Roy Moore Goes After Election Accusers, Alleges ‘Political Conspiracy’

By The Blaze. After his failed bid for a US Senate seat in Alabama last year, Roy Moore has filed a lawsuit alleging that the women who accused him during the campaign of sexual misconduct from years prior were part of a political conspiracy against him.

Just an hour before a joint news conference with his wife, Kayla, Moore and his spouse filed the suit in Etowah County against defendants Leigh Corfman, Tina Johnson, Beverly Young Nelson and Debbie Wesson Gibson. A friend of Corfman’s, Richard Hagedorn, was also named.

Moore’s attorney, Melissa Isaak said, “We intend to show the people of Alabama that a political conspiracy came about to ruin his campaign for Senate. And to defame him, defame his character, so that the people of Alabama would not vote for him during the special Senate election.”

The plaintiffs are asking for both compensatory and punitive damages “in an amount that will adequately reflect the enormity of the defendants’ wrongful, outrageous acts” and an amount high enough to deter future accusations. (Read more from “Roy Moore Goes After Election Accusers” HERE)

Roy Moore Files Lawsuit Against 3 Women, Alleging ‘Political Conspiracy’

By CNN. Failed Alabama Senate candidate Roy Moore says the women who accused him of sexual assault were part of a political conspiracy, according to a lawsuit filed Monday.

The suit was jointly filed with his wife, Kayla, about an hour before the two held a news conference. It was Moore’s first public appearance since election night in December, when Moore, a Republican, was upset by Democrat Doug Jones. The defendants include three women who made accusations against Moore as well as two other people.

“This was filed because the people of Alabama deserve to know the truth,” said Melissa Isaak, an attorney representing Moore. “The accusations made against Judge Moore during the US Senate campaign arose from a political conspiracy to destroy his personal reputation and defeat him in the special Senate election for United States Senate.”

The suit is asking for compensatory damages from all defendants listed along with interest from the date of the injuries and the court costs. The suit is also asking for punitive damages “in an amount that will adequately reflect the enormity of the defendants’ wrongful, outrageous acts” and an amount that will prevent similar acts. Finally: Miami Herald Sues for Deep State Records on Pedophile Jeffrey Epstein and His Billionaire Co-Conspirators

“These judicial documents are germane to the Miami Herald’s ongoing coverage of dozens of underage minors who were victims of Jeffrey Epstein, the South Florida financier who pleaded guilty in 2008 to solicitation of minors for prostitution and was suspected of involvement in a larger sex-trafficking organization,” the motion says.

Jeffrey Epstein, a retired billionaire financier, served 13 months in jail after pleading guilty to one count of soliciting sex from an underage girl. At the time, there were more than 14 accusations from underage women that Epstein had had inappropriate relationships with them.

The story only exploded from there. Epstein was accused of romps with underage girls on his private jet, known as the “Lolita Express.” Bill Clinton has flown on the plane at least 24 times, once to Africa for a Clinton Foundation outing. Epstein is said to have placed hidden cameras in his plane and home in order to film and blackmail important people having sex with minors . . .

Two female associates of Epstein have been accused of acting as a pimp for him, procuring and grooming young girls to be his sex slaves. Jill Stein’s Campaign Issues Shock Statement on Trump Russia Probe

By Conservative Tribune. Remember Jill Stein? The Green Party candidate who garnered only 1 percent of the vote in the presidential election may have left the public spotlight, but it looks like Congress hasn’t forgotten about her.

The congressional probe into alleged Russian meddling in the 2016 election took a strange turn on Thursday, when the far-left campaign team sent a surprisingly stubborn message to the Senate committee conducting the investigation.

“The Jill Stein campaign is refusing to comply fully with a Senate intelligence committee request for documents and other correspondence, made as part of the committee’s probe into Russian activities in the 2016 election,” reported The Intercept.

That committee is looking beyond the much-touted but unproven claims that the Trump campaign colluded with Russia, and is investigating the broader, much more plausible possibility that the former Soviet nation tried to undermine the overall election process.

“The Green Party campaign will agree to turn over some documents, but raised constitutional objections to the breadth of the inquiry, which was first made in November 2017, arguing that elements of it infringe on basic political rights enshrined in the First Amendment,” continued The Intercept. Jill Stein’s Campaign Objects to Senate Request for Some Russia Documents

By CNN. The presidential campaign of 2016 Green Party candidate Jill Stein told CNN on Monday she has objected to turning over some documents to the Senate Intelligence Committee related to the campaign’s contacts and discussions related to Russia.

Stein’s campaign provided some documents last month as part the Senate committee’s Russia probe, but the campaign objected to several requests as overly broad and infringing on “constitutionally protected materials,” according to a letter from Stein’s attorney, Mara Verheyden-Hilliard of the Washington-based Partnership for Civil Justice.

