GOP Governor Says He Won’t Support Trump in 2024

[RINO] Arkansas Gov. Asa Hutchinson said Friday he will not support former President Donald Trump if he decides to run again in 2024 due to the January 6, 2021, Capitol riot.

Hutchinson said the former president’s attempt to overthrow the results of the 2020 presidential election was a “threat to our democracy” and “institutions of government.” However, he does not believe the January 6 committee has made a criminal conduct case against Trump.

“That’s not the kind of behavior we want to see in a responsible president,” he told the CBS Mornings co-hosts.

CBS News senior White House and political correspondent Ed O’Keefe asked Hutchinson to clarify if he agrees with Republican Wyoming Rep. Liz Cheney that Trump is a “danger to the nation.”

“Everybody phrases it in a different way, I would not be supporting him for 2024,” he added. “He acted irresponsibly during that time. Was he a risk to the nation? Absolutely.” (Read more from “GOP Governor Says He Won’t Support Trump in 2024” HERE)

The Jan. 6 Committee Is Causing Never Trumpers to Lose Their Minds

Something is very wrong with the supposedly right-of-center media outlets and commentators treating the Jan. 6 committee like something other than the appalling Stalinesque show-trial that it is. In particular, the Washington Examiner and National Review both ran embarrassing, delusional op-eds about the hearings this week. The Examiner even ran an editorial declaring, “Trump proven unfit for power again.”

Why is Trump “unfit for power”? Because of former Trump White House aide Cassidy Hutchinson’s testimony on Tuesday. It was hailed by the corporate press as “explosive” and “damning,” featured on the front pages of the New York Times and the Washington Post, and replayed ad nauseum on all the cable news shows.

Before we get to the Examiner and National Review, we need to talk about the Hutchinson testimony. Hutchinson, who was billed as a star witness for the committee, did indeed make a number of explosive claims on Tuesday. The problem is that she didn’t actually witness anything. Her hearsay claims were blown to pieces almost as soon as they appeared, in some cases because people with firsthand knowledge immediately came forward to dispute them, and in other cases because the claims themselves were ridiculous on their face.

Perhaps the most outrageous accusation from Hutchinson was that on Jan. 6 an enraged President Trump tried to grab the steering wheel of his presidential vehicle and lunged at his security detail when he was told he could not join the protesters marching from the White House to the U.S. Capitol after his rally.

Voters Are Frustrated with Biden’s Ongoing Border Crisis

. . .A poll conducted by Rasmussen Reports found that 73 percent of Americans consider immigration a critical issue for the U.S.

Fifty-two percent of voters believe the problem of illegal immigration is getting worse by the day.

They’re not wrong. Since the beginning of 2021, the number of illegal aliens crossing the border has increased tremendously, reaching over 200,000 encounters per month on several different occasions, according to the Washington Examiner.

Sixty-seven percent of respondents said that Biden has done a “poor” job of handling the immigration issue, citing that they don’t believe it will be better any time soon.

Quarter of Voters Getting Ready to Take up Arms Against the Government; Majority Say its Rigged and Corrupt

More than one in four Americans have so much disdain for the government that they believe it may be necessary “at some point soon for citizens to take up arms against the government,” according to a new poll from the University of Chicago’s Institute of Politics.

Just days before Independence Day, the poll shows that 28% of voters hold such a belief, including one in three Republicans, roughly one in three independents and one in five Democrats.

A majority of Americans also said the government is “corrupt and rigged against everyday people like me,” including two-thirds of Republicans and independents, and about half of Democrats. Biden to Award Highest Civilian Honor to…First COVID Vaccine Recipient?

Ahead of the long Independence Day weekend, the White House announced a new round of Medal of Freedom recipients — the nation’s highest civilian honor — citing President Joe Biden’s belief in the “possibilities” of America. The recipients — 17 total — will be awarded on July 7th in a ceremony at the White House.

In addition to decorated veterans and leaders from Democrat special interest groups, there are a few eyebrow-raising selections. John McCain, a close friend of Biden’s during their time together in the U.S. Senate seems like an obvious choice, as does Gabrielle Giffords, the former congresswoman who was shot while hosting a constituent event in her district. Steve Jobs, Simone Biles, and Denzel Washington round out the star power of Biden’s list, and the inclusion of civil rights, labor union, and social justice leaders makes sense for a Democrat administration.

But then there’s Sandra Lindsay, a critical care nurse from New York City — a jurisdiction where Democrat leaders botched their response to COVID and made the situation for frontline health care workers even worse. As the White House release explains, Lindsay “was the first American to receive a COVID-19 vaccine outside of clinical trials.”

Where’s the medal of freedom for those who stood up to the Biden administration’s unconstitutional vaccine mandate? You know, real *freedom* fighters. What about a border agent that’s dealing with an unprecedented assault on the U.S.-Mexico border by illegal immigrants, drugs, and weapons? By Fortune. Americans will endure high gas prices “as long as it takes” to quell Russian President Vladimir Putin’s Ukraine invasion, U.S. President Joe Biden said Thursday.

