Former NFL Cheerleader Says She Was Discriminated Against Because She’s Christian

. . .Kristan Ann Ware filed a complaint to the Florida Commission on Human Relations claiming she “faced hostility and retaliation from Dolphins cheerleading coaches and was discriminated against on behalf of her gender and religion,” according to The Washington Post.

Ware alleged that, in a conversation with her fellow cheerleaders, she said that she was a virgin and was waiting until marriage for sex because of her Christian faith. At her end-of the-year review, the cheerleading team director and the team’s choreographer reportedly told her not to discuss her virginity with the other cheerleaders.

“My virginity got brought up,” she explained to the Post, “and I said, ‘You know I am waiting for marriage,’ and they said, ‘Well, as far as we’re concerned, you’ve taken something that was once upon a time pure and beautiful and you’ve made it dirty.’” . . .

“After being exposed, and having my virginity [cast] in a negative way, I felt so vulnerable,” Ware told the Washington Post. “It kind of crushed my spirit to change into a bikini after that comment was made. It took a piece of me.”

Ware informed the Dolphins human resources department but said the abusive treatment from coaches continued, noting that even a blog post she had written for the Dolphins had all mentions of her faith, except a general reference to God, removed.

Feminists Are Outraged Because of a Sex-Trafficking Site Closing Down?

To the horror of many across the political spectrum, Women’s March is calling the shutdown of a site convicted of trafficking women and children for sex a “crisis” for sex workers.

Writing on its Twitter page Saturday, Women’s March – a group that spearheaded protest marches around the world the day after President Trump’s January 2017 inauguration – said, “The shutting down of #Backpage is an absolute crisis for sex workers who rely on the site to safely get in touch with clients. Sex workers rights are women’s rights.” . . .

“We’re all still learning and as always, we have to listen to the voices of those most impacted,” the group said, using the hashtag #SexWorkIsWork.

Lisa Thompson, vice president for policy and research at the Washington-based National Center on Sexual Exploitation, blasted the group on Twitter upon hearing the news: “Prostitution is ground zero for #VAW (violence against women). There is no such thing as safe prostitution. Prostitution is THE bastion of misogyny. Stop defending men who buy women (and children and men).”

Likewise, Marian Hatcher, who was once a victim of trafficking and is presently the senior project manager and human trafficking coordinator at the Cook County Sheriff’s Office, was repulsed. Hatcher was actively involved in the advocacy for the anti-sex trafficking bill known as FOSTA-SESTA that Congress recently approved and President Trump is expected to sign this week. Popular Youtuber Attacks Christian Teen

You’d be forgiven for never having heard of YouTuber Cinnamon Toast Ken. According to YouTube.Wikia, he’s risen to internet fame by uploading gaming videos. He has also (somehow) managed to garner over 3 million followers on Twitter, despite posting some despicable cyberbullying videos, including one mocking a teen girl because of her love for Jesus.

In one video titled, “Crazy Girl Obsessed With Jesus,” Ken relentlessly picks on Christian YouTuber Emma Mae Jenkins, mocking her appearance and scoffing at her religious convictions . . .

In one of her video blogs, Emma Mae Jenkins explained her morning routine, which consists of prayer and worship.

I get bullied because of how much I am so recklessly in love with Jesus. I get laughed at for the way that I smile, and I get mocked for how my voice sounds…but to be a daughter of the King//to be a child of God means to love those who hate you. It means to pray for those who persecute you. It means to bless those who curse you. I would not be living the life worthy of the calling that God has called me to live if I only loved those who love me in return. To be a beloved of the Most High means to pick up my cross and follow Him because He loved us all expecting nothing in return. I am smiling in such humble response to the joy that the Lord has overflowed my cup with!! New blog post up about the sweet grace that has called us to live a higher standard and love unconditionally in JOY! The link is in my bio and I pray that this blesses your heart! I surely do love you!!❤️

A post shared by 💗Emma Mae Jenkins☀️ (@1corinthians13_love) on

“I do this because in Mark 1:35, it says that ‘Jesus, waking up very early in the morning, he went to a very quiet place, and there he prayed.’ Jesus lived in such a way that we are called to live as he did,” she says, which incidentally is some pretty solid advice.

