Three Charged After Aunt Allegedly Forced Teen to Drink Turpentine to Abort Baby

Three people in West Virginia have been charged in the case of a sexually abused teen whose aunt allegedly forced her to drink turpentine in an attempt to abort her unborn baby.

The 15-year-old girl was hospitalized and is now in the care of the state says a state police criminal complaint, reported by the Associated Press.

The complaint states the girl was living with her mother and Daniel Atwell, 24, whom the mother reportedly gave permission to have sex with her minor daughter.

When the girl became pregnant, the mother reportedly gave her daughter a morning-after abortion pill, but the drug did not terminate the pregnancy.

The girl said her aunt, Sherry Kirk, then forced her to drink turpentine to attempt an abortion. (Read more from “Three Charged After Aunt Allegedly Forced Teen to Drink Turpentine to Abort Baby” HERE)

Here’s How America’s Heroes Were Honored Around the Country on Purple Heart Day 2019

August 7 marks the anniversary of George Washington’s creation of the “Badge for Military Merit.” On that day in 1782, General Washington gave out the following order:

The General ever desirous to cherish a virtuous ambition in his soldiers, as well as to foster and encourage every species of Military Merit, directs that whenever any singularly meritorious action is performed, the author of it shall be permitted to wear…over his left breast, the figure of a heart in purple cloth…Not only instances of unusual gallantry but also of extraordinary fidelity and essential service…shall be met with a due award.

According to the National Museum of the United States Army, three noncommissioned officers were then given the new award: Sergeant Daniel Bissell for spying on British troops; Sergeant William Brown for his service at Yorktown; and Sergeant Elijah Churchill for actions during two raids against British positions on Long Island.

While those three were the only recipients of the initial award, the badge was revived 150 years later in 1932 by General Douglas MacArthur.

In 1944, the qualifications were updated to make the award solely for those wounded or killed in battle.

Some local governments, like Jacksonville, Florida, and Henderson, Nevada, held ceremonies to honor the heroic recipients of the hallowed medal. A chapter of Military Order of the Purple Heart gave $50,000 to local veterans organizations in the Tuscon, Arizona, area. A bank in Killeen, Texas, held held a luncheon as a thank-you. Purple Heart recipients also gathered at Monument Terrace in Lynchburg, Virginia, for a wreath-laying ceremony.

Several public officials also voiced their gratitude to the country’s Purple Heart recipients.

Mass Shooting Averted After Grandma Intervenes

Law enforcement always says, “If you see something, say something,” but so often with mass murderers, it always seems that nobody said anything despite the warning signs being there. One Texas grandmother, however, is being hailed by authorities as a hero after she convinced her grandson to seek mental help and turn himself in to police after he made threats that he was going to shoot up a nearby hotel and then commit suicide.

Federal authorities arrested William P. Williams of Lubbock, Texas last Thursday after authorities searched his hotel room where he had planned to kill countless innocents. According to Breaking911.com, “Officers found an AK-47 rifle, seventeen magazines loaded with ammunition, multiple knives, a black trench coat, black tactical pants, a black t-shirt that read ‘Let ‘Em Come,’ and black tactical gloves with the fingers cut off.”

The feds confiscated the weapon and placed Williams in custody, but were only made aware of the threat after his grandmother encouraged him to allow her to bring him to a local hospital for psych treatment following his comments that he intended on attacking the hotel.

“This was a tragedy averted,” U.S. Attorney Nealy Cox told media. “I want to praise the defendant’s grandmother, who saved lives by interrupting this plot, as well as the Lubbock police officers and federal agents who investigated his unlawful acquisition of a deadly weapon. If you suspect a friend or loved one is planning violence against themselves or others, do not hesitate to seek help immediately by calling law enforcement.” (Read more from “Mass Shooting Averted After Grandma Intervenes” HERE)

Viral Google Memo Alleges Company Discriminates Against Pregnant Women

Just one week after a former Google employee accused the company of discriminating against conservatives, a viral memo from a current employee alleges the company has been engaging in discrimination against pregnant women.

According to Motherboard, a memo written by a Google employee alleges that she was unfairly discriminated against for being pregnant. More than 10,000 employees have now read the accusations she laid out.

