Evidence in Ghislaine Maxwell Case Includes ‘Nude, Partially Nude, or Otherwise Sexualized Images’

Highly confidential evidence in the Ghislaine Maxwell case includes “nude, partially nude or otherwise sexualized images (and) videos,” a new court filing revealed Monday.

Maxwell, 58, is being held in MDC Brooklyn without bail while awaiting trial for grooming underage girls for Jeffrey Epstein’s sexual abuse. Prosecutors say she at times participated in the abuse of girls she manipulated.

The description of the evidence was included in a 13-page document placing restrictions on evidence that Manhattan Federal prosecutors will share with Maxwell’s defense team.

When the FBI raided Epstein’s Upper East Side mansion last year investigators found a stash of nude photographs of underage girls.

Prosecutors and Maxwell’s legal teams asked Judge Alison Nathan to resolve two disputes about the evidence. Maxwell’s attorneys wanted any witnesses — including alleged victims — to not be allowed to use evidence for any purpose beyond prepping for her criminal trial. Seattle Bans Cops From Defending Businesses From Violent Rioters

Roving bands of looters are now officially the problem of Seattle business owners — and not that of the Seattle police.

Seattle Police Chief Carmen Best sent out a letter, dated July 24, detailing a new ordinance that prohibits Seattle police officers from using “less lethal tools, including pepper spray” to disperse any angry mobs. The ordinance can be read in its entirety here.

Best wrote, “Please know that the Seattle Police Department is committed to addressing life safety incidents and calls for service, and responding to ongoing demonstrations and unrest in the city.”

The letter, which emerged on social media, reads, “Please also know that the City Council Ordinance 119805 Crowd Control Tool goes into effect this weekend on Sunday, July 26, 2020. This ordinance bans Seattle Police officers the use of less lethal tools, including pepper spray that is commonly used to disperse crowds that have turned violent. Simply put, the legislation gives officers NO ability to safely intercede to preserve property in the midst of a large, violent crowd.”

The letter continued, “It is important to bring to your attention that yesterday, I sent the City Council a letter ensuring them that as the Chief of Police, I have done my due diligence of informing them numerous times of the foreseeable impact of this ordinance on upcoming events. The letter is attached for your reference.”

Andrew Cuomo Blames New York Post and Wall Street Journal for Spikes in COVID-19

New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo blamed a pair of media outlets for the surge of coronavirus cases in states such as Arizona and Florida.

“Florida listened to the New York Post,” Cuomo said in a call with reporters on Sunday. “Texas listened to the Wall Street Journal. Arizona listened to the Wall Street Journal and the New York Post. That was wrong. That was wrong.”

There have been spikes in COVID-19 cases in states across the country this past month. More than 4 million U.S. residents have been infected, and 150,000 deaths have been attributed to the virus. The uptick in infections have prompted local and state officials to halt reopenings and even rescind some measures in order to keep public health at bay. . .

“The Wall Street Journal, New York Post — they continue to beat a horse that is dead: ‘We should reopen the economy faster in New York,’ ‘The infection rate is low; reopen faster,’” Cuomo said. “The infection rate is low because we have done an intelligent, phased reopening. What they are advocating has been demonstrated to be wrong and to be a failure.” (Read more from “Andrew Cuomo Blames New York Post and Wall Street Journal for Spikes in COVID-19” HERE)

Democrats Beware: AG Barr Tears Into ‘Bogus Russiagate Scandal’

Attorney General William Barr stands ready to storm the House Judiciary Committee on Tuesday with a forceful critique of Democrats who are itching to paint him as a loyal minion eager to put protecting President Trump over the nation’s best interests.

In his prepared opening remarks, obtained by the Washington Examiner, Barr is poised to jump ahead of the onslaught of questions about his dogged uncloaking of the politically charged secrets of the Russia investigation, which Trump and his allies view as a plot to sabotage his campaign and presidency, with the 2020 election fast approaching.

“Ever since I made it clear that I was going to do everything I could to get to the bottom of the grave abuses involved in the bogus ‘Russiagate’ scandal, many of the Democrats on this Committee have attempted to discredit me by conjuring up a narrative that I am simply the President’s factotum who disposes of criminal cases according to his instructions,” Barr plans to say.

“The Attorney General has a unique obligation … He must ensure that there is one standard of justice that applies to everyone equally and that criminal cases are handled evenhandedly, based on the law and the facts, and without regard to political or personal considerations. I can tell you that I have handled criminal matters that have come to me for decision in this way,” Barr will add.

Barr’s testimony comes just under the 100-day mark ahead of the November election — a contest which will likely pit Trump against Joe Biden, the former vice president, who according to a flurry of recent document disclosures was at least privy, if not involved, in the counterintelligence investigation into the Trump campaign’s ties to Russia. NY Supreme Court Orders Police to Hand Over Private Information About Gun Owners

The New York State Supreme Court last week granted a motion ordering the New York City Police Department (NYPD) to turn over the name, zip codes and license category of anyone who was granted a firearm license in 2018.

The New York Daily News made the request under the Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) request process, which provides public information from government agencies to citizens and journalists.

According to the lawsuit filed against the NYPD, the newspaper makes the argument that they should have access to the information because their reporters “frequently cover gun-related political and policing issues.”

The Daily News argues that the information can be turned over because of a state law – known as the SAFE Act – that declared “that names and addresses of all firearms licenses were public information.”

