Offended Woman Says Mike Rowe’s ‘Hard Work’ Ethic Belittles Higher Education. Here’s His Biting Response.

TV star Mike Rowe posted an NPR article to Facebook on Thursday that noted the massive number of vacant high-paying trade jobs as high school graduates continue to sign up for four-year-degrees. The post, which included commentary from Rowe, was not well received by everyone, especially one woman who was offended by Rowe’s pro-“hard work” mantra, telling him he’s attacking higher education and shaming those who choose to attend university.

“Yesterday, I posted an article that dared to question the universal wisdom of pushing everyone toward a four-year degree. The article reached 3 million people, and not everyone was pleased,” posted Rowe on Friday.

Here’s what one Dawn Baker wrote to Mr. Rowe: “Is it your intent to make those who choose college to feel ashamed, lazy and brainwashed? Our country’s education system is under attack, and you seem to be supplying more ammunition to those attacking it……There’s a reason many of these jobs pay well – they are truly HARD WORK – physically hard. Dangerous hard. Mentally hard. Feel free to send reps to the local unemployment office and brow beat them to send people to these jobs. Whether you mean to or not – your are sending a very bad message to those who want to destroy our higher education system.”

The former “Dirty Jobs” star agreed with Baker about higher education being under attack — sort of. “You’re right — our countries educational system is indeed under attack. But the attack is from within, and the wounds are self-inflicted,” he explained. . .

“Point is, Dawn, the hypocrisy in our educational system is rank, the bias undeniable, the disrespect for our flag ubiquitous, and the entire ‘safe space’ mentality the exact opposite of what life is like in the real world. Higher education has created its own PR nightmare,” he wrote. “Is it any wonder parents are trying to figure out if their kids should be sent into such a lopsided environment? Is it any wonder reasonable people are beginning to question the value of a four-year degree?” (Read more from “Offended Woman Says Mike Rowe’s ‘Hard Work’ Ethic Belittles Higher Education. Father of Parkland Victim Sues School Resource Officer in Wrongful Death Lawsuit

Andrew Pollack’s daughter, Meadow, was murdered in the Parkland school shooting in February. On Monday, he filed a wrongful death lawsuit against a number of parties, including the school resource officer who was on duty at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School on the day his daughter died.

The school resource officer, Broward County Sheriff Deputy Scot Peterson, remained outside the building while Nikolas Cruz killed seventeen people on Valentine’s Day.

Other defendants include the estate of Lynda Cruz, James Snead, Kimberly Snead, Henderson Behavioral Health, Jerome Golden Center for Behavioral Health, Inc., and South County Mental Health Center, Inc.

In a Twitter post, Pollack announced: “I filed a wrongful death suit against Deputy Peterson today. I want to expose that coward so bad. Where ever (sic) he goes I want people to recognize him and say that’s one of the cowards of Broward. The SRO that let those children and teachers die on the 3rd floor!” . . .

Peterson’s lawyer defended his client in a news conference shortly after the shooting, saying, “Let there be no mistake, Mr. Peterson wishes that he could have prevented the untimely passing of the 17 victims on that day, and his heart goes out to the families of the victims in their time of need. However, the allegations that Mr. Peterson was a coward and that his performance, under the circumstances, failed to meet the standards of police officers are patently untrue.” (Read more from “Father of Parkland Victim Sues School Resource Officer in Wrongful Death Lawsuit” HERE)

White House Dinner ‘Entertainment’ Burned by Right and Left After Attacking Sarah Huckabee Sanders’ Appearance

Many reporters — even those typically associated with left-leaning media outlets — were left shocked and aghast at comedian Michelle Wolf’s bizarre and mean-spirited White House Correspondents’ Dinner monologue, after the feminist joked about abortion, CNN’s Jake Tapper, and White House Press Secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders’ weight and appearance as Sanders looked on from her seat at the head table.

Wolf told the Daily Beast ahead of the program that she was “excited” that Sanders “was finally able to go to prom,” and once on the dias excoriated the press secretary for her makeup, choice of outfit, and weight. “She burns facts & then she uses that ash to create a perfect smoky eye. ‘Maybe she’s born with it, maybe it’s lies.’ It’s probably lies,” Wolf said as Sanders looked on.

“I’m never really sure what to call Sarah Huckabee Sanders, you know?” Wolf went on. “Is it Sarah Sanders? Is it Sarah Huckabee Sander? Is it Cousin Huckabee? Is it Auntie Huckabee Sanders? Like, what is Uncle Tom but for white women who disappoint other white women? I know… Aunt Coulter.” . . .

Although the joke appeared to earn Wolf the respect of figures like CNN’s Brian Stelter, and progressive icon Joan Walsh — who compared the incident to Stephen Colbert’s 2005 “roast” of then-President George W. Bush without understanding that to be a “roast” the subject has to be in on the joke — most WHCD attendees were turned off by Wolf’s nastiness, even those reporters for whom Trump is a top target.

