Here Is the First State to Legalize the Use of Armed Drones by Police

web-drone-gettyArmed drones could be used by police in the US state of North Dakota after local lawmakers legalized their use.

While they will be limited to “less than lethal” weapons, tear gas, tasers, rubber bullets and pepper spray could all be used in theory by the remote controlled flying machines.

In a classic case of unintended consequences, the original sponsor, Republican state representative Rick Becker said he was unhappy with the way legislation turned out.

His original intention was to prevent law enforcement officials from using the unmanned aerial vehicles from conducting surveillance on private property without a warrant . . .

The original draft of the House Bill 1328 said: “A state agency may not authorize the use of, including granting a permit to use, an unmanned aircraft armed with any lethal or non-lethal weapons, including firearms, pepper spray, bean bag guns, mace, and sound-based weapons.” (Read more from “Here Is the First State to Legalize the Use of Armed Drones by Police” HERE)

Kentucky Clerk Kim Davis Released From Jail

gty_county_clerk_kentucky_02_jc_150902_16x9_992Rowan County Clerk Kim Davis is to be released from jail in Grayson, Kentucky, a judge ordered today, nearly a week after Davis was jailed for refusing a judge’s order to issue marriage licenses, including to same-sex couples.

“After remanding Defendant Davis to the custody of the U.S. Marshal, five of her six deputy clerks stated under oath that they would comply with the Court’s Order and issue marriage licenses to all legally eligible couples,” an order issued by U.S. District Judge David Bunning said.

“On September 8, 2015, Plaintiffs filed a Status Report at the Court’s behest. According to the Report, Plaintiffs have obtained marriage licenses from the Rowan County Clerk’s Office,” the order noted. “The Court is therefore satisfied that the clerk’s office is fulfilling its obligation to issue marriage licenses to all legally eligible couples.”

Over the weekend, Liberty Counsel, which represents Davis, filed an appeal of Bunning’s contempt order with the Sixth Circuit Court of Appeals. Today, Liberty Counsel filed an emergency motion to have Davis released from jail.

“She can never recover the past six days of her life spent in an isolated jail cell, where she was incarcerated like a common criminal because of her conscience and religious convictions,” Davis’ attorney, Mat Staver, said in a statement today. “She is now free to return to her family, her coworkers and the office where she has faithfully served for the past 27 years. Impending US Disaster Will Make Katrina Look Like Disney World

Katrina-14588An emergency preparedness and security expert, Manny Edwards, is making the case that the United States is headed for a disaster, far worse than Katrina. Mr. Edwards warns that the “next time it happens, it will make Katrina look like Disney World.”

What’s his evidence that the nation is headed for catastrophe? How Americans have changed and government dependency has increased in the last decade.

Mr. Edwards specifically contends that dependency on government has made most Americans helpless in the face of disasters, and much more willing to do whatever the feds demand – including the surrender of firearms – because they’ll know of no other way to survive:

“The reality is that our society is fundamentally uncivilized, and events like Katrina bring it to our immediate attention. Government welfare programs, Social Security, and ‘emergency management’ agencies like FEMA actually have a destructive effect on civilization. If you can just get a check from the government, why would you need to invest in your relationship with your neighbor? If you believe that FEMA will relieve you after a hurricane, why waste time building up interdependence with your neighbor?”

The emergency preparedness expert puts the blame directly on the big government statists for the impending disaster:

“There’s much you can do to help yourself and your neighbor in a crisis, but there’s very little, maybe nothing, you can do to repair the damage done by decades of depraved government. The people have been fettered. They are not allowed to judge, because the state has a monopoly of judicial administration. They have little incentive to build up their community, because their rights and goods are dispensed from far away in Washington. Even if they want to get away from corrupt government, they aren’t allowed to; the state exploits them like cattle and will not let them out of the fences.”

Council on American-Islamic Relations Joins Black Lives Matter Movement [+video]

As Michelle Moons reported, CAIR leaders and members joined Black Lives Matter in a march on the California State Capitol on Wednesday, targeting Gov. Jerry Brown’s office over a new bill that, in part, would expand bans on racial profiling to include perceived ethnicity.

