University Warns ‘Non-Mexican’ Students Against ‘Cultural Appropriation’ on Cinco De Mayo

Worried that “non-Mexican individuals” might partake of Cinco de Mayo festivities, Gonzaga University is telling students, “Don’t you dare put on that ‘sombrero.’”

In an email to the student body Wednesday, VP of Student Development Judi Biggs Garbuio notes that Cinco de Mayo is “a relatively minor holiday” in Mexico, but “has evolved into a commemoration of Mexican culture and heritage” in the United States.

“Unfortunately, the celebrations have become less about the appreciation of Mexican heritage, and instead has become more about drinking and partying especially by non-Mexican individuals,” she continued. “Because of this, there are many instances when Cinco de Mayo becomes a holiday that is full of cultural appropriation . . .

The website gives tips which include, “It’s a good thing to ask yourself if what you’re wearing may be offensive to the culture you’re celebrating. And if you have to ask, you should probably refrain,” as well as, “especially don’t say things like ‘drinko’ or ‘eato’ or decide to bust out ‘andale’ or ‘hola.’” . . .

Man Gropes Tourist, Telling Her She ‘Liked It’ Because She’s ‘American.’ He Messed with the Wrong Girl.

While traveling alone in Dublin, Ireland last month, a Colorado woman was harassed and physically assaulted on the street by a man who tauntingly told her she probably “liked it” because she’s an “American.”

Yeah, the assailant messed with the wrong girl. Leanna Carr, 26, happens to be a powerlifter and a strength coach, and when she felt threatened by the man, she reacted by punching him right in the kisser.

Carr was catching a bus to Galway when she felt a man grab her rear end “aggressively and intentionally.” The assaulter was reportedly laughing “hysterically” when she turned around to see who attacked her. “You’re an American, you probably liked it,” he whispered to her. That was enough for Carr to clench her fist and punch the man . . .

Carr posted a photo of her bruised knuckles to Twitter on April 21, explaining the incident. “While walking down the street in Dublin earlier this week, a man grabbed my butt. He proceeded to laugh hysterically and said ‘you’re an American, you probably liked it,'” she captioned the photo. “Apparently traveling solo has made me a better person bc my first reaction was to punch him in the face.”

Amazon Now Removing Christian Organizations

By The Daily Wire. Why would the Alliance Defending Freedom (ADF), a non-profit, public interest law firm that fights for religious freedom, be ejected from AmazonSmile, Amazon’s program which takes a small part of a customer’s purchase and donates it to the nonprofit chosen by the customer?

Because Amazon partially depends on the radical left Southern Poverty Law Center to determine which groups should be eligible for the program, that’s why, according to ADF president Michael Farris. Farris composed a letter to Amazon in which he stated, “If you are going to rely on a discredited partisan organization like the SPLC to determine who is eligible to participate in AmazonSmile, you should disclose that in your policy and to your customers. Amazon Boots Christian Nonprofit from Donations Program Because of SPLC’s ‘Hate List’

By The Federalist. A non-profit, public interest law firm which focuses on religious freedom issues has been booted from AmazonSmile, after the Southern Poverty Law Center deemed the law firm a “hate group.”

In a statement released Thursday, Alliance for Defending Freedom President Michael Farris said the law firm has been excluded from the retail giant’s program, which donates a small portion of purchases to the nonprofit of the customer’s choice. Farris said the firm’s exclusion is the result of Amazon’s reliance upon SPLC, an organization that has long been regarded as a glorified direct-mail scam that profits from hate-mongering.

Fed-Up Christian Doctor Hits ‘Seditious’ Anti-Trump Christians with Brutal Message

. . .Call them the “#NeverTrump” crowd. That hashtag came to represent hard-right conservative Republicans who refused to support Trump during the election, but no matter how you label it, the trend has continued even after the unexpected winner took office.

There is a list of reasons to dislike Donald Trump: his blunt demeanor, his past personal indiscretions, his sometimes crass remarks. Some would say those qualities made him more authentic and helped him connect with the everyman, but there’s no denying that he’s a divisive figure … especially among Christians.

Victim of Pulse Nightclub Shooting Says He’s Found Christ, Free from Gay Lifestyle

Luis Javier Ruiz, a survivor of the June 2016 mass shooting at a gay nightclub in Orlando, Florida, says God saved him from his former lifestyle, and he has now found freedom in Jesus Christ.

Jesus “didn’t just change my life, but exchanged my life for His,” Ruiz said, according PJ Media.

