It Looks Like The Media’s Favorite Champion Of Women Is Actually ‘Abusive’ To Women

By The Daily Caller. Michael Avenatti, the attorney for porn star Stormy Daniels, threatened and emotionally abused his wife after they separated, she declared under oath in court filings The Daily Caller News Foundation reviewed.

In a sworn court declaration TheDCNF reviewed, Lisa Storie-Avenatti asked a California court to grant her exclusive use of their marital home after she said her husband threatened and emotionally abused her. Both parties now dispute this account, as they finalize their divorce.

Despite these recent denials, Storie-Avenatti alleged her husband threatened to call the police and get them both arrested, which would cause her to lose custody of their son and put him into the hands of the state’s child protective services.

Two days before that incident, Avenatti had called the police to demand entry into the home the couple used to share, court documents show. Avenatti called the police during that incident but challenged other details in Storie-Avenatti’s story, he confirmed to TheDCNF. . .

In court documents, however, Avenatti’s wife described him as emotionally abusive and lacking control over his anger — sharply contrasting the image of himself he has presented to the public while representing Daniels in her legal battles against President Donald Trump. Rudy Giuliani and Michael Avenatti are going to war over the latest attempt to jumpstart the Stormy Daniels case

By Business Insider. Adult-film actress Stormy Daniels is seeking to revive her civil suit against President Donald Trump and his longtime lawyer Michael Cohen, filing a motion with a federal judge in California on Thursday.

The filing claims the president and his outside attorney, Rudy Giuliani, have made public comments that allow her case against Trump to proceed without Cohen.

Last month, US District Judge S. James Otero put a 90-day stay on Daniels’ case against Trump and Cohen, who vowed to plead the Fifth Amendment. Cohen requested a stay because of his other legal troubles, which centered on the FBI raids of his home, office, and hotel. Cohen is currently under criminal investigation in the Southern District of New York for possible campaign-finance violations and bank fraud. He has not been charged.

In court papers filed by Daniels’ attorney, Michael Avenatti, the actress is asking Otero to modify the 90-day stay in the case because she argues that Trump and Giuliani have introduced “new facts” in the case . . .

In a brief phone interview with Business Insider on Thursday, Giuliani said Avenatti’s filing made “no sense” and insisted that he could not be deposed in the case because he’s “a lawyer.” (Read more from “Rudy Giuliani and Michael Avenatti are going to war over the latest attempt to jumpstart the Stormy Daniels case” HERE)

New Health Guide Reveals Shocking Truth About Most People’s Favorite Foods

A new set of health guidelines, released by the World Cancer Research Fund (WCRF) says that people can reduce their risk of cancer about 40% by completely eliminating alcohol, bacon, sausage, fatty meats, and beer from their diets . . .

The most dangerous meats include any rare or raw red meat (pork, beef, and lamb, specifically), hamburgers and hot dogs, but the WCRF and their European Union colleagues say if you want to stay cancer-free (at least, when it comes to those cancers where genetic disposition isn’t a risk factor), you should avoid all but the “occasional” bacon sandwich or sip of beer.

Being obese, they report, raises your chances of getting cancer significantly, and the easiest way to avoid obesity is to eat healthy foods, and practice a healthy and active lifestyle. If you can’t do that, though, you may need to pursue more extreme measures.

The WCRF says their study, which produced the horrifying recommendations, is the largest cancer study ever conducted, and involved more than 50 million individuals, 3.5 million of whom were eventually diagnosed with cancer. The result? The WCRF found that “no level of intake can confidently be associated with a lack of risk of bowel cancer.” (Read more from “New Health Guide Reveals Shocking Truth About Most People’s Favorite Foods” HERE)

Deputy Accused of Covering up Alleged Assault by Broward Sheriff’s Son

A local Miami news station released an explosive report on Thursday night about a “disturbing assault” that happened at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School four years to the day before the tragic shooting in February. The alleged incident involved one of the sons of Broward County Sheriff Scott Israel and was allegedly “covered up” by Officer Scot Peterson, the resource officer who infamously failed to confront the Parkland shooter.

WPLG Local 10 investigative reporter Bob Norman reported Thursday that two 17-year-old students at the school allegedly bullied a 14-year-old freshman boy, with one of the 17-year-olds holding down the student while the other 17-year-old kicked the victim, grabbed his genitals, and then grabbed the victim’s own baseball bat and began shoving it against his buttocks “simulating rape” through the boy’s clothes.

