The Criminal Alien Emergency: American Lives Matter

There seems to be a grievance group that has successfully attracted the attention of all or a portion of the political class for any perceived injustice under the sun. But why is it that nobody in the political class finds a need to act with urgency to protect American lives from violent illegal aliens? Why are American victims of violence from illegal aliens the only group that garners no attention from the media or politicians?

Yesterday, a group of families who’ve lost loved ones at the hands of illegal aliens met in Yorba Linda, California for their annual “National Remembrance Day,” an event sponsored by The Remembrance Project – the only organization that gives voice to these grieving families. While all lives cut short at the hands of murderers are “stolen lives” and represent a tragedy for those families and our nation, deaths at the hands of illegal aliens are even more egregious because they are so preventable. In fact, all too often these murders are the direct result of federal or state malfeasance, sanctuary city and sanctuary nation policies.

On Friday, the Obama Justice Department began releasing the first tranche of 6,000 felons from federal prison, which will include 2,000 criminal aliens. How many more Americans will be killed or injured as a result of this policy?

We need not speculate. Obama has already released 66,000 criminal aliens in FY 2013 and 2014. Who knows how many more he has recently released. The released illegal immigrants had a total of 166,000 convictions on their collective rap sheets: 30k DUIs, 414 kidnappings, 11,000 sex assaults, 395 homicides. At least 121 of them went on to commit more murders after being released.

According to DHS, there are an estimated 179,027 illegal aliens with criminal convictions at large in the country who have already been ordered deported. And those are just the ones ordered deported. There are an estimated 2.1 million illegal and legal immigrants convicted of crimes in this country, but 1.2 million criminal aliens remain at large in the U.S. Imagine how many more criminal aliens have never been arrested, convicted, or ordered deported?

There is no greater threat to our public safety and our sovereignty than the growing population of criminal aliens, yet Obama is continuing to encourage more illegal immigration and is refusing to deport even criminal aliens. A recently revealed report from Customs and Border Protection shows that most recent arrivals have come here under the impression that they will never be deported and will be entitled to the full array of benefits.

As an aside, this report blows up the false choice propagated by the open border crowd of mass and complete deportation vs. amnesty. If we simply enforced the laws and reasserted congressional plenary power over the harmful acts of the executive branch and the lawless courts, the incentive that invites illegal aliens would evaporate.

Meanwhile, the courts are granting illegal aliens the right to bail, even though they represent a consummate flight risk. A number of these individuals have gone on to commit more heinous crimes, including one case in which an illegal alien beat a two-year-old girl to within an inch of her life. They have tossed out state laws passed by Arizona to prevent violent aliens from being released on bail. Now they are violating congress’ plenary power over immigration and the people’s control of their own sovereignty by mandating the release of even more criminal aliens.

Where is Congress? Where is Paul Ryan? Why is this not a national emergency?

As noted last week, it’s not enough for Ryan to merely promise not to add lighter fluid to the fire by passing legislative amnesty. He must lead the fight to put out this raging fire. Yet, just today, Congressional Quarterly has published an article titled, “Obama, Ryan Speak Same Language on Criminal Justice Overhaul.” Meaning, not only won’t he fight Obama’s mass prison break, which includes a substantial number of illegal aliens, he will champion it.

In the coming weeks, look for Ryan to focus on stand-alone conservative fiscal policy, now that he has caved on all the must-pass bills which could have been used as vehicles to force some fiscal changes. Now, there is no leverage to pass these bills and we lack the bully pulpit of the presidency to promote major tax and welfare changes. But it is too much to ask that Republicans in Congress harness this 90-10 issue of criminal aliens and protect public safety from those who are prohibited from being in this country?

If conservatives don’t push for a major funding fight in December against Obama’s release of criminal aliens, more innocent Americans will die on the altar of political correctness. (For more from the author of “The Criminal Alien Emergency: American Lives Matter” please click HERE)

Leaked DHS Memo Shows Obama Might Circumvent DAPA Injunction

A newly leaked internal DHS memorandum produced for an off-the-record agency conclave reveals that the Obama administration is actively planning to circumvent a federal court injunction that suspended part of last November’s deferral-based amnesty initiative. The document, apparently prepared as follow-up from a DHS “Regulations Retreat” last summer, appears sure to re-ignite concerns in Congress as well as federal judges in the Fifth Circuit. The Administration has already been criticized from the bench for handing out work permits to hundreds of thousands of deferred action beneficiaries, in direct violation of a district court’s order. With the Fifth Circuit Court of Appeals deciding any day now whether to deny the Administration’s request to reverse that injunction, this public leak has come at a critical juncture for U.S. enforcement policy.

Last June, four months after Texas federal judge Andrew Hanen’s order to freeze President’s DAPA and Expanded DACA programs—disclosure: the Immigration Reform Law Institute has filed briefs in these cases—DHS’s immigration policy makers apparently held a “Regulations Retreat” to discuss “different options” for “open market Employment Authorization Document (EAD) regulatory changes.” EAD is the statutory term for work permits. From a memo recording these discussions, we now know that the Obama DHS has, rather than pausing to allow the courts to assess the constitutionality of its enforcement nullification initiatives, been gearing up to roll out one or more of four plans drawn up at the meeting, each one designed to provide EADs to millions of nonimmigrants, including those lawfully present and visa overstayers, crippling the actual employment-based visa system on the federal statute-book.

