Notorious January 6 Defendant Confronted by Ashli Babbitt Pleads With Judge After Conviction

One of the most active and visible rioters at the U.S. Capitol on Jan. 6, who smashed windows and taunted police in the lobby where Ashli Babbitt was fatally shot, is asking a federal judge to sentence him to time served so he can get mental health treatment and not risk “further radicalization” in the federal prison system.

Zachary Jordan Alam asked U.S. District Judge Dabney L. Friedrich to depart downward from federal sentencing guidelines and order him to serve no more than 40 months in prison for his conviction on six felony and three misdemeanor charges. Alam has been in custody for 45 months.

Prosecutors recommend Judge Friedrich depart upward from guidelines and sentence Alam, 33, of Centreville, Virginia, to more than 11 years in prison at his Oct. 16 sentencing hearing in Washington, D.C.

Alam’s sentencing has been repeatedly delayed since a jury found him guilty of 10 charges on Sept. 12, 2023. The most recent delays were caused by new information from Alam’s mother on his history of family trouble and mental instability — including a suicide attempt while he was in medical school in 2015.

Alam’s Aug. 14 supplemental sentencing memo was heavily redacted and filed partly under court seal. Too ‘Religious’: State Under Fire for Discriminating Against Christians

A state has taken upon itself to determine whether colleges, and college programs, are too “religious,” and if so, prevent students there from participating in a statewide program that offers financial help. . .

The Christian law firm Alliance Defending Freedom has gone to court with a civil rights complaint challenging the practice in the state of Georgia for officials to determine the religiosity of a school, and then ban its students from a statewide financial aid plan.

“By unlawfully discriminating against Luther Rice’s religious beliefs, Georgia officials are ultimately hurting the state’s students,” explained lawyer Ryan Tucker, of the ADF.

“Georgia high school students can’t receive dual credit by taking classes at Luther Rice; college students who choose Luther Rice are denied much-needed financial aid available to students at other colleges. On behalf of all Georgia’s students, we are urging the court to uphold Luther Rice’s constitutional protections by guaranteeing that the school can fully participate in student aid programs while still adhering to its religious beliefs, character, and exercise.”

The school, in Atlanta, is a private, Christian nonprofit that offers undergraduate, graduate, and doctoral-level degree programs. It offers three undergraduate degree programs: an Associate of Arts in General Studies, a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology, and a Bachelor of Arts in Religion. Survey Uncovers the Single Group in America That Would Push Transgenderism on Children

. . .Members of “every race, sex, age, ethnicity, income, region, educational status, and political viewpoint” agree: that the administration of transgender-pushing chemicals and bodily mutilations on minors should be banned.

[But the] party of Kamala Harris, Tim Walz [and] Joe Biden [continues to] push to impose such ideological agendas on those too young to defend themselves.

The Washington Stand reported, “If the government passed a bill banning pediatric gender clinics from inflicting so-called ‘gender-affirming care’ on everyone under 18, every demographic group in the United States would favor it – except registered Democrats.” . . .

Kamala Harris Accused of Plagiarizing in 2009 Book About Being ‘Smart on Crime’

Vice President Harris is being accused of plagiarizing from several sources in her 2009 book on policing that was released while she was district attorney of San Francisco.

The book, “Smart on Crime: A Career Prosecutor’s Plan to Make Us Safer,” was co-authored with Joan O’C Hamilton.

The so-called “plagiarism hunter,” Austrian professor Stefan Weber, found 27 times that Harris, the 2024 Democrat nominee for president, and her co-author allegedly committed some form of plagiarism.

He found that “24 fragments are plagiarism from other authors, [and] 3 fragments are self-plagiarism from a work written with a co-author.”

Manhattan Institute senior fellow and conservative activist Chris Rufo first reported on the allegation on Monday, pointing to multiple examples from Harris’ book in which entire sentences and phrases were apparently lifted from other sources without the use of quotations, though in some cases a footnote cites the source. Maricopa Elections Chief Enlisted Foreign Censorship Group in War on Disapproved Speech

Maricopa County Recorder Steven Richer turned to the left-leaning States United Democracy Center and an overseas group bankrolled by the State Department to help his office target election speech that’s disapproved of by the government, according to emails obtained by The Federalist.

Richer thanked States United for offering to let his office “piggy back” on the group’s anti-speech operations, which he described as “deep scanning” the internet for “disinformation,” a term often invoked to censor speech the government disagrees with. States United is a left-wing election law group that consistently opposes Republican election integrity legislation like voter ID laws and supports Democrat attempts to diminish election security, according to InfluenceWatch. The group has praised the weaponization of the justice system against Trump, and was described by The New York Times as part of a “coalition” preparing to “push back” against a potential Trump victory with “extraordinary pre-emptive actions.”

According to email records, States United set up a call with Richer’s staff and the global censorship group, Institute for Strategic Dialogue (ISD). ISD is a London group that has been accused of wrongly labeling “mainstream views” as “misinformation” and subsequently censoring conservative opinions online, according to InfluenceWatch. The group was the recipient of a 2021 grant sponsored by the State Department’s Global Engagement Center, which “fund[s] the development of censorship tools,” as The Federalist’s Margot Cleveland has reported. The ISD works with governments, leftist 501(c)(3) groups, and Big Tech companies as well as some of the left’s biggest financial backers.

Richer later suggested Arizona State University officials should fire Faculty Associate Aaron Ludwig for retweeting election concerns, apparently looping States United in on the process. . .

“Thanks very much to States United for the kind offer to let us piggy back on some of the deep scanning you’re contracting for election threats and disinformation,” Richer emailed then-States United Senior Counsel Bo Dul on June 17, 2022. Richer indicated his office and “some … partners at the county” do some of this work already, but that he would “love to fill any holes” with the offer from States United. The New York Times Gaslights About Political Prosecutions

The New York Times published a 5,000-word article asserting that Donald Trump is a unique threat to democracy because a second term Trump Department of Justice could potentially prosecute members of the Democrat Party.

