No Surprise: Facebook Is Stalking You

Facebook is following you around the Web. You knew that, right?

How else would Facebook know to serve that panda video straight into your news feed, and leave your college friend’s ill-informed rant about Pacific trade deals in the dark bowels of its servers? How else would it know to serve you with 7,000 ads for wedding dress vendors the very day you announce your engagement?

Facebook knows what you like. It knows what you don’t like. It probably knows whether you have been naughty or nice, and will be selling that data to Santa this Christmas season.

This bothers many people, especially since Facebook keeps expanding the list of things it knows about you, and the ways it is willing to use that data to make money.

The recent announcement that Facebook would soon target ads using your “likes” and “shares” has triggered some Olympic-level teeth- gnashing from the Electronic Frontier Foundation, because Facebook will get information from you not just when you actually like, “like” something, but when you load a page that has a “like” button on it. Major Hollywood Actor Opens up About His Christian Faith

Hollywood actor Hugh Jackman, who will play the apostle Paul in an upcoming film, has opened up about his Christian faith and revealed that he seeks to honor God with his performances.

In a recent interview with Parade magazine, the 46-year-old Australian native first revealed that he was inspired to go into acting as a young boy after watching pastors speak in church.

“I’m a Christian. I was brought up very religious. I used to go to different evangelists’ [revival] tents all the time,” he said, “When I was about 13, I had a weird premonition that I was going to be onstage, like the preachers I saw.”

When asked what acting gives him that he “really needs”, Jackman said, “That’s the best question I’ve ever been asked. Peace. There are things driving me that aren’t all healthy-[needing] approval and respect to fill some hole who-knows-where in me. Am I worthy? All those fears. Through acting, I’m able to find a level of bliss and peace and calm and joy. And it feels natural” . . .

“This is going to sound weird to you. In Chariots of Fire the runner Eric Liddell says, ‘When I run, I feel His pleasure.’ And I feel that pleasure when I act and it’s going well, particularly onstage,” Jackman said. (Read more from “Major Hollywood Actor Opens up About His Christian Faith” HERE)

Here’s the Insane Reason a University Is Apologizing for the Food They Served

Clemson Dining’s “Maximum Mexican” night, has become a student favorite over the last several years, and this year was no different, at first.

Everything was going great. Students were loving the food and festivities. Except for two students, who took to Twitter to voice their displeasure with the school’s decision to host such a “#CUlturallyInsensitive” event.

While a few on Twitter were offended, the overwhelming preponderance of students registered absolutely no reaction at all. The one student who did respond to the Twitter complaints wrote, “I’m offended that you’re offended. #CUfiestafiasco” . . .

“This is something that Clemson Dining has done for years without any sort of backlash. People love the cultural nights in the dining halls,” [Clemson senior Austin] Pendergist said. “What’s next? Are they going to take away all potato based food as to not offend students from Irish decent? Remove the stir fry station so Asian-American students don’t feel as if they are being misrepresented? When does it end?”

The university, however, took a different position. Dr. Doug Hallenbeck, Clemson University’s Senior Associate Vice President of Student Affairs apologized for the event’s “flattened cultural view of Mexican culture.” (Read more from “Here’s the Insane Reason a University Is Apologizing for the Food They Served” HERE)

Franklin Graham Will Headline Election-Year Prayer Rallies in All 50 States

Those Republicans and Democrats running hard for president won’t be the only ones headlining rallies next year in Iowa, New Hampshire and scores of other states . . .

In January, the North Carolina evangelist will embark on what he’s dubbed the “Decision America Tour” – election-year prayer rallies in the capital cities of all 50 states. Covering four or more states a month, he should be on the road until at least Election Day.

Graham, who heads the Charlotte-based Billy Graham Evangelistic Association, explained it this way in a news release: “I do not believe Republicans or Democrats or any other party can turn this nation around – only God can. God hears the prayers of his people, so we’ll be calling on Christians in every state to pray fervently and faithfully for America.”

He’ll also call on them to vote – or, in the words of the news release, “to live and promote biblical principles at home, in public and at the ballot box” . . .

