Model Deluged with Hate Mail for…Getting Pregnant?

A long time ago, in an America far, far away, people would celebrate women upon whom God bestows the gift of carrying new life, even if those women happened to be Sports Illustrated swimsuit models. In 2019, however, the rules have changed. Just ask Samantha Hoopes, who told Fox News in a lengthy interview about the hate mail she received just for announcing her pregnancy.

As noted by LifeNews, Hoopes announced her pregnancy this past April in an Instagram post that extolled the power of womanhood to bring forth new life into the world. “We are so happy to finally announce baby Palella arriving in August!” wrote Hoopes. “This journey so far has opened my eyes to how beautiful the woman’s body is! It’s truly incredible what nature can do and what love between two people can create.” . . .

“I have people going into my DMs saying their goodbyes to me or that they’re leaving me forever because I’m pregnant,” Hoopes told Fox News. “This one kid wrote, ‘Wow, I followed you since I was 15 and now I’m 20. You’re pregnant now and I just wanted to say goodbye.’ Alright, goodbye, I don’t need you in my life anyway. But I am getting messages where it sounds like I’m dying or something because I’m pregnant. One wrote ‘It’s been fun these past five years. Goodbye.’ But again, you don’t need those type of people in your life.” . . .

“Really, pregnancy is so beautiful. You’re creating a baby. You’re creating a life,” she said. “You’re creating the next generation. We have the capability to do that and I’m just in awe of it all. Yes, I’m getting cellulite that I didn’t have before, but this is a beautiful moment in my life. And my bump has become my biggest accessory. I love showing off my bump in tight clothes because it’s so cute.” (Read more from “Model Deluged with Hate Mail for…Getting Pregnant?” HERE)

Kamala Harris: Bring Back Busing, Because Schools Are ‘as Segregated’ Today as They Used to Be

Sen. Kamala Harris, D-Calif., and Sen. Bernie Sanders, I-Vt., currently two of the four highest-polling Democratic presidential hopefuls, could not have more divergent views when it comes to the benefits of busing.

Busing is the practice of moving minority students to schools, often outside of their own districts and typically using buses, in order to promote desegregation. There is currently a law in place to prevent the use of federal funds from being used for the purposes of busing “to overcome a racial imbalance in any school or school system or to carry out a plan of racial desegregation.”

During NBC News’ Democratic debate on June 27, Harris challenged former Vice President Joe Biden’s civil rights record. She told a story about a young girl who was bused to school during the early years of desegregation. “That little girl is me,” she concluded to cheers.

Speaking to reporters on Sunday, Harris elaborated on her views on busing. “I support busing,” she said. “Listen, the schools of America are as segregated, if not more segregated, today than when I was in elementary school. And we need to put every effort, including busing, into play to de-segregate the schools.” She added that “where states create or pass legislation that created inequality, there’s no question that the federal government has a role and a responsibility to step up.”

That same day, Sanders was asked about busing on ABC’s “This Week with George Stephanopoulos.”

“No, we’ve — busing is certainly an option that is necessary in certain cases, but it is not the optimal,” Sanders answered. “Does anybody think it’s a good idea to put a kid on a bus, travel an hour to another school and to another neighborhood that he or she doesn’t know? That’s not the optimal. What is the optimal is to have great community schools which are integrated, that’s what I think most people want to see. That’s what I want to see.” (For more from the author of “Kamala Harris: Bring Back Busing, Because Schools Are ‘as Segregated’ Today as They Used to Be” please click HERE)

Doctors Repeatedly Asked If She Wanted an Abortion. She Ignored Them and Gave Birth to a Healthy Baby Boy

In Scotland, a young pregnant mother was repeatedly advised to abort her baby over medical concerns. Her son was just born a few weeks ago.

A report at The Scotsman tells the story of 21-year-old Lauren Webster and her newborn baby boy, Ollie, who was born weighing 5 lbs 14 oz on May 23.

Webster, the story explains, had previously gone through two miscarriages, and scans revealed a bladder blockage; she was “asked by medics repeatedly” if she wanted to abort her unborn child.

After seeing some problems on her 13-week scan, a doctor at the Princess Royal Maternity Hospital in Glasgow first asked if Webster wanted an abortion, citing a low chance of the child’s survival. When she declined, doctors agreed to monitor the pregnancy via weekly scans.

