Salon Editor: Guess What? I'm Having An Abortion Today

We all know Salon is a joke; a site dedicated to satisfying the liberal base with stories about racism, the Tea Party, and how to use male sex toys. But their assistant Jenny Kutner had a very special announcement: she’s having an abortion today at 10am EST (emphasis mine):

I’m pregnant. I just found out. I’m having an abortion on Saturday at 10 a.m.

And, it seems, no amount of background information — no critical mass of other women’s stories or screenings of “Obvious Child” — will give me much insight into how I, Jenny Kutner, will feel about my abortion when it happens. Still, I have been looking for background information, and I briefly tried to defy my stubbornly non-psychic brain by reading what other women have written about their abortion experiences.

There is, of course, a sort of collective narrative that has formed, especially amongst pro-choice women like myself. Here’s what I noticed about that larger collective narrative: It contains very few stories about what women experience just before their abortions. Mostly we only hear about a procedure in its aftermath. Right now, I do need to hear about the aftermath. I need to be reminded that on Saturday I will wake up pregnant and on Sunday I will not; I need to be reminded that my life will go on once I carry out this decision that is totally and completely right for me, not everyone, and that is totally and completely right for so many other women who have made or will make the same choice. But right now I’m not in the aftermath. I’m in a part of the abortion experience that feels just as crucial as the abortion itself.

Man Took Young Girl For Three Abortions After Impregnating Her, Clinics Ignored the Rapes

Last week the pro-life organization, Life Dynamics, Inc. released a stunning report which detailed actual criminal cases of adult pedophiles who used abortion to cover their crimes.

The group points out that in case after case where the predators impregnated their victims, the abortion clinics failed to report the abuse, leaving the young victims to suffer sometimes years of rape as a result.

One such case detailed by Life Dynamics was case of Martin Castillo who used abortion not once, not twice, but three times to conceal his rapes and three times the abortion clinic or clinics failed to report any suspicion of abuse.

In 2003, Martin Castillo began sexually abusing the 14-year-old daughter of his girlfriend. Court records show he warned the victim that if she told anyone what he was doing he would kill her and her mother.

Eventually, the abuse grew to the point that he was having intercourse with her three to four times a week.

Leading Liberal Website Falls for Fake Story about Michele Bachmann

Think Progress, a website operated by the liberal Center for American Progress, failed to vet a phony story which claimed that Minnesota U.S. Rep. Michele Bachmann proposed “Americanization” labor camps for Central American unaccompanied children.

“I’m calling on all of us, Obama and Congress and everyone, to chip in and build special new facilities…‘Americanization facilities,’ if you will,” Bachmann said, according to Think Progress, which has since corrected its embarrassing flub.

“And we’d send these kids to these facilities, in Arizona and Texas and wherever else. And we’d get private sector business leaders to locate to those facilities and give these children low-risk jobs to do. And they’d learn about the American way of life, earn their keep, and everyone wins in the end,” Bachmann continued, in Think Progress’ fantasy land.

Think Progress’ owner, the Center for American Progress, is populated with numerous veterans of the Clinton and Obama administrations.

Think Progress was snookered by a post at a website called KCTV 7, which presents itself as a news outlet based in Kansas City. A quick internet search reveals a number of online posts pointing out that KCTV 7 is a fake news site. It also shows no affiliation to major news networks. According to TV guide listings for the Kansas City area, channel 7 is not in use.

Robert Marmet knew he was supposed to inspect Martha Boneta’s farm, but he didn’t know exactly what for. He knew there were limits on what he could inspect, but he had no idea where they were.

So when Marmet, a senior energy policy analyst with the Piedmont Environmental Council, and his partner Mike Kane, a conservation officer with the group, turned up June 12 to inspect Boneta’s Liberty Farm in Paris, Va., they more or less inspected what they wanted to inspect.

They walked through the upstairs and downstairs portion of the barn that sits on the property. They inspected every room within—bathrooms, closets, storage rooms and offices. They looked over the farmer’s personal effects and even toured the basement area of the barn that housed some of the animals. They inspected “The Smithy,” an historical structure on the property that was once a blacksmith shop. They stood on chairs to peer into the loft area.

Watch How Jackson Police React When a Man Starts Dismantling a Pro-Life Display

Screen-Shot-2014-07-21-at-6.29.05-PM-620x340A video posted online late last week appears to show police in Jackson, Mississippi stand by as a protester steals multiple signs from a graphic pro-life display.

The footage, uploaded to YouTube by the organization behind the presentation, shows multiple officers appear to ignore complaints from the group as a man takes down their signs. The signs appeared to depict very graphic images showing the aftermath of abortion.

“We got a guy taking our signs and walking with them right now,” an individual can be seen telling officers in the video.

The officer does not appear to respond.

Earlier this week, Nancy Pelosi suggested that illegal children entering the country should be treated like “baby Jesus,” who was himself “a refugee” trying to be freed “from violence.”

Friday, the Minority Leader one-upped herself. (This is no easy task, mind you.)

As tweeted by Franchesca Chambers, political reporter at @DailyMailUS, and grabbed by Weasel Zippers:

87% of Babies With Cystic Fibrosis are Aborted, But We Could Never Kill This Bundle of Joy

A medical exam room is where most parents are presented with “their options” regarding life. It’s where they are overwhelmed with the unpleasant diagnoses that their unborn child has a life threatening genetic disorder. And, it’s where they are first presented with the challenges and trials that will mark their child’s entire time on earth.

But, it’s also where God’s blessings are revealed.

Our daughter, Porter Louise Vought, was born in February of this year with cystic fibrosis (CF) – a genetic disorder that affects an individual’s lungs and digestive organs. When a healthy individual catches a common cold their lungs fight off the sickness and eventually return to normal health. Individuals with CF can’t fight illness as well and in turn their lungs become scarred and riddled with irreversible damage that only increases with age. Often times this leads to lung and organ transplants and, eventually, a fatal lung disease with the average life expectancy in the early 40s.

There are currently only 30,000 individuals in the United States with CF. In recent years as prenatal testing has become a regular practice the number of babies being born with CF has decreased. According to a specific Kaiser Permanente report, 87% of babies who were diagnosed with cystic fibrosis were tragically aborted.

Ex-Planned Parenthood Director: They Told Me Every Baby Killed in Abortion Made Them $313.29

In a new expose’ video released today, a former Planned Parenthood abortion clinic director says Planned Parenthood put a price on the value of a human life: $313.29.

That’s the amount of money Abby Johnson says the Planned Parenthood abortion clinic she ran in south Texas would make every time it would kill a baby in an abortion. Johnson, who is now pro-life, released a video this morning exposing the abortion quotas that take place at Planned Parenthood.

In the video, Johnson says her supervisor informed her that her clinic needed to double the number of abortions it was doing and that it should be killing 1,135 babies per year to make the financial goals set up for her clinic by Planned Parenthood’s head honchos.

“This was bothersome to me as I truly believed that our goal was to reduce the number of abortions…after all, that’s what we always said to the media,” Johnson said. “When I voiced my concerns to my supervisor, she laughed and said, ‘But Abby, abortion is how we make our money.’”
