A 78-year-old woman in Jerusalem is crediting God and a Good Samaritan for her ability to escape a recent terror attack. One of numerous violent incidents across the region in recent weeks, Marike Veldman recalled spotting two suspicious men on the bus she was riding last week.
“I thought to myself, ‘What were they doing on a bus at this hour? They should be at work,” she explained.
Within moments, Veldman said the men began praising Allah as one fired shots and the other began stabbing her . . .
Though two individuals died in the attack, Veldman survived – as did 15 other injured passengers – and was taken to a nearby hospital for treatment. She said she immediately turned to her faith as she was being stabbed. “I cried constantly in Dutch,” she said, “‘Lord Jesus! Lord Jesus! Help me! Help me!’”
As she called out to Jesus, Veldman said the man backed away, allowing her to escape through the bus’s open door. (Read more from “Muslim Starts Stabbing Elderly Woman, Then She Utters These Words and He Stops Immediately” HERE)

Late in the first half of Mexico Central Academy’s regular-season football finale at Vernon-Verona-Sherrill on Saturday, Tigers’ quarterback Dante Turo took a snap from center and bolted 73 yards for a touchdown.
As he crossed the goal line well ahead of any V-V-S defenders, Turo, a devout Christian, raised his right arm and pointed skyward. He also held the football up with his left hand.
“I was just trying to give glory to God,” Turo said Tuesday.
Instead of signalling a touchdown, an official standing on the goal line reached into his back pocket and tossed up a yellow penalty flag.
The call: Turo was flagged for unsportsmanlike conduct, for taunting, said Mexico head coach Tee Murabito, who questioned the call. (Read more from “Quarterback Flagged for Praising Jesus After Touchdown” HERE)

A former teacher has admitted trying to tempt an 11-year-old girl in her class to run away with her, it was reported.
Geraldine Alcorn became obsessed with the child and exchanged over 2,400 text messages in the space of two weeks early last year, police reportedly said . . .
Alcorn was caught when the girl’s mother found the text messages on her daughter’s iPhone.
She also found a ring binder with notes which read “Things Ms. Alcorn and I can do,” “What we can do” and “When we can do it”, WPXI reported.
Police said she left gifts and letters in the girl’s desk and locker when she cleared out her things from Beechwood Elementary School days later. (Read more from “Disturbing: Female Teacher Sends 2,400 Texts to 11-Year-Old Girl Begging Her to Do This” HERE)

The nonsensical propaganda that blacks cannot be racists should be clear to anyone. People of a variety of ethnicities can be racists. However, a recent video that was captured by a student in South Africa demonstrates that there are out of control blacks there just as we have seen here in the States. In fact, in the video below, you see a class or white students barricading themselves in the classroom as racist black activists demand they get out or they will be killed.
According to the post, which appeared on SA News Facebook page:
Terrified White Students Barricade Themselves in Classroom from Hundreds of “activated” Racist Blacks shouting “All white people get out or else we will kill you” – guess the blacks got the message when the President of the country, Zuma, sings “Kill the Boer, Kill the Farmer” on a public podium…
The video was produced by Cape Town student Anne Landman, which shows a group of white students had barricaded themselves in a classroom against hundreds of black rioters outside and posted on October 20. She explains on her FB page:
“So this happened. I stopped filming before things got out of hand as we were scared they would damage property, which they did. Hundreds of rioters outside those doors,” she wrote on her Facebook page. “People were cornered and taunted. Some of our students were beaten up for trying to keep the doors closed. The doors are now broken. They stormed in with balaclavas on, shouting horrible things in our direction.” (Read more from “Terrified White Students Barricade Themselves in Classroom as Hundreds of Black Activists Violently Demand This” HERE)

When Francisco Javier Chavez posted bail on charges of beating a California toddler within an inch of her life in late July, there was little reason to expect the illegal immigrant, who has spent much of his adult life hopping back and forth across the Mexican border, would return to face justice.