Cinnamon Toast Ken later posted his own commentary on the video, saying that he agrees we should live like Jesus before immediately contradicting himself and mocking faith. (Read more from “Popular Youtuber Attacks Christian Teen” HERE)

Teenager Crushed to Death Despite Calls to 911

Ohio authorities are investigating how a student was crushed to death in the back of a minivan at a school parking lot despite calling 911 two times with his exact location.

The Hamilton County Sheriff’s Office is launching an investigation into the death of 16-year-old Kyle Plush, whose body was discovered by his father six hours after he called 911 begging for help and giving dispatchers the correct description of the minivan and his location.

According to audio recordings, Plush called 911 at least twice Tuesday afternoon while he was trapped in the 2002 Honda Odyssey minivan outside Seven Hills School. The third-row seat flipped and had him pinned inside.

“I’m going to die here,” the sophomore told the dispatcher during his first 911 call, which was placed shortly after 3 p.m. Tuesday. “I probably don’t have much time left. Tell my mom I love her if I die.”

The dispatcher can be heard asking for his location several times but it was unclear whether Plush heard the operator’s questions, according to police. (Read more from “Teenager Crushed to Death Despite Calls to 911” HERE)

This NFL Team Just Cancelled Kaepernick Workout Over National Anthem Kneeling

On Thursday, it was reported that the NFL’s Seattle Seahawks canceled a workout for former San Francisco 49ers quarterback Colin Kaepernick because he refused to stop kneeling for the national anthem:

. . .

Still, common to both tweets is the idea that Kaeprnick’s kneeling for the anthem may be the salient reason why some teams have no desire to hire him.

As was reported last October, the NFL admitted that the controversy over kneeling for the national anthem caused it to lose business. CNS News reported in late September. (Read more from “This NFL Team Just Cancelled Kaepernick Workout Over National Anthem Kneeling” HERE)

SAD: University No Longer Offering Class on ‘Weight-Based Oppression’

By WND. Despite a major push to make “fat acceptance” the next frontier in social justice, Washington State University simply couldn’t attract students to a new course in “fat studies,” and has canceled the class.

Campus Reform first reported on the class earlier this year, after WSU announced that they would be creating specific curriculum to help students better understand “fat stigma, weight bias, and thin privilege,” as well as how many in our society are subjected to “weight-based oppression.”

At the time, WSU announced that the class would be part of the school’s gender studies department, and would even feature a segment on “fat fashion pedagogy” where students would design and manufacture their own line of plus-sized swimwear. Washington State Discontinues ‘Plus-Size Swimwear’ Course

By Campus Reform. . .The school’s “Fat Studies” class, taught by Debbie Christel, aimed to explore “weight based oppression as a social justice issue with other systems of oppression based on gender, race, class, age, sexual orientation, and ability,” according to the course description.

Though the course was primarily offered through the Women’s Studies Department, it could also be taken for credit by students in the school’s Design and Textiles Program since a significant portion of the coursework was oriented around creating “plus-size swimsuits.”

Christel led the students in creating plus-size swimsuits as part of the “fat fashion pedagogy” that she was trying to pioneer, later publishing an article on her experiences with the class in the peer-reviewed academic journal Fat Studies.

Fat fashion pedagogy, Christel wrote, is a teaching method that uses “critical feminist and narrative pedagogies” to fight fat-stigma by “promoting activism to erode the thin-centric orientation” among her students. (Read more from “Washington State Discontinues ‘Plus-Size Swimwear’ Course” HERE)

Suspect Who Allegedly Raped a 15-Year-Old Girl Now Accused of Killing Her So She Couldn’t Testify

A 42-year-old, Quinn James, was accused of raping a then 15-year-old girl in a school parking lot last summer. Now he’s facing a murder charge after allegedly killing her while he was out on bail.

