Netflix? Hide This Release From Your Kids

Here’s the premise of the latest Netflix release, described as a dark teen “romance” called “End of the F—ing World.”

A skinny 17-year-old named James who thinks he may be a psychopath and whose goal is to kill someone meets a 17-year-old rebellious and foul-mouthed classmate Alyssa whom he chooses to be his first victim . . .

The just-released trailer, parent alert for language and sexual situations (yes, on the trailer!), shows James punching his father in the face, apparently knocking him out, and stealing his car so he can run off with Alyssa. She wants the road trip to find her real father. He decides to take it so he can kill her.

James doesn’t feel anything. He once put his hand in a deep fryer just so he could. He has already killed lots of animals, including cats.

Thinking of watching this one with the kids? Prepare for some uncomfortable moments. Thinking of giving unrestricted access to Netflix to the kids? Remember, this is not “Leave It to Beaver” – not even close. (Read more from “Netflix? Hide This Release From Your Kids” HERE)

MSNBC Host Runs Abusive Work Environment

MSNBC Host Chris Matthews runs an at times openly derisive and brazenly sexist news operation that has led at least some staffers to describe themselves as victims of “battered wives syndrome,” according to three of his show’s guests and two former producers who spoke exclusively to The Daily Caller.

Two former NBC producers independently alleged Matthews would rate the looks of his female guests on a scale and said Matthews was so abusive that staff joked about being battered women. The interviews in total paint Matthews as a tyrant liable to fly off the handle at the slightest mistake, who was eager to objectify women and made inappropriate sexual comments appear to be a matter of course for someone in his position.

Both former NBC producers requested anonymity out of concern for their future careers. One is actively seeking a job in media and the other still works closely with MSNBC. One expressed fears about being labeled a “troublemaker” and cited the string of former Fox News women who have all but disappeared from television.

“Sadly, I know other women who won’t even be an anonymous source regarding Chris [Matthews] because they’re that concerned about the door closing on career opportunities in media,” the producer concluded.

According to the two producers, whose combined time at the network nearly spans the existence of “Hardball,” Matthews frequently objectified his female guests and staffers, inappropriately commenting on their appearance and clothing. Matthews would allegedly use pet names like “cutie” and “sweetie pie” to refer to female guests and was constantly making uncouth and “boorish” remarks about women. Do You Remember These New Year’s Eve Hosts From the Past?

As the end of 2017 draws near, many Americans will be watching the famous Times Square Ball Drop on their televisions, counting down the final seconds until the New Year.

ABC’s “New Year’s Rockin Eve” television special has become synonymous with the holiday and has become the flagship program covering New Year’s Eve festivities. However, Dick Clark wasn’t the first, or most prominent person to have helped millions of Americans welcome in the new year.

So before we close the curtain on 2017, let’s take a look back at some of the most memorable guests to have hosted New Year’s Eve specials.

The first name to appear on MeTV‘s list is Guy Lombardo.

Lombardo, also known as “Mr. New Year’s Eve,” effectively began the tradition of using media to help celebrate New Year’s Eve with the masses.

On Dec. 31, 1956, Lombardo and his big band the “Royal Canadians” debuted their black-tie television parties. However, it wasn’t the first time Lombardo celebrated the event in front of an audience as he hosted an annual radio broadcast for 27 years prior to televising the event.

While Lombardo was essentially the godfather of New Years Eve programming, he wasn’t the most recognizable name on the list — that honor goes to George Carlin.

NBC tasked Carlin with hosting their newly created “New Year’s Rockin’ Eve” special to ring in 1974.

The broadcast famously took place aboard the Queen Mary and saw memorable musical performances from Tower of Power, The Pointer Sisters, Linda Ronstadt and Billy Preston.

As noted by MeTV, the night would mark the final time NBC produced the annual special before transferring the rights to ABC who placed Clark as the show’s host.

After the switch to ABC, Clark’s “New Years Rockin’ Eve” struggled to pull in favorable ratings as the show was a direct competitor of the already established Lombardo and his “Royal Canadians.”

