The Military Vaccine Mandate Has Been Overturned, but Unvaccinated Troops Still Risk Reprisal

While the Biden administration has officially reversed the military COVID-19 vaccination mandate, servicemembers who escaped discharge for refusing the vaccine still risk retaliation and could be booted anyway, experts told the Daily Caller News Foundation.

Ongoing class action lawsuits thwarted the military’s efforts to discharge thousands of troops who objected to the mandate before the 2023 National Defense Authorization Act, which President Joe Biden signed into law Friday, overturned it. However, servicemembers may risk reprisal even after the deadline passes for the Department of Defense (DOD) to implement the repeal, staining the records of thousands of servicemembers for the remainder of their careers, experts explained to the DCNF.

“There’s nothing to repair what’s already happened. There’s nothing to address the improper handling of medical exemptions, the violations for Religious Freedom Restoration Act and what the future looks like, whether it’s for religious reasons or other reasons,” R. Davis Younts, a military defense attorney, told the DCNF.

Potentially thousands of unvaccinated servicemembers — those denied medical or religious exemptions or wanted to challenge the order — were issued formal letters of reprimand, Younts said, including seven of his own clients. A permanently filed reprimand can suppress opportunities for members of the armed forces to reenlist or be promoted, and may constitute a basis for discharge. ‘Why Do You Hate Christians?’: Residents Blast Library Amid Christmas Drama

Town leaders in Dedham, Massachusetts, felt the wrath of its residents after a local library initially chose not to display a Christmas tree during the holiday season.

While the library ultimately reversed that decision after public outcry, residents at a town hall meeting continued to question the Endicott Branch Library’s motives.

“Why do you hate Christians so much?” one resident asked the officials after one woman said everyone deserved to have their beliefs represented and that a Christmas tree display was “a symbol of Christianity.”

Another resident accused the library of using the drama as a way to politicize the community and draw more national attention to the small town. (Read more from “‘Why Do You Hate Christians?’: Residents Blast Library Amid Christmas Drama” HERE)

Twittergate: 63% Want FBI ‘Censorship’ of Social Media Investigated

The Federal Bureau of Investigation has lost the confidence of half the nation, with even more now calling for an investigation into allegations the agency teamed with liberals to police top social media sites in order to benefit Democrats and President Joe Biden.

In the latest Rasmussen Reports survey, 63% want the new Congress to investigate reports of censorship by the FBI of Twitter and Facebook. An equal amount believe that it happened.

The finding in the new survey, sponsored by Miranda Devine, author of the book Laptop from Hell which deals with first son Hunter Biden’s scandal-laden computer, followed a week of revelations that the government convinced Twitter to censor posts about Biden and his critics. Substation Attacks Leave 15K Homes Without Power On Christmas

Over 15,000 homes were without power on Christmas Day after vandals damaged four substations in Washington State.

The attacks began at 2:30 a.m. Pacific Time Sunday, according to Puget Sound Energy. Three attacks occurred during the early morning hours, with a fourth incident later reported on Christmas night.

“It is unknown if there are any motives or if this was a coordinated attack on the power systems,” according to a statement from the Pierce County Sheriff’s Department, KUOW-TV reported.

Sgt. Darren Moss of the Pierce County Sheriff’s Department disputed calling the incidents “attacks.” (Read more from “Substation Attacks Leave 15K Homes Without Power On Christmas” HERE)

FBI Admits It Meddles In ‘Numerous Companies,’ Not Just Twitter

After a series of “Twitter Files” detailed Twitter’s extensive collusion with the FBI and federal agencies to control public discourse before Elon Musk took over the tech giant, the FBI on Wednesday tried to salvage its reputation by spinning the revelations as normal procedure.

“The correspondence between the FBI and Twitter show nothing more than examples of our traditional, longstanding and ongoing federal government and private sector engagements, which involve numerous companies over multiple sectors and industries,” the FBI said in a statement to Fox News. “As evidenced in the correspondence, the FBI provides critical information to the private sector in an effort to allow them to protect themselves and their customers.”

The FBI’s statement came after the release of Part 6 and Part 7 of the “Twitter Files.” Those were reported by independent journalists Matt Taibbi and Michael Shellenberger, respectively. “The Twitter Files” is the release of internal company documents through multiple independent, politically left-leaning journalists that have included Bari Weiss and Lee Fang.

