LOL: Democrats Blasted for Bragging Biden Made Gas 2 Cents Cheaper

The Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee (DCCC) faced widespread backlash on Thursday afternoon for bragging that President Joe Biden had caused gas prices to drop by 2 cents per gallon, a claim that may not even be accurate given that oil prices plummeted in response to the Omicron variant of the coronavirus.

The DCCC tweeted out a graph, which featured half-cent increments, that showed that gas had barely dipped in price, writing: “Thanks, @JoeBiden.”

The Washington Post ripped the tweet as potentially being “the worst defense of the Biden administration yet,” noting that “since Biden took office, the price of gas has risen more than a dollar on this same measure.” . . .

Rep. Lee Zeldin (R-NY): “Gas prices are up more than 50% since Dec 2020 and Dems are demanding you thank them. Here’s TWO CENTS: After you delete your tweet, restart Keystone, start tapping more into our own domestic energy supply, and stop fast-tracking foreign pipelines abroad.” (Read more from “LOL: Democrats Blasted for Bragging Biden Made Gas 2 Cents Cheaper” HERE)

Kyle Rittenhouse Details Critical Moments of Trial

Speaking to conservative podcast host Charlie Kirk, Kyle Rittenhouse detailed this week what he thought were the two critical points in his trial that showed him favorability, and he revealed that the state had “no case” against him — and both points hit very early in the trial.

“At what point in the trial were you like, okay this is going in a direction that is somewhat favorable,” Kirk asked Rittenhouse.

“There were two, actually, from when I knew the state didn’t have a case,” the teenager explained.

“It’s when they had their opening statements and when they put Dominick Black (Rittenhouse’s friend) on the stand, which really helped me. That’s when I knew that they didn’t have a case.” . . .

“Yeah,” Rittenhouse said, explaining the prosecution claiming that the teenager “chased down” Joseph Rosenbaum, “which is not true.” (Read more from “Kyle Rittenhouse Details Critical Moments of Trial” HERE)

It Looks Like Government Will Be Funded After All: Congress Averts Shutdown by Passing Continuing Resolution

While there was talk of a government shutdown, and “#ShutItDown” was even trending on Twitter for a time, Congress averted a shutdown on Thursday evening when both the House and the Senate passed legislation to fund the government through February 18 with a continuing resolution (CR). Late on Thursday evening, the Senate voted 69-28.

The CR passed the House earlier in the evening 221-212, with Rep. Adam Kinzinger (IL) being the only Republican to vote with Democrats. Some Republicans, like Rep. Chip Roy (TX), wanted to tie funding the government to President Joe Biden’s vaccine mandate.

Its fate was less certain in the Senate, though, again, due to vaccine mandates. An agreement was reached, though, when the Senate agreed to vote on an amendment from Sens. Mike Lee (R-UT) and Roger Marshall (R-KS) to defund Biden’s vaccine mandate and testing requirements, with only a simple majority.

A Wednesday morning edition of POLITICO Playbook included a statement from Sen. Lee. “I’m sure we would all like to simplify the process for resolving the CR, but I can’t facilitate that without addressing the vaccine mandates,” he said. “Given that federal courts across the country have raised serious issues with these mandates, it’s not unreasonable for my Democratic colleagues to delay enforcement of the mandates for at least the length of the continuing resolution.”

Omicron Hits New York City

Five cases of the COVID-19 omicron variant have been detected in the New York City area, Mayor Bill de Blasio and Gov. Kathy Hochul announced Thursday evening.

Hochul said they account for the only five known cases in teh state thus far and include one in Brooklyn, two in Queens and one in Long Island’s Suffolk County. A fifth was pegged to “New York City” by the officials but without a more precise location.

The Long Island patient, a 67-year-old woman, had recently returned from South Africa, Hochul said. She tested positive on Nov. 30, according to the governor.

Federal officials restricted travel to the US from eight nations in southern Africa after cases of the variant were reported in South Africa and Botswana. (Read more from “Omicron Hits New York” HERE)

Public Display of Deflection: Is Anyone Buying This Ridiculous Kamala and Pete Show?

