Jan 6 Committee Member Admits Star Witness’ Evidence Is Hearsay

The January 6 Committee unveiled its surprise star witness on Tuesday — Cassidy Hutchinson, a former aide to then-White House Chief of Staff Mark Meadows — yet committee member Rep. Jaime Raskin (D-MD) admitted that her testimony was only hearsay.

Hutchinson testified before the committee that Secret Service agent Anthony Ornato told her that on January 6, 2021, then-President Donald Trump attempted to grab the steering wheel of the presidential limo “The Beast” and commandeer the vehicle to the U.S. Capitol to join protesters upset about the 2020 presidential election results. She added that the president was rebuffed by the head of Trump’s Secret Service detail, Robert Engel, who grabbed the president’s wrist. She then claimed that Ornato told her that Trump reached for Engel’s clavicle with his free hand.

While told vividly, the story seemed to lack any hard evidence and was only a second-hand account. CNN’s Jake Tapper pressed Raskin on that point Tuesday evening and asked for any subsequent corroboration from previous testimony.

“She did not see it happen,” Tapper said to Raskin Tuesday evening. “Do you have any corroborating evidence? You have interviewed both Ornato, or the committee has interviewed both Engle and Ornato, two Secret Service agents. Do you have any corroborating evidence that that story is true or do you only have it from Cassidy Hutchinson?”

Raskin could not provide any solid proof besides implying that it sounded true. (Read more from “Jan 6 Committee Member Admits Star Witness’ Evidence Is Hearsay” HERE)

Joe Rogan is a fan of Ron DeSantis and thinks the Florida governor would make a good president.

The podcast giant shared his thoughts on 2024 with actress Gina Carano on Tuesday’s episode of “The Joe Rogan Experience.”

“So all this stuff is happening while we have a dead man as a president,” Rogan said, deriding President Joe Biden.

“Are you throwing out any support towards anyone or are you gonna hold off?” Carano asked about the impending 2024 presidential election. “Didn’t Elon Musk come out recently for DeSantis?” . . .

“I think Ron DeSantis would work as a good president,” Rogan told Carano. “I mean, what he’s done for Florida has been admirable.” (Read more from “Joe Rogan Reveals Which Republican He Thinks Would Be a ‘Good President’ in 2024” HERE)

Barr: Public Schools Are Now So Hostile to Christians, They’re Unconstitutional

The West is facing its deepest civilizational crisis since Jesus Christ resurrected, and addressing the crisis requires removing militant secularists’ monopoly on education, former U.S. attorney general William Barr told a packed Christian conference in Chicago, Ill. on Saturday.

“We are going through a fateful crisis in western civilization. This is the deepest crisis we’ve faced in my mind since Christ,” Barr said. “That’s because our whole civilization is based on the Judeo-Christian tradition and that tradition is under sustained attack by increasingly militant secular forces.”

In a reprise of a 2019 speech at Notre Dame University that met massive corporate media backlash, Barr told the audience U.S. public schools have become hostile to traditional religion while wresting control of American children’s upbringing from their parents. This is a threat to the entire Western order, Barr said, because the unique American system of self-government cannot exist without a citizenry that is committed to traditional religion.

That’s because there are only two ways to restrain people from following disordered passions, Barr said: internal restraints, which are largely provided by one’s beliefs; and external restraints, which are typically provided by government. So in order to have a limited government, Barr noted in an explicit echo of the American Founders, citizens must practice self-restraint.

Such self-restraint is primarily developed through religious devotion, he said. But religious observance, the keystone of ordered liberty in the West, has been under systematic assault by anti-religious forces Barr called an “atheocracy,” his amalgam of the words “atheist theocracy.” These anti-religious forces now control the minds of American kids due to their monopoly on U.S. education institutions. Biden Admin Super-Charged Military Recruitment Crisis With ‘Woke Policies’

The U.S. military under a Biden Pentagon has sacrificed meritocracy for wokeness in recent years, sending a message that discourages new applicants and worsens the recruiting crisis, an expert told The Daily Caller News Foundation.

Military recruitment in 2022 has plummeted, NBC News reported, leaving the pentagon scrambling for ways to fill the ranks of U.S. forces. Alienation of traditional families, who constitute the military’s core recruiting market, through things like diversity quotas, refusing religious exemptions and teaching critical race theory at military institutions have all contributed to a growing unwillingness to enlist, according to Center for Military Readiness President Elaine Donnelly.

The result, she said, is a loss of prestige and meritocracy in the armed forces.

“The culture of the military has been eroded by several years of social engineering and woke policies. It’s been accelerated by the current administration,” Donnelly, who has been studying social issues in the military for over 30 years, told TheDCNF.

The Biden administration’s emphasis on “woke” ideas “sends a poor message” that discourages parents and other influencers from supporting careers the all-volunteer force, according to Donnelly. (Read more from “Biden Admin Super-Charged Military Recruitment Crisis With ‘Woke Policies'” HERE)

Ghislaine Maxwell Sentenced for Sex Crimes; Victims Say Her Apology ‘Doesn’t Cut It’

Ghislaine Maxwell Sentenced to 20 Years in Prison for Sex Trafficking Minor Girls for Jeffrey Epstein

By CNN. Ghislaine Maxwell was sentenced to 20 years in federal prison Tuesday for carrying out a years-long scheme with her longtime confidante Jeffrey Epstein to groom and sexually abuse underage girls.

Maxwell, 60, did not testify in her defense during the trial late last year, which ended with her conviction on five counts, including sex trafficking of a minor. But on Tuesday she spoke in court to the victims shortly before the sentence was handed down.

“Jeffrey Epstein should have been here before all of you,” Maxwell said at the podium, her legs shackled. “It is not about Epstein, ultimately. It is for me to be sentenced.”

