Judge Blocks Part of Trump’s DEI Executive Order, Calls It a ‘Coercive Threat’

Yet another federal judge has blocked a portion of one of President Donald Trump’s executive orders, arguing that his directive to terminate government contracts with all diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) programs is a “coercive threat.”

Judge Matthew F. Kennelly of the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Illinois signed a memorandum opinion and order on Thursday in favor of a Chicago-based nonprofit that promotes “diversity, equity, and inclusion within the skilled trades industry.”

The organization, Chicago Women in Trades (CWIT), receives roughly 40 percent of its annual budget from the federal government, according to the document.

In a 46-page civil lawsuit filed in February, a month after Trump signed EO 1415, “Ending Radical and Wasteful Government DEI Programs and Preferencing,” and EO 14173, “Ending Illegal Discrimination and Restoring Merit-Based Opportunity.”

As a result of Trump’s orders, CWIT received notices from the Department of Labor (DOL) Women’s Bureau and the Illinois DOL about grants they were funding, stating that all recipients of federal financial assistance are directed to cease all activities related to DEI “effective immediately,” and that the department was “reviewing all active federal awards and will take appropriate action, including terminating the awards, consistent with the Executive Orders.” (Read more from “Judge Blocks Part of Trump’s DEI Executive Order, Calls It a ‘Coercive Threat’” HERE)

Nevada’s Elections Chief Won’t Say If He’s Probing Hundreds Of Allegedly Illegal 2024 Votes

Nevada’s Democrat elections chief is refusing to say whether his office is investigating claims of potentially hundreds of illegal votes cast in the state’s 2024 elections, The Federalist learned.

The situation came to fruition last month, when the Nevada-based Citizen Outreach Foundation (COF) began filing election integrity violation reports (EIVR) with the office of Secretary of State Cisco Aguilar, a Democrat. These formal complaints, according to the Nevada secretary of state’s website, can be used by citizens to report alleged violations of state election law and “must set forth the alleged violation of law and identify the party responsible for the violation, as well as set forth dates and times of specific occurrences, if practicable.”

If the secretary’s office determines a violation has, in fact, occurred, an “appropriate remedy shall be provided to the extent permitted by law.” Should the elections chief determine the EIVR does not allege a violation of election law, he “may dismiss the complaint or refer it to the proper agency for resolution,” with the complainant being notified of whatever action is taken.

Speaking with The Federalist, COF President Chuck Muth said his group has filed more than 500 EIVRs with Aguilar’s office over the last month contesting votes cast by mail in the November 2024 election. Comparing voter registration records, the U.S. Postal Service’s National Change of Address database, and the state’s 2024 election records, the group claims to have determined that these ballots were returned from addresses the affiliated registrants no longer reside at.

Unlike most states, Nevada requires local clerks to automatically mail individuals listed on the state’s active voter registration list a ballot during each election cycle, according to Ballotpedia. ‘Huge Concern’: Top Youth Pollster Fears Dems Losing Grip On Key Generation Of Voters

Harvard Kennedy School’s Institute of Politics Polling Director Jonathan Della Volpe expressed worry during a Friday podcast that Democrats may be losing ground with younger voters.

Della Volpe, on “Fast Politics w/ Molly Jong-Fast,” said he fears the Democrat Party missed an extraordinary chance to solidify its influence with young Americans in recent years.

“The concern I have for Democrats is just a handful of years ago, I would say that every day that, for every thousand young people who turn 18, Molly, like 700 of them, six or 700 of them, have values aligned with the Democrat Party,” Della Volpe said. “It was like this incredible opportunity for the Democrats to kind of cement kind of their values with an emerging generation. They didn’t communicate that very well.”

“And now we’re living, you know, in what I think is the beginning of a post-ideological era with younger people, okay, where, because of the concerns about economics, they’re voting in what they would say is a much more pragmatic way than they did, you know, in maybe ’16 or, you know, in ’18 or even in ’20,” he continued. “So that’s a concern if younger people agree with Democrats on most issues, but they’re not voting in the numbers that they voted with Democrats in the past. President Trump’s popularity is at a record high as the largest share of Americans in decades believe the country is on the right track, according to new polling data.

While the president’s current net-favorable rating is in the negatives — at -4 percentage — he is making steady progress in the right direction. It’s far better than the -10 point rating he had in March 2017 and the -7 point rating Americans gave him after the November election, according to aggregate polling compiled by CNN analyst Harry Enten.

Enten gave the network’s lefty viewers a “reality check” this week with the new poll numbers, showing Trump has a higher favorability rating now than at any point in his first term.

“All we talk about is how unpopular Donald Trump is,” Enten began. “But in reality, he’s basically more popular than he was at any point in term number one and more popular than he was when he won the election back in November of 2024.”

