Woman Arrested for Sending Poisoned Easter Eggs to Ex’s Family in Alleged ‘Revenge’ Plot, Killing 1 Child

A jealous ex allegedly sent poisoned chocolate Easter eggs to the home of her love rival, killing a 7-year-old boy and leaving two people in critical condition in Brazil.

Jordélia Pereira Barbosa, 35, allegedly purchased the chocolate eggs in a disguise at a supermarket and spiked them herself before they were delivered to the home of her ex-boyfriend’s new partner, 32-year-old Mirian Lira, according to reports.

Barbosa left a note with the gift that read, “With love, to Mirian Lira. Happy Easter,” the Daily Mail reported.

Lira received the gift and shared the eggs with her children, 7-year-old Luis Silva and 13-year-old Evelyn Fernanda, last Wednesday.

Little Luis fell ill “immediately” after eating the chocolates and died at a nearby hospital the following day. Evelyn and Lira are still in critical condition at the same hospital, according to The Standard. Defense SEC. Hegseth Shared War Plans in Second Signal Chat: Report

Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth sent details of the March attack on the Houthis in Yemen in a second group chat that included his wife, brother and personal lawyer — the latest scandal out of the Pentagon in a chaotic few weeks, according to a report.

Hegseth reportedly shared the sensitive details about the strikes to his spouse before the US carried out the March 15 attack, the New York Times reported Sunday, citing four sources with knowledge of the chat.

The information he shared was nearly identical to what was sent in another chat that mistakenly included a lefty journalist, according to the sources.

Last month, Hegseth allegedly texted the same information regarding the attack in a Signal group chat that included Jeffrey Goldberg, the editor-in-chief of The Atlantic magazine, among numerous Trump administration senior national security officials.

The revelation of a second sensitive group chat in just a few weeks after news of the first one broke adds to the apparent dysfunction inside the defense department, in which multiple top Hegseth advisors have been shown the door and a probe into alleged leaks is underway. Vice President JD Vance, Pope Francis Brush Off ‘Public Tiff,’ ‘Rift’ Media Claims At Easter Sunday Vatican Meeting

Vice President JD Vance met with Pope Francis on Easter Sunday, a diplomatic high water mark amid his ongoing April 18-24 trip to Italy, Vatican City and India.

The meeting lasted “some minutes and they exchanged Easter greetings,” according to a Vatican statement. The visit occurred at 11:30 a.m. local time in the pope’s residence in the Casa Santa Marta as Easter Sunday Mass was celebrated nearby in Saint Peter’s Square. Since Pope Francis, 88, is convalescing from double pneumonia after a 38-day hospitalization, the role of celebrant of the liturgy commemorating the resurrection of Jesus Christ was delegated to Cardinal Angelo Comastri, the retired archpriest of St. Peter’s Basilica.

The second family attended a separate, private Mass at the Papal Basilica of Saint Paul Outside-The-Walls, according to a Sunday press release from the Office of the Vice President.

“It’s good to see you in better health,” Vance told the Holy Father. The pope gifted him with a Vatican tie, blessed rosaries and three Easter eggs for his children. Before departing the brief encounter, Vance revealed to the bishop of Rome, “I pray for you every day.” (Read more from “Vice President JD Vance, Pope Francis Brush Off ‘Public Tiff,’ ‘Rift’ Media Claims At Easter Sunday Vatican Meeting” HERE)

‘He Is Risen!’: Trump Posts Easter Message of Devotion to the Nation

President Donald Trump, who in his wheeling and dealing developer years in New York was never described as a religious man, posted a particularly reverent post to the nation for Easter Sunday.

Posting on Truth Social, Trump wrote, “Melania and I would like to wish everyone a very Happy Easter! Whether you are heading out to Church or, watching Service from home, may this day be full of Peace and Joy for all who celebrate the Resurrection of Jesus Christ. HE IS RISEN!!”

The phrase “He is risen” is a significant one for Christians as it is stated in the present tense, signifying Christ is a living presence in the world and their lives. It’s a distinction typically only known to those who are more deeply committed to the Christian faith.

While Trump evoked the Bible frequently in both of his presidential campaigns, and has said he was raised as a Presbyterian, one of his biographers wrote that his church attendance as a young man was geared toward secular success.

Trump and his parents attended the Marble Collegiate Church, a New York congregation pastored by iconic minister Dr. Norman Vincent Peale. Trump was married in Peale’s church. His parents’ funerals were held there as well. (Read more from “‘He Is Risen!’: Trump Posts Easter Message of Devotion to the Nation” HERE)

White House Reveals COVID Lab Leak Theory as ‘True Origins’ of Pandemic in Flashy New Website That Blasts Biden, Fauci and Cuomo

The White House revamped its COVID-19 information website on Friday, unveiling a sleek new landing page dedicated to the “true origins” of the pandemic.

COVID.gov, which previously contained information about testing, treatment and vaccination against the coronavirus, now redirects to a website that reads, “Lab Leak: True Origins of COVID-19.”

The webpage slams both the Biden administration and former Democratic New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo’s handling of the pandemic — and indicates that the Trump administration is fully onboard with the theory that COVID-19 leaked out of a laboratory in Wuhan, China.

