By The Epoch Times. Guatemalan soldiers blocked part of a caravan of as many as 9,000 Honduran migrants on Jan. 16, at a point not far from where they entered the country seeking to reach the U.S. border.

The soldiers, many wearing helmets and wielding shields and sticks, formed ranks across a highway in Chiquimula, near the Honduras border, to block the procession of migrants.

Guatemala’s immigration agency distributed a video showing a couple of hundred men scuffling with soldiers, pushing and running through their lines, even as troops held hundreds more back.

Guatemalan President Alejandro Giammattei issued a statement calling on Honduran authorities “to contain the mass exit of its inhabitants.” On Jan. 15, the migrants entered Guatemala by pushing past about 2,000 police and soldiers posted at the border; most entered without showing the negative coronavirus test that Guatemala requires.

“The government of Guatemala regrets this violation of national sovereignty and calls on the governments of Central America to take measures to avoid putting their inhabitants at risk amid the health emergency due to the pandemic,” Giammattei said in the statement. Report: Biden Team To Migrant Caravan: Don’t Come, You Won’t Get in — Yet (VIDEO)

By Breitbart. NBC News reports that a senior Biden transition team member warned the newest caravan of Honduran migrants not to come to the U.S. at this time. The official reportedly advised that if they come they will not be allowed to enter the U.S. — for now.

“The situation at the border isn’t going to be transformed overnight,” the unnamed transition official told NBC News. “There’s help on the way, but now is not the time to make the journey.”

Currently, there are multiple programs put in place by the Trump administration to prevent the caravan migrants that are now forcing their way into Guatemala from Honduras from entering the U.S. if they make it this far. Those programs include immigration enforcement programs in the Northern Triangle countries of Central America and Mexico. . .

Currently, thousands of Honduran migrants are attempting to make their way through Guatemala after forcing their way through border crossings over the weekend.

Senator Blames Pelosi for Capitol Riot

Lindsey Graham suggested Sunday Nancy Pelosi is to blame for thousands of pro-Trump protesters breaching the Capitol earlier this month, claiming it is the House Speaker’s job to provide Capitol security.

‘To see people come and take over the Capitol – the House and the Senate – beat officers, defile the seat of government. How in the hell could that happen? Where was Nancy Pelosi? It’s her job to provide Capitol security,’ the South Carolina Republican, and staunch ally of President Donald Trump said during an interview on ‘Sunday Morning Futures.’

He added: ‘We’ll get to the bottom of that.’

Trump Planning Major “Farewell” Event at Military Base on Inauguration Day; Pompeo Stands By Trump In Farewell Tweets

By Newsmax. President Donald Trump now plans to leave Washington to hold a farewell event on the morning of Inauguration Day, after considering leaving a day earlier, a source familiar with the matter told Reuters Friday.

Trump, who announced on Jan. 8 that he would not attend Democrat Joe Biden’s inauguration, is planning to hold his event at Joint Base Andrews in Maryland, where Air Force One is headquartered, the source said.

The departure ceremony under consideration could be an elaborate event with the feel of a state visit, The Associated Press reported, citing an unnamed person familiar with the planning who spoke on condition of anonymity because Trump’s plans have not been formally announced. The plan under consideration could involve a red carpet, color guard, military band, and 21-gun salute, AP reports. Alan Dershowitz Refuses to Defend Trump in Second Senate Impeachment Trial

Attorney Alan Dershowitz said he likely won’t be joining President Donald Trump’s legal team if a second Senate impeachment trial is held, The Boston Globe reported Thursday.

Dershowitz represented Trump in the president’s Senate impeachment trial in 2020, in which he was acquitted of both charges of abuse of power and obstruction. Dershowitz reportedly would not consider joining his legal team for a second time, according to The Boston Globe.

“This is political theater, and I’m neither a politician or an actor, so I don’t see a role for a real lawyer to play in this show,” Dershowitz noted in a phone interview, according to The Boston Globe. . .

“While I believe his remarks to his supporters last week were disturbing and a serious mistake, it did not meet the basis for removal under the Constitution,” Dershowitz wrote in The Hill on Thursday, referring to the president encouraging his supporters to go to the Capitol prior to the riots.

NRA Files for Bankruptcy

The National Rifle Association has filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy, as it seeks to leave New York and reincorporate in Texas, the gun rights organization announced Friday.

The NRA “will restructure the Association as a Texas nonprofit to exit what it believes is a corrupt political and regulatory environment in New York,” the group wrote in a press release.

The announcement comes months after New York Attorney General Letitia James (D) sued the NRA in an effort to dissolve the organization entirely over allegations of fraud and misuse of donor funds.

James mocked the NRA over the news, tweeting, “The @NRA’s claimed financial status has finally met its moral status: bankrupt. While we review its bankruptcy filing, we will not allow the @NRA to use this or any other tactic to evade accountability and my office’s oversight.”