Karen Bass’ Destroyed Text Messages Have Miraculously Reappeared

Los Angeles Mayor Karen Bass is still reeling from the massive wildfires that engulfed the county in January. It’s likely going to be labeled the costliest natural disaster in American history, with damage estimates ranging from $164-250-plus billion. Ms. Bass was not in Los Angeles when the fires broke out on January 7. She wasn’t even in the United States. The mayor was partying in Ghana, celebrating the president’s inauguration, which hardly seems appropriate, especially since this trip was taxpayer-funded. Bass promised she’d never leave the country during her time in the mayor’s office.

She claims to have been in contact with those on the ground as she traveled back to Los Angeles, but a record of that was initially missing. Text messages were reported to have been deleted, with aides saying Bass’ phone was not set to save text messages. That narrative—that she was hands-on with those on the ground—seemed to have imploded. It also sparked further controversy about whether the mayor violated public records laws. . .

Well, those destroyed communications have risen like a phoenix rising from the ashes (via NBC LA):

Los Angeles Mayor Karen Bass exchanged text messages during the early hours of the Palisades Fire that showed she struggled to communicate with her staff as she returned from a trip to Ghana.

The messages, released by the Mayor’s office in response to a California Public Records Act request, help to illustrate how she managed the city’s fire response remotely, while she was on board several flights after attending the inauguration of Ghana’s new president as part of a U.S. delegation.

On Jan. 7 at 11:20 p.m., the mayor texted her team after failing to connect on a conference call with the general managers of city departments. The Palisades Fire had started hours earlier at around 10:30 a.m. and was fanned by strong Santa Ana wind gusts to eventually become the third most destructive wildfire on record in California

“I’m listening. Don’t know why you can’t hear me,” Bass messaged.

In response, one of her staffers said they could not hear her on their end.

New details surrounding the depraved antics of a New Jersey police chief accused of creating a toxic workplace through disturbing “pranks” — like spiking the office coffee pot with Viagra, pricking an officer’s penis with a hypodermic needle, and defecating on the floor — emerged in court documents and shocking images outlining the alleged harassment.

Court filings from five officers planning to sue the Township of North Bergen allege a wide range of shockingly inappropriate behavior from North Bergen Police Chief Robert Farley — including disgusting pics that detail his deranged defecation habit.

One photo in the filings shows Farley executing one of his reportedly favorite pranks — standing shirtless over a subordinate’s desk and shaving his body hair so as to deliberately leave a mess.

Another nasty photo, taken by the office’s elderly cleaning woman, shows a deuce planted on the bathroom floor that was allegedly left there by Chief Farley.

The 20-year veteran of the force would also regularly poop in the upper part of the toilet and was unafraid to drop trough and take a number-two in front of staffers, something he did outside the restroom on several occasions, a filing from Lieutenant Alex Guzman alleged. There Was Nothing Wrong With This ICE Arrest in Massachusetts

Turkish national Rumeysa Ozturk had her green card revoked. The Tufts University student was detained by federal agents in Massachusetts, sparking some strong reactions on social media. Ozturk reportedly was engaging in activities in support of radical Islamic terrorism (via CBS News):

A Tufts University international graduate student was taken into custody by federal authorities in Massachusetts Tuesday evening. A spokesperson for the Department of Homeland Security said Turkish national Rumeysa Ozturk “engaged in activities in support of Hamas,” but did not provide details about her alleged activities.

A DHS spokesperson told CBS News on Wednesday that she is being held at a U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement detention center in central Louisiana.

In an email to campus, Tufts University President Sunil Kumar said Ozturk was apprehended “outside an off-campus apartment building in Somerville.”

In a follow-up letter Wednesday night, school officials also confirmed that Ozturk was being detained in Louisiana. The school disclosed that Ozturk was arrested while on her way to a Ramadan iftar dinner.

“We stand with our Muslim students, especially during their observance of Ramadan, as we recognize that Rumeysa was on her way to an Iftar gathering with friends at the Interfaith Center when she was detained,” school officials said in the letter.

Trump Pulls Stefanik Nomination To Become United Nations Ambassador

On Thursday, President Donald Trump announced that he withdrew the nomination of Rep. Elise Stefanik (R-NY) to become U.S. Ambassador to the United Nations.

Stefanik appeared for a confirmation back in January, when she called out the “anti-Semitic rot” within the United Nations, and advanced out of the Senate Foreign Relations Committee. However, she never got a vote on the Senate floor.

“As we advance our America First Agenda, it is essential that we maintain EVERY Republican Seat in Congress. We must be unified to accomplish our Mission, and Elise Stefanik has been a vital part of our efforts from the very beginning,” Trump said in a post on Truth Social. “I have asked Elise, as one of my biggest Allies, to remain in Congress to help me deliver Historic Tax Cuts, GREAT Jobs, Record Economic Growth, a Secure Border, Energy Dominance, Peace Through Strength, and much more, so we can MAKE AMERICA GREAT AGAIN.”

Trump added: “With a very tight Majority, I don’t want to take a chance on anyone else running for Elise’s seat. The people love Elise and, with her, we have nothing to worry about come Election Day. There are others that can do a good job at the United Nations. Therefore, Elise will stay in Congress, rejoin the House Leadership Team, and continue to fight for our amazing American People.