The new website lays out five reasons why COVID-19 likely originated from a Chinese lab:

“Data shows that all COVID-19 cases stem from a single introduction into humans. This runs contrary to previous pandemics where there were multiple spillover events.”

“Wuhan is home to China’s foremost SARS research lab, which has a history of conducting gain-of-function research (gene altering and organism supercharging) at inadequate biosafety levels.”

“Wuhan Institute of Virology (WIV) researchers were sick with COVID-like symptoms in the fall of 2019, months before COVID-19 was discovered at the wet market.”

“By nearly all measures of science, if there was evidence of a natural origin it would have already surfaced. But it hasn’t.”

Candidate Who Called Opponent ‘Senator Ukraine’ Used Ukrainian Footage In Campaign Video

Several scenes from Republican Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton’s Senate campaign announcement video were shot in foreign countries, the Daily Caller News Foundation has learned.

Paxton released a two-and-a-half-minute-long video April 9 following his decision to mount a primary challenge to incumbent Republican Texas Sen. John Cornyn. The video, which touts Paxton’s conservative credentials and accuses Cornyn of betraying the “America First” movement, uses stock footage shot in Ukraine, Russia and South Africa, according to a DCNF review of the video’s sourcing.

“Senator John Cornyn turned his back on President Trump,” the video’s narrator states. “It’s time for a change. Ken Paxton is the conservative fighter they couldn’t cancel.”

Paxton’s campaign is not the first to use foreign imagery licensed from stock footage websites to depict Americans. Candidates across both parties, including Democratic Oregon Rep. Janelle Bynum and former Republican Pennsylvania gubernatorial candidate Doug Mastriano, have raised eyebrows in recent years by featuring foreign stock footage in campaign materials.

The locations of the foreign footage used in Paxton’s video or those of the footages’ contributors were easily identifiable on most commonly used stock footage websites, according to a DCNF review. NASA Discovery Linked to Jesus Crucifixion ‘Reveals Exact Day He Died’

A discovery by NASA may confirm the Biblical account of Jesus’ crucifixion, according to researchers from Oxford University.

The Bible states that the sun turning into darkness and the moon into blood, which some scholars believe referenced events following Christ’s death.

NASA’s models, which trace the positions of the Earth, moon, and sun through history, show a lunar eclipse occurred on Friday, April 3, 33AD — the year traditionally linked to Jesus’ death.

The cosmic event would have been visible in Jerusalem shortly after sunset, and the position of the moon would have given it a reddish hue.

The Biblical historians believe the lunar eclipse identified by NASA was the same written about in the Bible.

The NASA discovery was made in the 1990s, but is now going viral on TikTok as today is known among Christians as the day Jesus was crucified. (Read more from “NASA Discovery Linked to Jesus Crucifixion ‘Reveals Exact Day He Died’” HERE)

Supreme Court Blocks, for Now, New Deportations Under 18th Century Wartime Law

The Supreme Court on Saturday blocked, for now, the deportations of any Venezuelans held in northern Texas under an 18th century wartime law.

In a brief order, the court directed the Trump administration not to remove Venezuelans held in the Bluebonnet Detention Center “until further order of this court.” . . .

The high court acted in an emergency appeal from the American Civil Liberties Union contending that immigration authorities appeared to be moving to restart removals under the Alien Enemies Act of 1798. The Supreme Court had said earlier in April that deportations could proceed only if those about to be removed had a chance to argue their case in court and were given “a reasonable time” to contest their pending removals.

“We are deeply relieved that the Court has temporarily blocked the removals. These individuals were in imminent danger of spending the rest of their lives in a brutal Salvadoran prison without ever having had any due process,” ACLU lawyer Lee Gelernt said in an email.

On Friday, two federal judges refused to step in as lawyers for the men launched a desperate legal campaign to prevent their deportation, even as one judge said the case raised legitimate concerns. Early Saturday, the 5th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals also refused to issue an order protecting the detainees from being deported. Trump Will Walk Away From Ukraine Talks in Days if Moscow and Kyiv Aren’t Serious About Peace, Warns Rubio

The United States will do whatever it takes to get peace in Ukraine as long as “either side or both” actually engage in the process, but as things stand now America will “move on” within days if there are no signs of progress.

Neither Ukraine or Russia are engaging in the peace process properly, Secretary of State Marco Rubio suggested on Friday morning as he boarded his flight back to the U.S., saying if there isn’t a breakthrough in the peace process within days the United States would disengage.

The United States is not willing to attend endless unproductive meetings, and meetings for the sake of having meetings, Rubio told press on the tarmac in barely-veiled criticism of both Moscow and Kyiv. He said: “We came here yesterday to begin to talk about more specific outlines of what it might take to end the war, to try to figure out very soon and I’m talking about a matter of days, not a matter of weeks, whether or not this is a war that can be ended.

“If it can, we’re prepared to do whatever we can to facilitate that to make sure that happens, that it ends in a durable and just way.

If there are no indications the two sides are actually willing to agree to a ceasefire — previous bids to establish such a state have been met with further demands for concessions, conditions, and carveouts — then “the President’s probably at a point where he’s going to say ‘well, we’re done’.” (Read more from “Trump Will Walk Away From Ukraine Talks in Days if Moscow and Kyiv Aren’t Serious About Peace, Warns Rubio” HERE)
