The fiancé of a Los Angeles woman accused of drowning her 7-year-old daughter said she was depressed over her immigration status, ABC7 reported Tuesday.

The man, who asked not to be identified, told the outlet he believes his fiancé, Graciela Castellanos, 37, allegedly drowned her daughter following what he said was a deep depression over potentially not becoming a legal resident. Despite the allegations, her fiancé said she was “the sweetest mom in the world” and had never previously harmed the child, according to ABC7.

“First, I want to say that my wife was an almost perfect mom. She never told a bad word, yelled at the girl, didn’t hit her,” the man told the outlet in Spanish. “She was the sweetest mom in the world.”

The man also told ABC7 he had not arrived at the apartment where the child was allegedly killed until after the incident.

“I never got to the apartment and saw the girl, or her. I got home after all of it happened. This happened at 4 p.m. or 5 p.m. and I got home at almost 7 on the dot.”

10-Year-Old Girl to Graduate College: ‘I Just Enjoy Learning’

A 10-year-old California girl is set to graduate from college this spring. “I just enjoy learning,” she said. “There’s so many interesting things out there.”

Alisa Perales, who learned how to read at 2 years old and began doing algebra at the age of five, started taking classes at Crafton Hills College — a community college in Yucaipa, California — when she was just 8 years old, according to a report by ABC7 WWSB.

“It’s very fun to me,” Perales told the outlet. “It’s almost as fun as playing outside or riding a bike or doing whatever. I just enjoy learning. There’s so many interesting things out there.”

The 10-year-old, from San Bernardino, is now one month away from graduating from the two-year college and is currently waiting to see if she has been accepted to Stanford University.

REPORT: Public Health Officials Make Shocking Discovery At Gene Hackman’s Home

The New Mexico Department of Health (NMDH) reportedly discovered that Gene Hackman’s property was infested by rodents.

Authorities carried out an environmental assessment one week after the famous actor and his wife Betsy Arakawa were found dead in their New Mexico home, according to TMZ. Dead rodents and their nests found in eight detached outbuildings on Hackman’s property, the health report said. Authorities discovered rodent feces in three garages, two casitas and three sheds situated on the premises. Three detached garages held a living rodent, a dead rodent and a rodent nest.

There were two vehicles on Hackman’s property that also had indications of rodents and nests with observations of the animals noted in the health report.

Investigators located live traps installed in the outbuildings, indicating that the infestation was a continuing problem for the star, and Hackman and Arakawa were likely aware of the issue, according to TMZ.

The outlet reported that the NMDH conducted a risk assessment March 5 to ensure first responders attending the scene and family members who had made their way onto the property were not at risk. The primary residence was deemed to be low-risk, with no indications of rodents inside the home, according to TMZ. Females Caught on Video Punching, Kicking, Stomping Restaurant Waitress — Reportedly After She Rejected Their Refund Demand

Video captured two females physically attacking a waitress in a Chicago restaurant last weekend. The females are seen kicking, stomping, and punching the waitress — and the attack reportedly came after the waitress rejected the culprits’ refund demand.

Martha Garcia — owner of El Taco Azteca — told WBBM-TV two females wanted a full refund after they picked up a to-go order, departed, and then returned about 15 minutes later after having consumed nearly all their food and saying they didn’t like it.

The 23-year-old waitress told them she couldn’t give them a refund, WLS-TV reported, and then things heated up.

Surveillance video shows one female walking behind the bar and tossing the waitress’ cell phone into a vat of liquid, WBBM said, adding that the females also tried to destroy the restaurant’s decorations. El Taco Azteca posted still images of the culprits from Saturday night’s incident.

When the waitress, who is remaining anonymous, threatened to call 911, WMAQ-TV reported that the females turned their anger toward her. Surveillance video shows them punching, kicking, stomping, and dragging the waitress in an attack that lasted about two minutes, WMAQ added. High School Girl Says She Was ‘Replaced’ by Male Athlete on Girls’ Track Team: ‘This Is Reality’

A female athlete said she was replaced on the girls’ track and field team by a male who was not held to the same standard as the young women.

Taylor Starling from the Martin Luther King High School in California made headlines in November 2024 when she revealed her athletic director claimed her pro-women T-shirt was akin to wearing a swastika around a Jewish student. The shirt said “Save Girls’ Sports” on the front and “It’s Common Sense. XX ≠ XY” on the back.

Starling spoke at a California State Assembly meeting recently and told state legislators that she was “replaced” on the female team by a male transfer student, who did not have to attend practice.

“I was removed from my varsity girls’ team and replaced by a newly eligible male transfer student who received favorable treatment,” the 16-year-old claimed.

“In late October, the male transfer student was given my spot after not being held to the same strict team requirements as me and the rest of the girls,” Starling continued. “He did not have to attend practice while my team and I were running seven miles a day together. Multiple Nurses Working in Maternity Ward on Same Floor of Hospital Develop Brain Tumors

At least five nurses working on the same floor of a Boston-area hospital have been diagnosed with brain tumors, and they’re looking for answers.

The nurse’s union at the hospital, the Massachusetts Nurses Association (MNA), told Fox News Digital in a statement that it is actively supporting nurses at Newton-Wellesley Hospital in Newton, “who have brought forward serious medical concerns, focused on brain tumor diagnoses on the 5th floor maternity unit.”

“We recognize that nurses and many other people want immediate information about the situation,” the MNA continued. “This urgency comes from a place of concern for the health of nurses, their families, and patients — an urgency that we share.”

The MNA further said it is working to “complete an independent, scientific investigation” into the diagnoses.

“That effort is underway and may take additional weeks,” the MNA said. “The investigation is being conducted by the MNA’s division of health and safety, consisting of occupational health nurses, in collaboration with the Newton-Wellesley nurses.”

In addition, the nurses’ union said it has received more than 300 survey responses, emails and phone calls from current and former nurses, as well as other current and former hospital employees, regarding their health concerns. A school employee in Alabama was arrested after making a shocking confession to police officers about sexually abusing a student, according to court documents.

Amy Nicole Wigginton — a 41-year-old school worker from Rogersville — was arrested Friday and has been charged with two counts of a school employee engaging in a sex act or deviant sexual intercourse with a student.

According to the Lauderdale County High School faculty and staff website page, Wigginton was listed as working in the “Child Nutrition Program.”

The Daily Mail reported that Wigginton is a married “lunch lady” who “often shared images to social media with her husband and children.”

Fallyn B., 20, is facing charges of intentional bodily harm resulting in death after she stabbed Alem T., a man originally from Eritrea, during a scuffle at the Kaiserslautern main station in June last year.

“All of my friends who have kids are in hell,” Roan said. “I actually don’t know anyone who is happy and has children at this age. Like, a 1-year-old, like 3-year old — 4 and under, 5 and under. I literally have not met anyone who is happy, anyone who has light in their eyes, anyone who has slept.”

But here’s the thing: I’m actually thankful she said it.

Not because I agree with her on principle, but because it gave me, a 29-year-old father of an 8-month-old son, the opportunity to reflect on parenthood.