Taibbi’s Twitter reporting details the FBI’s extensive private communication with Twitter. The documents show how the FBI pressured Twitter to censor information in a partisan direction, usually under the guise of bolstering “election integrity” or combatting “misinformation” about Covid-19. Shellenberger’s reporting shows the FBI fed lies to Twitter executives to justify its censorship of the Hunter Biden laptop story from The New York Post just weeks before the 2020 presidential election. Polling later showed that communications restriction tipped the election to Joe Biden. (Read more from “FBI Admits It Meddles in ‘Numerous Companies,’ Not Just Twitter” HERE)

Russia’s Warning to US: Deescalate or Face ‘Consequences’

The U.S. is risking a direct confrontation with Russia over the war in Ukraine, two top Russian officials have said.

Moscow’s ambassador to the U.S., Anatoly Antonov, said in an interview with Tass published Friday that “the risk of a clash between the two great powers is high.”

Alexander Darchiyev, director of the Foreign Ministry’s North American Department, made similar remarks in an interview with the same Russian state news agency. . .

Darchiyev told Tass that he hoped, “Washington will heed the voice of reason” and not allow the situation “to escalate to the point of a direct confrontation between Russia and the United States.” (Read more from “Russia’s Warning to US: Deescalate or Face ‘Consequences'” HERE)

Holiday Flight Cancellations: Know Your Airline’s Policies and Best Options

Flight cancelations are top of mind for holiday travelers as a harsh winter storm is expected to hit a large swath of the U.S.

More than 574 flights in, out of and across the U.S. have been delayed as of 3 a.m. ET on Friday, according to flight tracking website FlightAware. Nearly 2,790 have been canceled, the data shows.

On Thursday, more than 10,028 flights in, out of and across the U.S. were delayed and nearly 2,539 were canceled. . .

Airlines have proactively issued travel waivers to help travelers whose flights are canceled during a certain stretch of the holiday. This means travelers won’t have to pay any change fee or fare difference when rebooking their flight.

However, it’s important to read the fine print. Passengers need to book within a certain time frame and buy a seat in the same cabin. They must also rebook the same cities they were previously flying between. Impacted travel dates will differ depending on the area of the count. VP Harris Whines: The Media Doesn’t Cover ‘Strength of My Leadership’

Vice President Kamala Harris complained this week about poor media coverage — during a friendly interview with a Washington Post columnist — moaning that the press doesn’t focus on what she called “the strength of my leadership.”

“There are things that I’ve done as vice president that fully demonstrate the strength of my leadership as vice president that have not received the kind of coverage that I think Dobbs did receive,” Harris told Jonathan Capehart, referring to the June 24 Supreme Court decision overturning Roe v. Wade and returning the question of abortion to the states.

“What you’ve been able to see,” the veep added, is “based on what gets covered.”

In his opinion piece, Capehart argued that contrary to conventional wisdom, Harris, 58, has “had a most excellent year” and cited three supposed “tent poles” of her 2022.

One of those, Capehart said, was Harris’ appearance at the Munich Security Conference in February just prior to Russia’s invasion of Ukraine. What he did not mention was that Harris was roundly mocked for telling reporters at that conference that Europe had enjoyed “peace and security” since the end of World War II. Poll: Majority of Americans Favor Jesus Over Santa on Christmas

A majority of Americans still believe Jesus Christ — not Santa — is the reason for the Christmas season, according to a new poll from Rasmussen Reports.

Out of 1,000 U.S. American adults polled between Dec. 8-12, 57 percent “believe Christmas should be more about Jesus Christ than about Santa Claus.” Only 22 percent put Santa first and 20 percent are undecided.

“Two years ago, 63 percent said Christmas should be more about Jesus. Support for Jesus as the primary reason for the holiday which celebrates his birth has ranged as high as 76 percent in 2012,” according to the poll, which has a ± 3 percentage points with a 95 percent level of confidence.

Ninety-percent of adults celebrate Christmas in their family, an increase from 85 percent two years ago. Out of those Americans, 52 percent celebrate Christmas as a religious holiday, while 37 percent view it as a secular holiday. Eleven percent are unsure.

Billions Sent to Ukraine Could Build Seven 450-Mile Border Walls Along US-Mexico Border

Republicans and Democrats in Congress have authorized more than $110 billion in American taxpayer money to be sent to Ukraine to support the nation’s fight against Russia since the war started. Meanwhile, most of the nearly 2,000-mile United States-Mexico border remains without any barrier.

As part of a year-end $1.7 trillion spending package, 18 Senate Republicans and nine House Republicans voted with Democrats to throw another $45 billion in taxpayer money at Ukraine — bringing the total amount of taxpayer money sent to Ukraine, authorized by Congress, to more than $110 billion.

For comparison, a Breitbart News analysis finds that all Ukraine funds could have built a complete wall along the entirety of the U.S.-Mexico border, multiple times over. (Read more from “Billions Sent to Ukraine Could Build Seven 450-Mile Border Walls Along US-Mexico Border” HERE)
