Most Fear ‘1930s-Like Depression’: Rasmussen Poll

Voters see no end to the economic destruction under President Joe Biden, with most now predicting a 1930s-style Great Depression.

In the latest Rasmussen Reports survey, 57% said that they believe the United States will enter a “1930s-like Depression” soon, including 21% who think a depression is “very likely.” Just 32% don’t think the downturn will end that badly.

The new survey is the latest warning sign to the White House and the Democrats eyeing a 2024 presidential bid. Most respondents have said in recent polls that they believe the nation is on the wrong track, but a depression is a whole different game.

Just today, noted investor Stanley Druckenmiller said he believes the Federal Reserve’s aggressive tightening measures will put the U.S. economy into a recession. (Read more from “Most Fear ‘1930s-Like Depression’: Rasmussen Poll” HERE)

Air Force Thinks Letting Men and Women Bunk With Each Other Will Boost Sagging Recruitment

The Air Force announced a new mixed gender training facility Saturday as a potential solution to recruitment challenges facing its special warfare branch and a means of creating a cohesive team for special warfare trainees.

The 76,000 square foot mixed-sex aquatic training center is slated for completion in 2023, according to the Air Force’s press release. The $66.6 million facility will feature co-ed restrooms, locker rooms, and showers. Men and women will bunk together in open bay dormitories and utilize individual shower rooms and restrooms within locker areas.

“We continuously struggle to recruit enough people who have the potential to meet our standards in Air Force Special Warfare,” Second Air Force commander Major General Michele Edmondson said. The Special Warfare Training Wing’s commander, Col. Nathan Colunga, also emphasized the importance of an “environment of inclusion” for program members. 30 Ex-FBI Agents Stand Up to Support Whistleblower Who Exposed Agency’s Political Bias

Thirty former FBI agents, including a retired deputy assistant director, head of counterterrorism and five SWAT team members, have spoken out publicly in support of suspended FBI whistleblower Stephen Friend.

Their heartfelt messages, obtained exclusively by The Post, show a deep and widespread anguish about the politicization of the FBI.

“It’s time to stop the FBI from being the enforcer of a political party’s ideology,” says Ernie Tibaldi, a retired agent from San Francisco. “We need to reestablish the FBI as the apolitical and independent law enforcement entity that it always was.”

He expressed gratitude to Friend “for having the courage to stand up to the corruption that has taken over the leadership of the FBI.”

Many former agents hailed Friend, a SWAT team member in Florida, as a “hero,” after he was punished for refusing to participate in what he regarded as unnecessarily heavy-handed SWAT raids over Jan. 6 misdemeanors. Hurricane Ian Slams Into Florida as Powerful Category 4 Hurricane

Hurricane Ian slammed into southwest Florida as a powerful Category 4 hurricane Wednesday afternoon after more than 2 million Floridians were given evacuation orders.

With 150 mph winds, Hurricane Ian is tied for the 4th strongest hurricane to ever hit the state, according to meteorologist Philip Klotzbach.

The National Hurricane Center said that the hurricane was moving north-northeast at approximately 9 mph and is expected to slow down and turn northeast on Thursday. The center of the hurricane is expected to make landfall late Wednesday afternoon and the storm will “emerge over the western Atlantic by late Thursday.” (Read more from “Hurricane Ian Slams Into Florida as Powerful Category 4 Hurricane” HERE)

Marjorie Taylor Greene’s Husband Files for Divorce

Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene’s husband has filed for divorce from the conservative firebrand, she confirmed Wednesday.

“Marriage is a wonderful thing and I’m a firm believer in it,” Greene told The Post in a statement. “Our society is formed by a husband and wife creating a family to nurture and protect. Together, Perry and I formed our family and raised three great kids. He gave me the best job title you can ever earn: Mom.”

“I’ll always be grateful for how great of a dad he is to our children,” she added.

The Georgia House representative’s husband, Perry Greene, filed for divorce Tuesday after 27 years of marriage, according to court documents obtained by TMZ.

The two were married in Aug. 1995 while Greene was still a student at the University of Georgia. They have three adult children together. (Read more from “Marjorie Taylor Greene’s Husband Files for Divorce” HERE)

Pro-Life Activist Pleads Not Guilty; Lawmakers Demand Merrick Garland Explain Alleged FBI SWAT Raid on Catholic Pro-life Activist Mark Houck

By Washington Times. A Pennsylvania anti-abortion activist arrested at his home pleaded not guilty Tuesday to federal charges stemming from an altercation at an abortion clinic, a case fueling Republican claims that the Biden administration is targeting its political foes.

Mark Houck, president of the Catholic nonprofit The King’s Men, entered the plea in Philadelphia federal court on two counts of violating the Freedom of Access to Clinic Entrances [FACE] Act for allegedly pushing a volunteer patient escort last year outside a Planned Parenthood facility in Philadelphia.

Republicans and pro-life groups have decried the arrest, accusing the FBI of going overboard by descending on Mr. Houck at his home with his wife and seven children present, even though his attorneys say he previously offered to turn himself in voluntarily and that local authorities dropped the case.

Sen. Josh Hawley, Missouri Republican, fired off a letter Monday to Attorney General Merrick Garland saying that if “the shocking reports about the FBI arresting a man Friday in rural Pennsylvania are true, then you have a lot to answer for.”

