Someone Please Tell the Washington Post the Real Meaning of Christmas Is Not Self-Care

In the aftermath of Donald Trump’s comeback victory, some leftists encouraged disappointed Harris supporters to boycott their Trump-supporting relatives’ dinner tables over the holidays. Now, The Washington Post has another cheery suggestion: just don’t spend the holidays with anyone.

Under the headline, “They love their family. They just want to spend Christmas alone,” staff writer Sydney Page featured three people between the ages of 25 and 40 who are ditching the holiday gathering in favor of a self-care day.

In Page’s words, they are “celebrating and luxuriating in their holiday aloneness.” . . .

Willfully treating the holiday as a spa day because you can’t be bothered to invest some effort into people who love you is the Christmas equivalent of the social plague J.D. Vance was talking about when he cracked a joke about “childless cat ladies.” It’s the “Christmas is all about making me happy” attitude we expect Santa-believing toddlers to have about Christmas, and why we have countless children’s stories written to disabuse them of this notion.

Christmas isn’t just about gathering with loved ones, of course. Christmas is a time to anticipate — and then celebrate — the arrival of the Savior of the world, who ransoms mankind from our own sin and, yes, selfishness. You don’t have to have a house full of people to appreciate that gift. But you do have to face your own moral failing and need for rescue by the Son of God. Reflecting on that need, and on the reality that almighty God became flesh and gave Himself up on a cross to rectify it, fills most people who aren’t total narcissists with gratitude, joy, and a desire to share that goodwill with others. Homeowner Arrested After Trying to Move Back Into Her House Inhabited by Squatter

A Georgia woman was arrested and charged with criminal trespassing after she tried to move into her own home — but was rebuffed by an alleged squatter.

“I spent the night on a mat on a concrete floor in deplorable conditions while this woman, this squatter, slept in my home,” said Loletha Hale, who was arrested outside her mother’s old home in Livingston on Dec. 9.

Hale had arrived at the house to clean the place out after a months-long battle with the alleged squatter, Sakemeyia Johnson, whom a court had ordered out in mid-November.

But when she arrived, Johnson – who had never been a tenant of Hale, and was merely related to an evicted tenant’s partner — was still inside, and had brought somebody along to intimidate Hale.

“I returned on Monday to start painting and she had broken the locks at my property,” Hale told WSB-TV. (Read more from “Homeowner Arrested After Trying to Move Back Into Her House Inhabited by Squatter” HERE)

Democrats Perform Tactical Retreat on Trangenderism

Pro-transgender officials in President Joe Biden’s administration are dropping a draft regulation that threatened expensive lawsuits against any school that preserved sports for girls.

The move will prevent President-elect Donald Trump’s deputies from rewriting the draft regulations to protect — rather than punish — single-sex K-12 sports.

The pro-transgender regulations from the Department of Education were also intended to force government schools to downplay heterosexuality — and to raise the status of transgenderism — by creating legal rights for K-12 teenagers who claim they are neither male nor female.

“Not upset it’s dead,” said Erin Reed, a writer who claims to be transgender. Biden’s “rule was a terrible rule that could have been weaponized against trans athletes by the Trump admin and there’s a reason 14/16 trans legislators signed a letter against it,” Reed wrote on BlueSky.com.

“The decision helped ensure that the open proposals could not be quickly rewritten and that the Trump administration would have to at least start the process of introducing its own regulations from scratch,” the New York Times wrote. Stage 4 Breast Cancer Patient Given 2 Years to Live Survives With ‘Fourth Pillar’ of Treatments

Less than three years ago, Tina Willits, now 53, thought she had just two years to live.

Today, she is cancer-free and wants the world to know about the treatment that saved her.

The Florida mother and grandmother first felt a lump in late 2021, just months after a normal mammogram. . .

“The doctor told me, ‘We will try to stop the progression,’ but she said ‘the best we can probably offer you is about 24 months.’” . . .

After doing some of her own research, Willits learned about an alternative treatment called immunotherapy, which uses the body’s immune system to identify and destroy cancer cells.

For decades, the go-to treatments for cancer have been chemotherapy, radiation and surgery — but some experts are calling immunotherapy the “fourth pillar” of cancer treatments. (Read more from “Stage 4 Breast Cancer Patient Given 2 Years to Live Survives With ‘Fourth Pillar’ of Treatments” HERE)

Trump Says He Will Eliminate Daylight Saving Time

President-elect Donald Trump issued a brief statement saying that Republicans would work to end Daylight Saving Time.

DST was proposed by Ben Franklin in 1784 as a way to increase productivity by allowing people more time to sleep when it is dark. The policy was adopted in 1918 in the U.S., but many states refuse to participate, including Arizona, Hawaii, and the territory of Puerto Rico.

Trump offered an explanation why he believes ending DST is in Americans’ interests.

“The Republican Party will use its best efforts to eliminate Daylight Saving Time, which has a small but strong constituency, but shouldn’t! Daylight Saving Time is inconvenient, and very costly to our Nation,” he wrote on social media. (Read more from “Trump Says He Will Eliminate Daylight Saving Time” HERE)

3 Men Accuse Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs of Drugging and Raping Them at NYC Hotels

Sean “Diddy” Combs drugged and then raped three men at two Manhattan hotels and at his Hamptons estate as recently as 2022, according to a trio of new lawsuits filed in New York on Thursday.

