Flight Plunged to 775 Feet Above Ocean Soon After Takeoff, Data Reveals

A United Airlines flight nearly dropped into the Pacific Ocean after taking off from a Maui airport in December 2022, according to flight data.

A Boeing 777-200, after climbing to 2,200 feet, suddenly plunged to just 775 feet above the Pacific Ocean, according to FlightRadar24, a flight tracking website. The incident occurred around a minute after United Airlines Flight UA 1722 departed from Kahului Airport in Maui and began heading toward San Francisco International Airport on Dec. 18.

The plane left Maui just before 3 p.m. and there was stormy weather at the time of takeoff, The Air Current reported. The aircraft’s climb appeared ordinary and safe before it suddenly dropped. The plane began dropping at a descent rate of nearly 8,600 feet per minute, according to the flight data. Elon Musk Hit Back at Ex-NASA Astronaut, Saying SpaceX’s Starlink Should Not Be Used to Help Fight the War in Ukraine

Elon Musk on Sunday lashed out at a former NASA astronaut Scott Kelly over the use of Starlink in Ukraine during the war with Russia.

SpaceX said in recent weeks that Ukraine can’t use its Starlink internet service for military purposes, such as to pilot drones, and has taken steps to prevent this, per Reuters.

Kelly tagged Musk in a tweet on Saturday, asking him to “restore the full functionality” of SpaceX’s Starlink internet satellites in Ukraine. Although SpaceX has limited Ukraine’s ability to use Starlink for military purposes, the service is still accessible for commercial use.

“Defense from a genocidal invasion is not an offensive capability. It’s survival. Innocent lives will be lost. You can help,” Kelly tweeted.

Musk told Kelly he was smart enough to “not swallow media & other propaganda bs.” He called Starlink the “communication backbone” of Ukraine, something he has said before. “But we will not enable escalation of conflict that may lead to WW3,” Musk tweeted. U.S. Reveals Extent of Chinese Spy Balloon Program, Says It’s ‘False’ That U.S. Does the Same to China

The U.S. disputed accusations from China on Monday after the communist nation claimed that the U.S. operates spy balloons over its country.

China’s allegation comes after the U.S. shot down a suspected Chinese spy balloon on February 4 off the coast of South Carolina and has since downed unidentified objects over Alaska, Canada, and Lake Huron over the weekend.

“It is also common for U.S. balloons to illegally enter the airspace of other countries,” Foreign Ministry spokesperson Wang Wenbin claimed. “Since last year, U.S. high-altitude balloons have illegally flown over China’s airspace more than 10 times without the approval of Chinese authorities.”

The Associated Press noted that Wang offered no details to substantiate his accusations and would not say how the alleged incursions happened or if they were connected to the U.S. government.

National Security Council spokesperson Adrienne Watson said that the communist nation’s claims were a lie and that China was trying to deflect from the embarrassing situation they have caused. Jill Biden Earns Fitting New Nickname After Eagles Lose Super Bowl

Though both President Joe Biden and First Lady Jill Biden are said to be big fans of Philadelphia sports teams, it is usually only the Mrs. we see front and center attending home games.

She went to at least two Philadelphia Eagles games this season, including when the Eagles played (and defeated) Dallas in October, where we saw her get mercilessly booed by Eagles fans in the midst of her her stint as “honorary captain” for the coin toss:

. . .So naturally, Mrs. Biden was going to weigh in with her support for the Eagles on Super Bowl Sunday, tweeting this video of her wearing an Eagles jersey with the name “Biden” and the number “46”:

The Eagles going down in defeat had some only half-jokingly blaming Jill Biden for what happened, calling it what’s become known as the “Jill Biden curse”:

Biden Administration Issues New Security Warning About Russia

As questions grow about U.S. national security here at home, the Biden administration is warning Americans of deteriorating conditions in Russia with a new travel advisory issued Sunday in which the State Department did not mince words about the dangers facing U.S. citizens at the hand of Putin’s government.

Citing “unpredictable consequences of the unprovoked full-scale invasion of Ukraine by Russian military forces, the potential for harassment and the singling out of U.S. citizens for detention by Russian government security officials, the arbitrary enforcement of local law, limited flights into and out of Russia, the Embassy’s limited ability to assist U.S. citizens in Russia, and the possibility of terrorism,” the U.S. Mission Russia warned Americans to cancel any plans to travel to the country.

What’s more, the State Department warning says that U.S. citizens already residing or traveling in Russia “should depart immediately” and “exercise increased caution due to the risk of wrongful intentions.” If Americans encounter any issues in Russia, the Biden administration warns it’s unlikely to be able to do anything, especially for Americans who aren’t near the main U.S. outpost in Moscow:

The U.S. government’s ability to provide routine or emergency services to U.S. citizens in Russia is severely limited, particularly in areas far from the U.S. Embassy in Moscow, due to Russian government limitations on travel for embassy personnel and staffing, and the ongoing suspension of operations, including consular services, at U.S. consulates.

