Trump Reveals the First Thing He Would Do if He Became President Again

In an interview last week, former President Donald Trump said that the first executive action he would take if he were president again would be to complete the wall at the southern border.

A report from the The Epoch Times noted that the former president made the remark on EpochTV’s “Kash’s Corner” on Jan. 31. The interview will air in its entirety this week. When asked what he would do if he took office again, Trump said that he would follow through with completing the border wall because it would enhance the nation’s security as well as send an image of strength to other world leaders, such as China’s Xi Jinping.

“First of all, the wall, even for him [Xi Jinping]” Trump answered. “You know why? Because when he sees millions of people pouring into our country, he loses respect for our country.”

“When him and Putin and Kim Jong Un and Iran’s leaders, when they’re watching millions of people walk into our country…they lose respect,” he added. (Read more from “Trump Reveals the First Thing He Would Do if He Became President Again” HERE)

Ill Effects of Lockdowns Are Far Greater Than Any Benefits

A new study from Johns Hopkins University’s Institute for Applied Economics supports what I and others have long maintained: Lockdowns do not work, and their economic, social, educational and psychological costs far outweigh any health benefits they might bring.

Early in the pandemic, epidemiological modelers predicted catastrophic casualties that could be averted only with stringent lockdown measures. In response, nearly every country around the world imposed lockdown measures by the end of March 2020. Yet little evidence existed to support such actions, and the modeling studies were fatally flawed.

Now the Hopkins literature review and meta-analysis, by professors Jonas Herby, Lars Jonung and Steve Hanke, finds that lockdowns — “defined as the imposition of at least one compulsory, nonpharmaceutical intervention (NPI)” such as school and business closures and limitations on movement and travel — “had little to no effect on COVID-19 mortality.” . . .

The authors reviewed thousands of studies and culled 34 that had reliable and sufficiently relevant data to review. The results were mixed: Several studies found no statistically significant effect of lockdowns on mortality; other studies found a significant negative relationship between lockdowns and mortality; and others found a significant positive relationship between lockdowns and mortality — i.e., that lockdowns actually increased COVID-19 deaths from COVID-19.

When the authors performed a meta-analysis — a statistical technique that combines the results of multiple studies addressing the same question and uses the pooled data to draw conclusions — they found that lockdowns failed to show a large significant effect on COVID-19 mortality: “the effect is little to none.” (Read more from “Ill Effects of Lockdowns Are Far Greater Than Any Benefits” HERE)

The Biden Administration Is Preparing to Regulate Bitcoin

The Biden administration is preparing to draft Bitcoin and other cryptocurrency regulations.

“The Biden administration is preparing to release an initial government-wide strategy for digital assets as soon as next month and task federal agencies with assessing the risks and opportunities that they pose,” Bloomberg reported.

President Joe Biden’s approach could potentially enable the entirety of the federal government’s administrative apparatus to regulate cryptocurrency under the guise of national security.

Bloomberg said, “The late-stage draft of the executive order details economic, regulatory and national security challenges posed by cryptocurrencies. Meanwhile, the directive would also require other agencies to weigh in — carving out roles for everyone from the State Department to the Commerce Department.”

Globally, there are hundreds of millions of people who use cryptocurrency to store and grow their wealth and to make transactions. Largely, the appeal of cryptocurrency is that it is unregulated and not connected to global financial institutions. There are trillions of dollars invested in cryptocurrencies; this asset class was able to grow so rapidly and robustly precisely because there was minimal regulation restricting its growth and use. University Calls Criticism of China’s Human Rights Abuses Racist

George Washington University (GWU) President Mark Wrighton apologized Monday for an earlier email he sent calling anti-China artwork offensive and vowing to remove the art from campus.

Wrighton initially said he was “personally offended” by posters showing the art, which criticizes China, and he said he was working to have the posters removed and find the person responsible for posting them.

“I treasure the opportunity to work with talented people from all over the world, including China,” Wrighton’s initial email read, according to Badiucao, the artist who designed the posters. “I, too, am saddened by this terrible event and we will undertake an effort to determine who is responsible.”

The posters in question showed Badiucao’s Olympics-themed artwork, which features a snowboarder riding a surveillance camera, an Olympic shooter pointing his rifle at a blindfolded Uyghur Muslim and a curler sliding an animated coronavirus particle.

The school’s Chinese Students and Scholars Association sent out an email claiming the posters had “serious racist views” and carried out “extremely vicious personal attacks on all international students from China and Asian groups,” according to screenshots shared by Badiucao. The email also urged the school to “punish” those who hung up the posters “severely.” (Read more from “University Calls Criticism of China’s Human Rights Abuses Racist” HERE)

Navy SEAL Candidate Killed During ‘Hell Week’ ID’d

A Navy SEAL candidate who died during “Hell Week” training over the weekend was identified Sunday as 24-year-old Kyle Mullen of Manalapan, NJ.

Mullen died during an underwater demolition class near San Diego, Calif., on Friday. Another candidate for the elite military squad was hospitalized during the training exercise, according to a report by USA Today.

“Great athlete but a better person,” said Ed Guerreri, the football coach at Manalapan High School where Mullen played, to the outlet.

“Everybody loved him,” Guerreri said. “Probably one of the best kids I ever had. Great, great kid on the field but even better off the field.”