“Last week, the woman posted the memo, titled ‘I’m Not Returning to Google After Maternity Leave, and Here is Why,’ to an internal company message board for expecting and new mothers,” reports the outlet. “The memo was reposted to other internal message boards and has since gone viral, multiple current Google employees in different parts of the company have told Motherboard.” . . .

“I’m sharing this statement because I hope it informs needed change in how Google handles discrimination, harassment and retaliation,” she wrote. “This is a long read, but the details are important in understanding the often drawn-out, isolating and painful experience of victims of discrimination, harassment and retaliation. Also, if anything similar has happened to you, know that you’re not alone.”

“I documented what my boss was saying and reached out to HR to ask for help in navigating the situation. It was shared that others had reported my manager behaving inappropriately and that feedback had already been given to her. I was told my comments might be shared directly with my boss, but not to worry because strong measures are in place at Google to prevent retaliation,” she wrote. “Almost immediately upon my discussions with HR, my manager’s demeanor towards me changed, and drastically. I endured months of angry chats and emails, vetoed projects, her ignoring me during in-person encounters, and public shaming.” (Read more from “Viral Google Memo Alleges Company Discriminates Against Pregnant Women” HERE)

Neighborhood Tells 82-Yr-Old Granny to Curb Her American Flag Enthusiasm, but She’s Refusing

A homeowner’s association in Arizona is the news this weekend [and] it couldn’t be for less flattering reasons. The HOA told 82-year-old Donna Cordero that she can’t keep her new American flag decoration because it doesn’t fit the neighborhood’s look. . .

The series of events that led to this conflict are outlined in detail by columnist Laurie Roberts here, along with photos. But to summarize: a firefighter on an emergency call to a neighbor asked Cordero why none of the homes had the numbers painted on the curb, and Cordero brought it up with the HOA, which told her that she would basically have to handle it herself because they had no one responsible for such things.

The HOA insists that it’s not about the flag per se, explaining that other residents in the neighborhood have traditional, flown flags that are within the HOA’s guidelines. They maintained their position against objections, and most of the neighbors complied leaving, as USA Today described it, an ugly blotch of mismatched white paint where a flag used to be. . .

But Donna Cordero has not complied, and says he doesn’t intend to.

“You’ve got to stand for something or you will fall for nothing and I’m not going to fall for nothing,” she said. “This is my property and I just can’t believe anybody would find that flag offensive.” (Read more from “Neighborhood Tells 82-Yr-Old Granny to Curb Her American Flag Enthusiasm, but She’s Refusing” HERE)

Victoria’s Secret Hires First Transgender Model

. . .According to Fox News, lingerie empire Victoria’s Secret has hired its first transgender model — Valentina Sampaio of Brazil.

“Victoria’s Secret has reportedly hired its first-ever transgender model — less than a year after the lingerie company came under fire after an executive made remarks about transgender people walking in its annual fashion show,” reports the outlet.

Speculation as to Sampaio’s inclusion among the Victoria’s Secret roster began when the transgender model posted a photo of himself at a shoot with “VS Pink” on Instagram. Shortly thereafter, the Brazilian model Lais Ribeiro tweeted that she was “so happy” that Sampaio experienced his first photoshoot with Victoria’s Secret.

The inclusion of Sampaio comes months after L. Brands’ (parent company of Victoria’s Secret) Chief Marketing Officer Ed Razek sparked the ire of social justice leftists when he told Vogue that little interest exists for plus-size and trans models on the runway.

“I think we address the way the market is shifting on a constant basis. If you’re asking if we’ve considered putting a transgender model in the show or looked at putting a plus-size model in the show, we have,” Razek said, adding that the sister division, Lane Bryant, was created to fill that consumer need. Unreal: Mcdonald’s Employee Fired After Refusing to Serve Paramedics

They’re popping up all over the country. Stories about first responders being refused service or harassed at various establishments, whether that be for coffee or engagement rings, it’s becoming a recurring theme. It’s disturbing, though undoubtedly fueled in part by the ranks of the politically correct and the Black Lives Matter crowd. We had a sheriff’s deputy in North Carolina barred from picking up his engagement ring because he was carrying his service weapon. Five police officers in Tempe, Arizona were told to leave a local Starbucks because some snowflake was triggered by their presence in the establishment. And now, some Florida snowflake didn’t want to serve anyone with a badge. Oh, sorry—let me rewind for a second; a McDonald’s employee was fired because she refused to serve…a paramedic. Yeah, even after the first responder said he wasn’t a police officer, she still refused service. The incident occurred in Madeira Beach, Florida (via ABC Action News, Tampa Bay):

A McDonald’s employee was fired after turning away Sunstar paramedics Wednesday night.