The internal memo reveals four options of varying expansiveness, with option 1 providing EADs to “all individuals living in the United States”, including illegal aliens, visa-overstayers, and H-1B guest-workers, while option 4 provides EADs only to those on certain unexpired non-immigrant visas. Giving EADs to any of the covered individuals, however, is in direct violation of Congress’s Immigration & Nationality Act and works to dramatically subvert our carefully wrought visa system. These 100 U.S. Cities Are Begging Obama for More Muslim Refugees

Stephanie Rawlings-Blake, mayor of Baltimore, almost gets teary eyed when she talks about the need to rebuild her city with immigrants and refugees.

It’s an issue that’s close to her heart, but the argument she uses is not new. It’s the same line that is touted by the mayors of other cities, mostly in the Rust Belt, like Baltimore, Minneapolis, Detroit and Pittsburgh.

They crave a steady flow of new immigrants and refugees, they say, because their economies depend on it. Too many of the native-born middle class whites have long since departed for the suburbs . . .

In fact, a coalition of 100 immigrant-supporting cities seem to be in competition with each other to see which city can offer the most services and benefits to attract foreign-born residents . . .

So it’s no surprise that Rawlings-Blake is one of the 100 U.S. mayors asking the Obama administration to send her city a fresh wave of Syrian refugees. She is one of 18 mayors who have written a letter to the administration expressing their desire for more refugees. The 18 mayors who signed the letter represent a total of 100 mayors with Cities United for Immigration Action. In Restart, This Is Who Jeb Bush Blames for His Campaign Fail

The Jeb Bush who snarked at Marco Rubio in last week’s Boulder debate and the Jeb Bush who attempted to restart his campaign with a new attitude in Tampa Monday were two different men. One jabbed at a friend-turned-rival — “What is it, like, a French work week?” — while the other pledged a higher road: “I will be true to myself — optimistic and inclusive.”

In Tampa, seeking to re-boot a deeply troubled campaign, Bush pledged to be himself. “I can’t be something I’m not,” Bush told the crowd, saying it was a lesson he had learned during his years as Florida’s governor.

Bush went on to suggest that he has been over-coached and over-advised in recent weeks — and to concede, without saying so, that perhaps he has listened to too much of that advice.

He did it in a roundabout way. Discussing Abraham Lincoln as a president who “held the nation’s highest office with humility,” Bush envisioned Lincoln running for office in today’s political circus.

“Imagine the foolishness he would have to suffer,” Bush said. “Think about it. Advisers telling him to shave his beard. Cable pundits telling him to lose the top hat. Opposition researchers calling him a five-time loser before he was 50.” (Read more from “In Restart, This Is Who Jeb Bush Blames for His Campaign Fail” HERE)

Idaho Rancher Shot and Killed by Deputies

Idaho State Police are investigating after a Council rancher was shot and killed Sunday by deputies with the Adams County Sheriff’s Office.

The incident began when a Subaru station wagon crashed into a bull on US 95 north of Council at about 6:45 p.m. Emergency responders and Adams County deputies responded and were working to extricate the two people inside the car. Adams County Sheriff Ryan Zollman said the bull, which was injured in the collision, started charging at emergency responders and other vehicles.

“The bull was very agitated and was aggressive to emergency services, as well as the other cars coming up and down the highway,” he said.

Deputies were getting ready to put the animal down when the bull’s owner, 62-year-old Jack Yantis, arrived on the scene with a rifle. Zollman said dispatchers had called Yantis after the crash, telling him that the bull that was hit appeared to be his, and was down on the highway near his house.

What happened next is still under investigation, but Zollman said there was an altercation and Yantis and both deputies all fired their weapons. (Read more from “Idaho Rancher Shot and Killed by Deputies” HERE)

After GOP Debate Debacle, Candidates Are Clamoring for a Stunning Name as Moderator

According to an official for a Republican presidential campaign, there will be a conference call on Friday night to discuss the Republican National Committee’s future role in the party’s presidential debates.

Other possible moderators for the upcoming debates will be discussed.

One name that is being floated at this point is prominent conservative Glenn Beck.

The official spoke to TheBlaze about Beck, saying: “Right now, I know that his name is being mentioned.”

He also said that officials from at least three campaigns–Donald Trump, Senator Ted Cruz, and Governor Jim Gilmore–would probably support Beck in becoming a debate moderator . . .

Earlier today, Republican National Committee chairman Reince Preibus sent NBC Chairman Andrew Lack an open letter in which he said that NBC would no longer be a moderator in future Republican presidential debates. Police: Concealed Carry License Holder Kills Armed Gunman

An armed man attempting to rob a neighborhood store was shot and killed by a customer who had a concealed carry license, Chicago police said Sunday.

