A set of newborn triplets are now being tended to in a California hospital, unaware of their place at the center of a complex legal battle that could have huge implications for surrogacy and parental rights.
The babies were delivered several weeks premature Monday night, according to a lawyer for Melissa Cook, the 47-year-old surrogate mother from Woodland Hills who refused the biological father’s demands that she have an abortion. That man, a deaf, 50-year-old postal worker from Georgia identified in court papers as “C.M.,” paid Cook to carry anonymously donated eggs he fertilized in the hopes of having children. But Cook, who describes herself as pro-life, refused to have an abortion, and is seeking parental rights.
“I’m healthy, I’m 28 weeks pregnant, the babies are doing great, the three little boys I have inside me,” Cook told Fox News outside court earlier this month before they were born.
In California, a gestational surrogate – a woman who carries a donor’s eggs – has no parental rights, but Cook is challenging the state’s surrogacy law in federal court, claiming it is unconstitutional.
“It’s an attempt to reduce women to an object, or a breeding animal,” charges Cook’s lawyer, Harold Cassidy, a nationally prominent pro-life and anti-surrogacy lawyer who is calling for a moratorium on surrogacy. Brittani and Ian McIntire of Hutchinson, Kansas, recently got devastating news: one of the twins that Brittani is carrying is not likely to survive. Little Mason has a hole in his heart and an abnormal brain. His twin sister Madilyn is healthy.
But then last Tuesday the McIntires saw something amazing: in a sonogram, Madilyn appears to be holding hands with brother Mason.
“He’s only weighing nine ounces and his sister is over two pounds,” Brittani told KWCH-12 in Wichita. “His only chance of survival would be heart surgery but they wouldn’t do heart surgery because of his brain” . . .
“We didn’t really see much, [the doctor] said there’s his hand and there’s her hand, and it looks like they’re holding hands. Most twins, when she’s trying to take pictures, they’re kicking each other and hitting each other, and she said with our twins it just seemed like she was very protective over him.” (Read more from “Sonogram Shows Unborn Baby Girl Holding Hand of Dying Twin Brother” HERE)
Family members of a 3-year-old Egyptian boy who was sentenced last week to life in prison say they feel relieved after receiving assurances from officials that neither the boy nor his father will be arrested.
The boy’s father, Mansour Qorany Sharara, has returned to the family home in the southern Egyptian province of Fayyoum after nearly 18 months on the run. He had been avoiding authorities who had previously detained him when they came to arrest his young son.
In a surreal verdict, a military court last week found the boy, Ahmed Mansour Qorany Sharara, and 115 other people guilty of killing three people and sabotaging public and private property during a political demonstration in January 2014 . . .
Ahmed was 16 months old at the time of the alleged crime. (Read more from “Egypt Sends 3-Year-Old to Life in Prison – Then Claim They ‘Made a Mistake'” HERE)

A federal judge refused to grant a preliminary injunction on Feb. 12 against a California law that forces pro-life pregnancy centers to advocate for abortion.
…Judge John A. Houston refused to put the law on hold while the lawsuit proceeds, becoming the third federal judge to do so. He indicated during the hearing that he thought the required information was necessary for women to make “an informed decision.”
California’s “Reproductive Fact Act” took effect Jan. 1. It requires licensed, religious, pregnancy resource centers to inform women, with either posted signage or a handout, that the state offers free abortions for qualifying women. It specifies the inclusion of a phone number for a county social services office that offers free abortions through the state’s Medi-Cal healthcare system. The law mandates the time of distribution and the font size for the signs and handouts. It also requires unlicensed centers to inform visitors that they are not state-approved.
The state currently has 150 local crisis pregnancy centers affected by the law…
“We cannot allow this intrusion into the religious freedom of our pro-life members in California,” said Anne O’Connor, president of legal affairs at [The National Institute of Family and Life Advocates]. “If this act is not successfully challenged, then other states, prompted by Planned Parenthood and the abortion industry, will pass similar legislation forcing pro-life pregnancy centers to become abortion referral agencies.” (Read more from “Federal Judge Forcing Christian Crisis Pregnancy Centers Violate Conscience, Advocate for Abortion” HERE)
The war on poultry rages on yet another public university campus – this time at the University of Nebraska – Kearney.
The hullabaloo started last January when students were asked to select a new dining option for the student union. Their choices included Chick-fil-A, Panda Express, IHOP, A&W and Sbarro.
The youngsters chose Chick-fil-A – in a landslide. I mean, who doesn’t love a plump juicy chicken breast tucked between hot, buttered buns?
However, it turns out majority does not rule at the University of Nebraska – Kearney. A vocal minority pitched a fit and demanded that Chick-fil-A be banished from campus . . .
“We only hope to create dialogue on the importance of being aware to issues facing diverse and minority students,” QSA president Tiff Weekley told the Kearney Hub. “Though majority voices are most often heard, it is important to listen to what issues are facing all students and to start conversations around those.” (Read more from “Chick-Fil-A Flap Rocks Another American University” HERE)