Did he check with Americans before saying that?

A reporter at a NATO summit press conference in Madrid asked Biden how long it’s fair “to expect American drivers and drivers around the world to pay that premium for this war,” referencing Ukraine.

“As long as it takes, so Russia cannot, in fact, defeat Ukraine and move beyond Ukraine,” Biden said.

National average gas prices have topped $5 a gallon this month—a new record, despite Biden’s historically large release of national reserves earlier this year. Biden has called on Congress to suspend the federal gas tax for three months to help alleviate the economic burden to consumers, but has encountered resistance from his own party. WH: Put Up With High Gas Prices for ‘the Future of the Liberal World Order’

Thursday, during an appearance on CNN’s “Newsroom,” National Economic Council Director Brian Deese defended President Joe Biden’s remarks earlier in the day, claiming Americans may have to deal with higher prices as the world grapples with an aggressive Russian President Vladimir Putin setting his sights on Ukraine.

Deese called Biden’s remarks a claim about what was at stake, which he called the “future of the liberal world order.”

“What you heard from the president today was about the stakes,” he said. “This is about the future of the liberal world order, and we have to stand firm. But at the same time, what I’d say to that family, to Americans across the country is, you have a present administration that is going to do everything in its power to blunt those price increases and bring those prices down. Trump Accuses Ex-Aide of ‘Living in a Fantasy Land’ After Jan. 6 Testimony

Former President Donald Trump ripped into Cassidy Hutchinson, the one-time White House aide who dropped several bombshell revelations at a House hearing this week — deriding her as a “social climber,” claiming she was “living in a fantasy land” and discounting her allegation that he lunged at a Secret Service agent on Jan. 6, 2021.

The 45th president laughed off the suggestion by Hutchinson that he tried to overpower his protective detail and drive the presidential SUV to the Capitol, saying during a Thursday interview with News​m​ax that “these guys lift 350 pounds, I don’t.”

“The woman is living in a fantasy land,” he said of Hutchinson, a former top aide to ex-White House chief of staff Mark Meadows.

“She’s a social climber, if you call that social,” he continued. “I think it’s just a shame that this is happening to this country, and we don’t have any Republicans up there to dispute it.”

Biden Doesn’t Even Know Which Country He’s Talking About in Latest Gaffe

. . .President Biden announced Thursday that he had called the leader of Switzerland to discuss abandoning two centuries of neutrality to join NATO — before quickly correcting himself to say he actually meant Sweden.

“Some of the American press will remember when I got a phone call from the leader of Finland saying could he come and see me, then he came the next day and said, ‘Will you support my joining — my country joining NATO?’ We got the telephone. He suggested we call the leader of Switzerland,” Biden said.

The president immediately fixed his mistake, adding, “Switzerland, my goodness, I’m getting really anxious here about expanding NATO — of Sweden.”

Biden was speaking at a press conference in Madrid following a NATO summit at which Finland and Sweden were officially invited to join the military alliance in response to the more than four-month-old Russian invasion of Ukraine.

Supreme Court Vacates Ruling Upholding California’s Large-Capacity Gun Magazine Ban

The U.S. Supreme Court on Thursday vacated a ruling in a San Diego case that upheld California’s ban on gun magazines that hold more than 10 bullets and sent it back to a lower court to reconsider following the high court’s major decision in a gun case last week.

The Supreme Court also ordered similar fresh looks on other gun restrictions in Hawaii, New Jersey and Maryland.

In light of last week’s ruling — which said that Americans have a right to carry a gun outside the home — the Supreme Court said lower courts should take another look at several cases that had been awaiting action by the high court. Those cases include one about a Maryland assault weapons ban and another regarding a Hawaii law that limits who can carry a gun outside the home. Poll: Most Hispanic Voters Support Trump’s ‘Title 42’ Border Policy

A majority of Hispanic voters support former President Donald Trump’s Title 42 immigration policy that makes it easier for the federal government to deport border crossers and illegal aliens, according to an Axios-Ipsos poll released Thursday.

Axios found that 51 percent of Hispanic Americans support keeping Title 42 in place. On the other hand, just 44 percent are opposed to the policy.

“I think because it’s a COVID mitigation thing, we do see sort of higher support for it, than if it were just sort of a pure immigration concern,” Ipsos pollster and senior vice president Chris Jackson told Axios. Jackson was reportedly “surprised” that most Hispanics supported Title 42.

These poll numbers come as President Joe Biden’s administration is in a legal dispute over the pandemic-era immigration policy. After Biden announced the program would end in May, 21 states sued the Centers for Disease Control (CDC), alleging Biden unlawfully terminated the program.