Graham will kick off his 2016 campaign in Iowa, just like those White House wannabes vying in that state’s caucuses. Graham will be in Des Moines on Jan. 5, less than a month before the vote there. On Jan. 19, he’ll speak in Concord in New Hampshire – the state with the first presidential primary, on Feb. 9. Actor Likens Abortion to Gun Deaths as He Wears Political T-Shirt

He has made no secret of his political leanings and Kelsey Grammer took to Instagram to get behind another cause close to his heart.

The 60-year-old recently modeled an anti-abortion T-shirt, which likens the procedure to gun deaths, for a social media post.

Grammer, who is best known for playing Dr. Frasier Crane, has previously stated he is an ‘out of the closet Republican’.

The shirt, featuring a handgun graphic, states: ‘Would it bother us more if they used guns? Abort73.com’.

The website, which sells the T-shirts, is an anti-abortion campaign aimed at attempting to change people’s minds about the controversial issue. (Read more from “Actor Likens Abortion to Gun Deaths as He Wears Political T-Shirt” HERE)

Amazing Video Shows Babies ‘SINGING’ in the Womb

Unborn babies are able to hear in the womb at just 16 weeks gestation, a new study has revealed.

For the first time scientists at the Institut Marques in Barcelona have shown a fetus is able to detect sounds, and furthermore, that they respond by moving their mouths and tongues.

It is accepted that an unborn baby’s ear is fully developed at week 16 of a pregnancy.

But, until now experts did not believe a fetus could hear until week 18, at the earliest but more commonly nearer 26 weeks.

Dr Marisa Lopez-Teijon, who led the study, said the findings show a fetus responds to music transmitted intravaginally by moving their mouth and tongue, ‘as if they were trying to speak or sing’. (Read more from “Amazing Video Shows Babies ‘SINGING’ in the Womb” HERE)

This University Has Dumped Transgender Bathrooms After Peeping Incidents

The administration at the University of Toronto was recently enlightened on why two separate washrooms are generally established for men and women sharing co-ed residencies.

The University is temporarily changing its policy on gender-neutral bathrooms after two separate incidents of “voyeurism” were reported on campus September 15 and 19. Male students within the University’s Whitney Hall student residence were caught holding their cellphones over female students’ shower stalls and filming them as they showered.

Melinda Scott, dean of students at the University of Toronto, told The Daily Wire that campus police had been contacted immediately and worked with residence staff to “support impacted students and ensure the safety of the Residences.”

“Given the serious nature of these incidents and the impact on directly affected students, we made the decision to specifically designate some washrooms in Whitney Hall for those who identify as men and those who identify as women,” Scott said . . .

Of course the University maintained it would not be so intolerant as to limit men and women to designated bathrooms. Instead, it is a “temporary measure” to “provide a safe space for the women who have been directly impacted by the incidents of voyeurism and other students who may feel more comfortable in a single gender washroom in the wake of these events.” (Read more from “This University Has Dumped Transgender Bathrooms After Peeping Incidents” HERE)

Exposed: Here Are the 25 Politicians Who Have Benefited From Planned Parenthood the Most

By Randy DeSoto. Sadly, it is not surprising that every Democrat that has voted against defunding Planned Parenthood since 2000 received financial contributions from the organization.

Life News reports that it was Senate Democrats who blocked a measure to defund Planned Parenthood in August in a 53-46 vote on a cloture motion. This tally fell short of the 60 votes required to block a senate filibuster.

The Blaze assembled a list of the top 25 beneficiaries of Planned Parenthood political contributions, whether through its PAC or employees. Not surprisingly topping that list is Barack Obama, who some have described as the most pro-abortion president in United States history. Every single one of the top 25 recipients since 1990 was a Democrat.

“According to the Center for Responsive Politics, during the 2014 election cycle, PP gave $892,000 to Democrats and $3,100 to Republicans. The 2012 election cycle was even more generous to the Democrats, with $1.2 million to Dems compared to $26,600 to GOPers,” TheBlaze reports.

“The financial ties between Planned Parenthood and Democrats run deep, with the taxpayer-funded women’s health care and abortion provider’s employees and political arms donating at least $25 million to party lawmakers over the past 15 years,” according to Fox News . . .