Maxwell, Epstein’s former girlfriend, acknowledged that she had been convicted in the sex trafficking scheme but stopped short of taking responsibility. (Read more from “Ghislaine Maxwell Sentenced to 20 Years in Prison for Sex Trafficking Minor Girls for Jeffrey Epstein” HERE)

Ghislaine Maxwell’s Victims Say Her Apology ‘Doesn’t Cut It’ as She’s Sentenced to 20 Years for Sex Trafficking

By New York Post. Ghislaine Maxwell’s victims said the convicted sex trafficker’s apology “doesn’t cut it” — as her attorney pledged to appeal her 20-year sentence handed down Tuesday.

Maxwell, 60, had bashed her former partner-in-crime Jeffrey Epstein as “manipulative” ahead of her sentencing in Manhattan federal court, adding she hoped her “harsh incarceration” would bring the victims closure.

“I wish she was sorry when she was busy forcing me into a room to be raped. She should have been sorry then,” accuser Sarah Ramsome later told reporters outside of the courthouse.

“As a matter of fact, there shouldn’t even be an apology. Rape is rape.”

Ransome, 37, had given a tearful victim’s impact statement saying she endured years of mental anguish and twice tried to kill herself after months of abuse. (Read more from “Ghislaine Maxwell’s Victims Say Her Apology ‘Doesn’t Cut It’ as She’s Sentenced to 20 Years for Sex Trafficking” HERE)

Calls for Action as Biden Voicemail Reveals He Knew of Hunter’s China Deals

The stunning revelation of President Biden’s 2018 voicemail about Hunter Biden’s business dealings in China raises questions about the federal probe of the first son, legal experts said Tuesday — as Republican lawmakers vowed congressional hearings into the matter.

Former Justice Department prosecutor Jim Trusty called the situation “a huge integrity test” for the FBI and for Attorney General Merrick Garland.

“Will they walk away from powerful evidence? Will they come up with a soft plea — like a tax charge — that does not remotely capture the actual wrongdoing?” he said.

“Or will they treat Hunter Biden like any other white-collar defendant in the federal system?”

George Washington University law professor Jonathan Turley said the recording “only magnifies the concerns over the failure of Attorney General Merrick Garland to appoint a special counsel with broad investigative authority.” (Read more from “Calls for Action as Biden Voicemail Reveals He Knew of Hunter’s China Deals” HERE)

Shock Report: Key Secret Service Figure Prepared to Undercut Jan. 6 Witness Testimony

Two key figures from the Secret Service mentioned in the Jan. 6 committee hearing on Tuesday have already testified to investigators on the panel, but questions remain about what they have said behind closed doors.

Bobby Engel, who was head of former President Donald Trump’s security detail, and Tony Ornato, the White House deputy chief of staff for operations, previously spoke to the House select committee, NBC News reported.

Cassidy Hutchinson, who was an assistant to chief of staff Mark Meadows, testified on Tuesday in a public hearing that she heard from Ornato that Trump grabbed at the steering wheel and lunged at Engel when told on Jan. 6 after his speech on the Ellipse that they could not head to the Capitol.

When Ornato recounted the story, Hutchinson said Engel, who was in the room, did not dispute any of it. Trump reacted on Truth Social, calling it a “fake story.”

After the hearing, CNN’s Jake Tapper interviewed Rep. Jamie Raskin (D-MD), a member of the Jan. 6 committee, and also said that Engel and Ornato have been interviewed by the committee. Raskin said he was not involved in either interview and claimed he does not know if either one was asked about this incident. Biden’s HHS Unveils Website Directing Underage Women to Resources to Obtain an Abortion

Following the Supreme Court’s historic ruling overturning Roe v. Wade, the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services launched a website to direct Americans to abortion and contraceptive services, including for minors.

The HHS’ website, ReproductiveRights.gov, gives visitors insight on surgical and medication abortions. Now that the issue of abortion was returned to the states, the laws pertaining to abortion vary depending on where a woman seeking an abortion lives.

“Following the Supreme Court’s decision to overturn Roe v. Wade, access to abortion will depend on the state you live in even more than before,” the government website states. It then dives into the different types of abortion and how to obtain each kind.

“Medication abortion has been approved by the FDA since 2000 as a safe and effective option. Federal regulation permits medication abortion to be dispensed by telehealth and sent by mail via certified prescribers and pharmacies, in addition to in-person dispensing in clinics, medical offices, and hospitals,” the website states, and directs visitors to utilize the website AbortionFinder.org.

AbortionFinder.org helps women, including those 15 and younger, locate an abortion provider close to where they live. In addition, it helps women determine if they should obtain abortion pills via “telehealth,” meaning the patient does not meet with a doctor in-person to obtain or administer the pills. FAKE NEWS: Donald Trump Denies Allegations He Threw Food at White House Wall

Former President Donald Trump on Tuesday denied Cassidy Hutchinson’s allegations that he threw food in the White House’s dining room in response to an interview that former Attorney General Bill Barr conducted with the Associated Press.

Trump said after hearing the allegations:

I hardly know who this person, Cassidy Hutchinson, is, other than I heard very negative things about her (a total phony and “leaker”), and when she requested to go with certain others of the team to Florida after my having served a full term in office, I personally turned her request down. Why did she want to go with us if she felt we were so terrible?

“I understand that she was very upset and angry that I didn’t want her to go, or be a member of the team. She is bad news!” he said.

Hutchinson, a former aide to former White House chief of staff Mark Meadows claimed at Tuesday’s January 6 committee hearing on Tuesday that Trump threw food at a wall because he was angry with Bill Barr’s reaction to election fraud allegations.
