Airline Sued Over Creepy Texts Sent to Female Passenger by Employee During Her Flight (VIDEO)

A woman says that she was stalked by an American Airlines employee during her flight and she’s suing the company for not taking her complaint seriously.

Ashley Barno said she received mysterious texts as she boarded a flight at San Diego International Airport in April. . .

That’s when he told her that his name was “Ahmed” and that he worked for the airlines. She believes he obtained her phone number from the luggage tag on her carry-on bag.

“I am on board now. Are you going to Chicago too??” he texted after they boarded. . .

“Just knowing that he knew what I looked like, and that we were in an enclosed flight, on an enclosed plane, and there’s no way out, like, really really scared me,” she told NBC-7 in New York.

‘1917’ Star Reflects on Grueling Conditions the Cast Endured for Best Picture of the Year

Director Sam Mendes can hold his Best Director and Best Picture of the Year Golden Globes up high. Truly, once the Hollywood Foreign Press Association saw the extended one-shot Mendes pulled off for his epic war thriller, “1917,” the other contenders didn’t have a prayer.

What Mendes has achieved on the silver screen is nothing short of remarkable. “1917” pushes the editing boundaries by giving us one continuous shot of a daring mission in World War I. . .

The cast and crew filmed “1917” in a series of long shots that stick together to appear as though it’s one take, Chapman explained to Townhall in an interview on Wednesday. The longest shot, the actor recalled, was almost nine minutes long. They rehearsed for six months to get their chemistry with the cameras just right.

“The whole thing was choreographed,” Chapman said. “It literally was a dance between the camera and the actor. We were genuinely bouncing off of each other. So if I stepped a bit too far to my left and the camera would adjust where if the camera wasn’t quite ready, then I would hold my line and wait for the camera to fill in on my face. It was this whole flow and rhythm between the two things gelling together.” . . .

Chapman was perhaps also so in tune with his character, Corporal Blake, because of the realistic conditions in which they filmed. The actor once played Billy Elliott in London’s West End. It’s a three-hour show with a series of extended dance sequences. And Billy is in every scene. University Student Almost Thrown in Jail for Using the N-Word

A University of Connecticut student who was arrested for using the n-word has narrowly avoided jail.

Jarred Karal was arrested after he was filmed walking through a parking lot and shouting the word “n*gger.” He was with two other individuals, one of whom was also arrested.

The students claimed they were playing a game centered around screaming vulgar words, but were charged under CGS 53-37, “ridicule on account of creed, religion, color, denomination, nationality or race.”

Karal was originally facing up to 30 days in jail, but a judge accepted Karal’s plea for accelerated rehabilitation, under which he will spend 6 months on probation while completing 20 hours of community service.

Millennials Can Make $100K Working at Taco Bell

Millennials are now considered “generation broke” with their insurmountable student debts, near-record auto loans, high credit card balances with rates at two-decade highs, and limited savings. Many are stuck in the gig-economy with more than one job. Finding a high-paying job this late in an economic expansion is hard to come across.

So paging all millennials, a new press release via Taco Bell details how the Tex-Mex fast-food restaurant is planning a pilot program to hire managers with a starting salary of $100,000 at company-owned restaurants in select markets. . .

“We are constantly exploring new ways to invest in our people, enhance morale and boost recruitment and retention,” Ferril Onyett, Taco Bell’s senior director of global training and international HR, told MarketWatch in an emailed statement. Managers have “a huge impact” on the restaurant performance, customer experience, and “team member satisfaction,” she added.

Army Reserve Command Accused of Not Taking Sexual Assault Allegations Seriously

Leaders of an Army Reserve command that oversees thousands of soldiers are accused of mishandling sexual assault claims.

Amy Braley Franck, a victim advocate with the 416th Theater Engineer Command, claimed that military leaders within the unit did not follow military procedures or federal law in investigating at least two sexual assault claims, according to the Associated Press. Braley Franck joined the unit as an advocate in February 2019 and was suspended on Nov. 20 for potentially violating ethics codes, which Braley Franck denies. . .

In one case, two soldiers reported to Capt. Joseph Runhke that a male specialist assaulted a female private on two occasions in September 2017 and April 2018. Runhke spoke to the woman, and she said both encounters were consensual, according to documents provided by Braley Franck. The investigation should have been handled by an independent investigator, according to Department of Defense policy and federal law.

In another case, Spc. Sara Joachimstaler reported that a sergeant inappropriately touched her leg during a car ride in March 2019 and groped her during a demonstration on tying someone up with a rope in April.

Joachimstaler said her commanders did nothing about her claim and blocked it from being investigated until she went to Braley Franck, who referred it to the Army’s Criminal Investigations Division in June. Woman Sues Mormon Church After It Reported Her Husband Sexually Abusing Their Daughter to Police

A woman is suing the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints because it reported her husband to authorities after he confessed to sexually abusing their minor daughter, according to the Salem Statesmen Journal.

The woman, Kristine Johnson, is suing the church for $9.54 million, accusing it of violating confidentiality and breaching “priest-penitent privilege.” The Mormon church has faced backlash in the past for not being forthcoming about such matters with authorities.