Authors Emily Bazelon and Mattathias Schwartz make this argument not only after a first Trump term with zero political prosecutions by Trump appointees but after a shocking and unprecedented nationwide lawfare campaign by Democrats against Trump and other Republicans.

The Times headline is “Why Legal Experts Are Worried About a Second Trump Presidency.” The subhed added, “In a survey of 50 members of the D.C. legal establishment, many warn that Trump could follow through on his threats to prosecute his political adversaries.” The term “gaslighting” has gained popularity in recent years, a reference to the 1944 movie “Gaslight” about a husband who manipulates his wife into thinking she is insane. Even in a sea of media manipulation, there is perhaps no better example of gaslighting than this piece.

The article begins with an unsubstantiated claim that Trump seeks to engage in political prosecutions. The only quote offered in support of this claim is Trump saying people who violate federal election laws will be prosecuted and sentenced. They inaccurately characterize this as “Donald Trump could not be clearer about his plans to use the Justice Department to seek revenge against his enemies.”

The opening paragraph also references Trump supporters chanting “Lock Her Up!” of Hillary Clinton, who had gotten away with setting up a secret server to mishandle classified information. Left unsaid by the New York Times is that Trump didn’t go after Clinton during his time in office, saying it would be “divisive” to pursue political opponents. The New York Times also doesn’t mention that the Democrat National Convention featured chants of “Lock Him Up!” when Hillary Clinton spoke. Harris Tells Black Men Trump Is ‘Weak’

Vice President Kamala Harris‘s live radio town hall with Charlamagne tha God of The Breakfast Club featured a wide-ranging conversation about the Democratic nominee’s efforts to shore up support among black men.

The event, filmed in Detroit, Michigan, one of the “blue wall” states that Harris must win to secure victory on Nov. 5, featured multiple questions from black men who questioned the vice president on her record serving under President Joe Biden and before as the junior California senator.

Black male voters are the second most loyal voting block for Democrats behind black women. But former President Donald Trump’s overtures to black men and some polling showing black male support for Harris is behind Biden’s 2020 support have worried some Democrats with just three weeks until the election. . .

When discussing the Jan. 6 Capitol riot and the fallout, Harris branded Trump as “weak” and “unfit” to serve another term as president.

“One of the things that I think is really ironic, but at play, Donald Trump, through his way of trying to name call and demean and divide, tries to project as though those things are a sign of strength, when in fact, the man is really quite weak,” said Harris. “He’s weak. Biden’s Latest Betrayal is ‘Deeply Disturbing’

President Joe Biden’s administration is threatening the Israeli government with a full arms embargo if they don’t “improve” the humanitarian situation — sparked by Hamas’ decision to start a war on October 7 — in the Gaza Strip within 30-days.

In a letter sent to a number of Israeli ministers Monday, Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin and Secretary of State Antony Blinken made the demand.

The letter conveniently ignores that the majority of humanitarian aid delivered to Gaza, including by the United States through air drops and a disastrous, now defunct pier, is stolen by Iranian backed Hamas.

‘Yacht Killer’ Inmate Got Taxpayer-Funded Sex-Change With Kamala Harris’ Blessing: Report

A transgender [“woman”] convicted of killing a couple to try to get money for [his] sex change ended up having the procedure covered by California taxpayers — thanks to radical policies backed by VP Kamala Harris.

The notorious so-called “Yacht Killer” — who was born John Jacobson Jr. and now goes by Skylar Deleon — is currently serving life without parole after initially being sentenced to death for the slaying of Thomas Hawks, 57, and his wife Jackie, 47, in 2004.

Deleon, 45, duped the couple into letting them and several associates board their 55-foot yacht and take them out on it after feigning interest in purchasing the vessel.

While out at sea somewhere between Newport Harbor and Santa Catalina, Deleon used a stun gun to incapacitate the couple and forced them to give up their bank-account information and sign over the boat’s title — before tying them to the anchor and tossing it overboard.

Last year, nearly two decades after the murders, the killer finally got a sex-change operation — courtesy of California taxpayers. [He] is now waiting to be transferred to a women’s prison. JD Vance Has an Even Stronger Case for a Rigged 2020 Election in the Number of Illegal Ballots

The legacy media continues to push Sen. J.D. Vance to say Donald Trump lost the 2020 election, with Martha Raddatz on Sunday’s “This Week” being the latest in a string of interviewers pressing the vice-presidential candidate on that question. While Vance responded as before, that “of course Donald Trump and I believe there were problems in 2020,” the full exchange revealed that the fundamental flaw is in the question — not Vance’s answer.

For a full two minutes during yesterday’s interview, Raddatz demanded Vance say Trump lost the 2020 election. “Why won’t you say that?” she asked, to which Vance replied: “Because, Martha, I believe that in 2020, when Big Tech were censoring American citizens, that created very serious problems.”

“I don’t understand why you won’t just say that you believe it?” Raddatz retorted. “Did Donald Trump lose? That’s the question, and you know that’s the question.”

It was here that an exasperated Vance made his point clear: “Martha, I’ve said repeatedly I think the 2020 election had problems, you want to say ‘rigged,’ you want to say, ‘he won,’ use whatever vocabulary term you want.” What happened, Vance stressed, was the “censoring of fellow citizens in a way that ‘violated our fundamental rights,’” and that was a bigger problem, Vance explained, than what words he used to frame the issue.

This exchange proves key to understanding why Vance refuses to say, “Donald Trump lost the 2020 election,” and why the liberal press continues to demand an answer to that question.