However, when the big band leader passed away in 1977, Clark’s program took the top spot in New Years Eve programming, but not without competition from network rival CBS.

Their program, “Happy New Year, America,” ran from 1979 until 1995 and was primarily hosted by singer Andy Williams. However, other celebrities such as Gladys Knight, Terry Bradshaw and Brent Musburger would step in to cover the ball drop.

CBS’ special wasn’t the only program that experimented with multiple celebrity guests. “New Year’s Rockin’ Eve” also saw its own array of alternate hosts.

One prominent example of celebrity replacements was “Dukes of Hazzard” actor John Schneider and “Happy Days” actress Erin Moran who welcomed in the 1980s.

Moran and Schneider hosted alongside performances by The Village People, Chic and Blondie.

However, Clark remained the prominent host of the special until 2007, when it was announced that “American Idol” host Ryan Seacrest would take over hosting duties due to Clark’s deteriorating health.

This year’s edition of “Dick Clark’s New Year’s Rockin’ Eve with Ryan Seacrest” is set to air on Dec. 31 at 8:00 p.m. EST. The special will be hosted by Seacrest and Jenny McCarthy and will feature performances by Nick Jonas, Camila Cabello and Sugarland. Child Wearing Only Diaper Wandering in 9 Degrees

Comcast technicians Shawn Bronson and Michael Payne were battling frigid conditions to restore service to customers in Monson when the sight of a 2-year-old girl wandering into traffic in nothing but a diaper stopped them cold.

“She had no socks, no shoes, and she happened to be heading right toward the middle of the road, which is where we intercepted her,” Bronson said last night of the moment he slammed on the brakes and blocked off traffic on Main Street, allowing Payne to scoop up the shivering toddler and rush her into nearby Woodbine Country Store.

“She was shaking, she was a different color,” Bronson said. “We just started taking off our hats and jackets and trying to get her wrapped up as well as we could while we got her inside the store.”

Once they were all inside the country store Thursday afternoon, Bronson said a clerk who recently gave birth rushed into a back room and retrieved a blanket from her baby bag. The clerk, they said, even gave the little girl a stuffed horse to play with until police arrived . . .

The 2-year-old’s father, who police said was “completely unaware” that she had wandered off, is now facing a charge of reckless endangerment of a child, police said, and the state’s Department of Children and Families has been notified. Planned Parenthood Unveils Pro-Abortion License Plates

The Planned Parenthood abortion business has been on a mission to defend and promote abortion. In the latest effort to brag about abortions, Planned Parenthood is now unveiling a new pro-abortion license plate.

The new Nebraska license plate would have the silly and unscientific slogan, “My body my choice.” Never mind that an abortion involves the body of an unborn child who scientifically could never be the woman’s body or part of it.

The new abortion-supporting license plates will cost an additional $70 for drivers. It appears Planned Parenthood has enough applications to support the plate and it told state officials that 263 Nebraska drivers went to promote abortion on their vehicles.

Why the nation’s biggest abortion business thinks that Nebraskans want to have a pro-abortion license plate on their vehicles is a good question. It appears that the abortion company falsely thinks most Nebraskans support abortion even though it is one of the most pro-life states in the country.

Meg Mikolajczyk, associate general counsel and senior public affairs manager for Planned Parenthood of the Heartland, said in a press release that the plates are an opportunity for people to voice their own opinion on women’s health issues.

Brand New Way to Create Babies

With new rules complicating male-female relationships, scientists claim they may have a solution that will allow the human race to continue – in vitro gametogenesis, the manipulation of skin cells to create a baby.

IVG has been successfully tested by Japanese researchers on mice, which produced healthy babies derived from skin cells.

The process begins by taking the skin cells from the mouse’s tail and re-programing them to become induced pluripotent stem cells. These manipulated cells are able to grow different kinds of cells, and are then used to grow eggs and sperm, which are then fertilized in the lab. The resulting embryos are then implanted in a womb.

Although similar to in vitro fertilization, IVG eliminates the step of needing pre-existing egg and sperm, and instead creates these gametes.