Veteran QB Retires on Top With Super Bowl Win

Chad Henne threw in the towel on Sunday night, replacing it with a Bud Light.

On the heels of winning Super Bowl 2023 — his second with the Chiefs — the veteran quarterback announced his retirement on Instagram.

“Calling it a career,” he wrote. “Capping it off with @budlight and another ring!”

Not that it came without some drama.

Henne, 37, warmed up on the sideline at State Farm Stadium in Glendale, Ariz. after starter Patrick Mahomes appeared to aggravate his injured ankle late in the first half. Some Henne heroics weren’t required, though, as Mahomes didn’t miss a snap and finished Kansas City’s 38-35 win over the Eagles. (Read more from “Veteran QB Retires on Top With Super Bowl Win” HERE)

Squad Hate: AOC Attacks Pro-Christian Super Bowl Ads as ‘Fascist’

Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY) said Sunday she did not believe Jesus would support pro-Christian Super Bowl commercials because they make fascism “look benign.”

The Christian group “He Gets Us” spent some $20 million on two advertisements that aired during Sunday’s Super Bowl portraying Jesus Christ as loving “the people we hate.” . . .

One of the ads shows scene after scene of angry people in each other’s faces and ends with the caption “Jesus loved the people we hate. He gets us. All of us.”

It is unclear where Ms. Ocasio-Cortez sees the hidden “fascism” lurking behind these ads, designed to help overcome divisions and hatred in the name of Jesus. (Read more from “Squad Hate: AOC Attacks Pro-Christian Super Bowl Ads as ‘Fascist’” HERE)

U.S. Military Unable to Find Alleged Object That Caused FAA to Close Airspace in Montana

The North American Aerospace Defense Command (NORAD) and the U.S. Northern Command released a statement late on Saturday night about a supposed unidentified object that they identified over Montana, saying that fighter jets were not able to locate the object.

“NORAD detected a radar anomaly and sent fighter aircraft to investigate,” that statement said. “Those aircraft did not identify any object to correlate to the radar hits. NORAD will continue to monitor the situation.”

The statement came after the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) sent a notice to airmen (NOTAM) late Saturday night warning that it had designated an area in the northern part of Montana as a “national defense airspace” and that anyone who entered the airspace would be intercepted. Forget Stoves! There’s a Growing Movement to Ban New Homes From Having Any Gas at All

A growing number of states and cities are considering or implementing bans for the future construction of not just gas stoves, but natural gas hookups themselves, a move that would raise costs for consumers and potentially have negative environmental consequences, natural gas advocates told the Daily Caller News Foundation.

Lawmakers in the state of Minnesota introduced legislation Wednesday that would permit the state’s Commissioner of Labor and Industry to amend the state’s energy code to “mitigate the impact of climate change,” a directive that could be used to justify a ban on natural gas, according to the free-market Minnesota think-tank Center of the American Experiment. California and New York are weighing statewide bans which would not only increase costs, but may not have the climate benefits advocates hope for, Dan Kish, senior fellow at the Institute for Energy Research told the DCNF.

“Natural gas is our cleanest fossil [fuel] and it is responsible for the U.S. reducing carbon dioxide emissions more than other country, largely because we have centuries of the stuff.” Kish told the DCNF. “God blessed North America with enormous energy wealth, and our only impediment is power-hungry politicians who want to make energy more expensive and more foreign, while bossing Americans around by telling them how to heat their homes and what kind of car they can drive.”

Roughly half of all homes in the U.S. use natural gas for space and water heating, accounting for about 15% of all natural gas consumption in the U.S., according to the U.S. Energy Information Administration. Space heating with natural gas tends to be far cheaper than all-electric systems because they are more energy efficient, according to Seattle-based HVAC firm Evergreen Home Heating and Energy.

The issue of natural gas bans gained national prominence after news broke that the Consumer Product Safety Commission (CSPC) was considering banning gas stoves nationwide amid concerns that the pollutants produced by the stoves may have harmful effects. Yet, the study that these concerns are based on was partly funded by a pair of activist groups that advocate for the electrification of appliances. (Read more from “Forget Stoves! DeSantis Secures Hand Full of Wins as He Plans to Announce 2024 Presidential Bid

Gov. Ron DeSantis (R-Fla) is flying high after securing key legislative wins, priming him for a potential 2024 presidential bid.

During a five-day special legislation session, the House and Senate approved seven bills that could give DeSantis a boost for the White House should he run.

Among the bills was an expansion to the governor’s program flying illegal migrants to blue states and his control of Disney World’s special tax district.

The legislation creates an Unauthorized Alien Transport Program within the state’s Division of Emergency Management, which will allow state workers to transport illegal migrants to other states if necessary, a topic that has been both praised and criticized in the media.

The new legislation would give DeSantis the authority to transport migrants from any state, not just those in Florida. (Read more from “DeSantis Secures Hand Full of Wins as He Plans to Announce 2024 Presidential Bid” HERE)
