Another Bakery Faces Backlash Because It Won’t Bake Cake for Gay Wedding

A bakery in Bakersfield, Calif., is facing criticism for refusing to bake a cake for a gay couple who posted about the ordeal on Facebook Saturday.

Eileen Del Rio said the bakery owner, Cathy Miller, refused to make her and her partner’s wedding cake because she doesn’t condone same sex marriages, The New York Daily News reported Monday. Del Rio did note in her post, however, that the baker offered to make up their order and send it off to another bakery for the wedding day.

“The ceremony, when you’re getting married is in the eyes of the Lord,” Miller told KGET. “That’s a celebration of a union that God has brought together and that’s a whole lot different than coming in and wanting a cookie.”

“Here at Tastries, we love everyone. My husband and I are Christians and we know that God created everyone and He created everyone equal, so it’s not that we don’t like people of certain groups of people. There is just certain things that violate my conscience,” Miller said according to Fox40. (Read more from “Another Bakery Faces Backlash Because It Won’t Bake Cake for Gay Wedding” HERE)

Students: LGBT Flag Is Like Confederate Flag

Students and parents at a high school in Alabama are calling for the removal of a classroom LGBT “rainbow pride” flag, saying it is comparable to the Confederate flag.

More than 2,400 people thus far have signed a Change.org petition calling for the flag to be taken down at Auburn High School.

“The following signers of this petition ask that the Pride Flag flown in Mrs. Yeager’s classroom be removed as we strongly feel that it creates a hostile and provocative learning environment for students not comfortable to openly supporting the LGBTQ+ community in a public school where students come from diverse political and religious backgrounds,” the petition reads.

“Furthermore, we believe it is unprofessional and distracting for a teacher to be so openly displaying their political views in an unbiased and socially neutral public setting.” (Read more from “Students: LGBT Flag Is Like Confederate Flag” HERE)

Abortionist Who Threatened Pro-Lifer With Violence Forfeits License

An abortionist who held scissors close to a pro-life activist’s throat while saying he loves tearing apart babies will surrender his medical license at the end of the year.

In 2016, a video of Dr. Robert Santella snarling at a pro-life sidewalk counselor went viral. He was holding a coffee cup and a pair of surgical scissors.

When the sidewalk counselor said Santella would “keep tearing the babies apart,” the abortionist replied, “I will … I love it. I love it!”

The California Medical Board took action against Santella for his “unprofessional” conduct in the video and wrongly prescribing controlled substances. The Board labelled his conduct “outrageous” and said he exhibited “physically threatening gestures.” (Read more from “Abortionist Who Threatened Pro-Lifer With Violence Forfeits License” HERE)

School Disciplines First-Grader for ‘Misgendering’ a Gender-Confused Classmate

The Sacramento-area charter school already rocked by parental backlash over a five-year-old boy transitioning to a girl in kindergarten class last June has now sent a first grade student to the principal’s office for “misgendering” the boy.

The first grade student at Rocklin Academy Gateway inadvertently called the trans “girl” by his boy’s name on the playground earlier this week, Karen England, executive director of the Capitol Research Institute, told LifeSiteNews.

The first grader “knows the student’s name from last year, and innocently on the playground called him by his name, and was told she needed to refer to him as a ‘she’ and needed to refer to him by his new name, which the student said OK,” England said.

“But then later the student was later called into the principal’s office so that the incident could be investigated to see if it was intentional or not, as if six-year-old kids are even thinking about this.”

The parent met with the principal on Wednesday, England said, and the school reiterated to the parent that their child needs to refer to this biological boy as a girl with the girl’s name. (Read more from “School Disciplines First-Grader for ‘Misgendering’ a Gender-Confused Classmate” HERE)

Feminist Professor Claims Fatness Is Liberatory, Is Shocked by Women Who Laughed at Her

An Arizona State University professor has expressed disappointment at the results of a study she conducted with around 20 women, all of whom consider gaining 100 pounds to be a negative thing. She expected them to embrace her views of fatness as a “liberatory” experience.

Breanne Fahs, a self-described “fat woman” who teaches Women and Gender Studies at ASU was dismayed by the study in which “no participants described gaining 100 pounds as a positive thing to imagine”. . .

