Jase and Missy Robertson of Duck Dynasty: Stay a Virgin Until Marriage (+video)

Photo Credit: Life News Duck Dynasty’s Phil Robertson went viral earlier this year when he talked about his pro-life views, asking America about abortion, “What in the world happened to us?”

Robertson said at the time: “Listen, from the time you started inside your mother’s womb, Thomas Jefferson had it right, you have the God-given right to life for crying out loud. You’re this long (pointing to his finger). You’re a week old inside your mother. They suck you out of there when you’re about like that (point to finger again). You wouldn’t be here tonight!”

Now, he and his wife Missy have also put forward an exhortation to practice virginity until marriage.

During the K-Love fan awards this summer, the pair shared about their faith in God and how they’re using their popularity to reach people. They talk about their views in favor of abstinence.

Costco Labeling Bibles as Fiction

Photo Credit: CALEB KALTENBACHWhat do the Bible, “The Hunger Games” and “Fifty Shades of Grey” have in common? All three are works of fiction, according to the booksellers at Costco.

Pastor Caleb Kaltenbach made that shocking discovery last Friday as he was shopping for a present for his wife at a Costco in Simi Valley, Calif.

“All the Bibles were labeled as fiction,” the pastor told me. “It seemed bizarre to me.”

Kaltenbach is the lead pastor at Discovery Church, a non-denominational Christian congregation in southern California.

He thought there must be some sort of mistake so he scoured the shelf for other Bibles. Every copy was plastered with a sticker that read, “$14.99 Fiction.”

Abortionist: The Baby is Still Alive When I Pull on the Arm and Remove It

Photo Credit: Life News Why don’t those who support abortion believe what abortionists say about it?

For example, abortionist Curtis Boyd, who runs late-term clinics in Dallas and Albuquerque, made a “jarring admission” during an interview with WFAA in 2009:

“Am I killing?” Boyd said. “Yes, I am. I know that.”

During questioning in court in 1997 regarding his opposition to the Nebraska Partial Birth Abortion Ban, late-term abortionist LeRoy Carhart testified:

Attorney for the Defense: In that situation… are you… when you pull on the arm and remove it, is the fetus still alive?

‘We’ve fine-tuned Google Search to prevent links to child sexual abuse material from appearing in our results.’

The restrictions, which have been designed to apply in English-speaking countries, will be expanded to cover the rest of the world and 158 other languages in the next six months.

Mom Told By Judge To Stop Breastfeeding (+video)

Photo Credit: opposingviews.com A woman from Northampton County, Pa., became angry after being told by a judge that she could no longer breastfeed her 10-month-old daughter.

Jessica Moser, who has been in a custody battle with her daughter Jasmine’s father, was ordered by a family court judge two weeks ago to stop breastfeeding Jasmine so the child can spend two days overnight with her dad, WFMZ-TV reported.

Pumping breast milk is not an option because Moser says she can’t pump enough for two days, and Jasmine will not drink from a bottle.

“I’m feeling frustrated, hurt,” Moser told WFMZ-TV. “I’m trying to keep myself from crying, it’s very emotional.”

Moser says she has been the only one taking care of Jasmine since she was born last December.

How Your Company is Watching Your Waistline By Citing Obamacare Rules

Photo Credit: REUTERS/LUCAS JACKSONEmployers tried the carrot, then a small stick. Now they are turning to bigger cudgels.

For years they encouraged workers to improve their health and productivity with free screenings, discounted gym memberships and gift cards to lose weight. More recently, a small number charged smokers slightly higher premiums to get them to quit.

Results for these plans were lackluster, and healthcare costs continued to soar. So companies are taking advantage of new rules under President Barack Obama’s healthcare overhaul in 2014 to punish smokers and overweight workers.

Some will even force employees to meet weight goals, quit smoking and provide very personal information or pay up to thousands more annually for healthcare. That could disproportionately affect the poor, who are more likely to smoke and can’t afford the higher fees.