William Brewer III, an attorney representing the NRA in some of its legal battles, said in a statement, “Under this plan, the Association wisely seeks protection from New York officials who it believes have illegally weaponized their powers against the NRA and its members.” He added, “The NRA will continue to fight to protect the interests of its members in New York – and all forums where the NRA is unlawfully singled out for its Second Amendment advocacy.” (Read more from “NRA Files for Bankruptcy” HERE)

Trump-Hating Lincoln Project Cofounder, Former McCain Aide, Acknowledges Sexually Harassing Multiple Men

John Weaver, a co-founder of the Lincoln Project and former top advisor to Republicans John McCain and John Kasich, apologized Friday for sending “inappropriate” messages to multiple men, Axios reported.

“To the men I made uncomfortable through my messages that I viewed as consensual mutual conversations at the time: I am truly sorry,” Weaver told Axios. “They were inappropriate and it was because of my failings that this discomfort was brought on you.”

“The truth is that I’m gay,” he reportedly said. “And that I have a wife and two kids who I love. My inability to reconcile those two truths has led to this agonizing place.”

Conservative writer Ryan Girdusky alleged Jan. 9 on Twitter that Weaver had offered jobs to young men in exchange for sex. Since then, multiple men have accused Weaver on social media of sending them unsolicited sexual messages, sometimes along with job offers or political opportunities.

Biden Taps Harvey Weinstein ‘Damage Control’ Adviser for Senior White House Role

Anita Dunn, the Democratic lobbyist who previously offered “damage control” advice to the disgraced Hollywood pervert Harvey Weinstein, will take on a senior role in the Biden administration.

Dunn will join a number of other ex-Obama officials in the Biden White House, including Jen Psaki, John Kerry, and Susan Rice. She will serve as a senior adviser primarily working with the communications staff and is not expected to remain in the role for the long term.

According to a BuzzFeed report published in October 2016, Dunn was one of many legal and communications professionals who provided “damage control advice” to Weinstein following reports of his long history of sexual predation. Dunn was not paid for her advice but was “asked to speak with [Weinstein] by a friend,” her lobbying firm, SKDKnickerbocker, said in a statement. No Longer America: Census Under Biden Will Count Illegals for Divvying up House Seats

President Donald Trump’s effort to exclude people in the U.S. illegally from being counted in the process for divvying up congressional seats was dealt another blow Wednesday when the Census Bureau’s director indefinitely halted an effort to gather data on the citizenship status of every U.S. resident.

Bureau workers laboring to comply with the Trump order were instructed to “’stand down’ and discontinue their data reviews,” Census Bureau Director Steven Dillingham said in a memo. . .

Dillingham’s memo came after the Office of Inspector General reported Tuesday that bureau workers were under significant pressure from two Trump political appointees, Nathaniel Cogley and Benjamin Overholt, to figure out who is in the U.S illegally, using federal and state administrative records. Bureau statisticians worried that any citizenship figures they were forced to produce would be incomplete, misinterpreted and tarnish the statistical agency’s reputation, the inspector general said in a memo. Trump Declassifies Russia-Investigation Documents

The Russia-collusion investigation launched by Democrats against Donald Trump even before he took office consumed the first three years of his presidency.

It’s now known that the claim that Trump colluded with Russia to win the 2016 election was fueled in large part by a bogus “dossier” of Russian propaganda financed by Hillary Clinton’s campaign.

On Friday, Senate Judiciary Committee Chairman Lindsey Graham released declassified documents related to the Obama administration’s “Crossfire Hurricane” investigation, Fox News reported.

Graham called the probe, in which the “Steele dossier” was used to obtain warrants to sspy on the Trump campaign, “one of the most incompetent and corrupt investigations in the history of the FBI and DOJ.” . . .

“I consider the Crossfire Hurricane investigation a massive system failure by senior leadership, but not representative of the dedicated, hardworking patriots who protect our nation every day at Federal Bureau of Investigation and the Department of Justice,” Graham said in a statement Friday. Report: Trump Considering Pardon for Steve Bannon

President Donald Trump is considering issuing a pardon for his former adviser, Steve Bannon, according to a new report. . .

Politico reported the claim Friday, citing “two sources familiar with the matter” while noting that Bannon “was charged with swindling donors to a private crowdsourcing effort to build a wall along the U.S.-Mexico border.”

Bannon, the former head of Breitbart News Network, and three others linked to the “We Build the Wall” campaign were arrested in August over allegations that they defrauded donors in the initiative and siphoned off funds from the $25 million haul for personal use. Bannon called the indictment “a political hitjob.”

Following Bannon’s arrest, Trump distanced himself from the former White House aide, saying of the “We Build the Wall” effort, “When I read about it, I didn’t like it. I said, ‘This is for government; this isn’t for private people.’ And is sounded to me like showboating.” . . .

According to Bloomberg, Bannon and Trump have been in talks in recent weeks.