Two weeks later, at his scheduled arraignment on Aug. 13, Chavez was a no-show. The 27-year-old career criminal had put up $10,000, or 10 percent of the amount set for his alleged crimes by California’s bail schedule. His disappearance is hardly a surprise to critics who believe violent illegal immigrants are, by definition, flight risks who should be denied bail in such serious cases. They say judges, especially in border states plagued by illegal immigrant crime, are naive or worse if they expect suspects who regularly cross in and out of Mexico to take the U.S. justice system seriously.
“Frankly, judges grant bail in cases like these because they are being foolish,” said Hans A. von Spakovsky, a former Justice Department lawyer now at The Heritage Foundation’s Edwin Meese III Center for Legal and Judicial Studies. “The judge can consider bail for you when you are charged with a crime, but does not have to let you out on bail. If the state can show you are a flight risk, you should not get bail. If the state can show you are a danger to the public because of a history of violence, you should not get bail.”
While Chavez is in the wind, his alleged victim, the 2-year-old daughter of his live-in girlfriend, is now in foster care, paralyzed from the beating that also left her with both arms and a femur broken. Well before he was arrested in San Luis Obispo County for attacking the child, Chavez had compiled a lengthy criminal record that includes assault and drug convictions and arrests for violent acts such as kidnapping, car-jacking and cruelty to a child. He was deported in February 2014, but as in previous instances, found it easy to sneak back across the border and into the U.S.
Weeks after Chavez slipped out of custody, on Sept. 1, another 2-year-old toddler named Jonathan Montez was run down and killed in San Bernardino County. Illegal immigrant Jose Enrique Vasquez, 53, an unlicensed driver who witnesses said was speeding down the child’s residential street, fled the scene, according to authorities. He was arrested two weeks later, and, like Chavez, was granted bail. (Read more from “‘Obvious Flight Risk’: Toddler’s Brutal Beating Prompts Call to Withhold Bail From Illegal Aliens” HERE)
By Tim Brown. It’s interesting how the stupidity of those that hate Christianity, America and the protections of freedom afforded Americans is on display daily in various newspapers, magazines and on a myriad of websites. Of note, is Salon.com, who recently hosted an article by D. Watkins on Friday, in which he wrote, “I believe that being shot should be requirement [sic] for gun ownership in America. It’s very simple.”
Well, in return, I believe that those who write such asinine articles as Mr. Watkins should be required to be taught the Constitution.
Watkins wants to do an end run around the Second Amendment by attacking bullets. He made an appeal to Chris Rock, a filthy mouthed no good actor, who said, “We don’t need gun control. We need bullet control––if bullets were $5000, people would think before they shot some one! You gotta really piss someone off for them to dump $50,000 worth of bullets in to you!”
Meanwhile, Rock was summoned to the heavily guarded White House to support Hussein Obama’s gun control package in 2013, and I’m sure he probably had armed guards. So, like everyone else, I simply say, “Lead the way Chris and Mr. Watkins, start making sure each of the bullets in those who protect you are paid for out of their salary at $5,000 each.”
That won’t happen though and that isn’t where Watkins ends his statement. That’s just where it begins, and note, it begins with lawlessness (attacking the Law). (Read more from “Insane New Liberal Argument – Americans Who Defend Gun Rights Should Be SHOT” HERE)

A Look at the Facts on Gun-Free Zones
By John Lott. Some have a hard time accepting that criminals can be deterred from committing crimes. They don’t believe that potential mass shooters have second thoughts when faced with the prospect of armed citizens who can fight back. They seem to think that everyday Americans can’t help stop attacks.
But it is getting hard to ignore that mass public shooters keep choosing to attack locations where victims can’t defend themselves. It’s little wonder that gun-control advocates resort to desperate tactics.
There have been a series of articles from Politico, the Huffington Post, Slate, and the New York Daily News with similar titles meant to cast doubt on defensive gun use, such as “the myth of the good guy with the gun.”