The father of a survivor of the Parkland school shooting, Royer Borges, called for an investigation into the alleged incident last week. Patch.com reports:

In a statement issued through his Fort Lauderdale attorney’s office, Royer Borges said that a then 17-year-old son of the sheriff was involved in an incident with former Deputy Scot Peterson, the former Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School resource officer. Peterson was the resource officer who failed to enter the high school as a gunman gunned down students and staff inside, leaving 17 dead and others injured.

The sheriff’s son and another boy received a three-day suspension as a result of the 2014 incident in what the police report described as a simple battery. Borges said that the prior case involved a “young man who was sexually assaulted.”

Outrage Erupts Over Nancy Pelosi’s Comments About the NFL – Here’s What She Said

Many on the left were outraged after House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) was offered the chance to criticize the NFL’s recent decision to punish players who kneel during the national anthem, and didn’t. . .

During a CNN town hall Thursday evening, the Democrat leader was less than critical about the NFL’s rule against players and other personnel who kneel during the performance of the national anthem before a game.

“I would be more okay with it if they had consulted with the players,” Pelosi responded, “I don’t think the players agreed to this. This is the owners, and, by the way, it’s the owners who would be fined.”

“I love the national anthem,” she continued. “I’m from Baltimore. That’s where it was written during the War of 1812. So I’m very possessive of it. Sometimes people say, ‘Maybe we should change the national anthem.’ No.” . . .

In an article by Eugene Scott in the Washington Post, Pelosi’s comments were criticized as an example explaining why the Democrats were unable to court the black Millennial vote.

University Under Federal Investigation for Anti-Male Discrimination

The U.S. Department of Education is officially investigating allegations that the University of Southern California excludes male students from certain educational opportunities. . .

According a January 28 letter obtained by Campus Reform, the department’s Office for Civil Rights (OCR) has agreed to investigate four USC initiatives, including the school’s Smart Women’s Securities chapter and the Women in Science and Engineering (WiSE) chapter.

Both of these programs allegedly discriminate “by excluding male students from participation and providing opportunities for female students only,” according to the OCR letter, which notes that many female-only scholarships at USC are also under investigation.

The OCR agreed to launch an investigation after Kursat Christoff Pekgoz, a lecturer and Provost’s Fellow at USC, filed a Title IX complaint against the institution in October 2017. Though the OCR initially dismissed his complaint, Pekgoz filed an appeal, and the dismissal was overturned just two weeks after his January 18 interview with an OCR official.

“The attorney who initially dismissed it cited a Dear Colleague Letter from 2016 which apparently allowed sex-selective scholarships ‘for the underrepresented sex,’” Pekgoz explained, saying he won the appeal by pointing out that—unlike during the 1970s when Title IX was put into law—women are no longer underrepresented in higher education. The Absolute Horror of Children’s Books

Another misfired communication sent Australian moms, pops and tots into a tailspin this past week. The objective? Steam on for “Thomas the Tank Engine” and the God-given right to say “boy” and (Warning, dangerous content!) “girl.” Yes, it’s a disgusting epithet; but some parents will still be parents, despite the best social engineering and shaming tax money can buy.

The threat? The removal of “Thomas the Tank Engine” and other beloved books (“Winnie the Pooh”) from Melbourne schools and libraries. The reason? Failure to comply, according to the Daily Mail, with Australian National Universities admonition that, “Educators should avoid using the terms ‘boy’ and ‘girl’ and classifying children according to gender.”

But studies are studies and must be respected, despite the multiplicity of factors that may come into play when children make choices of what to be or do. According to the Daily Mail, “The research found ‘prejudice along race and gender lines can be observed’ in children as young as three-years-old. Girls who played with ‘feminised characters’, such as Barbie dolls, had fewer career options, while those who engaged with Disney princess toys had more female-stereotypical views. Meanwhile, boys who watched superhero shows were more gender stereotyped in their thinking, the study found.”

No thought seems to be given to the prejudice along gender of those conducting the tests and/or reporting on what the results actually mean. Bag the reality that people make choices for a variety of reason – like preference – even children as young as 3. Younger even! Ever give a youngster a dollop of mashed green beans when he or she is not so inclined? . . .