As police officers are being targeted across the nation, CAIR has sided with their enemies.

That creates a serious problem for CAIR’s defenders, which argue that its associations with Islamic extremism can be overlooked because it helps law enforcement work with, and within, the Muslim community.

By supporting the Black Lives Matter movement, which has contributed to an atmosphere of violent incitement and hatred against police officers across the nation, CAIR has shown what its true feelings about American law enforcement really are. Black Supremacist: ‘It’s Open Season On Killing White People and Cops’

Kentucky Clerk Remains Behind Bars After 6 Days, Appeals Judge’s Order

150902_POL_KimDavis.jpg.CROP.promo-xlarge2As supporters of jailed Kentucky clerk Kim Davis prepared for a Tuesday rally featuring Republican presidential candidate Mike Huckabee, Davis remained in jail, even as her attorneys spent the holiday weekend fighting a judge’s order that sent her there.

Davis is the Kentucky county clerk who has refused to issue marriage licenses to same-sex couples. A new appeal, filed Monday with the federal appeals court in Cincinnati, came four days after the Rowan County clerk was held in contempt of court for defying a U.S. Supreme Court ruling that legalizes gay marriage. Davis cited her religious beliefs in her refusal to issue the licenses.

Davis’ attorneys asked Kentucky Gov. Steven Beshear to accommodate her “religious conviction” and have her freed from jail.

“Today is a holiday where most people are spending time with family and friends,” said attorney Mat Staver of Liberty Counsel. “But for Kim Davis this is day five of her incarceration. While she is content no matter her circumstances because of her deep faith and Jesus, she should be free.”

Staver’s motion asks for an exemption from the governor’s mandate that all county clerks issue marriage licenses, even to same-sex couples. “Coercing Mrs. Davis to authorize and personally approve same-sex marriage in violation of her religious convictions and conscience is wrong,” Staver said. Green Energy Execs Praised by Clinton Foundation Indicted for $54M Ponzi Scheme

Bill ClintonExecutives of a Pennsylvania green energy company singled out for praise by Bill Clinton were arrested on fraud charges on Thursday in connection with an alleged Ponzi scheme.

The individuals are facing charges of wire fraud, securities fraud, and conspiracy over their roles in running a green energy company that authorities say was an elaborate $54 million Ponzi scheme, the Associated Press reported.

Prosecutors said the trio lied to investors that their “biochar” technology and “carbon-negative” housing in Tennessee made millions, but they had almost no earnings and used the money to repay earlier investors and for themselves.

The scam allegedly ran from 2005 until 2009, even after the Securities and Exchange Commission filed a civil lawsuit against Wragg and Knorr’s Mantria Corp. They were ordered in 2012 to pay $37 million each. […]

Cop Union Boycotted Obama Speech in Boston

As he speaks this morning at a Labor Day breakfast in Boston, President Obama is being boycotted by police unions. Jack Encanacao writes in the Boston Herald:

Jerry Flynn, a Lowell cop on leave while serving as executive director of the New England Police Benevolent Association, said his organization’s executive board has chosen to boycott President Obama’s Labor Day breakfast address in Boston today to make a statement about violence against police:

“Our members are enraged at his lack of support of law enforcement. It’s clear that he has an agenda, and unfortunately the police are not part of his agenda.

Let’s face it, (there have been) eight people killed in a nine-day period, eight police officers, and his silence up until recently has been deafening. And the real sad part of this — and when I went to the White House in the first term with (Vice President) Joe Biden — he said to me that he would be the voice of law enforcement. Well, as much as I love and adore Joe, his voice has been silent as well. So it’s not an Obama problem, it’s an administration problem.

Warning for CO Police After Threat, Shots Fired

By Whitney Wild. A threatening call followed by shots fired toward police in Aurora Sunday prompted a safety advisement for officers in Colorado.