Under the SAFE Act, gun owners have the ability to opt-out of their information being handed over in FOIA requests but their application has to be approved. It’s the information of those that did not opt-out that the newspaper wants. (Read more from “NY Supreme Court Orders Police to Hand Over Private Information About Gun Owners” HERE)

Bernie Supporter Joe Rogan Now Says He’ll Vote Trump this November, Moving to Texas

By Benjamin Fearnow. Podcast host and comedian Joe Rogan said he would rather vote for President Donald Trump than Democratic candidate Joe Biden, arguing that Trump has held up well to the pressure of the office versus Biden.

The Joe Rogan Experience host spoke at his studio Friday with Eric Weinstein, managing director of the Thiel Capital investment firm, where the two compared Trump’s behavior and “fake alpha” persona to that of a professional wrestler. The conversation veered into 2020 politics after Weinstein complained people “express themselves moronically” when they are given no choices in life. The podcast host, who last week described the former Vice President as “very old” and “stumbling,” claimed the Democratic Party “made us all morons” by promoting Biden’s campaign and potential nomination. Rogan has previously stated he would “probably vote for” Bernie Sanders.

He appeared to compliment Trump’s vitality for seemingly “not aging at all” during his time in office.

MLB Player Refuses to Kneel for Black Lives Matter Because of Christian Faith

San Francisco Giants pitcher Sam Coonrod was the only player to stand during a moment honoring the Black Lives Matter movement ahead of the season opener against the Los Angeles Dodgers, telling reporters after the game that as a Christian he “can’t kneel before anything besides God.”

MLB provided teams with a long black ribbon that players on both sides jointly held as they kneeled in unity.

Every player and coach from the Washington Nationals and New York Yankees took part in the demonstration ahead of their game, but hours later, Coonrod stood alone.

I’m a Christian,” he said, according to TMZ Sports. “So I just believe that I can’t kneel before anything besides God.” . . .

“I just can’t get on board with a couple things I’ve read about Black Lives Matter, how they lean towards Marxism,” he continued. “And … they said some negative things about the nuclear family. I just can’t get on board with that.” (Read more from “MLB Player Refuses to Kneel for Black Lives Matter Because of Christian Faith” HERE)

NO MORE BETRAYALS: Senator Just Set the Standard for Conservative Supreme Court Justices

Social conservatives are done being taken for granted by the GOP: That’s the message Sen. Josh Hawley shot across the party and administration’s bow Sunday, setting a brave and admirable standard for Christian legislators that is sure to pit him against powerful Washington Republicans and Democrats.

“I will vote only for those Supreme Court nominees who have explicitly acknowledged that Roe v. Wade is wrongly decided.” Hawley told The Washington Post. “By explicitly acknowledged, I mean on the record and before they were nominated.”

“I don’t want private assurances from candidates. I don’t want to hear about their personal views, one way or another. I’m not looking for forecasts about how they may vote in the future or predictions. I don’t want any of that. I want to see on the record, as part of their record, that they have acknowledged in some forum that Roe v. Wade, as a legal matter, is wrongly decided.”

The junior senator from Missouri is a member of the powerful Senate Judiciary Committee, through which any of President Donald Trump’s potential future nominees to the Supreme Court must pass before being brought to the floor for a vote. Conservative judges have been a major point for this administration, beginning during the campaign when, working closely with The Federalist Society and The Heritage Foundation, Trump released a list of who he would nominate, exciting then-skeptical conservatives.

Since then, conservatives have been routinely disappointed by Republican-nominated justices, quietly complaining about the GOP and the powerful, conservative Federalist Society’s tendency to focus on justices who have established records of conservative and libertarian business and government rulings, but no firmly established record of rulings that protect either marriage or the lives of the unborn. Rioters Target NYPD Vehicles, Light Fires in Chaotic City Scene; Protests Explode Across the Country

By New York Post. Anti-cop demonstrators wreaked havoc in Lower Manhattan on Saturday night, setting fires and vandalizing several NYPD vehicles.

The chaos and destruction can be seen on video and was meant as a show of solidarity with protesters in Portland and Seattle, according to officials and police sources.

Video of the night’s unrest shows vandals defacing a trio of marked NYPD vans, tagging them with graffiti, slashing their tires and attempting to smash in their windows with a signpost and the wheel of a bicycle.

Another segment of the video shows four demonstrators jumping atop a marked department SUV, one of them holding an inverted American flag with the message “F–k NYPD” scrawled across it in black. . .

A few hundred demonstrators assembled at Rivington and Ludlow streets on the Lower East Side, and from there marched towards One Police Plaza, sowing chaos along the way, sources said. (Read more from “Rioters Target NYPD Vehicles, Light Fires in Chaotic City Scene” HERE)

Schumer Rejects $1 Trillion Stimulus Proposal

Senate Republicans unveiled their version of a fresh round of coronavirus relief on Monday, as White House negotiators and House Speaker Nancy Pelosi are set to meet in the evening to begin negotiations.

“So I hope this strong proposal will occasion a real response. Not partisan cheap shots. Not the predictable, tired, old rhetoric as though these were ordinary times and the nation could afford ordinary politics,” Sen. Majority Leader Mitch McConnell, R-Ky., said in unveiling the HEALS Act.

The $1 trillion Republican bill is the alternative to the House’s HEROES act, the $3 trillion relief legislation passed in May. HEALS stands for the package’s focus on Health, Economic Assistance, Liability protection, and Schools. . .

The Democratic leader in the Senate, Sen. Minority Leader Chuck Schumer, blasted the legislation as “totally inadequate.”

“We’ve waited months for a Republican bill and still the Republican response is totally inadequate,” the New York Democrat said on the Senate floor. (Read more from “Schumer Rejects $1 Trillion Stimulus Proposal” HERE)