But Victorian councils Down Under are going to comply with this new research, hence the justifiable backlash by parents who rightfully drew the same comparison as the Herald Sun when it came to potential books being targeted for removal. After Drawing Criticism, Starbucks Clarifies New ‘Bathroom Policy’

Less than 48 hours after Starbucks revealed a new [store] policy that allows anyone to use a cafe’s facilities regardless if they make a purchase, the company clarified the policy Monday after it had been heavily criticized on social media.

Referred to as its “Third Place” policy, Starbucks said in a letter to its U.S. employees Saturday that “any person who enters our spaces, including patios, cafes and restrooms, regardless of whether they make a purchase, is considered a customer.”

The announcement immediately drew criticism from customers and even employees who feared the popular cafes would now turn into glorified homeless shelters.

Even former Arkansas Gov. Mike Huckabee was one of many on social media who poked fun at the rationale behind Starbucks’ decision.

On Monday, Starbucks revealed more about the policy, telling The Wall Street Journal that employees now have detailed instructions on what to do if someone is behaving in a disruptive manner, such as smoking, using drugs or alcohol, using restrooms improperly or sleeping.

“We want our stores to be the third place, a warm and welcoming environment where customers can gather and connect,” the company said in a statement. “When using a Starbucks space, we respectfully request that customers behave in a manner that maintains a warm and welcoming environment by: using spaces as intended, being considerate of others, communicating with respect [and] acting responsibly.”

When dealing with behavior that may be considered disruptive, Starbucks said managers and baristas should first ask a fellow employee to verify that a certain behavior is disruptive and if it is, respectfully request that the customer stop. The company also listed talking too loudly, playing loud music and viewing inappropriate content as other examples of disruptive behavior.

Starbucks says it has also provided employees with examples of instances where they should call 911, which includes when a customer is using or selling drugs.

The clarification of its “Third Place” policy comes one month after a high-profile incident in one of the company’s Philadelphia stores, where two black men asked to use the restroom but did not make a purchase. The men were then arrested for not leaving the store when asked to do so.

Starbucks apologized for the incident, but was villified on social media as being racist. In response, the company is closing all of its 8,000 company-owned restaurants in the U.S. during the afternoon of May 29 to “address implicit bias, promote inclusion and help prevent discrimination.”

While addressing negative incidents in a prompt manner is a good public relations move for any business, even some experts in the field wonder if the decision to open cafes to anyone and everyone who wants to use them is a smart move.

Gene Marks of Entrepreur magazine says Starbucks didn’t handle the situation in Philadelphia well by having the two men arrested, but he also believes the new policy is a mistake, as well.

“What will Starbucks do if the policy fails? Has this really been thought through? Was it even tested during this past month?” Marks wrote. “Please, don’t ever do this in your business. Yes, we all sympathize with the homeless, but do you sympathize so much that you would sit next to someone who’s been living rough (and smells like it) after spending six bucks on a Frappuccino?

“And what about their employees? Does the company realize just how much more difficult their jobs will become? Will Starbucks lose valuable people due to the added stress from adding ‘policeman’ and ‘psychiatrist’ to their already long list of job duties? I think so.”

Some Starbucks employees are already tired of dealing with non-paying customers. A person who identified themself as an employee at a Starbucks in downtown Chicago said in a Reddit forum they hate the new policy because the store bathrooms have turned into a hub for drug activity.

“We haven’t been allowed to change our bathroom codes since April. So almost all the junkies and homeless people know the code now. About once a week we find needles, drug baggies, blood all over the toilet or walls,” the user wrote.

The policy of how welcoming a business is to customers who don’t make a purchase, or a restaurant who allows customers to linger well beyond the time it takes to eat or drink what they’ve purchased, is not unique to Starbucks.

But because the chain has made its policy clear to the public as well as its employees, other restaurants are going to be watching the effects going forward.

“The whole Starbucks situation has opened up a can of worms. In most cases restaurants leave it up to the discretion of the individual restaurant and most are too busy to enforce a policy,” said Joe Pawlak, managing principal at restaurant consulting firm Technomic Inc., told the Wall Street Journal. Obama Education Secretary: Don’t Teach Children Until Gun Control Achieved

. . .Perhaps one of the most absurd was that of the Obama administration’s former assistant secretary of education, Peter Cunningham, who suggested in a tweet that “maybe it’s time for America’s 50 million school parents to simply pull their kids out of school until we have better gun laws.”

Rather than rein in such a ridiculous proposal, Cunningham’s former boss in the Obama administration — former Secretary of Education Arne Duncan — actually doubled down and endorsed the idea as both “brilliant” and “tragically necessary.”