“Every week she was asking me if I wanted to terminate,” Webster recalled. “She said she had to ask me.”

Webster remembers that that “was around Christmas time and I was feeling very down” as a result.

“I said to her ‘don’t ask me that again because I’m keeping it,’” Webster added. “By 18 weeks she had noticed that the bladder had repaired itself.”

Additionally, doctors were also worried about the possibility that Ollie might have Edwards syndrome, also known as Trisomy 18, a rare genetic condition with a very short life expectancy.

“She asked me again if I wanted to terminate, saying he wouldn’t survive beyond four if it was Edwards syndrome,” Webster recalled.

Despite the warnings that her child might not survive, Webster told the Scottish outlet that she had a “gut feeling” that the baby would make it. Later, she said, she left the doctors “gobsmacked” when Ollie came into the world just fine, aside from showing up a few weeks early. According to the story, the bladder issue fixed itself and specialists ruled out another “serious condition” Ollie was initially thought to have.

“When I found out I was pregnant, I was very scared because of what had happened before … But I just had a gut feeling that this was my time,” Webster said. “Everything they told me turned out not to have happened.”

Now, despite all of the worry, Webster says, baby Ollie “sleeps good and is feeding well.”

The new mom also has some advice for anyone else facing a challenging or devastating diagnosis: Don’t give up on life.

“If someone else was to go through that experience,” Webster said, “I wouldn’t want them to terminate because you don’t know what’s going to happen.”

“I just think everyone should read my story and never give up hope,” Webster added.

A sad story from Ireland underlines the point. Following legalization of abortion in Ireland, a couple opted for an abortion after getting a diagnosis of a fetal abnormality. A later test, however, would show that no abnormality was present, meaning that the couple had aborted a healthy child for no reason. Pro-Life Groups Raise Almost $50,000 to Help Mothers and Babies at the Border in Under a Week

As of Monday, a nationwide effort of pro-life groups to bring relief and supplies to the current border crisis has brought in just under $50,000 in supplies and monetary donations in under a week, representatives from two groups leading the effort told Blaze Media. The goal is to get as many supplies for women and babies to the border as they can provide.

The effort is called “Bottles to the Border” and is the result of collaboration between pro-life New Wave Feminists (NWF) and And Then There Were None (ATTWN), the pro-life ministry for former abortion workers founded by former Planned Parenthood director Abby Johnson.

Pamela Whitehead, the program director of the Texas-based ATTWN, told Blaze Media in a phone interview that as of Monday, the effort has raised over $30,000 in donations and over $17,500 worth of materials, meaning that the campaign has raised a total amount of $47,500 in just its first six days.

The campaign is being spearheaded by NWF founder Destiny Herndon-De La Rosa and launched last Tuesday.

Ultimately, Herndon-De La Rosa says, this issue “goes well beyond politics.” She calls it “a people issue” and points out that pro-lifers’ concern for human life should extend to vulnerable populations like those at the border, those being trafficked, and others.

“It’s not something where you can just say ‘I only care about these people,’” she concluded. “No, we are a movement that’s built on caring about the human dignity of all human beings.”

This isn’t Herndon-De La Rosa’s first time providing humanitarian aid, nor her first time teaming up with ATTWN to do it. The two organizations also worked together to provide feminine hygiene products to shelters around the Houston area in the aftermath of Hurricane Harvey in 2017, because those items were left out of most donations, she says.

“I became known as the tampon lady at Costco,” Herndon-De La Rosa remembers with a laugh. “It was ridiculous.”

After that, Herndon-De La Rosa says that her organization’s first foray into helping out the situation at the border started back in December when NWF raised around $9,000 to help out the Respite Center in McAllen, Texas.

But she said after seeing the kind of situation created by America’s ongoing crisis, she actually went through some “burnout” when she got back. “Here I felt like we did so much,” she told Blaze Media over the phone, “but these supplies will be gone in a week because there’s just so much need down there.”

This time, however, Herndon-De La Rosa says she’s approaching this with far more support. A report at Catholic News Agency said that as of last week, over 40 different pro-life groups had signed on to the effort. This week, Herndon-De La Rosa says that number is up to 50.