Fahs published her findings in an article for the Women’s Studies International Forum, where she wrote that “the fear of fatness is far more extreme, exaggerated, and terrible than the lived realities of living in a fat body.”

She notes that in her survey, four women “shrieked in disgust” or “started laughing uncontrollably” when she asked them what they thought of gaining 100 pounds instantly. Unsurprisingly, the participants believed she was joking when she asked the question.

Fahs was also upset by the fact that none of the women she surveyed considered obesity to be positive in any way whatsoever, and that “no women identified fatness as physically or personally important (even hypothetically).” In other words, the women did not like the idea of becoming obese. Bill Clinton’s Childhood Friend: Hillary in No Position to Complain About ‘Creepy’ Men

In her new election memoir “What Happened,” former Democratic Party presidential nominee Hillary Clinton says her “skin crawled” during a debate with Republican nominee Donald Trump . . .

But some women aren’t buying Clinton’s attempt at playing the victim.

Among them is Dolly Kyle, childhood friend of “Billy” Clinton, a longtime romantic partner of the former president and the author of the 2016 election blockbuster “Hillary the Other Woman.”

She scoffed at the idea Hillary Clinton could have been discomfited standing next to Trump.

“First, how does Hillary Clinton define ‘creepy?’” she asked. “She is married to a rapist and serial sex abuser. She hangs out with John Podesta, Sidney Blumenthal, George Soros and Anthony Weiner, among other swamp dwellers. Then she calls Donald Trump ‘creepy’ for standing too close to her on a public stage. That would be funny if it weren’t so pitiful. (Read more from “Bill Clinton’s Childhood Friend: Hillary in No Position to Complain About ‘Creepy’ Men” HERE)

‘The View’ Co-Host Questions Hillary Clinton’s Aversion to Trump

In her upcoming memoir, What Happened, former Democratic presidential nominee Hillary Clinton claims that future President Donald Trump made her “skin crawl” at a critical point in the 2016 election campaign.

But not everyone in the media is entirely convinced of Clinton’s aversion to Trump.

Jedediah Bila, cohost of The View, tweeted out Wednesday morning asking, “Did it crawl when you went to his 2005 wedding?”

Clinton is referring to the second presidential debate in St. Louis when Trump loomed close behind her and was very much in her physical space. The debate took place two days after an Access Hollywood tape revealed Trump boasting about groping and kissing women in 2005.

In excerpts read on MSNBC’s Morning Joe, Clinton claimed the debate was “incredibly uncomfortable.”

Clinton said she wished she had asked the audience, “Well, what would you do?

“Do you stay calm, keep smiling and carry on as if he weren’t repeatedly invading your space? Or do you turn, look him in the eye, and say loudly and clearly: ‘Back up, you creep, get away from me! I know you love to intimidate women, but you can’t intimidate me, so back up’?” Clinton said.

Numerous critics found fault with Trump’s conduct during debates, when he hovered, interrupted and at some points became angry.

But as Bila pointed out on Twitter, images of Clinton and Trump together at his 2005 wedding to now-first lady Melania Trump are circulating.

Clinton said she “thought it would be fun” to attend the wedding but later found it “troubling” when Trump ran for president.

Clinton’s book is set for release on Sept. 12. (For more from the author of “‘The View’ Co-Host Questions Hillary Clinton’s Aversion to Trump” please click HERE)

Gay Prostitute Dies at Prominent Democrat Donor’s Home

A probe has been launched into the death of man at a prominent Democratic donor’s home after it was previously ruled an accidental meth overdose.

The circumstances surrounding the death of 26-year-old Gemmel Moore are being questioned after people came forward with ‘incriminating information’ about Ed Buck, whose West Hollywood home Moore was found dead in on July 27.

Buck, 62, who has given money to names such as Hillary Clinton and Jerry Brown, has been accused by other escorts of instructing them to ingest dangerous amounts of drugs for pay.

Buck’s attorney has repeatedly denied the accusations.

The LA County Sheriff’s Office, at a city council meeting on Monday, said it was investigating the death but needed the cooperation of other alleged victims. (Read more from “Gay Prostitute Dies at Prominent Democrat Donor’s Home” HERE)

Girl Scouts Accuse Boy Scouts of Recruiting… Girls?