Since at least 1950, all but two public mass shootings in America have taken place where general citizens are banned from carrying guns. In Europe, there have been no exceptions. Every mass public shooting — and there have been plenty of mass shooting in Europe — has occurred in a gun-free zone. In addition, they have had three of the six worst K–12 school shootings, and Europe experienced by far the worst mass public shooting perpetrated by a single individual (Norway in 2011, which from the shooting alone left 67 people dead and 110 wounded). Marijuana use among U.S. adults doubled over a decade, rising to almost 10 percent or more than 22 million mostly recreational users, government surveys show.
The trend reflects a cultural shift and increasingly permissive views about the drug, the researchers say, noting that other studies have shown increasing numbers of adults think marijuana should be legalized. Recreational use is now permitted in four states . . .
The results come from a comparison of health surveys from 2001-02 and 2012-13 sponsored by the National Institute on Alcohol Abuse and Alcoholism. Almost 80,000 adults aged 18 and older participated in face-to-face interviews about various health-related behaviors. Results were published Wednesday in the journal JAMA Psychiatry. A conservative student at the University of Missouri was the target of racially motivated attacks on Twitter Tuesday evening, merely for defending a statue of Thomas Jefferson.
“My political beliefs should not be determined by my race, as was suggested by the tweets received today,” Jasmine Wells, the subject of the tweet, told Campus Reform.
Members of the Mizzou College Republicans hosted a “Stand With Jefferson” rally Tuesday to show support for an on-campus statue of Thomas Jefferson. Campus Reform first covered the uproar on Oct. 13 after students defaced the Jefferson statue with post-it notes with phrases such as “Racist,” “Rapist,” and “Slave Owner.”
Today’s event was organized as a direct response to those activities, and somewhat predictably, sparked outrage on Twitter.
Along with the tweet directed at Wells, Twitter users complained that “#StandWithJefferson is fighting for a slave owning rapist’s statue instead of fighting for the ACTUAL RIGHTS of ACTUAL PEOPLE on campus,” and declared, “#StandWithJefferson because white people would rather celebrate a predatory slave owner than admit that #BlackLivesMatter.” (Read more from “College Student Labeled ‘Uncle Tom’ for Defending Thomas Jefferson Statue” HERE)

Wait. Attitudes toward God and immigrants? Are these a natural pair? The newspaper thought so. They tell of an experiment which “claims to be able to make Christians no longer believe in God and make Britons open their arms to migrants.” How’s it done? “Using a technique called transcranial magnetic stimulation” researchers can “safely shut down certain groups of neurones” in the brain.
It seems to have worked. Volunteers were coaxed into having their brains zapped by giant magnets. And, lo! “Belief in God was reduced almost by a third, while participants became 28.5 per cent less bothered by immigration numbers.”
The news report was based on the paper “Neuromodulation of group prejudice and religious belief” by Colin Holbrook and four others in the journal Social Cognitive and Affective Neuroscience. This paper is one in a long line of studies that purport to explain the workings of the human mind based on responses to simple questionnaires.
It’s true. Scientists in some fields have convinced themselves they can quantify the unquantifiable. They believe hideously complex human emotions can be adequately represented on scales of 1 to 5 (or some other bounds). For instance, on a scale of -4 to 4, how much do you agree with the statement, “There exists an all-powerful, all-knowing, loving God”?
Before you answer, consider. Is the distance in belief from 3 to 4 the same as it is from 2 to 3, and from 1 to 2, and so on? Are these distances exactly the same in all people? What happens if the scale were to be changed from -4 to 4 to one from 1 to 9, which is the same length? Would the results be the same? Does everybody agree on the precise definitions of “all-powerful,” “all-knowing” and so on?
The answer is obviously no to all these questions, but Holbrook’s results, and the results from thousands of such investigations, assume the answer is yes. It’s worse than this. Consider the same question about God but after you answer these two questions: “Please briefly describe the emotions that the thought of your own death arouses in you” and “Please jot down, as specifically as you can, what you think will happen to your body as you physically die and once you are physically dead.”