And though it’s not the typical effort that pro-life groups tend to pursue, it’s all a part of living out a pro-life worldview, Whitehead explains.

“If I lived in a world where abortion was unthinkable but hunger, homelessness, and hopelessness all increased, would I have accomplished my pro-life mission?” Whitehead asked. “If I really want to care about people, then I have to live that out.”

“I don’t think there’s any talking point that’s going to prove that to anyone,” Whitehead says, adding that she believes that actions like these are the best way to change people’s minds.

For the next two weeks, interested donors can still provide monetary assistance to the campaign, which ends on July 13. Whitehead says that monetary donations are far more helpful than sending things to the border.

“If you send stuff to the center, it creates work,” Whitehead explained during the interview. “The last thing I wanted to see was this respite center get a lot of work” like sorting through donated materials.

Those interested in donating to the campaign can go to NWF’s website, where all donations between now and July 13 will be put toward the Bottles to the Border campaign.

“I encourage us as a movement to not just be against abortion. Let’s be a movement that is FOR more than we are against,” Johnson said in a Facebook post last week. “Let’s be a movement that reaches out to those who need our physical and emotional assistance…whether those people are walking into an abortion clinic, at the border, or are homeless.” (For more from the author of “Pro-Life Groups Raise Almost $50,000 to Help Mothers and Babies at the Border in Under a Week” please click HERE)

Planned Parenthood Gets Million-Dollar Boost from Top Facebook Executive

In a recent interview with HuffPost, Facebook chief operating officer Sheryl Sandberg revealed that she’s looking to pump $1 million of her own money into the political arm of America’s largest abortion provider.

“I think this is a very urgent moment where the rights and the choices and the basic health of the most vulnerable women — the women who have been marginalized, often women of color — are at stake,” she told told the left-leaning outlet in an interview about her donation to Planned Parenthood Action Fund (PPAF). “And so all of us have to do our part to fight these draconian laws.”

This isn’t the first time the liberal billionaire Sandberg has opened up her personal checkbook for the abortion giant, having given another $1 million gift to the organization in the wake of President Trump’s 2017 inauguration. Former Planned Parenthood chief Cecile Richards thanked her for her “her longstanding, and now increased, support” to the organization.

However, in contrast to her previous 2017 gift, this donation is about tipping the political scales and is going to Planned Parenthood’s lobbying arm to help the organization campaign against pro-life politicians and policies from coast to coast.

“Planned Parenthood is going to fight back in the courts, in Congress, in the state houses, in the streets, for women’s health and rights,” Sandberg told Huffpost. “We all have to do everything we can to protect women.”

Following news of the gift, Planned Parenthood CEO and PPAF President Leana Wen thanked Sandberg “for her longstanding commitment to Planned Parenthood & her leadership as a role model for women & girls!”

“Now, more than ever, Sheryl’s generous support is necessary to help Planned Parenthood fight back against unprecedented attacks on people’s health and rights,” Wen said. “As anti-women’s health politicians try to pass extreme abortion bans across the country, our freedom and rights hang in the balance.”

The hefty donation is sure to bring more scrutiny to Facebook, which has been repeatedly accused of suppressing and censoring pro-life content.

Facebook removed a video ad from the pro-life Susan B. Anthony list back in November on the grounds that it contained “sensational or graphic content.” Prior to that, a post at The Daily Wire notes multiple other instances where pro-life views were suppressed on the platform. Earlier this year, multiple pro-life voices claim to have had pro-life content removed. Nike Pulls American Flag Shoe for Disgraceful Colin Kaepernick

. . .According to the Wall Street Journal, Nike was forced to pull an American flag-themed shoe called the “Betsy Ross” from production after NFL quarterback-turned-political activist Colin Kaepernick, who inked a multi-million dollar sponsorship deal with Nike last year, complained. . .

“The sneaker giant created the Air Max 1 USA in celebration of the July Fourth holiday, and it was slated to go on sale this week. The heel of the shoe featured a U.S. flag with 13 white stars in a circle, a design created during the American Revolution and commonly referred to as the Betsy Ross flag,” WSJ reports.

The shoe shipped out to retailers this week, but Nike quickly recalled the shoe and demanded retailers return their stock, leaving customers confused. The shoe isn’t available for sale on the brand’s website and a statement from Nike said only that the company decided against releasing the sneaker because it featured an “old version of the American flag.”