The coach said his players will now wear a No. 44 patch — Mullen’s old number — on their uniforms at the Monmouth County school. (Read more from “Navy SEAL Candidate Killed During ‘Hell Week’ ID’d” HERE)

BLM Founder Sentenced to 6 Years for Illegally Voting

The founder of the Black Lives Matter chapter in Memphis has been sentenced to prison for six years for illegally registering to vote in Tennessee, prosecutors said.

Pamela Moses, the 44-year-old activist, was ordered to spend six years and one day behind bars Monday for registering to vote despite felony convictions in 2015 that made her ineligible to do so, Shelby County District Attorney General. Amy Weirich said.

In handing down the sentence, Judge Michael Ward accused her of deceiving the probation department to obtain the right to vote,

“You tricked the probation department into giving you documents saying you were off probation,” Ward said in court, the Washington Post reported.

In 2015, Moses pleaded guilty to tampering with evidence and forgery, both felonies, and to misdemeanor charges of perjury, stalking, theft under $500, and escape. (Read more from “BLM Founder Sentenced to 6 Years for Illegally Voting” HERE)

Biden Crime Crisis: Killings of Police Explode, Hit All-Time High

An FBI database of police officers killed in the line of duty shows that more have died since Joe Biden became president than deaths dating back to 1995.

“We believe it’s a combination … of the George Floyd protests — riots, if you will; a general feeling of a preference for less law enforcement; and less prosecution and less policing,” Jason Johnson, president of the Law Enforcement Legal Defense Fund (LELDF) and a 20-year police veteran, said in a Fox News report.

“Law enforcement officers have essentially been marginalized and demoralized and cast aside and encouraged now to enforce the law,” Johnson said. “And so we’ve seen massive jumps in the homicide rate in cities across America.”

Johnson said rising homicide rates in major U.S. cities have “also resulted in many more officers being assaulted because … a lot of leaders in these cities and leaders in Congress and leaders in the White House have really voiced a lack of respect for law enforcement officers.” . . .

Ambush attacks against officers were also up in 2021, with LEOKA data showing that 32 officers were killed in an ambush or unprovoked attack in 2021, exceeding previous records dating back to at least 1987, according to the Heartland Institute’s report. Company Sues Man on Life Support With COVID in Order to Recoup Loan

A Bronx landlord who’s clinging to life thanks to COVID-19 was slapped with two lawsuits over a $23,000 high-interest loan he was forced to take out during the pandemic-related rent moratorium, according to a new lawsuit.

The lending company Premier Capital Funding LLC is hunting down Jeffrey Schneider — who is on life support — to repay $58,000 for the loan he took out in May through his company Remie Realty Corp., according to court papers filed by Schneider’s wife.

Schneider, the landlord of a rent-controlled building in the Bronx, sought the $23,000 life line when his struggling tenants stopped paying rent, the court filing says.

He managed to pay back $25,000 of the roughly $35,000 total he owed on the high-interest loan before coronavirus all but killed him.

“This debt that started out with the merchant [Remie] receiving $23,000 has now exploded into an $85,000 debt,” Schneider family lawyer Ashlee Colonna Cohen told The Post. “He’s already paid $25,000 of it and they are still asking for more.” (Read more from “Company Sues Man on Life Support With COVID in Order to Recoup Loan” HERE)

Rogan on Ropes: Joe Apologizes After N-Word Compilation Goes Viral

Famed podcaster Joe Rogan has apologized for using the N-word during past podcast episodes after a compilation of him using the word surfaced on the Internet amid calls to cancel him from Spotify.

Rogan explained that while he never used the word directed at anybody, “whenever you’re in a situation where you have to say, ‘I’m not racist,’ you fucked up. And I clearly have f**ked up.”

The comedian and UFC commentator has been under attack for hosting two guests — Dr. Peter McCullough and Dr. Robert Malone — on his podcast, who “have an opinion that’s different from the mainstream narrative” regarding coronavirus-related issues,” he said.

In an attempt to quell the concerns of those calling for his cancellation, Rogan suggested that he host experts with the same opinions as the mainstream narrative right after hosting the “controversial” guests — and add a “content advisory” to his episodes.

But the cancel campaign doesn’t seem interested in Rogan’s suggestion of hosting a variety of guests with different viewpoints, as it is still baying for his blood. (Read more from “Rogan on Ropes: Joe Apologizes After N-Word Compilation Goes Viral” HERE)

SEALS, Others Punished by U.S. Navy in Violation of Court Order, Lawyers Say

Military officials with the U.S. Navy are punishing Navy SEALs and other Naval service members for seeking religious exemptions to a COVID-19 vaccine mandate in violation of a court order, according to attorneys for the service members.

Attorneys for First Liberty Institute filed a motion Monday requesting a federal court to set a hearing and order the U.S. Navy to show why it should not be in held in contempt of the court.

In early January, U.S. District Judge Reed O’Connor of the Northern District of Texas signed an injunction order after hearing testimony from several Navy SEALs and other Navy service members in December as part of the group’s lawsuit. The lawsuit included 35 Navy SEALs and Naval service members.

The suit is against President Joe Biden, the Department of Defense, Secretary of Defense Lloyd Austin and Secretary of the Navy Carlos Del Toro. (Read more from “SEALs, Others Punished by U.S. Navy in Violation of Court Order, Lawyers Say” HERE)