“This is brilliant, and tragically necessary,” Duncan said. “What if no children went to school until gun laws changed to keep them safe? My family is all in if we can do this at scale. Parents, will you please join us?” . . .

In an interview with The Washington Post, Duncan attempted to explain his “radical idea,” which he admitted was intended to be provocative but was nevertheless an “aggressive approach” to reform gun laws that was worthy of consideration.

“I’m open to other ideas, I’m open to different ideas, but I’m not open to doing nothing,” he added. “We will see whether this gains traction, or something does, but we have to think radically. (Read more from “Obama Education Secretary: Don’t Teach Children Until Gun Control Achieved” HERE)

Insanity: U.S. Middle Schoolers Told to Declare Faith in Allah

By WND. Seventh-graders at a West Virginia public school were asked to write the Islamic declaration of faith in Arabic calligraphy in a social-studies class, drawing outrage from a Christian parent.

Parent Rich Penkoski contacted Principal Ron Branch at Mountain Ridge Middle School in Gerrardstown about the assignment, which was part of a world-religions unit, the Christian Post reported.

The assignment was included in a packet sent home with students of information about the history of Islam, the prophet Muhammad and the five pillars of the religion.

But Penkoski, the Christian Post said, was most upset with a worksheet that instructs students to practice calligraphy by copying by hand the Arabic form of the Shahada.

The Shahada is the Islamic profession of faith that declares Allah is the one true god and Muhammad is his messenger. (Read more from “Middle Schoolers Told to Declare Faith in Allah” HERE)

Parent Outraged After School Gives Students Worksheet on Writing Islamic Faith Declaration

By The Christian Post. A Christian parent in West Virginia has voiced outrage after his seventh-grade daughter brought home a packet from her social studies class this week that includes a page asking students to practice writing the Islamic declaration of faith in Arabic calligraphy.

Rich Penkoski, a conservative Christian who runs an online ministry called Warriors for Christ, contacted Principal Ron Branch at Mountain Ridge Middle School in Gerrardstown to voice his concerns about the packet on Islam that was given out as part of the class’ world religions unit.

While the packet went into detail about the history of Islam, the prophet Muhammad and the five pillars of the religion, Penkoski was most upset with a worksheet toward the end of the packet that instructs students to practice calligraphy by copying the Arabic form of the Shahada by hand . . .

“I saw the assignment of writing the Shahada in Arabic. Their excuse was calligraphy,” Penkoski told The Christian Post. “I was like, ‘Whoa! Whoa! Whoa!’ First of all, calligraphy was invented in China 3,000 years prior to Muhammad. The fact that they were trying to get my daughter to write that disturbed me.'”

“I said, ‘That is not happening. My daughter is not doing that,'” Penkoski continued. “My daughter told me that if she didn’t do the assignment then she was going to get a [detention] slip.” (Read more from “Parent Outraged After School Gives Students Worksheet on Writing Islamic Faith Declaration” HERE)

Transgender Sues After Muslim Refuses Service

. . .According to the filed complaint, the trans woman tried to get a body waxing at Mad Wax beauty spa in March but was turned away when no one was available to perform the waxing. The employee who typically waxes male customers was out on sick leave, and the other employee working, a Muslim woman, refused, as she will not make physical contact with any male she is not related to.

The complaint was brought before the Human Rights Tribunal of Ontario. The application to the tribunal, filled out by the trans woman, says the spa’s “refusal to provide me with leg-waxing services because I am a Transgender woman, and their disclosing my name, gender identity and personal information to various media outlets has left me feeling threatened, exposed, with my rights violated in terms of seeking services as a woman in the Windsor-Essex community.” . . .

Mad Wax, though, is standing by their employee. Jason Carruthers, president and CEO of Mad Wax Windsor Camp Inc., said he welcomes and respects his employee’s religious beliefs.

“All clients regardless of sex, gender, gender identity or sexual orientation are welcome,” said Carruthers in a statement to CTV News. “However, we also welcome staff members and respect their religious beliefs and feelings of safety and dignity in regards to the right not to perform waxing services on males or male genitals.”

Carruthers’ attorney, Ray Colautti, added that the spa “respects its own staff and religious beliefs and feelings of safety and dignity in regards to the right in not performing waxing services that they don’t feel comfortable providing.” (Read more from “Transgender Sues After Muslim Refuses Service” HERE)