A masked man, later identified as 55-year-old Reginald Gildersleeve, walked into the store and currency exchange about 7 p.m. Saturday on the city’s southwest side, displayed a handgun and announced a robbery to an employee, police spokesman Anthony Guglielmi said. The gunman next pointed his weapon at another employee and forced her to the back of the store.

The armed customer then fatally shot the man multiple times, according to the Chicago Sun-Times. Gildersleeve was pronounced dead on the scene at 7:10 p.m., according to police and the Cook County medical examiner’s office. He had an extensive criminal history, including prior arrests for robbery, the Sun-Times reported. Gildersleeve was set to have an autopsy performed on Sunday, according to the Chicago Tribune.

It wasn’t immediately clear whether the customer, who has not been identified, will face charges. Guglielmi said the case is under review by local prosecutors, but the preliminary details suggest that the customer was not at fault. For First Time, Most Democrats View Insane, Failed, Murderous Political Philosophy Favorably

Over at Rasmussen, the pollsters have discovered that — for the first time in history — self-identified members of the Democrat Party now view socialism favorably.

The man currently running a distant second for the Democratic presidential nomination, Vermont Senator Bernie Sanders, is a self-declared socialist, and most of his party’s voters now have a positive view of socialism. They are almost evenly divided as to whether they like capitalism or socialism more.

Socialism, Communism, Maoism, and National Socialism (e.g., the Nazi Party) are all offshoots of Marxism. They are all branches of the same defective tree.

Marxism has failed in literally every venue it has been tried, despite progressives’ laughable efforts to claim certain countries have implemented it successfully.

No country has and no country ever will, because — as Margaret Thatcher sagely observed — “[the] problem with socialism is that eventually you run out of other people’s money”.

And those who point to the “success” of European countries that still maintain the semblance of civil societies have yet to see the Marxist endgame play out:

• All of these states have rung up immense and unsustainable levels of debt thanks to the socialists’ endless wealth redistribution schemes. Only a series of elaborate can-kicking exercises have kept the European Union from economic collapse.

• Thanks to open borders policies, courtesy of Left-leaning do-gooders, Europe faces demographic upheaval, seen most recently in countries accepting swarms of Islamic immigrants.

Where “Marxism Light” — socialism — gave way to its more extreme flavors (e.g., Communism, Nazism, Maoism) the inevitable result was mass murder by government.

According to a study conducted by academics at the University of Hawaii, Communism in the 20th century alone led to the murders of 110 million men, women and children.

Isn’t it ironic? When it comes to their own ideologies like climate change, progressives like to shut off debate by claiming that “The science is settled.”

In this case, the record of history is settled. Marxism and it descendents have failed in every situation and in very region across the world.

That the majority of Democrats could embrace such a twisted political philosophy is an indictment of not only our media, but also our failed, union-controlled educational system.

They can’t or won’t appreciate the intricate system of government created by our Framers that inarguably built the most magnificent economic miracle in human history. They live in the lap of luxury, unappreciative and stupefied, unable to explain how even the lowly pencil is made in our society. Former U.S. Senator, GOP Presidential Candidate Dies at 73

Fred Thompson, a former U.S. senator from Tennessee, GOP presidential candidate, Watergate attorney and actor who starred on the television drama “Law and Order,” died on Sunday in Nashville. He was 73.

Mr. Thompson died after a recurrence of lymphoma, according to a prepared statement issued by the Thompson family. Mr Thompson, who had recently purchased a house in Nashville to return to Tennessee, was first diagnosed with cancer in 2004.

“It is with a heavy heart and a deep sense of grief that we share the passing of our brother, husband, father, and grandfather who died peacefully in Nashville surrounded by his family,” the Thompson family’s statement reads.

“Fred once said that the experiences he had growing up in small-town Tennessee formed the prism through which he viewed the world and shaped the way he dealt with life,” his family said. “Fred stood on principle and common sense, and had a deep love for and connection with the people across Tennessee whom he had the privilege to serve in the United States Senate. He enjoyed a hearty laugh, a strong handshake, a good cigar, and a healthy dose of humility. Fred was the same man on the floor of the Senate, the movie studio, or the town square of Lawrenceburg, his home” . . .

Standing at least 6 feet, 5 inches with a booming voice, Mr. Thompson and his larger-than-life persona played a role in several key moments that shaped the U.S. and Tennessee political landscape. (Read more from “Former U.S. Senator, GOP Presidential Candidate Dies at 73” HERE)

Poll: Clinton Hits 50 Percent Support

Hillary Clinton has hit 50 percent support for the Democratic presidential nomination for the first time since April, around the time she launched her campaign, according to a new national poll.

Clinton’s support among Democratic and Democratic-leaning voters has ticked up 9 points since mid-September, based on the latest NBC News/Survey Monkey online poll.

Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-Vt.), Clinton’s primary rival in the Democratic race, now stands at 30 percent support in the poll, relatively unchanged over the past six weeks.

Former Maryland Gov. Martin O’Malley and Harvard Professor Lawrence Lessig took 1 percent apiece in the online poll released Friday.

The survey, conducted on Tuesday and Wednesday, comes on the heels of Vice President Biden’s decision last week to not run for the White House in 2016. (Read more from “Poll: Clinton Hits 50 Percent Support” HERE)