The Green Party candidate provided documents related to communications with officials tied to Russian media organizations and the Kremlin, as well as documents related to Stein’s 2015 trip to Moscow, which included a dinner hosted by RT that was also attended by both former Trump administration aide Michael Flynn and Russian President Vladimir Putin.

But the campaign objected to the committee’s request for communications with “Russian persons, or representatives of Russian government, media, or business interests,” arguing it was broadly targeting the communications of people “because they happen to be Russian immigrants or of Russian descent.” (Read more from “Jill Stein’s Campaign Objects to Senate Request for Some Russia Documents” HERE)

Kanye Tweets About Democrats Being the Party of Slavery and the Left Explodes

The highly-entertaining triggering of the Left by Kanye West continued on Monday afternoon when the rapper tweeted a conversation he had with a man named Steve via text message that stated a horribly inconvenient truth about Democrats: they were the party of slavery.

“Abe Lincoln freed and protected the slaves and he was republican,” reads the message. “Republicans were the ones who’s helped black people … democrats protected the rights of the slave owners in the South.”

This, of course, is factually accurate and never ceases to trigger the Left fulminating with revisionist history and outrage. Monday was no exception. Here are some of the angry reactions of Hollywood elites and other leftists:

Think It Can’t Happen in the U.S.? Texas Hospital Ends Life Support of Fully-Conscious Patient

By The Blaze. . .In 2015, a 46-year-old Texan, Christopher David Dunn, was diagnosed with a noncancerous but otherwise unidentified mass on his pancreas. Though Dunn was fully-conscious and clearly expressing his desire to live, the Houston Methodist Hospital’s administrative “death panel” ruled to discontinue life-sustaining care.

J. Richard Cheney, the Meeting Chair of the Houston Methodist Bioethics Committee, sent a letter to Dunn and his mother, Evelyn Kelly, which read: “The Committee has decided that life-sustaining treatment is medically inappropriate for Chris and that all treatments other than those needed to keep him comfortable should be discontinued and withheld.”

Dunn was a former sheriff’s deputy and Homeland Security officer but had no health insurance at the time of his illness. Along with his family, Dunn filed a lawsuit against the hospital in an attempt to save his life.

“The hospital wants to turn Chris’ nutrients and extra air off and they are playing God. They want to kill my son. They say there is nothing else they can do for him, but I don’t believe that,” claimed Dunn’s mother. “When they found out that Chris did not have insurance, they said they were done.”

Fight over Care of Brain-Damaged Baby Divides Britain

By The New York Post. Alfie Evans does not know it, but he is the subject of a national debate in Britain, international diplomacy and a bitter legal dispute. He is held up as a tragedy, a beacon of hope and an object lesson. And he might not live to turn 2 years old.

The hospital and doctors treating him in Liverpool say that Alfie suffers from a degenerative neurological condition that is certainly fatal, that he is in a semi-vegetative state and that the only humane course of action is to let him die. His parents, supported by the Italian and Polish governments and the pope, are not convinced that he is beyond hope, or even that the doctors understand his condition, and they want to continue his care.

On Wednesday, the British Court of Appeal upheld a ruling that not only approved the withdrawal of care and sustenance, but also prohibited his parents from seeking treatment elsewhere, despite an invitation to take him to a hospital in Rome. The decision is wrenching to the parents, the courts have said, but prolonging Alfie’s life would prolong his suffering, and so it would be contrary to his interests. People ‘Associated with’ Caravan Have Entered U.S. Illegally

By The L.A. Times. Some people associated with the Central American migrant caravan, which arrived in Tijuana this week, have crossed into the United States illegally in the last 24 hours, federal officials said Saturday.

A pregnant woman and some children as young as 4 were detected entering the U.S. through a canyon that authorities described in a statement as dark, treacherous and “notorious for human and drug smuggling.”

They were said to have climbed over a dilapidated scrap metal border fence on either side of the San Ysidro Port of Entry.

Migrants Who Traveled with Caravan Vow to Wait at Border Until They Are Granted Asylum

By CNN. After a difficult, monthlong journey from Central America to the US-Mexico border, dozens of asylum-seeking migrants are vowing to remain outside an immigration processing center until “every last one” is admitted into the country, an organizer with the caravan said late Sunday.

Earlier, the migrants marched from Friendship Park in Tijuana, Mexico to the San Ysidro port of entry. They stood on the Mexican side; on the other side lay San Diego, California. It was the final leg for some in the caravan of hundreds of migrants, which had reached Tijuana on Tuesday.

Alex Mensing, an organizer with Pueblo Sin Fronteras, which assembled the caravan, said 50 migrants were admitted to the immigration processing center on the Mexico side. He said the migrants’ decision to not return to a nearby shelter overnight was made in solidarity with the asylum seekers who are inside the facility. Mattis: Criminal Charges Likely Amid Probe into Intelligence Contract

By Federal News Radio. Defense Secretary James Mattis told lawmakers Thursday it’s probable that federal officials will file criminal charges as part of an ongoing investigation into a series of contracts the Army issued to help establish security forces in Iraq and Afghanistan.