“I should have been number 50!,” Ruiz wrote in an April 27 Facebook post, referring to the 49 people who lost their lives in the attack. “Going through old pictures of the night of Pulse, I remember my struggles of perversion, heavy drinking to drown out everything and having promiscuous sex that led to HIV. My struggles were real! The enemy had its grip, and now God has taken me from that moment and has given me Christ Jesus.”

“I’ve grown to know His love in a deeper level,” he continued. “2 out of the 49 were my close friends and are no longer with us. They lost their life that night. I should have been number 50 but now I have the chance to live in relationship and not religion — not just loving Christ but being in love with Christ and sharing His love. I know who I am and I am not defined with who the enemy says I use to be – but who Christ Jesus says I am.”

Ruiz’s post about his life transformation comes in anticipation of the Freedom March in Washington, D.C. “The worship event will kick off at the National Sylvan Theater at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday, May 5 with speakers sharing their testimonies as they celebrate their freedom from homosexuality thanks to Jesus Christ,” Christianity Today reported.

The march organizers have partnered with “Voice for the Voiceless,” a group who’s mission is “to defend the rights of former homosexuals, individuals with unwanted same-sex attraction, and their families,” according to the organization’s website.

Christopher Doyle, co-founder of Voice of the Voiceless, told NBC News that the event is “about celebrating our lives and not hating the LGBTQ movement.” . . .

The Freedom March also follows proposed legislation in the California Legislature that seeks to ban the sale of books written by former gay individuals and Christians who want to offer help to those looking to leave the gay lifestyle.

“(B)ill AB 2943 aims to ban gay conversion therapy, as well as advertising for these commercial services, deeming it a deceptive business practice under consumer protection laws. California already forbids conversion therapy by mental health professionals on those younger than 18,” the Denver Post reported.

This legislation has received widespread push back, including from those involved in the Freedom March.

“Freedom March organizers want to know why Californians want to silence their choice to share their stories,” PJ Media reported. “Event founder Jeffrey McCall states, ‘Everyone in this country gets to speak their ideals and beliefs freely, so why can’t we tell our stories?’”

Besides Ruiz’s posts about his conversion to Christianity and the Freedom March, he has also publicly forgiven Omar Mateen, the perpetrator of the deadly nightclub shooting, and Mateen’s wife, Noor Salman.

“When Jesus died for me on the cross for all my sins he forgave me and today I publicly want to say that I forgive these two,” he wrote. “This was very hard but no longer will I give these power over my life! It’s time to let the father in heaven completely heal my heart.”

Doctors Told Mom 20 Times to Abort This Now Miraculously Healthy Baby

By The Daily Wire. . .While every baby, including and especially ones diagnosed with disabilities in the womb, deserves life from conception until natural death, it is important to highlight cases where doctors predicted a child would have crippling disabilities and advised their mother to abort them based on that diagnosis, only to have the child live on to prove them wrong.

According to LifeNews, Samantha Dukes of Scotland nearly aborted her son, Dexson, when doctors told her he would die immediately after birth from spina bifida, conjoined kidneys and a brain disorder.

For an estimated total of 20 times, the doctors pressured Dukes into aborting her son as a way to speed up the process. She refused and her son is now four years old and functioning.

“But even when I was 33 weeks pregnant, I was still being asked, ‘Are you sure you want to continue? it’s not too late,’” she remembered. “I was asked if I wanted one [an abortion] every time I had an appointment. Doctors Told Mom 20 Times to Abort Baby with No Brain Who Wouldn’t Survive Birth, Now He’s Healthy

By Life Site News. . .On March 24, 2014, she gave birth to Dexson via cesarean section, according to the report. He underwent several surgeries during the first few weeks of life, but his mother said he was a fighter.

Four years later, Dexson can walk short distances on his own, and he attends preschool with other children in the community, his mother said.

His spina bifida does cause pain in his back and legs, and eventually, he will need another surgery on his spinal cord; but Dukes said he does not complain.

“You never hear him complain,” she said. “He’s such a happy little boy and I’m awfully proud to be his mum.

Kathy Griffin Issues Shock ‘Date Rape’ Trump Statement

The changed tone is probably because Griffin realized that when she groveled for forgiveness, she’d actually underestimated the degree to which coastal liberals in this country have committed themselves to opposing Trump no matter how successful he might be.

But now that she’s back in full Trump-despising mode, Griffin is reaping the benefits. She even made a point of telling the shrews on “The View” that she’d sold out New York’s Carnegie Hall for an upcoming show, eliciting a round of applause from the trained seals in the audience. College Proudly Awards Students Who Attend White-Only ‘Guilt and Shame’ Conference

By The Daily Caller. A Colorado college is awarding students who attend a white-only “guilt and shame” conference in July with three academic credits.