Counterfeit Painkillers Cut with Deadly Opioids Are Spreading Death in U.S.

Counterfeit painkillers masked as prescription opioids are increasingly cropping up as a culprit in overdose deaths, according to a recent warning from Iowa’s law enforcement.

The fake prescription pills are often mixed with potentially fatal synthetic opioids like fentanyl, which is a painkiller roughly 30 to 50 times more powerful than pure heroin. The U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Northern District of Iowa issued an advisory Thursday due to the increased threat a recent influx of counterfeit pills poses to residents, The Gazette reported.

Their advice to residents is to stay away from any pills not directly prescribed by a doctor. Officials want to raise awareness of the issue, so unsuspecting users are not deceived into taking a deadly pill.

“The opioid epidemic lowered American life expectancy in 2015 and 2016 for the first time in decades,” U.S. Attorney Peter Deegan Jr. said, according to The Gazette. “Heroin and prescription opioid abuse has taken a devastating toll on our community. But we have also seen a rise in the prevalence of counterfeit prescription pills being sold on the internet and on the street.”

Fentanyl continues to pour into the country across the border and through the mail from China. The substance is fueling more overdose deaths as drug dealers increasingly cut the substance into heroin, cocaine and pill supplies to maximize profits. Transgender Inmate Sues North Carolina Prison for the Right to Practice Witchcraft Behind Bars

By The Blaze. A North Carolina transgender female inmate filed a lawsuit against the prison for allegedly not allowing her to practice Wicca, also known as witchcraft, the Charlotte Observer reported.

Jennifer Ann Jasmaine, 40, claimed in the suit that the prison chaplains are violating “her” constitutional rights to practice “her” religion and that the institution has refused to provide Wiccan foods for “her” to eat.

“Ms. Jasmaine’s religion is not just her religion. It’s her way of life,” the lawsuit said. “This is the path in which she has taken.”

Jasmaine, who filed the handwritten lawsuit earlier this month, is seeking a jury trial, along with $1 in damages from each of the prison’s chaplains.

The lawsuit alleges that Lanesboro Correctional Institution, an all-male prison, allows Christians to worship six times each week and Native Americans are allowed to hold their rituals three times a week. Transgender Inmate Sues to Practice Witchcraft at Notorious All-Male N.C. Prison

By The Charlotte Observer. . .Under state policy, individual prisons are required to provide “reasonable religious menu accommodations” to inmates practicing religious dietary laws.

Not happening, says Jasmaine. According to her complaint, she has requested and been denied the strict vegan diet that adheres to her spiritual practice. She says prison officials told her if she wanted vegan meals, she needed to become a Rastafarian or a Buddhist.

“The plaintiff, Ms. Jasmaine, shouldn’t have to change her religion to get on the proper diet,” she writes in her suit.

Jasmaine says she is entitled to court protection to practice witchcraft, which she says has been “discriminated against and persecuted for hundreds of years without just cause.”

She says the prison has further limited her practice by restricting her services to the eight Wicca holy festivals, or “sabbats,” held each calendar year. (Read more from “Transgender Inmate Sues to Practice Witchcraft at Notorious All-Male N.C. Prison” HERE)

Good Morning Campers – It’s Denim Day at West Point!

. . .According to West Point’s official Facebook page, It’s #DenimDay at #USMA! Today’s uniform choice is part of an international effort to raise awareness of and prevent future sexual assault and harassment. Cadets, staff and faculty alike wore jeans to show commitment to ending sexual assault and harassment. For more info on Denim Day visit: https://denimdayinfo.org

Isn’t that just so politically correct? Isn’t that just so progressive? Cadets, feel free to just rip off your uniform and put those skinny jeans on to show how much empathy you have for victims of sexual assault and harassment. Last year it was red high heels. This year it’s Calvin Klein’s.

And, for you transgender cadets, let it all hang out. Guys, wear that lipstick with the jeans, maybe some high heels too. Be yourself, no one there cares, especially the cadre. After all, they let a communist graduate.

No, it’s not an episode of the Twilight Zone. It’s another day in Mattis’ Military. You remember General Mattis. He was the tough hombre with the PX haircut and the big book collection who was going to kick in the door to the PC saloon at the Pentagon and kick some butt and take names.

Then, he met Senator Kirsten Gillibrand and the Mad Dog became a Chihuahua. Sometime during his confirmation hearing he surrendered his family jewels to her in a US Government mason jar and never looked back.

And, the castration of the US military marches on at March 4. (Read more from “Good Morning Campers – It’s Denim Day at West Point!” HERE)

Alfie Evans’ Parents Release Heartbreaking Note to Protesters as They Fight to Bring Their Son Home

Alfie Evans’ parents have issued a heartbreaking note to supporters, asking them to stand down as they negotiate with the hospital to bring their dying child home, after reportedly being told they must make a major change in how they approach Alder Hey Hospital and Alfie’s medical team if they plan on letting their child die in peace in their comforting arms.