The Southern Poverty Law Center (SPLC) is at it again, labeling seven more Christian and conservative organizations as “Hate Groups” for following the Bible.
The infamous group, once a respected civil rights champion, has become a homosexual watchdog for LGBTQ “discrimination,” blacklisting any church or fellowship that questions gay activities.
The list already included of 48 “anti-LGBTQ” groups. This time, the SPLC seeks to ostracize D. James Kennedy Ministries, Faith 2 Action, Citizens for Community Values, Greenville Georgia’s Faith Baptist Church, Friendship Assembly of God church in Colorado Springs, The Campus Ministry USA, and Conservative Republicans of Texas . . .
Faith2Action’s mission is “Pro-Life, Pro-Family, Pro-ACTIVE.” Its website claims that the group is “the largest network of pro-family organizations,” defending “Bible-based beliefs and freedoms,” specifically in sociological terms of “life, liberty, and the family.”
Citizens for Community Values, based in Cincinnati, is a grassroots organization formed to promote “Judeo-Christian moral values” through “education, active community partnership, and individual empowerment at the local, state and national levels.” The group seeks to strengthen families, defend children, and “maintain healthy, wholesome, safe, and happy communities.” By design, they “separate issues and legislation from people,” loving all while opposing sin. Their website states, “We will never condone or take part in the mistreatment of any individual who opposes our views.” (Read more from “7 New Pro-Family Groups Added to Radical Leftist Group’s Infamous ‘Hate’ List” HERE)