Inflaming a century-old and mostly cordial rivalry, the president of the Girl Scouts of the USA is accusing the Boy Scouts of seeking to covertly recruit girls into their programs while disparaging the Girl Scouts’ operations.

“I formally request that your organization stay focused on serving the 90 percent of American boys not currently participating in Boy Scouts … and not consider expanding to recruit girls,” wrote GSUSA President Kathy Hopinkah Hannan in a letter sent this week to the president of the Boy Scouts of America, Randall Stephenson.

Top leaders of the two youth organizations, both struggling to stem membership declines, conferred this month about possibilities for coordination. But Hopinkah Hannan, in her letter, said she came away from that discussion feeling the Boy Scouts had already committed to an expansion of coed programs that would damage the Girl Scouts. Church, Govt Argue Child Sex Predators Innocent Because Children Consented

The Catholic Church and government agencies in the United Kingdom have developed a new argument to avoid paying out settlements to victims of pedophilia and sex abuse: they’re claiming the children consented.

As the Telegraph noted over the weekend:

Lawyers who represent some of the victims have told the Sunday Telegraph that the defence is more frequently being used by private schools, religious groups and local authorities when trying to defend compensation claims.

Though news of these recent attempts to avoid paying settlements emerged last month, the Telegraph recently viewed documents from two court cases in which defense attorneys used the “consent” argument.

“One claimant was told by lawyers for the Catholic Archdiocese of Southwark that his abuse, which included rape and began when he was 15, ‘actually occurred in the context of a consensual relationship (albeit one the Claimant in retrospect now appears to regret),’” the Telegraph reported.

“I was below the legal age of consent anyway and there’s a grooming element to that kind of situation. It was totally disregarded and it made me feel really small,” he said.

According to Siobhán Crawford, a lawyer with London-based Bolt Burdon Kemp, the strategy is usually used when a child turns sixteen during the abuse. Sixteen is the age of consent, though the Telegraph notes that “[f]or adults in a position of authority, it is illegal to have sex with a child under their care, even if the child is 16 or 17 at the time.”

Even so, in one case, the Cambridgeshire County Council, a government entity, claimed a student whose abuse started when she was under 16 consented:

On her own account the Claimant voluntarily sought out contact with [the teacher] and considered that she was in a relationship with him. If that is correct, after she had obtained the age of 16, the Claimant consented to sexual acts with [the teacher] and those acts ceased to be assaults.

The victims in these two cases were eventually compensated.

Despite claims from the Church and government that consent was issued, Anne Longfield, the Children’s Commissioner for England, disagrees. “No child ever gives their ‘consent’ to being abused, and the increased use of this line of defence, although still quite rare, is worrying,” she said.

While the defense is rare, it is being employed more often. Crawford told the Telegraph that her firm had dealt with ten cases and that “there had been an increase in the past two years as authorities became aware that it was an option.”

Barnardo’s, one of the children’s charities objecting to this new line of defense, said in July that since the CICA was established in 2012, “nearly 700 child victims of sexual abuse have been refused payments ranging between £1,000 and £44,000, according to a freedom of information request by the charity coalition,” which also includes Victim Support, Liberty, Rape Crisis and the National Working Group (NWG).

One case in which the victim was not compensated, the Telegraph noted in July, “involved a 12-year-old girl who was plied with alcohol, led into the woods and sexually assaulted by a 21-year-old man.”

“This was because she had gone into the woods ‘voluntarily,’ had not been a victim of violence, she emerged ‘happily’ from the woods and that she had recently had sexual relations with another child around her own age,” the outlet summarized.

The coalition of charities has called for a change in rules. According to a press release Barnardo’s issued in July:

The coalition is calling for the rules to be changed so no child groomed and manipulated into sexual abuse is denied compensation because they complied with their abuse through fear, lack of understanding, or being brainwashed into believing their abuser loved them and developing feelings for them.

This is only the latest controversy surrounding the Catholic Church, which has been defending alleged pedophiles and child abusers within its ranks for years. The government agencies in question are also under fire now, too.

As Dawn Thomas, co-chair of Rape Crisis England & Wales, said last month:

It’s not only bizarre but also inappropriate and harmful that the Criminal Injuries Compensation Authority applies a different definition of consent from the law and, as a result, routinely tell victims and survivors of child sexual abuse and exploitation that they consented to the sexual violence perpetrated against them.