Why? Because, the authors say (in the supplementary material to the main article), these “threat-inductions” have an “evident link between the prospect of death and palliative thoughts of God and the afterlife, and also because” thinking about your own death “has been shown to reliably heighten both intergroup prejudice and religiosity in prior studies.” Thinking about life after death increases intergroup prejudices? That must explain the riot in the pews each Sunday after the Nicene creed is read (“I look for the resurrection of the dead, and the life of the world to come”). And are palliative thoughts about death the only reason people believe in God? Of course not. This prejudicial prompting is of dubious value.
In the study, questions about belief in God, the niceness of immigrants, and several other subjects were asked of volunteers, half of whom were zapped with magnets. These magnets were aimed at a region in the brain the researchers thought was related to emotions about God and immigrants. Yet brain “regions” of complex emotions are far from well understood. In Brainwashed: The Seductive Appeal of Mindless Neuroscience Sally Satel (psychiatrist) and Scott Lilienfeld (psychologist) say “the half-life of facts can be especially brief” in this field. New results disprove older ones continuously.
After the zapping, all participants were re-asked the same questions. Turns out participants “reported an average of 32.8% less conviction in positive religious beliefs” than those who weren’t zapped. That’s 32.8% and not 32.7%, mind you. In science we demand precision! A wee p-value confirmed that this change was “statistically significant.” There isn’t space here to explain the horror of this statistical approach, but interested readers can learn more here.
This is where it gets interesting. There was, as we have just seen, a small change in the answers to pseudo-quantified questions about positive religious beliefs, but there weren’t any “significant” changes in the answers to pseudo-quantified questions about negative religious beliefs. The same sort of thing happened in the questions about immigrants: Some had wee p-values and some did not. And there were no changes in any of the other questions asked. Yet which “findings” got the headlines?
We still haven’t answered the big question: why. Why did the authors design a study about belief in God and attitudes about immigrants? From their conclusion, written in the impenetrable prose typical of such “studies”:
History teaches that investment in cherished group and religious values can bring forth acts of both heroic valor and horrific injustice. Understanding the psychological and biological determinants of increases in ideological commitment may ultimately help us to identify the situational triggers of, and individuals most susceptible to, this phenomenon, and thereby gain some leverage over the zealous acts that follow. …The results provide evidence that relatively abstract personal and social attitudes are susceptible to targeted neuromodulation, opening the way for researchers to not only describe the biological mechanisms undergirding high-level attitudes and beliefs, but also to establish causality via experimental intervention.
Did you catch that? These scientists hope that in the future belief in God, or in some other politically incorrect question that might — only might — lead to “zealous acts,” can be treated, maybe even cured, by magnet zappings. And there you have the real danger that follows from believing you can quantify the unquantifiable. Los Angeles Mayor Eric Garcetti faced throngs of hostile protesters at a community meeting Monday night as chaos descended on a gathering that had been intended as a forum for him to improve his fraught relationship with the black communities of South L.A.
The meeting at Holman United Methodist Church, attended by several hundred, was quickly overtaken by about 50 protesters from organizations including the national activist group Black Lives Matter, which was formed in the wake of high-profile police killings of young black men. As Garcetti spoke to a full house in the church’s cavernous sanctuary hall, the demonstrators stood and turned their backs to him.
Toward the end of the hourlong session Garcetti, ringed by police officers, struggled to reach his car as he was swarmed by a crowd of chanting activists — and once inside the vehicle, he was forced to wait amid blaring sirens until the crowd was dispersed by the LAPD.
“The mayor has neglected, disrespected and abused the black community for far too long,” Melina Abdullah, a professor of Pan African Studies at Cal State L.A. and organizer for Black Lives Matter, said at the meeting. “We are here today because this is real for us. This is not a political game. This is not about your reelection. This is about our lives.”
Others voiced exasperation at what they described as the usurping of a general-purpose community meeting by a small and unrepresentative group of protesters. Many of those seated in the pews as the meeting began rose and left as the faction of protesters became more strident in questioning Garcetti. Others tried to quiet the demonstrators when they interrupted Garcetti. (Read more from “Now Facing Hostile Black Lives Matter Protesters, Garcetti’s South L.A. Forum Ends Abruptly” HERE)