James worked as a groundskeeper at East Kentwood Public Schools where the victim, Mujey Dumbuya, was a student. She was expected to testify at his trial this month.

In connection with Mujey’s death, a second man, Gerald Bennett, has been charged with conspiracy to commit murder. According to police, James solicited Bennett through an unnamed source in Detroit, seeking assistance with the murder and disposal of the body . . .

In connection with Mujey’s death, a second man, Gerald Bennett, has been charged with conspiracy to commit murder. According to police, James solicited Bennett through an unnamed source in Detroit, seeking assistance with the murder and disposal of the body.

Prior to be hired by the school district, James’ criminal record included convictions for an armed robbery, and two counts of prisoner in possession of a weapon. But Superintendent Michael Zoerhoff said that James provided strong references from community members, and was “hired because he fit the qualifications for working as a groundskeeper.” (Read more from “Suspect Who Allegedly Raped a 15-Year-Old Girl Now Accused of Killing Her So She Couldn’t Testify” HERE)

State Senator Who Said She Hoped Trump Would Be Assassinated Is Now Making Crazy Comments About Slavery

Missouri state senator Maria Chappelle-Nadal called for reparations for former slaves on Tuesday, and took a swipe at her own party’s US Senator in the same breath.

While declaring there’s “no difference” between white Democrats and Republicans, Chappelle-Nadal said that “neither one of them give a heck about the black community, only the votes.”

Chappelle-Nadal spoke from the Senate floor, saying that she listens to the needs of her constituents who aren’t benefitting from tax cuts. She also said the black children in her district are at a disadvantage; and the senator believes reparations would help, even though she recognizes legislation supporting it would likely never pass.

Recalling her own ancestors who were slaves in the state, Chappelle-Nadal pleaded: “In Boone County, Missouri, in Callaway County, Missouri what my family contributed to making the state what it is today is incredible, and my family deserves way more than what it is getting today.”

She went on to say she would like US Senator Claire McCaskill (D-Mo.) to call for reparations, and added that people in her district see McCaskill as a Republican. (Read more from “State Senator Who Said She Hoped Trump Would Be Assassinated Is Now Making Crazy Comments About Slavery” HERE)

School District Says NO to Guns, YES to Baseball Bats

In a story you’re going to be convinced originated on the satirical website The Onion, a Pennsylvania school district is arming its teachers with baseball bats.

That’s right, in response to the latest high school shooting in Florida were a gunman opened fire with an AR-15, killing 17 people, Pennsylvania teachers have a Louisville Slugger as their weapon of choice . . .

The 500 teachers in Millcreek School District, near Erie, were given 16-inch bats as part of their training this week on how to respond to school shootings, according to the Erie Times-News.

It’s part of the Trojan Response plan — we’re not making it up — which stands for: “Threat assessment,” “Run,” “Obstruct and barricade,” “Join forces,” “Attack,” and “Never give up.”

The plan is consistent with a 2008 Homeland Security recommendation that when faced with a school shooter, try to run, or hide, and as a last resort fight back, noted the Times-News. (Read more from “School District Says NO to Guns, YES to Baseball Bats” HERE)

Millcreek Teachers Encouraged to Fight Shooter If Options Fail

By Erie News. Modified district response plan includes ‘flee’ when you can and ‘fight’ when you must.

Millcreek Township School District has armed teachers with small baseball bats, and maybe resolve.

Teachers aren’t expected to confront a gunman with the bats, schools Superintendent William Hall said.

“The bats are more symbolic than anything,” Hall said. “However, we do want to have one consistent tool to have at somebody’s disposal in a classroom in the event they have to fight.”

Each of the district’s approximately 500 teachers was given a 16-inch bat Monday during in-service training on how to respond to school shootings. The revised Trojan Response plan includes more options than a lockdown, Hall said. (Read more from “Millcreek Teachers Encouraged to Fight Shooter If Options Fail” HERE)
