Is the U.S. Military Vaccine Mandate Going to Be Repealed?

Congress and the White House are mulling proposals from top lawmakers to repeal the U.S. military’s vaccine mandate several months after President Joe Biden declared the COVID-19 pandemic to be “over,” according to recent media reports.

Congress’ annual defense bill, the text of which is set to be published next week, may include a compromise amendment scrapping the military vaccine requirement, Democratic Rep. Adam Smith of Washington told Politico on Saturday. Smith’s comments followed prospective House leader Republican Rep. Kevin McCarthy’s claims on Friday that House and Senate leaders had come to an agreement, which the White House is considering, on overturning the Biden administration’s service-wide mandate, according to Reuters.

President Joe Biden, Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer of New York, House Speaker Nancy Pelosi of California, Senate Republican leader Mitch McConnell of Kentucky and McCarthy had negotiated a bipartisan agreement to end the mandate, McCarthy told Fox News on Friday evening.

“We’re going to see in the NDAA – lift the vaccination mandate on our military men and women,” McCarthy said, referring to Congress’ yearly funding bill for the U.S. military.

However, the White House denied any agreement to scrap the mandate was set in stone, according to Reuters. (Read more from “Is the U.S. Military Vaccine Mandate Going to Be Repealed?” HERE)

Scientist Who Worked at Wuhan Lab Says COVID Was Man-Made Virus

A scientist who worked at a controversial research lab in China has claimed that COVID was a man-made virus that leaked from the facility, according to a report.

Andrew Huff, who worked for a New York-based non-profit that studied viruses, said COVID leaked from the Wuhan Institute of Virology in China two-plus years ago and blamed authorities for the “biggest US intelligence failure since 9/11,” Britain’s The Sun reported Saturday.

The lab has been at the center of fierce debates about the origins of COVID, with both Chinese government officials and lab personnel denying that the virus leaked from the facility.

Huff, an epidemiologist, said in his new book, “The Truth About Wuhan,” that the pandemic was the result of the US government’s funding of coronaviruses in China.

He said that China’s gain-of-function experiments were carried out with lax security, which led to a leak at the Wuhan lab. (Read more from “Scientist Who Worked at Wuhan Lab Says COVID Was Man-Made Virus” HERE)

Treasury Sec. Yellen Bizarrely Says Musk’s Twitter Content Needs to Be Under ‘Control’

U.S. Treasury Secretary Janet Yellen said Twitter’s content moderation should be held to certain standards as its new owner Elon Musk launches a new feud with Apple over issues of “free speech.”

Musk went on a tweetstorm against Apple on Monday, alleging that the tech giant had slashed its ad spending and threatened to delist Twitter from its App Store after Musk’s buyout. In one tweet, the billionaire asked, “Do they hate free speech in America?”

Two days later at an event hosted by the New York Times, Yellen branched out from her role as the country’s chief financial officer to offer her own take, according to Reuters.

“I think it’s a good thing, if Apple is looking at the content,” she said. “Most broadcast stations are subjected to standards in terms of what they broadcast to the public. And Twitter’s not really that different than other broadcast stations.”

It isn’t clear what led to her remark. But Reuters reported that when she was asked if it was good that companies like Apple and Google can make content demands, she said, “It’s a kind of control that I think is needed.” (Read more from “Treasury Sec. Yellen Bizarrely Says Musk’s Twitter Content Needs to Be Under ‘Control’” HERE)

Trump or Biden? Poll Suggests Americans Want Neither

As of current, former President Trump and President Joe Biden are the nations contenders for the 2024 presidential race.

However, with many Americans not on the Trump train this time around, and with the amount of destruction Biden has caused, the pickings are slim.

But nonetheless, between the two, Americans would still rather Trump in office than Biden.

According to a Economist/YouGov poll, 56 percent of likely voters said “no” when asked if they want Biden to run again for four more years. . .

In comparison, 54 percent said they do not want Trump to run again either, but still that number is less than the vote for Biden. (Read more from “Trump or Biden? Poll Suggests Americans Want Neither” HERE)

TOTAL 2020 ELECTION FRAUD; Hunter Biden Laptop Bombshell: Twitter Invented Reason to Censor Post’s Reporting; Musk Leaks Twitter’s Biden Files; ‘Biden Team’ Requested Twitter Scrub Scandalous Hunter Biden Info Days Before 2020 Election; Tucker Carlson: Twitter Files Biggest ‘First Amendment Violation In Modern History’

By New York Post. . .Twitter “just freelanced” its baseless decision to censor The Post’s bombshell Hunter Biden laptop scoop in the run up to the 2020 election — with top-level workers at the social media giant agreeing that controversial decision was “f–ked,” damning insider communications released by CEO Elon Musk Friday reveal. . .