One of the men recalled that during his drugged haze, once Combs was finished raping him, he handed him off to others from Bad Boy Records so they could take turns sexually assaulting him, according to his lawsuit.

The three lawsuits cite assaults in 2019 and 2020 — though the suit alleges they covered allegations through 2022.

Each lawsuit alleges that Combs served the anonymous victims alcoholic drinks spiked with drugs that made the men feel “ill” and lose consciousness, only to awake as Combs was raping them, court documents state.

Lawyer for the three victims, Thomas P. Giuffra, of Rheingold, Giuffra, Ruffo Plotkin & Hellman, LLP, said in an afternoon press conference outside of Manhattan Supreme Court that the trio of lawsuits have much in common.”All of these cases involve the rape of men,” Guiffra said. “They all involve drugging of these victims, raping by Sean Combs and others, following the rapes threats to the safety of each one of these victims. We’re here to obtain some justice for these people for events that have been traumatizing them ever since.” (Read more from “3 Men Accuse Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs of Drugging and Raping Them at NYC Hotels” HERE)

Survey: Homeschool And Christian School Graduates Far More Likely To Keep Their Faith

Americans who spent at least three high school years homeschooling or attending a Protestant Christian school are much more likely than public school graduates to express Christian beliefs and attend church as adults, finds a recently released survey. Those surveyed who spent at least three years in a Roman Catholic high school are about as likely to attend church and read the Bible as Americans who attended public schools.

“Consistent with previous administrations of [this survey], faith formation is the domain in which the strongest evidence for sector-level effects can be observed, with a clear benefit to respondents who graduated from Protestant schools or were homeschooled,” says the Cardus Education Survey report released Dec. 4. “These graduates are much more likely to report believing in God and life after death, as well as engaging in religious practices.”

Christians are far bigger charitable givers, community volunteers, and supporters of constitutional rights than their secular counterparts. Christians are also more likely to have children at population-sustaining rates. All this makes their prevalence in American society a key national interest.

The U.S. birthrate is at its lowest ever, 1.6 children per woman. This creates demand for foreign migration and hammers the national budget — especially defense spending — by accelerating the already occurring bankruptcy of Social Security and Medicare.

No other nation dropping off a population cliff has been able to reverse it by subsidizing parenthood, finds a November Heritage Foundation report. “The decline in fertility rates in the United States is driven largely by a decline in religiosity,” it shows. America’s decline in religiosity, in turn, is virtually entirely driven by government subsidies for secular education, the Heritage report says, as it erodes children’s faith and therefore their contributions to national economic security via forming stable families. ‘Duck Dynasty’ Star Diagnosed With Alzheimer’s Disease: ‘Really Struggling’

“Duck Dynasty” star Phil Robertson was diagnosed with Alzheimer’s disease amid his battle with a blood disorder, according to his family.

The 78-year-old’s health struggles were revealed by his son, Jase, on Friday’s episode of the “Unashamed with the Robertson Family” podcast titled “Phil’s Diagnosis.”

“Phil’s not doing well,” Jase said. “According to the doctors, they’re sure that he has some sort of blood disease that’s causing all kinds of problems.”

The Robertson patriarch had been fighting the blood disease for a “few years” but Jase said that it has now “accelerated.”

“It’s causing problems with his entire body and he has early stages of Alzheimer’s so if you put those things together, he’s just not doing well. He’s really struggling,” Jace revealed. (Read more from “‘Duck Dynasty’ Star Diagnosed With Alzheimer’s Disease: ‘Really Struggling’” HERE)

School Takes Action After Teen Was Forced to Read Porn Out Loud in Class

A school in Nevada has agreed to settle a lawsuit brought on behalf of a child in the district who was forced by officials to read pornography – out loud – in class.

The resolution to the case is described by the American Center for Law and Justice as a “significant victory.”

The basis of the lawsuit was that officials in Nevada’s Clark County School District had forced a child to perform a pornographic monologue in a theater class, the legal team explained.

“After significant testimony was revealed in depositions, CCSD settled with us, affirming the rights of parents and students in the face of inappropriate educational content,” the ACLJ announced.

The case was over the forced performance by a 15-year-old student, and a judge had rejected the school’s demand that the case be dismissed. (Read more from “School Takes Action After Teen Was Forced to Read Porn Out Loud in Class” HERE)

Biological Man Defeats Women For ‘Model Of The Year’ Title For The First Time

Alex Consani, a biological male, became the first transgender Model of the Year at the 2024 Fashion Awards on Monday.

Consani became the latest biological male to steal a woman’s spotlight when he appeared on stage at the Royal Albert Hall in London, calling the moment a “big step in the right direction.” Consani has spent the bulk of 2024 participating in various runway shows, modeling for brands such as Chanel, Stella McCartney and Victoria’s Secret.

The 21-year-old walked on stage with bleach-blond hair and eyebrows to accept the title. Consani thanked “black transwomen” Dominique Jackson, Connie Fleming and Aaron Rose Philip, who “really fought for the space I’m in today,” the model said.

He also thanked his parents for supporting his dream of joining the fashion industry, adding that more parents of transgender children should demonstrate the same level of support. (Read more from “Biological Man Defeats Women For ‘Model Of The Year’ Title For The First Time” HERE)