Photo Credit: Fox News A decorated Army sergeant who protected an Afghan boy from a child molester could find out any day whether his actions will end his career in the military.
Sgt. First Class Charles Martland, a Green Beret with an 11-year Special Forces career, was stationed in Afghanistan in 2011 when the boy’s mother came to him and said she’d been beaten and her son raped by a local police commander. Martland and another soldier summoned the police official and, when the man laughed at them, threw him off the base. Martland and Daniel Quinn were both disciplined for their actions.
Last year, amid military cuts, the Army Human Resources Command recommended Martland be discharged in part based on his disciplinary record, but an official decision by U.S. Army brass is expected by March 1.
“Charles did the right thing in Afghanistan by standing up to a child rapist and corrupt commander, and now it’s the Army’s turn to do the right thing and reverse the decision to expel him from the service,” said Rep. Duncan Hunter, R-Calif., whose office has been assisting Martland. “Permitting Charles to continue serving is in the best interest of the Army and the nation.”
Supporters mounted an online petition backing Martland and separately, 93 members of Congress have called for an investigation into the military’s silence in the face of rampant sexual abuse of children in Afghanistan. We, the undersigned, represent millions of pro-family Americans who are dedicated to a nation where God is honored, religious freedom flourishes, families thrive and life is cherished. As a national alliance with nearly 40 state-based organizations, we have invited you to participate in our Presidential Teleconference Series to share your views on the issues important to values voters. We have interviewed most of the leading candidates, but after several attempts, we have not yet been able to schedule such a call with you. Therefore, we direct the following questions to you on policy issues important to our constituents:
1. After years of describing yourself as “pro-choice in every respect” — even supporting partial-birth abortion — you now say that you are pro-life. Your explanation for this change of position – that a baby who was nearly aborted ended up being a “superstar” – is confusing, particularly since you acknowledged that if the child had been “a loser,” your pro-abortion position probably wouldn’t have changed. Please explain this utilitarian view of the sanctity of human life. Do you consider life only worth protecting if it meets certain criteria, and, if so, what are those criteria?
2. How do you square your new position on life with your statements in 2015 supporting continued taxpayer funding for Planned Parenthood, the nation’s largest abortion seller?
3. The next president is expected to nominate two to four U.S. Supreme Court justices, beginning immediately with the vacancy caused by the passing of Justice Scalia. These nominations will likely decide critical issues such as abortion. You’ve recommended your sister, Maryanne Trump Barry, for the High Court. Yet, as a federal judge, she overturned the New Jersey Partial-Birth Abortion Ban, writing that it “burdened a woman’s constitutional right to obtain an abortion.” How can we trust you to nominate judges who will respect the constitutional limits on judicial power and uphold the sanctity of human life?
4. You claim to support religious freedom, yet a leading gay-activist organization calls you “one of the best, if not the best, pro-gay Republican candidates to ever run for the presidency” – particularly because of your “standout position” when it comes to legislation that forces Christian business owners – and others of faith – to either betray their conscience or lose their business. How do you reconcile these contradictory positions?
5. You have built your campaign on lifting the economic outlook of lower-income Americans, yet you built your fortune in part on gambling, which preys on those very people. How will you make America great when you’ve run businesses associated with increased crime, bankruptcies, broken marriages and suicides?
6. The first casino in the nation to add a strip club was Trump Taj Mahal Casino in Atlantic City, which boasts of “36,000 square feet of adult entertainment.” What would you say to young girls and women who are concerned about a president who is directly connected with the exploitation of women?
7. As someone who claims to be a fiscal conservative, how do you justify your statements in support of a huge tax increase and government bailouts. Regarding the bank bailouts, you even stated: “I do agree with what they’re doing with the banks. Whether they fund them or nationalize them, it doesn’t matter, but you have to keep the banks going.” Perhaps most concerning of all is your continued admiration for single-payer, government-run healthcare systems. Please explain how this is consistent with the party of limited government?
8. One of your favorite campaign themes is that you are going to “run America” if elected. Considering our system of checks and balances, and especially in light of the last seven years of government by fiat, how will you demonstrate your respect for the U.S. Constitution and the limited power the Founding Fathers intended for the federal government in general, and the executive branch in particular?
Mr. Trump, we look forward to your response to these, and many other questions, affecting the lives of American families nationwide.

White college students are undergoing a weekly “deconstructing whiteness” program at Northwestern University.
The “6-part workshop series for undergraduate students who self-identify as white” launched in January and runs through March, according to the university’s website. Students enrolled chose to do so – it is voluntary.
A spokesman for the prestigious private university located outside Chicago declined to give The College Fix details on the program, such as how many students enrolled and how it’s been received so far.
“It’s part of Northwestern’s Social Justice Education effort to create learning opportunities for our students,” Bob Rowley, a spokesman for the campus, told The College Fix in an email, providing a link to the social justice webpage and adding: “Beyond that, we don’t have anything more for you on it.”
According to a report in the campus newspaper, the workshops focus on “terminology used in conversations of race, the history and meaning of whiteness, white guilt and the difference between intellectualizing and feeling racism.” (Read more from “White Students Undergo Weekly ‘Deconstructing Whiteness’ Program at College” HERE)

Photo Credit: Daily Mail Sally Miller looked on in amusement as the man who would become the 42nd President of the United States slipped into her own frilly black nightgown.
The former Miss Arkansas has never forgotten how her younger lover proceeded to dance around the bedroom, serenading her with his saxophone and reducing her to a fit of giggles . . .
But while his attempts at lovemaking were largely forgettable, Clinton would rarely disappoint when it came to divulging intimate and potentially damaging secrets about his wife Hillary.
And what of those accusations so insulting or damaging that a potential Presidential candidate would unleash her operatives to intimidate or even bump off an elderly lady?
‘Hillary is a lesbian,’ Miller claims, reigniting a lingering but unsubstantiated rumor that has dogged the former First Lady for years. (Read more from “Former Miss Arkansas Speaks out About Her Freaky Night With Bill Clinton, Reveals Potentially Damaging Secrets About Hillary” HERE)