According to a warning sent to law enforcement Monday, a caller contacted Aurora 911 dispatch around 5:45 p.m Sunday via a disconnected Cricket cell phone. The male caller sounded as if he was attempting to disguise his voice, or was possibly using a recording, the warning said.

The call lasted 37 seconds, and the caller reportedly said “It’s time you guys know that we are no longer playing around with the police departments. Aurora and Denver we are about to start striking fear, shooting down all cops that we see by their selves.”

The caller went on to say, “You guys are evicting innocent people. Let us catch you by yourself and it’s shots fired.”

Approximately four hours later, Aurora police officers “were fired upon while responding to a call,” the warning said. It is unclear if the shooting was an ambush situation. (Read more from “Warning for CO Police After Threat, Shots Fired” HERE)

Air Force Wants Owners to Give up Property Near Secret Area 51

HIGHWAY51907The U.S. Air Force is giving an ultimatum to owners of a remote Nevada property that over time has been surrounded by a vast bombing range including the super-secret Area 51.

They’re being told to take a $5.2 million “last best offer” for their property by Thursday — or the government will seize it through condemnation.

The owners include descendants of a couple who lost their hardscrabble mining enterprise after the Air Force moved in in the 1940s. Nuclear tests then began in 1951, their mine mill mysteriously exploded in 1954 and they ran out of money to seek reparations from the government in 1959. Poll: Trump Beats This Presidential Candidate Head-To-Head; Receives 25% of Black Vote in General Election Match-up

trump-e1441585424624-400x255By Elliot Smilowitz. Republican presidential front-runner Donald Trump leads Democrat Hillary Clinton head-to-head, according to a new poll released Friday.

The poll by SurveyUSA finds that matched up directly, Trump garners 45 percent to Clinton’s 40 percent.

In other head-to-head matchups, Trump beats out Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-Vt.) by 44 percent to 40 percent; Vice President Joe Biden by 44 percent to 42 percent; and former Vice President Al Gore by 44 percent to 41 percent.

Trump’s surge past Clinton marks a dramatic turnaround in the polls.

A CNN/ORC sampling of national voters in late June — just days after Trump entered the race — found that 59 percent supported Clinton to 34 percent picking Trump in a head-to-head race. (Read more from “Poll: Trump Beats This Presidential Candidate Head-To-Head” HERE)

Trump Receives 25% of Black Vote in General Election Match-up

By Kyle Olson. For all the talk about Donald Trump allegedly driving minorities away from the Republican Party, could he actually bring people in?

A SurveyUSA poll released Friday shows in a hypothetical matchup with Hillary Clinton, Trump is ahead 45% to 40%.

But digging into the racial breakdown of the respondents is revealing. For example, the poll finds 25% of black respondents say they would vote for Trump over Clinton.

How impressive is that? Let’s look at the last several presidential results for Republicans.

When President Obama was running for re-election, despite a sputtering economy that was impacting blacks the worst, Mitt Romney was able to only muster 6% of the black vote, according to the Roper Center at the University of Connecticut. (Read more from this story HERE)

Some Texas Counties Are Making a Bold Move That Has the Mexican Gov’t Furious

shutterstock_310715399-913x512As outspoken Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump continues to lead the charge for a swift and decisive response to America’s illegal immigration problem, some Texas officials are trying to take one aspect of that issue into their own hands.

Reports indicate several county registrars across the state have been refusing to accept identification cards issued by the Mexican Consulate, noting the inherent unreliability of such documentation.

According to the Texas Tribune, the Mexican government filed an amicus brief last week on behalf of several illegal immigrant families who claim their children were unfairly denied a birth certificate. The Texas Department of State Health Services was named in an associated lawsuit after reportedly telling states that were accepting the identification cards – known as matricula – to stop.

Two Texas civil rights groups filed the suit, which has since been revised to include additional families and a third activist organization. The children represented in the suit, lawyers claim, have had their constitutional rights violated. Jennifer Harbury, a lawyer representing the Mexican families, asserted that state officials “have to take something” when presented with ostensibly valid identification.