Musk tweeted a link to the account of independent journalist Matt Taibbi shortly after 6 p.m., who shed light on Twitter’s shady censorship decision by posting what appeared to be redacted emails between Twitter employees.

The decision to censor The Post’s story was made “at the highest levels of the company,” according to Taibbi, but without Dorsey’s involvement. . .

According to Taibbi, the social media company “took extraordinary steps to suppress” The Post’s Hunter Biden laptop story, removing links to the expose shared by users and posting warnings that it may be “unsafe.”

Taibbi said that Twitter even resorted to a rarely used tactic to stop the dissemination of the story – blocking the sharing of links to the story via direct message, a tool usually only used in “extreme cases,” such as to stop the distribution of child pornography. ‘This Will Be Awesome’: Musk Leaks Twitter’s Hunter Biden Files

By Politico. Elon Musk is stoking controversy on a new front, this time revealing sensitive internal deliberations at Twitter around Hunter Biden’s personal computer files in the fall of 2020.

On Friday evening, Twitter’s new owner promoted a leak of documents on his personal account, just the latest sign that the tech billionaire continues to steer the platform in a direction more favorable to conservatives and libertarians. Ahead of the midterm elections, Musk urged his followers to vote Republican. Last month, he reinstated former President Donald Trump’s Twitter account after taking an informal online poll. . .

Musk teased the event hours before it began to spill out in Taibbi’s tweets, promising, “This will be awesome,” and suggested he was personally involved in its preparation.

“We’re double-checking some facts, so probably start live tweeting in about 40 mins,” Musk tweeted as users waited for the promised disclosures. His latest controversial move came before the dust had settled from his last one, which saw Musk block Ye’s account after the rapper tweeted, “I like Hitler.” (Read more from “‘This Will Be Awesome’: Musk Leaks Twitter’s Hunter Biden Files” HERE)

‘Biden Team’ Requested Twitter Scrub Scandalous Hunter Biden Info Days Before 2020 Election

By National Review. In an email dated October 24, just days before the 2020 presidential election, the “Biden team” reportedly demanded that Twitter scrub information critical of Hunter Biden from the site, according to a jaw dropping release of “The Twitter Files” by new CEO Elon Musk.

Twitter staff forwarded a request from what seemed to be the Biden campaign to delete five tweets in particular.

“More to review from the Biden team,” the message, from the first installment of the documents analyzed by journalist Matt Taibbi, read. “Handled,” was the reply.

Three of the tweets, from since-suspended accounts, featured scandalous graphic images of the president’s son posing with his genitalia exposed, according to archives, which were leaked from the laptop that the New York Post first uncovered. In one image, Hunter Biden’s nudity is blotted out by red digital paint.

Also on October 24, the Democratic National Committee requested two tweets related to Hunter Biden be removed. One, from James Wood, was a parody Biden presidential ad displaying his son smoking what appears to be a crack pipe.

Tucker Carlson Calls Twitter Files the Biggest ‘First Amendment Violation in Modern History’

By Daily Caller. Fox News host Tucker Carlson said Friday that documents released by Elon Musk and journalist Matt Taibbi detail a massive “systemic violation” of the First Amendment.

“One of the most extraordinary moments in the history of social media is unfolding right now as we speak. It began when Elon Musk took control of Twitter. When he bought the company, he promised to reveal its corruption, the extent to which Twitter engaged in politically motivated censorship, including the unlawful illegal censorship of American citizens at the direction of the U.S. government.”

Musk released the documents to journalist Matt Taibbi, who posted a lengthy thread on Twitter. The documents reportedly detail how company executives made moderation decisions and accommodated requests from the Biden campaign. Trump Asks Judge to Keep Third-Party Review on Schedule After Court Dismisses Special Master

Former President Donald Trump asked a Florida federal court to keep the third-party review of documents seized from his Mar-a-Lago estate on schedule one day after a federal appeals court ruled to halt the special master from oversight.

Trump’s request was made to U.S. District Judge Aileen Cannon, the same judge who granted the special master review after federal authorities seized documents from his home in August as part of a criminal investigation into alleged retention of national security information, theft of government documents, and obstruction of justice.

The former president asked her to oppose the Justice Department’s request to delay third-party review deadlines in light of the U.S. Court of Appeals for the 11th Circuit throwing out special master Raymond Dearie’s designated role on Thursday. Notably, the request did not indicate any plans for Trump to appeal the 11th Circuit’s decision from the day before.