Nearly 40 percent of large U.S. companies will use surcharges in 2014, such as higher insurance premiums or deductibles for individuals who do not complete company-set health goals, according to a survey of 892 employers released in September by human resources consultancy Towers Watson and National Business Group on Health, which represents large employers.

Mother Reunites With Son 35 Years After His Abduction (+video)

Photo Credit: Kathy AmayaA Wisconsin mother whose 2-year-old son was abducted by her estranged husband 35 years ago recently received a life-changing phone call with the news she’d been waiting to hear for decades: Her son had been found.

In 1977, Kathy Amaya left her husband of several years and took their 1-year-old son, David, with her. She and David moved from their house in Chicago to her sister’s nearby home, and Kathy allowed her ex-husband to periodically visit the boy. The following year, when David was 2, the boy’s father picked him up so the two could spend the day together. “That was the last time I saw my son,” Amaya, now 60 and an assistant head housekeeper at a Holiday Inn Express in Eau Claire, Wisconsin, tells Yahoo Shine.

A few days later, her ex-husband called Amaya from Mexico and said he had taken David there on a one-month permit to live with his grandparents, but promised to bring the boy home after that. After the month came and went without David’s return and her ex-husband cutting off contact, she filed a police report. “The police couldn’t help because it was out of their jurisdiction,” she recounts. “It was infuriating.”

Over the next three and a half decades, Amaya tried to move on with her life, bearing four more children (three sons, now ages 34, 30, and 23; and a 25-year-old daughter) and later getting engaged. In more recent years, she began searching for David online. “As my other children grew older, I explained that they also had a brother who was taken by my ex-husband,” says Amaya. “I couldn’t hide the truth from them.”

Kidnapping Victim, Found Alive; Suspect Killed by Her Family Members

Photo Credit: CBS affiliate KLFYThe family of a missing Louisiana woman rescued her and killed her alleged abductor Friday, authorities said.

Authorities had been searching for Scott Thomas, 29, of Leonville, since Wednesday when he arrived at a daycare center and confronted Bethany Arceneaux, 29, of Duson.

Thomas, who is the father of Arceneaux’s child, allegedly forced Arceneaux into his vehicle and drove away. The pair’s 2-year-old child was left inside Arceneaux’s car at the daycare.

Lafayette Parish Sheriff’s Office spokesman Kip Judice confirmed Friday that friends and family were searching for Arceneaux Friday and entered a vacant house where they believed they heard someone screaming. Thomas, who was armed with a knife, allegedly began to injure Arceneaux and one of Arceneaux’s family members shot Thomas to stop him.

Judice told The Advertiser newspaper Thomas succumbed to injuries sustained in that confrontation.

According to Census Bureau statistics cited by National Geographic, while men still make up the majority of the 13.7 million hunters in the United States, 11 percent are women.

Many states, the magazine reports, are now hosting workshops, titled “Becoming An Outdoors-Woman” (BOW), which instruct participants in archery, shotgun and rifle shooting.

“There is definitely a high demand. We have over 3,000 women on our mailing list, and workshops fill up quickly,” Patricia Handy, information and education program manager at the Department of Natural Resources in Maryland, told National Geographic.

‘Killing Kennedy’: Co-Star Ginnifer Goodwin Says Rob Lowe was Channeling JFK

Photo Credit: Fox News On his first day on the set of “Killing Kennedy,” Rob Lowe saw Ginnifer Goodwin donning a replica of the pink suit worn by first lady Jacqueline Kennedy when President John F. Kennedy was assassinated.

Immediately, the intensity and the reality of what they were about to depict in the film hit home.

“Seeing her in that beautiful pink Chanel with bloodstains on it was unbelievably emotional,” Lowe said in an interview with The Associated Press on the set, briefly suppressing the accent he groomed to emulate JFK.

“It made it real,” he added. “If I were under any illusions about what we were doing, seeing her in that iconic moment was, I would say, sobering.”

It also set the tone for filming of the movie, which profiles the Kennedy family and gunman Lee Harvey Oswald. Filmed in Richmond, it premieres Sunday on the National Geographic Channel, several days before the 50th anniversary of JFK’s death in Dallas.