Did you see that hug between Wonder Boy President in Waiting Pete Buttigieg and Back Off Little Man I’m Boss Lady of This House Kamala Harris? I’ve seen leprous porcupines get closer together for a hug. Harris and Buttigieg could have danced like that at a Catholic high school in 1957 and the chaperone would have said, “I’ll allow it. If anything, there’s room for two Holy Spirits in between.”

H and B managed to hug while looking like they wished they were in two different time zones, just as their political fortunes are going in completely different directions: Buttigieg is maybe even a little ahead of schedule in the ruthless mega-map to the presidency he probably devised when he was drinking chocolate milk in kindergarten eight or nine years ago, while Harris is looking like the first sitting vice president who will ever cackle her way to political oblivion.

What was the purpose of this little awkward-as-small-town-community-theater scene? Well, Madame Vice and the Transportation Kid were out to display to the public the fact that they totally aren’t fighting even though every other day a leak appears in the Swamptown Gazette about how Democrats are scrambling to offload her somewhere before she becomes their next presidential nominee. Don’t be surprised if she is sent on an urgent diplomatic fact-finding mission to, say, Jupiter.

Meanwhile, Team Buttigieg is playing him up as the logical heir to the Biden throne. What if, they ask, you had a presidential candidate who was actually a bright, smooth talker, with many coats of slick Harvard management consultant polish instead of a habit of breaking down into deranged laughter whenever he gets a tough question? Wouldn’t First Gay President be almost as exciting as having a woman in the top job? America may be ready for a woman president, but not this extremely odd woman in the dung-colored pantsuits. US Identifies First Case of Omicron Variant; Patient Was Fully Vaccinated

By The Blaze. The very first case of the newly identified COVID-19 Omicron variant has been detected in California, the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention announced on Wednesday.

In a news release, the public health agency said the new variant was detected in a fully vaccinated American traveler who returned from South Africa on Nov. 22.

“The individual, who was fully vaccinated and had mild symptoms that are improving, is self-quarantining and has been since testing positive,” the CDC noted, adding, “All close contacts have been contacted and have tested negative.” . . .

During a press briefing, White House chief medical advisor Dr. Anthony Fauci told reporters that the individual, who has not been identified, tested positive for the variant on Nov. 29. He had reportedly not received a booster shot.

“The individual is self quarantining and all close contacts have been contacted and all close contacts, thus far, have tested negative,” Fauci added, according to CNBC. “We feel good that this patient not only had mild symptoms but actually the symptoms appear to be improving.” (Read more from “US Identifies First Case of Omicron Variant; Patient Was Fully Vaccinated” HERE)

First Omicron Case in U.S. Adds to Global Alarm Over Virus Variant

By Reuters. Fears over the impact of the Omicron variant of the coronavirus rose on Thursday after the first case was reported in the United States and the Japanese central bank warned of economic pain as countries respond with tighter containment measures.

The first known U.S. case was a fully vaccinated person in California who returned to the United States from South Africa on Nov. 22 and tested positive seven days later.

President Joe Biden is working on the U.S. strategy for fighting COVID-19 this winter and sources briefed on the matter told Reuters one step will be extending requirements for travelers to wear masks through mid-March. A formal announcement is expected on Thursday, the sources said.

The White House also plans to announce stricter testing rules for international visitors.

Airlines in the United States were told to hand over the names of passengers arriving from parts of southern Africa hit by Omicron, according to a U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention letter seen by Reuters. Dying COVID-19 Patient Recovers After Court Orders Hospital to Administer Ivermectin

An elderly COVID-19 patient has recovered after a court order allowed him to be treated with ivermectin, despite objections from the hospital in which he was staying, according to the family’s attorney

After an Illinois hospital insisted on administering expensive remdesivir to the patient and the treatment failed, his life was saved after a court ordered that an outside medical doctor be allowed to use the inexpensive ivermectin to treat him, over the hospital’s strenuous objections. . .

Sun Ng, 71, who was visiting the United States from Hong Kong to celebrate his granddaughter’s first birthday, became ill with COVID-19 and within days was close to death. He was hospitalized on Oct. 14 at Edward Hospital, in Naperville, Illinois, a part of the Edward-Elmhurst Health system. His condition worsened dramatically and he was intubated and placed on a ventilator a few days later.