The University of Colorado Colorado Springs (UCCS) will award the credits to attendees of the “Unmasking Whiteness” conference, which aims to investigate “how being white shapes our lives” and “our role as white people in struggle for social justice,” reported Campus Reform.

UCCS students who attend the conference must pay $486 for the conference and will be able to apply the credits towards the school’s graduate certificate program in diversity, social justice and inclusion.

Mount Saint Mary’s University professor Shelly Tochluk and the nonprofit Alliance of White Anti-Racists Everywhere (AWARE-LA) are organizing and hosting the conference. The event’s brochure lists topics like “guilt and shame,” “white privilege,” “economic benefits” of whiteness, and “what it means to be white in today’s society.”

Colorado Students Earn Credit for ‘Unmasking Whiteness’

By Campus Reform. . .Only open to self-identifying white people, the four-day conference is co-organized by Shelly Tochluk, a professor at Mount Saint Mary’s University (MSMU) in Los Angeles, and is offered by the nonprofit AWARE-LA (Alliance of White Anti-Racists Everywhere).

The recently-released conference brochure explains that attendees will learn about topics including “white privilege,” “guilt and shame,” “what it means to be white in today’s society,” and the “economic benefits” of whiteness.

“U.S. society does not usually ask white people to explore how race affects our lives,” the brochure states. “When we honestly grapple with this question we become able to recognize the various ways we receive social and economic benefits based on being seen as part of the white group.”

The brochure also notes that while deconstructing whiteness can release feelings of “guilt and shame,” working through these emotions is crucial because they “often lead to paralysis and an inability to effectively participate in movements for change.”

State Department: Killing Unborn Children Not a ‘Human Right’

By The Daily Wire. The U.S. State Department has removed the killing of unborn children — what leftists refer to as “abortion” — from its annual report on global human rights.

According to LifeSiteNews, “Ambassador Michael Kozak told reporters that abortion is not a human right and therefore ‘reproductive rights’ was no longer included in the report.”

The asinine idea that so-called “reproductive rights” should be listed as a human right alongside denunciations of genocide came from the topsy-turvy logic of the Obama administration. Kozak claims that the term “reproductive rights” was never intended to include abortion, but only acquired that meaning over the years. As an issue of U.S. policy, Kozak says abortion is too unsettled a question across the world to be included.

Killing Unborn Children Not a Human Right, Says State Department

By Lifesite News. In presenting the annual U.S. report on global human rights, Ambassador Michael Kozak told reporters that abortion is not a human right and therefore “reproductive rights” was no longer included in the report.

“Reproductive rights” was a rather recent addition to the report, included by the Obama administration that, Kozak claims, never intended the term to include abortion. He said it only acquired that meaning in recent years through its use by partisans on both sides of the abortion debate. If this were true, the question arises as to why the term abortion is used under the “reproductive rights” section in the 2013 report on Ireland. Pro-lifers would point out that at least in general usage, the term has always included abortion. Kozak did correctly describe abortion as a largely unsettled question of national policy around the world.

Kozak said that forced abortions and involuntary sterilization would be considered violations of human rights. He said, “it is internationally recognized that somebody should force you to have an abortion or coerce you to be sterilized.”

Kozak said, “We’ve really gotten at it by flipping back to the original U.S. statutory language. It’s in places like China where in order to enforce their – now – two-child policy that there are reports of coerced abortion and involuntary sterilization [or] in North Korea, where the government also coerces [or] forces abortion – although sometimes that’s for political punishment rather than family planning.” (Read more from “Killing Unborn Children Not a Human Right, Says State Department” HERE)

Great Plan, Guys! Dems Vote to Replace Armed Security at Schools with Mental Health Workers

By Bizpac Review. The Illinois House of Representatives has come up with a brilliant plan to secure the safety of children in the state’s school system.

The plan is brilliant for Democrats, of course, who lead the state governing body as it calls for replacing armed police officers in schools with mental health professionals – who are unarmed, according to an Associated Press report.

The Democratic-led House in Illinois voted 64-25 on Friday in favor of the plan which seeks to set up a grant program rewarding schools for hiring the social workers.

Hillside Democratic Rep. Emanuel “Chris” Welch removed part of the proposed legislation after opposition from police over language that withheld funding from schools which hired armed security officers.

Illinois House Oks Amended Plan Adding School Therapists

By AP. A plan to replace armed security officers with unarmed social workers got a House OK with substantial changes . . .

Police had objected to the idea because schools could only get money if they stopped funding police officers. Hillside Democratic Rep. Emanuel “Chris” Welch removed that part.