Additionally, Sue Thayer, a former center manager for Planned Parenthood for 17 years, is expected to testify on Thursday before the House Judiciary Committee that the organization has been systematically defrauding the American taxpayers, the Daily Caller reports. By federal law, Planned Parenthood is barred from using taxpayer money to perform abortions. House OKs Planned Parenthood Probe

By Associated Press. The Republican-led House voted Wednesday to create a special panel to investigate Planned Parenthood and its procurement of fetal tissue as the GOP continued pressing an issue that has galvanized conservatives since secret videos surfaced this summer.

The near party-line vote was 242-184, as Democrats dismissed the probe as a wasteful political exercise by the GOP. It was unclear if Democrats would participate in the committee’s work.

Republicans said the committee was needed to examine whether Planned Parenthood is breaking laws or misusing taxpayer money. Four other congressional committees are already investigating the women’s health organization, three in the House and one in the Senate. (Read more from “House OKs Planned Parenthood Probe” HERE)

Franklin Graham: Obama Supports Same-Sex Marriage and Abortion Because He’s ‘Guided by’ Islam

By David Edwards. Rev. Franklin Graham this week suggested that President Barack Obama was to blame for the slaughter of Christians in the Middle East because his policies were “against Christ.”

Newsmax host Steve Malzberg argued during an interview with Graham that the president “claims to be a devout Christian who can’t bring himself to feel anything” about the death of Christians in the Middle East.

“The president, when he was growing up, his influences were Islam,” Graham opined. “His paternal father is Muslim, his step father was a Muslim, he went to Muslim schools. So, his formative years were all guided by influences of Islam.”

“And so, his Christian position, I don’t know,” the pastor continued. “All I know is that the policies that he has stood behind as president have been against Christ and against his teaching. Abortion is a sin, and if you look at same-sex marriage, this is a sin against God.”

“And the president has stood defiantly against God. And against his teaching. And the teachings of the scriptures.” (Read more from “Franklin Graham: Obama Supports Same-Sex Marriage and Abortion Because He’s ‘Guided by’ Islam” HERE)

Obama Authorizes Airstrikes in Iraq to Protect U.S. Officials and Refugees Trapped by ISIS Rebels

By David Martosko. President Obama, who ran for office on a platform of ending U.S. military hostilities in Iraq, said Thursday night that he had authorized ‘targeted airstrikes if necessary’ in an effort to protect the delivery of humanitarian aid to threatened Iraqis, and to ensure the safety of US personnel delivering the assistance.

‘We do whatever is necessary to protect our people. We support our allies when they’re in danger,’ Obama said in an eight-minute speech delivered from the White House’s State Dining Room.

But American combat troops will not be returning to fight in Iraq, he insisted, and the U.S. won’t be ‘dragged into fighting another war in Iraq,’ despite the possibility that militant Islamists in ISIS – a terror group purporting to have created a Muslim caliphate in the Middle East – may be perpetrating a ‘genocide.’

The White House began airlifting humanitarian aid on Thursday night to thousands of displaced religious minorities in northern Iraq, a U.S. official told MailOnline.

Among them are about 40,000 refugees who hid on a mountain after being threatened with what Obama has called a ‘potential act of genocide.’ (Read more from this story HERE)

Houston Transgender Bathroom Bill Debate Centers on Differing Definitions of ‘Men’

The noisy debate over this city’s Proposition 1 has centered on whether it would allow men to use women’s public restrooms, which boils down to how you define “men” and “women.”

In a battle that has ranged from bathroom etiquette to gender rights to constitutional debates over religious freedom, a key skirmish broke out after former Houston Astros baseball all-star Lance Berkman appeared in an ad saying that the Nov. 3 ballot measure would “allow troubled men who claim to be women to enter women’s bathrooms, showers and locker rooms,” and the Yes on 1 campaign fired back.

“Prop. 1 will NOT allow men to enter women’s restrooms,” says a post on the website Houston Unites, the group supporting Proposition 1.

By “men,” however, the campaign is excluding biological men who identify as women. Proposition 1 would ban discrimination in public accommodations such as restrooms based on 15 characteristics, including gender identity.

In other words, anyone who tries to stop a biological man who identifies as a woman from using a women’s room would be in violation and could face fines of up to $5,000, if the measure succeeds.
