Study: Marriage Linked To Higher Fertility

As society has moved further toward nontraditional unions, new research shows traditional marriage is linked to higher fertility rates while cohabitation and relationship instability is linked to lower fertility.

“Marriage and cohabitation are far from indistinguishable in a country often described as a second demographic transition forerunner,” the study out of Finland finds.

The cultural “retreat from marriage” has likely contributed to many societies falling below replacement fertility — about two children per woman — according to Institute for Family Studies senior fellow Dr. Laurie DeRose.

“Fewer enter marriage at all, and those who do marry typically do so later in life, often divorce, and either do not remarry or do not remarry quickly,” she wrote. “The retreat from marriage takes many adult years away from the normative context for childbearing.”

Despite the potential for a divorce and remarriage to increase one’s capacity to have more children — sometimes thought by population scientists to be an “engine for fertility” and a “silver lining” of the dissolution of the union — research shows that “the more common experience is for divorce to suppress childbearing.” (Read more from “Study: Marriage Linked To Higher Fertility” HERE)

Jordan Peterson Says Ontario Psychologist Regulator Requesting He Do Social Media Course

Prominent Canadian psychologist and author Dr. Jordan Peterson said the College of Psychologists of Ontario (CPO) is demanding he do a course about social media etiquette. . .

Peterson said he has been accused of harming people. He added none of the complainants are past or present clients or acquainted with any of them.

Peterson said he has to take social media training, with reports documenting his progress. If Peterson objects, he will face an in-person tribunal hearing and suspension of his right to practice as a licensed clinical psychologist.

About a dozen people from all over the world submitted complaints about his tweets and comments he made on The Joe Rogan Experience over four years, claiming they harmed people. He said the CPO decided to pursue these complaints even though they could have been dismissed as vexatious. Democrat Accused of Ridiculing Those Concerned About Sexual Harassment in Her Office, Mocking COVID Victims

Democratic Rep. Katie Porter of California has been accused by a former staffer of denigrating people for “reporting sexual harassment” and of other demeaning remarks.

These claims come just days after text messages leaked indicating Porter may have fired a staffer over her COVID-19 diagnosis.

The Huffington Post noted in 2018 that Porter, endorsed by Sen. Elizabeth Warren (D-Mass.) and Vice President Kamala Harris, was previously in an abusive relationship and subjected to sexual harassment at home.

Despite Porter’s possible personal insights into the gravity of the issue, one of her former staffers, Sasha Georgiades, indicated that the Democratic congresswoman berated at least one other staffer who had reported sexual harassment in her office, reported Fox News Digital.

Crocs Partners With Rupaul’s Drag Race for ‘Kids Fashion Show’

Footwear brand Crocs is partnering with RuPaul’s Drag Race UK for an all-ages “Kids Fashion Show” in London, United Kingdom. The event will also feature a “Drag Queen Story Time” in the “kid zone” of the drag convention.

Crocs will sponsor the Main Stage at the event, which will be featured on BBC Three, and will take place at the ExCeL London from January 6 to January 8, according to a report by The Industry Fashion.

A purported screenshot of an Instagram post by RuPaul’s DragCon reveals that there will also be a “Kids Fashion Show.”

“Want to walk the runway? No pre-registration required! All kids under 18 are welcome,” the post reads. “Kids and their guardians report to the side of the Main Stage at 12:45 PM. Sponsored by Crocs.”

World Boxing Council To Add Transgender Fighter Category

World Boxing Council president Mauricio Sulaiman has indicated that the WBC plans to develop a program in which transgender fighters compete against opponents who share the same biological sex — he is adamant that biological men should never fight against biological women.

“In boxing, a man fighting a woman must never be accepted regardless of gender change. There should be no grey area around this, and we want to go into it with transparency and the correct decisions. Woman to man or man to woman transgender change will never be allowed to fight a different gender by birth,” Sulaiman said, according to The Telegraph.

“We are creating a set of rules and structures so that transgender boxing can take place, as they fully deserve to if they want to box. We do not yet know the numbers that there are out there, but we’re opening a universal registration in 2023, so that we can understand the boxers that are out there – and we’ll start from there,” he said. Disturbing Report: At Least 34 Babies Born Alive in Botched Abortions Between 2020-2022

Abortion data from seven states in the U.S. show that at least 34 babies were born alive in botched abortions between 2020 and 2022, Life News reported on Thursday.