According to a shocking passage from the U.K.’s Telegraph, Alfie’s doctors told reporters that Alfie’s parents must make a “sea change” in their attitude toward the medical system holding their son hostage. . .

Alfie’s parents told media Thursday afternoon that they plan to meet with Alfie’s doctors as soon as possible. Alder Hey Hospital withdrew Alfie’s life support on Monday, but the child has survived, breathing on his own with only minimal help since then (although there has reportedly been no improvement in his condition).

In an apparent bid to placate doctors, Alfie’s parents released their note Thursday, through their lawyers, asking protesters to stand down and give both the family and the hospital privacy.

Alfie’s supporters were quick to observe that the note felt forced, as if Alfie’s parents had farmed the statement out to professionals — lawyers and public relations representatives — so that they could have even a small chance at bringing their boy to home for what doctors say will be his last hours. After all, Alfie’s parents are still very young, and not very well off, and they’re now at the mercy of Alder Hey Hospital.

Autism Disorder Increases in U.S. Children

U.S. autism prevalence has grown, according to a federal Centers for Disease Control and Prevention report, with about 1.7 percent of 8-year-olds affected in 11 states.

The study, based on 2014 research, again identifies New Jersey with the highest incidence. One in 34 children in that state, or 3 percent, fall on what’s called the autism spectrum, which encompasses a range of social, behavioral and learning disorders ranging from the barely noticeable to the profoundly debilitating.

Nationally, the prevalence has increased 150 percent since 2000, according to the study, which called autism “an urgent public-health concern.” . . .

Researchers aren’t sure what causes autism, although they suspect environmental risks or triggers. It has no cure. They caution that more children being diagnosed doesn’t necessarily mean that autism is becoming more common.

New Jersey — a wealthy, educated state with ready access to world-class health care in Philadelphia and New York City — has “better access to higher-quality information that lets us be more complete” in screening, Walter Zahorodny, a New Jersey Medical School professor and director of the New Jersey Autism Study, said in a conference call about the findings. Despicable: All Four Branches’ Military Heads Publicly Contradict Trump on Transgender Troops

Air Force Chief of Staff Gen. Dave Goldfein told Congress Tuesday he was not aware of any negative effects from transgender personnel serving, joining all three other service chiefs in a rare public split with President Donald Trump over the issue.

Sen. Kristen Gillibrand, D-N.Y. (whose father is connected with the Nxivm sex cult founder, Keith Raniere), as she had with the top military leaders of the Army, Navy and Marine Corps when they appeared before the Senate Armed Services Committee for their budget hearings, used the opportunity to question Goldfein as to whether he was aware of any “issues of unit cohesion, disciplinary problems or issues of morale resulting from open transgender service.”

“In the last two weeks Gen. [Mark] Milley, Gen. [Robert] Neller, and Adm. [John] Richardson have told me that they have seen zero reports of issues of cohesion, discipline, morale as a result of open transgender service in their respective service branches,” Gillibrand said, referring to the chiefs of staff of the Army, Marine Corps and Navy, respectively.

Goldfein said he was not aware of any issues with transgender service members, but emphasized that each case is unique. Goldfein said among the transgender service members he had talked to, he had found a “commitment to serve by each of them.”

(Editor’s note: Of course, none of these brown-nosing Obama acolytes bothered to share with Congress the OVERWHELMING opposition of our service members to trannies serving with them in foxholes, tanks, subs, ships, barracks, etc.). Professor Gets What She Deserves After Spraying Fake Blood on NRA Lobbyist’s House

By The Daily Caller. A Nebraska professor has been charged with property destruction of an NRA lobbyist’s house, according to a Monday report.

University of Nebraska-Lincoln professor Patricia Wonch Hill received a misdemeanor charge after spraying fake blood on NRA lobbyist Chris Cox’s house in October 2017 and January of 2018, Omaha World-Herald reported.

Hill was not the only academic activist to protest Cox. Her UNL colleague, English professor Amanda Gailey, and former College of William and Mary visiting professor Catherine Koebel co-founded The Great American Gun Melt to lend the gun control movement a more radical element, according to The Washington Post.

Protesters Target NRA Lobbyist’s Home and Wife’s Business

By The Washington Post. National Rifle Association lobbyist Chris Cox says his house was splashed with fake blood — twice.

Then, someone made a fake website for his wife’s interior design business, altering images of artwork to show photos of child gun-violence victims.

Last week, two gun-control activists protested outside Cox’s Alexandria, Va., home and handed out fliers outside his wife’s nearby business.

“Mr. and Mrs. Cox have been targeted over the past few months by repeated acts of criminal and unlawful conduct, including having their home vandalized on two occasions,” Elizabeth Locke, attorney for the Cox family, said in a statement. “These coordinated tactics have crossed the line of civility and human decency.” (Read more from “Protesters Target NRA Lobbyist’s Home and Wife’s Business” HERE)