Sunstar paramedic Anthony Quinn accused the employee at the McDonald’s in Madeira Beach of refusing to provide service to him and his partner, according to a review he left.

Quinn’s review stated that he went into the restaurant in his uniform to use the restroom when the employee told him “we don’t accept officers in here.” After telling her that he wasn’t an officer she proceeded to say that they didn’t accept “anyone with a badge.”

After Quinn’s partner walked in to order food, the employee, according to his review, told him “we don’t serve your kind here.”

The Illegal Alien Sex Crime Problem the Media Is Ignoring

Democrats don’t want children to be separated from child molesters at the border.

The requirement of “good moral character” in order to be naturalized as a citizen is as old as our first naturalization laws in 1790 and colonial laws before the Founding. The understanding was that although we are stuck with a lot of terrible natural-born Americans among the many terrific citizens, we should never choose to add new citizens who do not possess good moral character, given that allowing immigration is optional. The country only wanted “reputable and worthy characters” who were “fit for the society into which they were blended,” in the words of Rep. Theodore Sedgwick during the crafting of the Naturalization Act of 1790.

Obviously, one of the most important areas where this applies is in keeping out criminals who prey on the most vulnerable: children. Yet not only are we refusing to turn back unvetted illegal immigrants, among whom we know there are many criminals who already have records, our government is incentivizing these very people to use young children as tickets into our country. It’s truly hard to comprehend keeping such an evil policy that disregards the safety of Americans as well as the safety of immigrant children, but it is sold as the height of compassion.

The reports from Customs and Border Protection (CBP) and from ICE of arresting illegal aliens both at the border and all over our communities on child sex charges are not random happenstance. If I were to drop every other issue I focus on, I could spend every hour focusing on a new case and still not make a dent in the number of illegal alien child sex offense cases that are out there.

One report from only 30 percent of North Carolina counties found that in just the past 18 months, more than 331 illegal aliens have been charged with 1,172 child rapes and child sexual assaults. Just one year’s arrests by ICE’s small forces netted illegal aliens who were charged with a total of 6,888 “sex offenses,” 5,350 “sexual assaults,” and 1,739 “commercialized sexual assaults.”

Some of this is culturally cultivated, from areas where sex with teenagers is not viewed as something criminal or wrong, but is often the regular practice. According to data from Girls Not Brides, a global nonprofit against child marriage, the child marriage rates for girls in Latin American countries from which we are seeing an uptick in illegal immigration are particularly high:

Nicaragua – 41%

Honduras – 34%

Guatemala – 30%

El Salvador – 25%

But when you focus on the people who are actually coming to the border, the numbers are starker. The rates vary dramatically between the urban areas and the poor rural areas, especially in countries like Guatemala.

According to GirlsNotBrides, “Child marriage tends to happen more in rural areas than in urban areas,” and in Guatemala, “over half of rural girls (mostly from Mayan indigenous populations) are married before 18.” They also note that “poverty can also drive child marriage in the region” and therefore, “Indigenous girls living in impoverished areas can be especially vulnerable to the practice.”

The report further observes that “trends over the past 30 years have shown” that Latin America and the Caribbean “is the only region not to see a significant change in rates of child marriage.”

So, who is having sex with a 14- or 15-year-old girl? Is it a 15-year-old boy?

“In Central America, the average [age] difference is 5 to 7 years, a significant gap given the girls’ young ages and the power difference between teenagers and people in their twenties.”

This shows the culture of relatively older men having sex with young girls. Remember, government officials have already said that these migrants are coming from the poorest areas of rural Central America, without sanitary conditions and health care. What comes along with that demographic is child sex. Many of those coming to the border speak indigenous languages and don’t even understand Spanish. It’s certainly not the wealthy and educated who are coming north.