“President Trump opposes modification of the current case management order at this,” his attorneys wrote, noting that Trump’s counsel can be available for a telephonic status conference on Dec. 6 after that date. Supreme Court to Hear Case of Web Designer Refusing to Do Gay Wedding Sites

Lorie Smith, 38, of Littleton, Colo., may be the new face of a national debate pitting gay rights against freedom of speech in a case some have called a “free speech blockbuster.”

The Colorado web site designer, who has sued her state for the right to not include gay couples in her wedding design business, will see her case argued before the Supreme Court on Monday. . .

The case is a preemptive move against the Colorado’s public accommodations law, which mandates that businesses cannot refuse to serve people based on race, religion or sexual orientation. Smith, who does not believe in gay marriages because of her religious convictions, says the current law forces her to either design sites for same-sex weddings – if she offers them for opposite-sex couples – or face fines and jail time. New Court Ruling Slams Air Force’s Limited Approval of Religious Exemptions for COVID-19 Vaccine

An appeals court in Ohio has upheld an injunction that protects around 10,000 unvaccinated active-duty, reserve and National Guard service members in the Air Force and Space Force from being punished as they await religious exemptions from the COVID-19 vaccine.

The ruling, issued by the 6th Circuit Court of Appeals in Cincinnati on Tuesday, upheld previous wins by attorneys representing the service members over the last year and took aim at the Air Force’s process of approving religious exemptions. The decision sets the stage for a future trial or, possibly, the case winding its way up to the Supreme Court.

“These are people of principle who’ve had the proverbial gun to their head for a year and a half,” Thomas Bruns, a Cincinnati-based attorney with Bruns, Connell, Vollmar & Armstrong representing the service members, told Military.com on Wednesday. “All because they wouldn’t violate their moral conscience. So this was a huge win for our clients.”

The lawsuit, first filed by troops attached to Wright-Patterson Air Force Base, Ohio, has led to temporary protections for around 10,000 active-duty, Active Reserve, reserve and National Guard members of the Air Force and Space Force who requested a religious exemption from the COVID vaccine, although only those who have been denied an exemption would face immediate action. Right After Biden Successfully Buys Votes With Student Loan Bailout, Supreme Court Will Weigh In

The Supreme Court will decide whether the Biden administration acted lawlessly when it authorized the cancellation of hundreds of billions of dollars in student loans. The high court announced on Thursday that it would expedite an appeal brought by the Biden administration challenging a lower court’s injunction freezing its loan “forgiveness” program, promising a hearing in February on the issues.

Until then, the Supreme Court will let stand the injunction the Eighth Circuit issued in Nebraska v. Biden. That injunction prevents the Biden administration from cancelling student loans of up to $20,000 per borrower, pending resolution of the legal challenge to the debt-forgiveness plan brought by six states: Arkansas, Iowa, Kansas, Missouri, Nebraska, and South Carolina.

In petitioning the Supreme Court for relief, the Biden administration initially sought an order vacating the Eighth Circuit’s injunction, but the administration argued alternatively that, if the high court declined to dissolve the injunction, it should instead hear the case on appeal on an expedited schedule. The Supreme Court’s decision to take the case on appeal presents a unique situation, given that the Eighth Circuit has not yet addressed the merits of the states’ lawsuit.

Come February then, the Supreme Court will need to decide whether the lower court erred in finding that the states lacked standing to challenge the Biden administration’s cancellation of student loans. The states present an array of arguments for why they had standing, or the legal ability to sue, with Missouri advancing the strongest argument for standing. Teens’ Brains Were Physically ‘Altered,’ Aged by ‘Several Years’ During COVID Lockdowns: Study

Teenagers’ brains were physically altered and aged at an accelerated rate during the COVID lockdowns, according to a Stanford University study published Thursday.

Researchers used MRI scans to study the brains of 163 adolescents in the San Francisco Bay Area who were already a part of a more intensive study “assessing the effects of early life stress on psychobiology across puberty.” The study found that 16-year-olds had more severe mental health problems, and their brains appeared “several years” older than 16-year-olds who were assessed before pandemic restrictions began.

“We already know from global research that the pandemic has adversely affected mental health in youth, but we didn’t know what, if anything, it was doing physically to their brains,” said Ian Gotlib, the first author of the paper and professor of Psychology in the School of Humanities and Sciences.

Children were especially affected by government-ordered lockdowns across the U.S. following the onset of the pandemic in March 2020. In the Bay Area, schools remained closed for over a year as students were forced to learn virtually from their homes. Finally, in the spring of 2021, the San Francisco Unified School District (SFUSD) offered parents the option of sending their children back to school in person.