The contracts were supposed to be used to help those nations build their own intelligence gathering capabilities, but audits thus far have pointed to tens of millions of dollars in potential fraud connected to at least one vendor, including for luxury vehicles and six-figure salaries paid to its employees who performed no discernible work.

The ongoing criminal investigation involves a series of agreements, beginning in 2007, that wound up costing $458 million.

According to an audit the Special Inspector General for Afghanistan Reconstruction published in July, the lion’s share of those funds went to a single subcontractor, New Century Consulting (NCC). But SIGAR concluded that because of poor recordkeeping and a reliance on vendors to grade their own performance, it’s almost impossible to determine whether the contracts’ objectives were ever met. Facebook’s Latest Technique to Silence Conservatives Gets Exposed — and the Facts Are Damning

By The Blaze. . .In an exclusive story, the Daily Caller News Foundation obtained and reported on several hundred new text messages between FBI agent Peter Strzok and bureau lawyer Lisa Page. The text messages were turned over to Congress late Thursday and the DCNF reported on them Friday morning.

However, much of the DCNF’s readership was unable to access the story after the news organization shared it on the Daily Caller’s Facebook page. That’s because Facebook labeled the story “spam” and severely limited its circulation.

Facebook went so far as to prevent users, and the outlet, from sharing the story, urging them to post something else. . .

A Facebook spokesperson confirmed to the DCNF that its story “triggered one of our automated spam signals – likely because of the high activity that is mentioned in that alert.” Facebook assured the news outlet it would correct the error.

Facebook Blocks Daily Caller Story on FBI Texts — Blames ‘Spam’ Algorithm

By The Daily Caller. Facebook blocked users Friday from sharing a Daily Caller story on the 300 “missing” text messages between FBI Agent Peter Strzok and FBI lawyer Lisa Page that were turned over to Congress on Thursday night.

The Daily Caller News Foundation obtained and published the text messages early Friday morning. Sometime Friday afternoon, however, Facebook began blocking users from sharing the story with their friends, warning them that the story could be spam.

TheDCNF’s reporters attempted several times to post the story on Facebook after readers began complaining that Facebook wouldn’t allow them to share the story. Each time, Facebook rejected the post with a caution message. . .

This Is the Action Trump Will Take If Border Wall Is Not Funded

At a rally Saturday night in Washington, Michigan, President Donald Trump suggested that he’d be willing to force a government shutdown during the next round of budget talks in September if Congress continued to stall funding for a border wall between the United States and Mexico.

Speaking to a large crowd about an hour outside of Detroit — in an area of the state once heavily dependent on the auto industry to survive — Trump talked up his administration’s progress in righting “disastrous trade deals,” and reviving American industry, according to local media. He also took credit, in large part, for several major foreign policy advancements, including a tentative peace between North and South Korea, inked just this week.

But recognizing the crowd at his Michigan rally was similar to those crowds that joined him on the campaign trail, Trump quickly pivoted to border security, claiming Congress had abrogated its duty to the American people by refusing to fund a border wall in full and without reservation.

If Congress didn’t correct its course, Trump said, he’ll block further attempts to fund the government.

“We need security. We need the wall,” Trump announced. “We come up again on September 28th, and if we don’t get border security, we’ll have no choice. Judge Rules Trump Supporters Can Be Denied Service for Wearing MAGA Hat

A Manhattan judge ruled Wednesday against a Trump supporter who says he was thrown out of a bar for wearing a “Make America Great Again” hat, the New York Post reported.

Philadelphia resident Greg Piatek, 31, claimed in his lawsuit against the establishment that he was refused service and then removed from the New York City bar in January last year for wearing a MAGA hat.

“Anyone who supports Trump — or believes in what you believe — is not welcome here! And you need to leave right now because we won’t serve you!” Piatek said the staff of The Happiest Hour told him.

Piatek decided to sue in the Manhattan Supreme Court, saying the incident “offended his sense of being American.”

The bar’s lawyer, Elizabeth Conway, said the law protects religious beliefs — not political views.

“Supporting Trump is not a religion,” Conway said. “Whether you believe it very sincerely, it’s not.”

“He doesn’t allege that he has some sort of belief system that he follows in his everyday life and his hat is sort of an example of that,” she continued.

Paul Liggieri, Piatek’s lawyer, argued his defendant’s hat reflected a “spiritual tribute” to 9/11 victims and should be protected by an anti-discrimination statute.

“The purpose of the hat is that he wore it because he was visiting the 9/11 Memorial,” Liggieri said. “He was paying spiritual tribute to the victims of 9/11. The Make American Great Again hat was part of his spiritual belief.”

“Rather than remove his hat, instead he held true to his spiritual belief and was forced from the bar.”

Judge David Cohen ultimately sided with the bar.

“Plaintiff does not state any faith-based principle to which the hat relates,” Cohen said.