While we feel terrible for billions of people living in very primitive cultures and subpar conditions throughout the globe, we must not be naive about the problems of some of those cultures that run counter to the universal values of even this divided country. None of us want to bring child sex predators into the country.

Liberals will kick, scream, and name-call over making this commonsense observation, but in any context other than illegal immigration, nobody would have a problem pointing this out. When it comes to helping people in those countries, everyone will readily publicize all of the cultural, fiscal, health, and criminal problems endemic to the areas. Yet the minute the discussion turns to transplanting hundreds of thousands of them over a short period of time to our country, suddenly those problems are ignored, and one who points them out is called a racist.

Just last month, a Guatemalan who was released into the country three months ago was charged in Alabama for sexually assaulting a minor under the age of 12. Given the daily cases we see at the border and the interior, how many more will we see in the coming years as a result of this wave?

Our laws on the books since the 1880s were designed to keep out values not supported by the nation. Prostitutes were inadmissible, as well as polygamists, who are still barred from entry to this day (8 US Code 1182(a)(10)(A)). We really need to think twice about the tipping point were “compassion” is really cruelty. (For more from the author of “The Illegal Alien Sex Crime Problem the Media Is Ignoring” please click HERE)

One-Third of Adults Wouldn’t Be Surprised ‘at All’ If a Religious Holocaust Happened

More than one-third of American adults say they wouldn’t be shocked “at all” if the systematic murder of a religious group, like what happened in the Holocaust, occurred in the United States today, according to a new poll.

A YouGov poll released on Thursday morning showed that 35 percent of adults would be “not at all surprised” if a genocide based on religious beliefs happened in modern-day America. The survey was primarily focused on the Holocaust and Anne Frank.

The poll also showed that the opinion was a bipartisan one. Thirty-seven percent of Democrats, 34 percent of Republicans and 36 percent of Independents surveyed responded that they would not at all be surprised if such a situation took place.

On the other hand, 21 percent said they’d be “very surprised” if the systematic killing of a religious group happened in the U.S. Another 19 percent said they’d be a “little surprised” and 13 percent said they’d be “somewhat surprised.”

This August marks the 75th anniversary of Anne Frank’s capture by the Nazis during World War II. The final entry in her published diary, The Diary of a Young Girl, was dated August 1st, 1944. According to YouGov, a majority of American adults believe the book should be required reading in public schools. New Study Indicates ‘Medication Abortion’ Is Potentially Psychologically and Biologically Damaging

Conservatives recently answered the years-long campaign by progressives to normalize late-term abortions by passing legislation of their own in several states that place restrictions on abortions, such as disallowing the procedure once a heartbeat is detected or making abortions illegal past the first trimester if neither the life of the mother nor the child is in danger. The most restrictive legislation passed in Alabama in May and it very nearly outlaws the practice altogether. Many on both sides of the debate believe the Alabama law was expressly intended to force the issue of abortion back before the Supreme Court.

But progressives have other tricks up their sleeves when it comes to protecting what is arguably their most coveted policy idea. There are abortion techniques already available that states like California are beginning to heavily push – often on college campuses – which may change the face of the debate. They’re called “medication abortions”, sometimes commonly referred to a “day after” or abortion pills. California has just introduced legislation that would mandate state schools make them available to students.

But a team of behavioral neuroscientists have written a study that shows even medication abortion can lead to significant negative emotional and biological effects in women.

The three-year study was led by neuroscientist Dr. Stephen Sammut of Franciscan University and essentially makes the case that the biological and behavioral consequences of abortion occur even when a woman ends her pregnancy via medication. In fact, Sammut’s study indicated that abortion-inducing drugs mifepristone and misoprostol led to side effects such as depression, loss of appetite, anxiety, and decreased self-care.

“Our study clearly indicates that there are negative consequences to terminating a viable pregnancy using mifepristone and misoprostol,” Sammut told TownHall. “This was evident in the overall negative effects on the well-being of the animals [in the study who were] administered the drugs to terminate pregnancy. These animals also displayed depression and anxiety-like behaviors.” (Read more from “New Study Indicates ‘Medication Abortion’ Is Potentially Psychologically and Biologically Damaging” HERE)
