Heartbreaking Video Shows Dad Singing to Dying Newborn Days After Losing Wife in Childbirth

chrispicco4Childbirth is normally a wonderful and beautiful process. But, every once in a while, it goes tragically wrong.

A video a father has made showing him singing to his dying newborn baby after losing his wife in childbirth is making the rounds on social media because of the heartbreaking story behind it. Tragically, Chris Picco, who is 30, lost his wife Ashley on September 30 after an emergency C-section to deliver the couple’s son, Lennon James.

Days later, Picco took to his guitar to gently sing Paul McCartney’s “Blackbird” to his prematurely born baby. Lennon was born at 24 weeks and unfortunately did not survive either.

He reportedly died hours after the video, below, was recorded and posted on YouTube.

Judge Served On the Board of Planned Parenthood and Pro-Kids Inc. At the Same Time

Pro-life advocates in Cincinnati say a federal judge who once served on the board of Planned Parenthood has a blatant conflict of interest if he hears a case to determine whether a Cincinnati Planned Parenthood abortion facility will remain open. Right to Life of Greater Cincinnati found the disclosure on a questionnaire filed with the U.S. Senate Judiciary Committee when President Obama named Black to the bench in 2010.

But that’s not the only conflict the questionnaire presents.

At the same time that Judge Timothy S. Black was president of Planned Parenthood, he also served on the board of a group called Pro-Kids Inc.

Christian School’s ROTC Under Attack

Do Christian colleges have the right to require that ROTC officers be followers of the Christian faith?

That’s the crux of a controversy surrounding the ROTC program at Wheaton College, one of the nation’s most prominent Christian schools.

The U.S. Army says they have launched a review of ROTC policies nationwide after the Military Religious Freedom Foundation raised concerns about an ROTC assignment listing for an assistant professor of military science at Wheaton.

The MRFF noted that the person hired “must be of Christian faith.”

“While Wheaton is a private Christian college, and can impose a religious test on its own faculty members, it cannot impose that same religious test on the faculty members provided by the U.S. Army for its ROTC program, and the U.S. Army unequivocally cannot require a religious test for any ROTC assignment, regardless of the religious preference of the college at which that ROTC assignment exists,” MRFF founder Mikey Weinstein wrote in a letter sent in November to Secretary of the Army John McHugh.

'God Is the Real Hero': Dad Stops Kidnapper Who Snatched Girl From Bedroom (+video)

Steve Doocy sat down this morning with a Utah man who amazingly saved his stepdaughter from a kidnapper who had taken her from her bed in the middle of the night.

“There was a man in my home and he took my 5-year-old daughter,” the girl’s mother said in a chilling 911 call last Friday morning.

“And I happen to wake up and he had my daughter outside, and my husband ran out there and got her from him. But he took my 5-year-old daughter.”

It turns out the kidnapper had entered the Salt Lake City-area home through an unlocked door.

After handing the child over unharmed, the intruder fled the scene and was apprehended by police several blocks away.

Hillary Clinton: It’s Not Enough to be a Woman, You Have to be Committed to Abortion

Candidates such as out-going Colorado Senator Mark Udall and Iowa Senator-wanna-be-but-defeated Iowa Rep. Bruce Braley, along with other Democratic candidates, ran campaigns based on an extremist pro-abortion position. They were absolutely convinced that the American public would vote for candidates who say it’s okay to kill helpless, innocent unborn babies at any stage, provided they mischaracterized opposition to this extremism as a “war on women.”

But they took this charade even further. Pro-abortion figures such as Hillary Clinton and Planned Parenthood president Cecile Richards tried to tell voters that female candidates who oppose abortion know nothing about what women really want.

Clinton, at a pro-Braley rally, told voters in Iowa, “It’s not enough to be a woman, you have to be committed to expand rights and opportunities for all women.” Because Joni Ernst (who defeated Braley) thinks unborn babies should be protected, she isn’t committed to expanding rights and opportunities for women?

Obviously, the voters didn’t see Ernst in that light. She won by almost a hundred thousand votes and she is now the pro-life Senator-elect from Iowa.

Pro-abortion advocates like to say abortion is a woman’s issue, but only pro-abortion women should voice their opinions. Indeed, they come very close to saying it is illegitimate for a woman who is pro-life to speak on abortion. The voices of pro-life women just don’t count. The hypocrisy, or should I say the gall, of people who think you have to want to kill unborn children in order to be pro-woman is stunning.

Laundry Pods Pose Serious Poisoning Risk to Young Children

Laundry pods, those colorful packets that can be easily tossed into the washing machine, aren’t just convenient, they’re dangerous for young children— sending one a day to the hospital.