But many experts in the reproductive field are skeptical of its potential outcomes and ethical compromises. (Read more from “Brand New Way to Create Babies” HERE)

Dying Veteran’s Wish to See ‘Star Wars: The Last Jedi’ Comes True

A dying veteran asked to see the newest “Star Wars” movie before he passed and he received his wish.

Ron Villemaire, 69, of New Hampshire, has stage 4 colon cancer and is in hospice care in Bedford, NH. The U.S. Air Force and Vietnam War veteran asked to see “Star Wars: The Last Jedi” but could not get to a theater to sit down and watch it, FOX47 reported.

Ngo bought tickets to the movie at least a month ago, but Villemaire started experiencing more pain and it became difficult for him to sit up. His daughter, Elizabeth Ngo, asked for the public’s help to grant her dying father his last wish.

The Bedford and New Boston fire departments came through and announced they would take the veteran to a theater . . .

On Saturday, Villemaire was visited by Darth Vader at his hospital bed and was transported to O’Neil’s Cinemas for the show. Characters from the movie greeted the veteran upon his arrival at the theater. The theater allowed Villemaire and his family to watch the movie together. Planned Parenthood Insists ‘Abortion Is Health Care’

You probably can understand the latest social media move by Planned Parenthood of Indiana and Kentucky . . .

But saying on Twitter, “Abortion is health care” nine times in a row was bound to get a response.

“If you’re among those who don’t believe that ‘abortion is health care,’ Planned Parenthood of Indiana and Kentucky hopes that repeating that several times might change your mind,” said Twitchy.

“I’m sure the baby would say it doesn’t fit this defeinition,” said Terry Weems, citing the definition as “the maintenance and improvement of physical and mental health, especially through the provision of medical services.”

Rebecca McCaleb said, “Last time I checked a BABY was not a illness or injury. And I’m pretty sure care is to protect. So NO cutting a baby into pieces and severing their spinal cord is doing NEITHER OF THOSE THINGS.” (Read more from “Planned Parenthood Insists ‘Abortion Is Health Care'” HERE)

Court Upholds $135,000 Fine for Christian Couple Who Refused to Bake a Cake

They refused to bake a cake. They were sued. Their business was forced to close. And now the Oregon Court of Appeals has upheld a decision to force the former owners of Sweet Cakes by Melissa to pay a whopping $135,000 fine.

In 2013, citing their Christian beliefs regarding gay marriage, Aaron and Melissa Klein refused to bake a wedding cake for Rachel and Laurel Bowman-Cryer. The Oregon Bureau of Labor and Industries claimed the bakers had violated the Oregon Equality Act of 2007 and ordered the couple to pay $135,000 in damages for emotional distress.

The Kleins appealed the fine, arguing that Labor Commissioner Brad Avakian violated state and federal laws by targeting them for their Christian beliefs and violated their rights to religious freedom, due process, and free speech.

The appellate court ruled Thursday that Avakian did not target them for their religious beliefs and that statements he had made before deciding the case did not show a lack of impartiality, the Seattle Times reports. The court ruled that it is insufficient to assert that the Kleins’ cakes are art protected under the First Amendment.

Earlier this year, Melissa Klein told CBN News, “My cakes were my canvas. I sketched and custom designed each cake to fit each couple perfectly.”

“Although we accept that the Kleins imbue each wedding cake with their own aesthetic choices, they have made no showing that other people will necessarily experience any wedding cake that the Kleins create predominantly as ‘expression’ rather than as food,” the opinion says.

“Today, the Oregon Court of Appeals decided that Aaron and Melissa Klein are not entitled to the Constitution’s promises of religious liberty and free speech,” said Kelly Shackelford, president and CEO of the First Liberty Institute which represents the Kleins. “In a diverse and pluralistic society, people of good will should be able to peacefully coexist with different beliefs.”

Throughout the appeals process, the Kleins suffered harassment for their decision, received death threats, and were forced to close their business’ storefront after protests. For a time, they attempted to run the business online from their home, powered by donations. But eventually, that business closed too.