But, it turns out, Nike was responding to a request from Kaepernick himself, who saw the shoe online and complained directly to Nike’s top brass.

“After images of the shoe were posted online, Mr. Kaepernick, a Nike endorser, reached out to company officials saying that he and others felt the Betsy Ross flag is an offensive symbol because of its connection to an era of slavery, the people said,” per the WSJ. “Some users on social media responded to posts about the shoe with similar concerns. Mr. Kaepernick declined to comment.” (Read more from “Nike Pulls American Flag Shoe for Disgraceful Colin Kaepernick” HERE)

Trump Accuser Makes Explosive Confession About What She Did to Former Fox News CEO

Advice columnist E. Jean Carroll, the latest woman to accuse President Donald Trump of sexual misconduct, admitted in a recent interview with Vanity Fair that she once sexually harassed former Fox News chairman Roger Ailes.

At the time of the harassment, Carroll hosted a show on TV network America’s Talking, the predecessor to MSNBC. Ailes was president of the network.

“Oh, I did it. Every day I had a chance,” she admitted of sexually harassing Ailes. “I call him the pearl of his sex.”

“Right on the air. I roll up my trouser legs. I would wait for the camera to come over. Then I would slowly pull up the right and then the left trouser leg. It would say Roger Ailes. I would say, ‘He’s my future husband.’ It never stopped. I’d ask him to twirl for me,” Carroll said. . .

Meanwhile, Carroll claimed in an interview with the New York Times this week that she has “not been raped.”

AOC Was Actually Facing an Empty Parking Lot During Emotional Border Protest Photo Op

Clutching her face in despair and weeping, photos of Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez seemingly show her strong reaction to a horrific scene of US migrant detention. However, new angles reveal she may have played things up a bit.

While quite a few people noted that there was something a bit off about the congresswoman’s photo shoot at a border detention policy protest that went viral this week, there was nothing concrete to indicate her insincerity… until one gets a look at the massive empty road and parking lot on the other side.

Originally shot at a protest against tent-cities for migrant children at the US-Mexico border in Texas a year ago, the photos were not published until Monday. They came hot on the heels of the scandal surrounding AOC’s insistence that border detention facilities are “concentration camps.”

AOC Takes Aim at Ivanka Trump over ‘Career Qualifications’ — It Doesn’t End Well for AOC

Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-N.Y.) lashed out at Ivanka Trump over the weekend, lecturing the first daughter about career qualifications. . .

Ocasio-Cortez criticized Ivanka after French President Emmanuel Macron’s office released video showing Ivanka conversing with world leaders, including Macron, Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau, and British Prime Minister Theresa May, the New York Post reported. . .

However, because Ivanka is a White House senior adviser — albeit unpaid — who routinely engages in diplomatic work on the president’s behalf, she also mingled with world leaders at the summit in Japan. . .

Critics of Ocasio-Cortez noted that questioning Ivanka’s career qualifications is ironic given that prior to her election to Congress last year, Ocasio-Cortez worked as a bartender.

“Being the daughter of a billionaire and President of the United States is a hell of a lot better qualification than being a socialist bartender,” one person told AOC in response.

Chick-Fil-A During Sunday’s Pride Parade

A Chick-fil-A in Manhattan was vandalized during a Pride Parade on Sunday, photos sent to the Daily Caller show, with messages scrawled on the glass and taped on the doors and windows.

There was no property damage nor any physical injury outlined in the report (Chick-fil-A is closed on Sundays), but the vulgar messages graffitied onto the fast food restaurant were designed to intimidate.

Aside from the outright vandalism, there was plenty of hostility on display for the chicken sandwich joint during the parade.

The effort to silence — or, in the case of Chick-fil-A perhaps “starve” — the restaurant and its patrons is nothing new. it has happened time and again, with LGBT or other leftist groups attempt to drive the Christian-owned business off school campuses and out of towns. . .

In many ways the Pride movement has become indistinguishable from the #Resist Trump movement, which is itself increasingly seeing blurred lines with groups like Antifa, who infamously beat and robbed a journalist over the weekend. (Read more from “Chick-Fil-A During Sunday’s Pride Parade” HERE)