“Not only did your office turn a local dispute into a national case, but the FBI reportedly executed the search warrant in as extreme a manner as one can imagine,” said Mr. Hawley. “Reports state that the FBI sent as many as 20 to 25 agents to conduct the arrest. And the FBI allegedly arrested Houck at gunpoint early in the morning in front of his seven children.” (Read more from “Pro-Life Activist Pleads Not Guilty Amid Rising GOP Outrage Over FBI Raid on Home” HERE)

Lawmakers Demand Merrick Garland Explain Alleged FBI SWAT Raid on Catholic Pro-life Activist Mark Houck

By Breitbart. As many as 22 lawmakers have called upon Attorney General Merrick Garland to provide an explanation as to why the FBI allegedly sent 25-30 fully-armed agents to arrest Catholic pro-life activist Mark Houck as his “screaming” children watched in horror.

Released Tuesday, the open letter spearheaded by Rep. Chip Roy (R-TX) said that the FBI should have an “extraordinary reason” for arresting Houck the way they allegedly did. The letter said:

There is much to learn about the extent of the FBI’s operations in this case, apparently since state-level charges were apparently dismissed by local authorities in Philadelphia. Surely, the FBI must have an extraordinary reason for showing up at the home of an American family, allegedly with roughly 25 heavily armed federal agents, and arresting a father in front of his seven children.

“At the moment, it appears to be an extraordinary overreach for political ends,” the letter added.

The letter demanded that Merrick Garland respond by September 30. (Read more from “Lawmakers Demand Merrick Garland Explain Alleged FBI SWAT Raid on Catholic Pro-life Activist Mark Houck” HERE)

China Posed as Conservatives and Liberals to Bash U.S. Politicians Online, Meta Says

Meta said Tuesday that it took down a China-based influence operation featuring fake accounts impersonating conservatives criticizing President Biden and liberals ripping Republicans in states like Florida, Texas and California.

The influence operation was relatively small in size and received low engagement online, but could be a harbinger of activity to come as the U.S. midterm elections approach and foreign actors aim to inflame tensions online.

The China-based actors used 81 Facebook accounts, and two Instagram accounts, and targeted an American audience, Chinese- and French-speaking audiences, and people in the Czech Republic.

Near the end of this past March, Meta’s report said the influence network created a handful of accounts that posted around dozens of times over a few weeks before going silent in April.

“Accounts posed as conservative Americans and posted memes in English that accused President Biden and other politicians — both Democrats and Republicans, including House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, Climate Envoy John Kerry and Senator Mitt Romney — of corruption,” the report said. Reason for Last Jan. 6 Panel Hearing Being Postponed Revealed

The House committee investigating the events that took place on Jan. 6 has reportedly postponed its hearing that was scheduled to take place on Wednesday afternoon, the committee announced Tuesday.

Wednesday’s hearing was set to be the committee’s ninth public hearing and possibly the last before lawmakers release their final report later this year. The postponement was made due to Hurricane Ian, which is expected to make landfall in Florida early Wednesday morning.

“In light of Hurricane Ian bearing down on parts of Florida, we have decided to postpone tomorrow’s proceedings,” Chairman Bennie Thompson (D-MS) and Vice Chairwoman Liz Cheney (R-WY) said in a statement. “We’re praying for the safety of all those in the storm’s path. The Select Committee’s investigation goes forward and we will soon announce a date for the postponed proceedings.”

One of the committee members, Rep. Stephanie Murphy (D-FL), represents a district that is in the path of the hurricane. Murphy represents Florida’s 7th Congressional District, which covers much of the north-central part of the state between Orlando and Daytona Beach. Teen Charged With Murder Over Fentanyl Overdose Death

A California teenager has been charged with murder for allegedly dealing fentanyl drugs to another teen which led to an overdose fatality.

Eighteen-year-old Alfred Urrea issued a non-guilty plea and is being held on a $1 million bail with a pre-preliminary hearing set for Tuesday. Adrian Alloway, another 18 year old, passed away from a fentanyl overdose at the end of August.

This is the second time San Bernardino County authorities have brought murder charges due to a fentanyl poisoning.

“In cases such as this, where murder is alleged, we believe we can prove beyond a reasonable doubt the dealer knowingly understood the dangers of fentanyl, and still chose profits over human life when supplying drugs to the victim,” District Attorney Jason Anderson said.

Fentanyl is a growing problem, especially among young people across the country. (Read more from “Teen Charged With Murder Over Fentanyl Overdose Death” HERE)

Jen Psaki Said Biden Admin Tried to Change Focus Away From Dobbs Decision-Leaker, Calls Reporting on Leak ‘Historic’ and ‘Amazing’

Jen Psaki revealed that the Biden administration tried to shift the focus away from who leaked the consequential Dobbs draft decision and called the reporting on the leak “historic” and “amazing.”

Psaki was interviewed as a part of the Texas Tribune Festival when she made the comments while speaking to journalist Emily Ramshaw.

“I was there the night that the story broke in Politico, and it was one of my last weeks in the White House,” said Psaki.

“But I remember the story breaking late at night and we had to figure out what, if anything, we were going to say that night because it wasn’t the confirmed ruling, it was a leaked story that of course turned out to be entirely accurate,” she recalled.

“And I think the reporting in that case was amazing, historic in many ways,” Psaki said. (Read more from “Jen Psaki Said Biden Admin Tried to Change Focus Away From Dobbs Decision-Leaker, Calls Reporting on Leak ‘Historic’ and ‘Amazing'” HERE)