Ng’s only child, Man Kwan Ng, who holds a doctoral degree in mechanical engineering, did her own research and decided that her father should take ivermectin, which some medical doctors believe is effective against COVID-19, despite the FDA’s guidance to the contrary.

But against the daughter’s wishes, the hospital refused to administer ivermectin and denied access to a physician willing to administer it. (Read more from “Dying COVID-19 Patient Recovers After Court Orders Hospital to Administer Ivermectin” HERE)

‘Tool to Enforce Orwellian Rules’: 80 House Republicans Help Pass Bill to Fund Federal Vaccination Database

Eighty House Republicans voted with Democrats on Tuesday to pass the Immunization Infrastructure Modernization Act, which if passed by the Senate and signed into law would fund a federal vaccination database.

According to the bill, also called H. R. 550, the government would provide $400 million in taxpayer dollars to fund “immunization system data modernization and expansion,” a system otherwise defined as “a confidential, population-based, computerized database that records immunization doses administered by any health care provider to persons within the geographic area covered by that database.”

The text specifically outlines an expansion of Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and Public Health Department capabilities and the ability for state and local health departments, as well as public and private health care providers, to share health data with the federal government.

In a statement, the bill’s main sponsor, Democrat Rep. Ann Kuster (NH), said the system would be used to “remind patients when they are due for a recommended vaccine” and identify areas with low vaccination rates to “ensure equitable distribution of vaccines.” Notably, the bill has four Republican co-sponsors: Reps. Larry Bucshon (R-IN), James Baird (R-IN), David McKinley (R-WV), and Brian Fitzpatrick (R-PA). Not one Democrat voted in opposition to the bill.

Rep. Mary Miller (R-IL), who was one of the 130 Republicans to vote “no,” told Breitbart News exclusively on Wednesday that the legislation would enable the federal government to “track” unvaccinated Americans who “will be targeted and forced to comply with Biden’s crazy ‘global vaccination’ vision.” (Read more from “‘Tool to Enforce Orwellian Rules’: 80 House Republicans Help Pass Bill to Fund Federal Vaccination Database” HERE)

Michigan School Shooting Suspect Charged With Terrorism, Murder; 4 Students Dead

Oakland County Prosecutor Karen McDonald announced that Ethan Crumbley, the 15-year-old suspect in the Michigan school shooting, will be charged as an adult with one count of terrorism causing death, four counts of first-degree murder, seven counts of assault with intent to murder, and 12 counts of possession of a firearm in the commission of a felony.

The suspect will be charged as an adult, McDonald said.

“There are crimes that the legislature said that are so serious, that a person who commits them can automatically be charged as an adult. First Degree Murder is the most serious of all those crimes. Second, there are facts leading up to the shooting that suggests this was not just an impulsive act,” McDonald said, who noted those facts “are not appropriate for discussion” at this time. . .

Four students died due to the shooting. Oakland County Sheriff Michael Bouchard identified three of the students on Tuesday as 16-year-old Tate Myre, 14-year-old Hana St. Juliana, and 17-year-old Madisyn Baldwin. . .

The fourth student died on Wednesday morning and was identified as 15-year-old Justin Shilling. McDonald clarified at the press conference that Shilling was 15, not 17 as previously reported. (Read more from “Michigan School Shooting Suspect Charged With Terrorism, Murder; 4 Students Dead” HERE)

Alec Baldwin Makes Bombshell Claim as Probe Into Deadly Set Shooting Heats Up

Alec Baldwin alleged that he did not pull the trigger on the gun that fired resulting in the death of cinematographer Halyna Hutchins in a preview for his upcoming televised interview on Thursday night.

It was announced on Wednesday that Baldwin will sit down for his first formal interview about the fatal shooting that took place on the set of the indie-western film “Rust.” In a preview for the tell-all, Baldwin addresses the fact that he was holding a gun that was somehow loaded with a live bullet that should not have been on the set at all, let alone in an actor’s hand.

During the preview, which is heavily edited for the purpose of teasing the larger interview that’s set to air Thursday evening, an emotional Baldwin states unequivocally that he did not pull the trigger.

“The trigger wasn’t pulled. I didn’t pull the trigger,” Baldwin with George Stephanopoulos. (Read more from “Alec Baldwin Makes Bombshell Claim as Probe Into Deadly Set Shooting Heats Up” HERE)