Kristine learned of her husband’s abuse of their daughter in 2016. Instead of going to authorities, they followed church protocol by having the husband, Timothy Johnson, confess the sin to church clergy and repent. Kristine claims the church officials failed to tell Timothy that if he confessed that crime to the church, they would report him to police.

Timothy Johnson was arrested and charged in 2017, and pleaded guilty to four counts of second-degree sexual abuse and received a 15-year prison sentence. . .

The $9.54 million sought in the lawsuit includes $5.5 million for Kristine for the loss of Timothy’s income, $1 million for each of their children, and $40,000 for the criminal defense attorney used in the case. PETA Goes OFF on AOC for Buying a Dog

Animal rights organization PETA wagged their finger at Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez for buying a dog instead of getting one from a shelter.

“With the millions of homeless dogs out there, you apparently chose to buy a purebred puppy instead of adopting one from an animal shelter,” PETA president Ingrid Newkirk said in a Thursday letter to the New York Democrat. “Right this minute, on Petfinder alone, there are more than 110,000 dogs — including French bulldogs — who need homes. Animal shelters are bursting at the seams with hundreds of thousands more, many of whom will be ‘put to sleep’ for lack of a home.”

Ocasio-Cortez shared news of her new dog earlier this week on Instagram, showing a picture of her dog in a pet cage. “We are thinking something Star Trek related or Bronx/Queens/NYC/social good related,” she said.

The animal rights organization president begged Ocasio-Cortez to be “part of the solution” to end the “dog-overpopulation crisis” instead of adding to it. “Consider setting the right example for your millions of followers by adopting a mutt and encouraging them to do the same,” she said. “Not only will you be saving another dog’s life, the new dog will also provide your puppy with the companionship he desperately needs as your busy schedule takes you around the country.” (Read more from “PETA Goes OFF on AOC for Buying a Dog” HERE)

Senator Wants to Ban Cellphone Use for People Under 21 – Here’s Why

A Democratic state senator in Vermont has proposed a bill to ban cellphone use for all persons under the age of 21 years old.

The bill, introduced Thursday by Sen. John Rodgers to the Judiciary Committee, would make the possession of a cellphone a misdemeanor offense punishable by up to one year in prison, a $1,000 fine, or both, WPTZ-TV reported. . .

He also highlights the role cellphones play in teen bullying, which often leads to suicides, internet radicalization of “terrorists, fascists, and other extremists,” and the use of the internet on cellphones by teenage mass shooters to research previous shootings.

“In light of the dangerous and life-threatening consequences of cell phone use by young people, it is clear that persons under 21 years of age are not developmentally mature enough to safely possess them, just as the General Assembly has concluded that persons under 21 years of age are not mature enough to possess firearms, smoke cigarettes, or consume alcohol,” Rodgers argues in the text of the bill. . .

Several states have passed bills restricting cellphone use while driving for persons under 21 years of age, but Rodgers’ bill marks the first time legislation has been drawn up to ban cellphone use in its entirety. Change of Heart? Chick-Fil-A CEO Says Company Will Still ‘Glorify God’ After Dropping Christian Organizations

Chick-fil-A may now be having second thoughts after departing from Christian organizations like The Salvation Army and the Fellowship of Christian Athletes after LGBTQ activists branded them as homophobic.

In a December fifth letter to Tim Wildmon, president of the American Family Association, Chick-fil-A CEO Dan Cathy expressed some regret after the business “inadvertently discredited several outstanding organizations” after shifting gears on its corporate giving strategy this past November.

“As you have seen, recently we announced changes to our giving strategy at the Chick-fil-A Foundation. These changes were made to better focus on hunger, homelessness and education,” wrote Cathy. “We understand how some thought we were abandoning our longstanding support of faith-based organizations. We inadvertently discredited several outstanding organizations that have effectively served communities for years.” . . .

“The intent of our corporate giving has always been to have impact — not to make a statement or support a political or social agenda,” wrote Cathy. “In the future, our company will seek to make a greater impact by addressing the challenges of hunger, homelessness and education. Chick-fil-A will give to faith based and other organizations that we believe to be highly effective in a particular area.

“Grant recipients will likely rotate, as we assess from year to year partners who help us meet our stated goals,” he continued. “Also, our operators in your community will continue to invest in local causes that are meaningful at their discretion. Ricky Gervais Reveals Why He Roasted ‘Hollywood Liberals’

On Wednesday evening, comedian Ricky Gervais revealed that the reason that he roasted Hollywood liberals during this year’s Golden Globes was because they wear “their liberalism like a medal.”

“I didn’t roast Hollywood for being a bunch of liberals,” explained Gervais via social media. “I myself am a liberal. Nothing wrong with that.”

“I roasted them for wearing their liberalism like a medal,” he continued. “I’m such a snowflake, liberal, I can’t even really hate them for it. But my job is to take the piss. I did that.”

On Monday, Gervais took a swing at Hollywood while hosting the award show, and he didn’t hold back, telling liberal elites to can their sanctimonious sermons and “f*** off.”

“So if you do win an award tonight, don’t use it as a platform to make a political speech. You’re in no position to lecture the public about anything,” the “After Life” actor and creator told the audience. “You know nothing about the real world.