“We lost everything we loved and worked so hard to build,” Melissa Klein said. “I loved my shop. It meant everything to me and losing it has been so hard for me and my family.”

The Kleins have already paid the fine, but the $135,000 payment was held in escrow until the appellate court rendered its final decision.

The Kleins have been bullied by the government and activists for refusing to make their services available in a way that violates their faith.

The message is clear. In the state of Oregon, you do not have the right to operate a business according to your religious beliefs. (For more from the author of “Court Upholds $135,000 Fine for Christian Couple Who Refused to Bake a Cake” please click HERE)

California Professors Are Now Claiming Farmers’ Markets Are Racist

Professors at San Diego State University are reportedly criticizing farmer’s markets for contributing to the oppression of racial minority groups, according to Campus Reform.

In a new anthology titled “Just Green Enough: Urban Development and Environmental Gentrification”, which includes features from several different professors, San Diego State University geography professors Pascale Joassart-Marcelli and Fernando J. Bosco apparently assert that farmers markets may hurt the very communities they were originally intended to aid.

The critique highlights the process of so-called “environmental gentrification”. In other words, the process by which environmental improvements “lead to the displacement of long term residents,” according to Campus Reform.

The anthology’s description on Routledge.com, argues that environmental improvements, like access to the high quality, fresh food available at farmer’s markets, will essentially increase property values. Therefore drawing in a higher income bracket, while pushing out the long-term inhabitants of the community.

“While global urban development increasingly takes on the mantle of sustainability and ‘green urbanism,’ both the ecological and equity impacts of these developments are often overlooked,” the description reads.

“One result is what has been called environmental gentrification, a process in which environmental improvements lead to increased property values and the displacement of long-term residents,” it continues. “The specter of environmental gentrification is now at the forefront of urban debates about how to accomplish environmental improvements without massive displacement.”

Farmer’s markets are often established in “food deserts,” low income, urban communities where the only grocery store may not have affordable fruits and vegetables of good quality.

As reported by Campus Reform, the professors argue that farmers’ markets are “white spaces where the food consumption habits of white people are normalized,” which leads to a “white habitus” that supposedly excludes minorities.

Bosco and Joassart-Marcelli reportedly conducted their research throughout San Diego, apparently claiming that 44 percent of the California city’s farmer’s markets are located in census tracts “with a high rate of gentrification,” according to Campus Reform.

The numbers have apparently lead the professors to discern that such developments are drawing people from a higher socioeconomic class, which is contributing to the gentrification of these areas, forcing minority communities out.

The professors wrote, “The most insidious part of this gentrification process is that alternative food initiatives work against the community activists and residents who first mobilized to fight environmental injustices and provide these amenities but have significantly less political and economic clout than developers and real estate professionals” reports Campus Reform.

According to the book’s description, the anthology was designed to recognize the possible “social justice” problems and look for alternative forms of greening.

“A ‘just green enough’ strategy focuses explicitly on social justice and environmental goals as defined by local communities, those people who have been most negatively affected by environmental disamenities, with the goal of keeping them in place to enjoy any environmental improvements” it reads.

The description continues by stating: “It is not about short-changing communities, but about challenging the veneer of green that accompanies many projects with questionable ecological and social justice impacts, and looking for alternative, sometimes surprising, forms of greening such as creating green spaces and ecological regeneration within protected industrial zones.”

However, Campus Reform reporter Toni Airaksinen states that the professors fail at providing concrete solutions.

“The professors stop short of offering specific remedies, but do conclude that ‘curbing gentrification is a vexing task’ that requires the involvement of both community members and local governments,” Airaksinen writes.

“‘Strong community involvement,’ they say, is necessary in order to ensure that ‘the needs of the poorest … residents are prioritized,’ while local governments can enact ‘equitable zoning policies, rent-control laws, and property tax reforms in favor of long-time homeowners’ to combat the trend toward gentrification.” (For more from the author of “California Professors Are Now Claiming Farmers’ Markets Are Racist” please click HERE)
