. Airline Drops Chocolate Supplier Over Owner’s Affiliation With Pro-Life Christian Group

Swiss Air Lines has dropped chocolate manufacturer Läderach over its owner’s affiliation with a pro-life, pro-family Christian organization.

For more than 10 years, Läderach had supplied the airline with small boxes of chocolates that were given to some passengers as a token of appreciation.

Following months of negative headlines, Swiss Air Lines decided to cut ties with the chocolatier that recently has expanded into North America, running stores in both New York City and Toronto. Sweets made by Läderach will be phased out by April 2020, the airline announced. . .

Jürg Läderach, owner of the chocolate manufacturer, is the president of “christianity for today” (cft), an evangelical organization based in Switzerland. CEO Johannes Läderach also serves on the board of cft.

Among other things, cft is one of the sponsors of the March for Life taking place in different locations in Switzerland every year.