The pro-life outlet looked at data from Arizona, Florida, Minnesota, Texas, Arkansas, Oklahoma, and Michigan, though it noted that “most states do not keep track of the number of babies who survive abortions…”

‘Smallville’ Actress Says She Got Involved With NXIVM Sex Cult To Revive Her Hollywood Career, Friends Say She Was ‘Brainwashed’

A former “Smallville” actress claimed that she got involved with the NXIVM sex cult to revive her Hollywood career.

Actress Allison Mack divulged her intentions for joining the NXIVM sex cult and pleaded innocence. She also spoke about going to the NXIVM headquarters in Albany, New York. Mack believed that NXIVM co-founder Keith Raniere could revive her Hollywood career.

“I moved to Albany to fill that emptiness and find the soul of myself again, if that makes sense, as it had fizzled,” Mack said, according to Page Six. “I asked Keith if he would help me become a great actress again because I felt like I was a fraud.” . . .

Mack confessed that friends advised her to leave NXIVM because they viewed it as a cult. Mack, 49, said her friends told her that she was “brainwashed” and “sick.”

Daughter of Hall of Fame Pitcher Accused of Giving Birth in the Woods on Christmas and Then Abandoning Her Baby in the Freezing Cold

Alexandra Eckersley, the 26-year-old adopted daughter of MLB Hall of Fame pitcher Dennis Eckersley, has been accused of giving birth in a wooded area of New Hampshire and then abandoning her newborn baby in freezing cold temperatures.

Just after midnight on December 26, police in Manchester, New Hampshire, received a call from a woman later identified as Eckersley. Initially, Eckersley told officers that she had given birth on an area soccer field, a police report states. As temperatures had already dipped below 20 degrees Fahrenheit, Manchester police, fire, and American medical response quickly sprang into action to find Eckersley’s baby boy.

However, after searching unsuccessfully for more than an hour, police said that Eckersley eventually changed her story and redirected rescue teams to the child’s correct location: a squalid, makeshift tent in the woods behind the West Side Ice Arena. When they found the boy, they claimed he was “moving, not crying, and exposed.” Some reports indicate that the boy was found naked in a bloody area of the tent and that the lone propane heater inside the tent had been turned off.

The baby — who, at the time of his rescue, reportedly weighed about 4 lbs — was treated by EMTs at the scene then taken to Catholic Medical Center in Manchester before he was airlifted to Dartmouth-Hitchcock Medical Center in Lebanon, approximately 75 miles north. Reports indicate that the baby was intubated, though, thankfully, his condition also appears to be improving. Governor’s Office Investigating ‘Drag Queen Christmas’ Show for Possibly Exposing Children to Sexually Explicit Themes

A spokesperson for Republican Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis said his office was investigating a “Drag Queen Christmas” show for possible violations of the state’s laws against exposing children to sexually explicit themes.

The Christmas drag show was held on Monday at the Broward Center of the Performing Arts in Ft. Lauderdale, Florida. Chris Nelson, a local activist, recorded a video at the event where he claimed several young children were present.

Nelson left the event after interrupting with a protest against the presence of children at the drag show. He was escorted off of the premises by Broward Sheriff’s deputies.

On Tuesday, DeSantis spokesperson Bryan Griffin said the event would be investigated for possible legal violations.

“The Department of Business and Professional Regulation (DBPR) is aware of multiple complaints about a sexually explicit performance marketed to children held in Fort Lauderdale on December 26th,” Griffin wrote in the statement.

Heart Failure Kills ‘Body Positivity’ Activist at 37 (VIDEO)

Jamie Lopez, the founder of a Las Vegas salon for plus-size women and a model for the “body positivity” movement, died last weekend at age 37.

Lopez, according to TMZ on Monday, was hospitalized for heart complications. Her salon, Babydoll Beauty Couture, which became the center of a reality television show on WE tv, published a statement on Instagram announcing her death.

“We ask, on behalf of the Babydoll family, that you allow us time to process this tremendous loss,” the statement read. “Please keep our Babydoll family & team lifted in your hearts and prayers.”

Her show, “Super Sized Salon,” which launched this summer, only lasted a single season before the main star’s death.

At her heaviest, Lopez weighed 846 pounds and designed her company while confined to bed. She lost 400 pounds to turn her dream into reality.