New research conducted by researchers at Nationwide Children’s Hospital in Columbus, Ohio, found that from 2012 through 2013, U.S. poison control centers received reports of 17,230 children younger than age 6 swallowing, inhaling or being exposed to chemicals in laundry detergent pods. Nearly two-thirds of the cases involved 1 and 2 year olds. A total of 769 young children had to be hospitalized, an average of one per day.

“If I were a kid, I’d like to pick it up and play with it … it looks like it was made for young children to have fun with,” study co-author Dr. Marcel J. Casavant, chief of toxicology at Nationwide Children’s Hospital and medical director of the Central Ohio Poison Center, told FoxNews.com.

The study found that effects of consuming laundry pods included: vomiting (48 percent of cases), coughing and choking (13 percent), eye pain or irritation (11 percent), drowsiness or lethargy (7 percent), mouth pain, burning, difficulty breathing, and windpipe injuries. While vomiting is a symptom with traditional liquids and powders, typically it happens once or twice and that’s the end of it, Casavant noted. With the pods, side effects are significantly worse.

A number of children had to be admitted to intensive care and intubated, while a handful fell into a coma. Others showed a “significant altered mental state” and had trouble staying awake, Casavant said.”

Feminist Prof: America Should Stop Putting Women in Jail for Anything

A feminist professor claims that America should stop putting all women in jail. For anything.

Patricia O’Brien, an assistant professor at the University of Illinois’s Jane Addam’s College of Social Work, contends that the majority of women in prison are merely non-violent, poorly educated, unemployed, and abused, according to her op-ed in The Washington Post.

“What purpose is served by subjecting the most disempowered, abused and nonviolent women to the perpetually negative environment of prisons?” asks O’Brien.

The professor argues that women are more likely than men to have children “who rely on them for support,” and that imprisonment does more harm to the individual than good for society.

“The United States is a prison nation,” wrote O’Brien. “The federal government also spends tens of billions to police, prosecute and imprison people, though research demonstrates that incarceration harms individual well-being and does not improve public safety.”

Parents Shocked to Learn Planned Parenthood Teaching Their Kids Sex Ed in School

It’s no surprise that Planned Parenthood promotes abortion every chance they get. They facilitate massive campaigns to elect pro-abortion politicians; they run online and print ads about their “life-saving services” to get women through their doors; and they deceive American’s by saying abortion only accounts for 3% of their services.

However, as Abby Johnson shared with us, the truth is Planned Parenthood’s entire business modelis based off of abortion. Over the past three years, they’ve performed nearly one million abortions and in 2012, abortions made up 93.8% of Planned Parenthood’s pregnancy services. That means 9 out 10 pregnant women who walk into a Planned Parenthood receive an abortion.

But to make matters worse, they aren’t just manipulating adults, they’re also trying to influence our children by getting into our public school system. They’ve done it in the past and they’re doing it again in a California school district.

Parents Torture and Beat 3-Year-Old Boy to Death for Not Eating His Breakfast

In a horrific case out of Pennsylvania, police say a man and his girlfriend have been charged with murdering their three-year-old son — torturing and killing him because he didn’t want to eat his breakfast.

Chester County District Attorney Tom Hogan announced that Gary Fellenbaum and Jillian Tait were arrested yesterday. The arrests came after emergency personnel responded to a call at their mobile home about an unresponsive child. There, they found 3-year-old Scott McMillan suffering from bruises, lacerations and puncture wounds all over his body.

According to police, Fellenbaum, Tait, and Fellenbaum’s wife, Amber confessed to authorities that they beat Scott, hit him with sharp objects, tied him up to a chair with electrical tape and eventually hug the little boy up by his feet and beat him to death. Tait explained that the fatal beating began when the boy wouldn’t eat his breakfast, according to reports.

Why do these kinds of cases happen?

The pro-life movement has long said abortion has a slippery slope that leads to an overall disrespect for human life. When it’s just as easy to take the life of a child in an abortion as it is to purchase a can of soda at store, perhaps society has become a place where parents no longer have the respect for children they once did.

Feminist Professor Who Attacked Pro-Life Protesters Now Hit With Civil Lawsuit

The pro-life group Life Legal Defense Foundation (LLF) filed a civil lawsuit Thursday against the University of California, Santa Barbara and feminist professor Mireille Miller-Young, who was recently convicted of stealing from and assaulting pro-life protesters earlier this year.

The feminist studies professor, who specializes in queer theory and pornography, went on a video-recorded rampage in March when she stole and destroyed a pro-life poster, before attacking and causing minor injuries to 16-year-old protestor Thrin Short.

In July, Miller-Young was convicted of assaulting Short, and stealing and destroying the protestors’ property.
