The Ohio Republican lawmaker also reminded viewers of altered evidence, apparently referring to an altered text message exchange between Jordan and Mark Meadows.

DeSantis Reacts to Straw Poll Showing Him Leading Against Trump (VIDEO)

Republican Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis reacted to a straw poll showing him in the lead against former President Donald Trump for the nomination in a potential 2024 presidential run.

The poll was held at the 2022 Western Conservative Summit Saturday where DeSantis acquired 71% support while Trump held nearly 68% favorability. Republican Texas Sen. Ted Cruz came in third with 29% approval. A reporter asked the governor whether he has decided to run for president.

“I don’t do straw polls,” DeSantis responded. “They just put my name to these things, you know? So, what am I supposed to do? Like they sell merchandise and everything. I’d kind of like to get royalties on that.”

A Wednesday straw poll conducted at the Wisconsin Republican Convention found DeSantis narrowly leading Trump for the nomination in a potential 2024 presidential race. By Townhall. During Tuesday’s Senate Finance Committee hearing to discuss “The President’s Fiscal Year 2023 Budget,” Sen. Debbie Stabenow (D-MI) displayed just how tone-deaf she is on gas prices affecting her constituents when she bragged about driving an electric car. When it comes to the price at the pump, Sen. Stabenow said, “It didn’t matter how high [the price] was.”

“After waiting a long time to finally have enough chips in this country to finally get my electric vehicle, I got it and drove it from Michigan to here this last weekend and went by every single gas station, and it didn’t matter how high it was,” Sen. Stabenow said about gas prices. “And so I’m looking forward to the opportunity for us to move to vehicles that aren’t going to be dependent on the whims of the oil companies and the international markets,” she continued.

As Gas Prices Break Records, World Bank Warns of 1970S-style ‘Stagflation’

By Newsweek. As U.S. gas prices reached an all-time high, the World Bank issued a warning that a combination of rising inflation and a slowdown in economic growth could lead the global economy into 1970s-style “stagflation.”

The price of gas in the U.S. hit $4.91 per gallon on Tuesday, according to AAA. On the same day, the World Bank issued its latest Global Economic Prospects report—which compared current economic conditions around the world with those during the “stagflation of the 1970s,” spelling potentially bad news for the global economy due to issues including fiscal damage caused by the COVID-19 pandemic and the Russian invasion of Ukraine.

“The war in Ukraine, lockdowns in China, supply-chain disruptions, and the risk of stagflation are hammering growth,” World Bank President David Malpass said in a statement. “For many countries, recession will be hard to avoid. Markets look forward, so it is urgent to encourage production and avoid trade restrictions. Changes in fiscal, monetary, climate and debt policy are needed to counter capital misallocation and inequality.”

However, it was also noted that the current economy differs from that of the 1970s in several important areas, including the U.S. dollar currently being strong, smaller percentage increases in commodity prices, strong “balance sheets of major financial institutions” and better controls on price stability through central banks and a track record of meeting inflation targets. Horrifying Video: Mother Tells Baby, ‘I Could Have Killed You’

A horrifying video compilation shared by Live Action founder and president Lila Rose shows a pro-abortion mom, cooing to her baby that she could have killed her but chose not to.

In the first clip, the young mom held her baby in the video, looking down straight at her as she began talking in a baby voice. “Hi! I could have killed you,” she said. “But I chose to let you live.” The mom then directly addressed viewers in a more normal speaking tone.

“I chose to let her live,” she repeated. “As in, I had a choice. All women should have a choice.” Over the screen, text flashed as she spoke, seeming to be responses to pro-life comments on her video. “Motherhood is a choice and it is not for every woman,” she wrote.

In the second clip, she directly mocked the words of a person who commented about her use of the word “kill” when speaking about abortion. In an exaggerated whiny voice, she said, “Do you realize what you just said? Killed,” she continued. “I cannot wrap my brain around this no matter how I look at it.”

If they had their way, every gun maker would be on trial right now. People would sue them for homicides and other gun-related events for which these companies bear no responsibility. On faulty safety defects, that’s a different story and something worthy of a lawsuit. For homicides, no—Remington didn’t sell the weapon to the criminal, and it was never meant to be used in a crime. The Protection of Lawful Commerce in Arms Act which was passed in 2005 under George W. Bush is essential to protecting our Second Amendment.

Yet, Joe Applesauce for brains says the gun industry is “the only industry in this country that has that kind of immunity.”

That’s wrong, Joe. You lied. I know the lights are getting dimmer by the day because your brain function is slightly higher than a yam, but I’m pretty sure the pharmaceutical companies enjoy a massive legal shield from the COVID vaccine. Oh wait—they do (via CNBC):

If you experience severe side effects after getting a Covid vaccine, lawyers tell CNBC there is basically no one to blame in a U.S. court of law.

The federal government has granted companies like Pfizer and Moderna immunity from liability if something unintentionally goes wrong with their vaccines.

Biden Says Second Amendment Is ‘Not Absolute’ in Call to Reinstate Assault Weapons Ban

President Biden said the Second Amendment is “not absolute” in a speech Thursday following a wave of mass shootings across the nation, pleading with to Congress to pass what he called “commonsense” gun control legislation, including reinstating an assault weapons ban, requiring background checks, and limiting magazine capacity.

The president, speaking from the Cross Hall of the White House, told Americans that the issue of restricting access to guns “is one of conscience and common sense.” . . .

“I respect the culture, the tradition, the concerns of lawful gun owners,” Biden continued. “At the same time, the Second Amendment, like all other rights, is not absolute.”

Biden added: “This isn’t about taking away anyone’s rights. It’s about protecting children. It’s about protecting families. It’s about protecting whole communities. After a bloody weekend of gang violence in Philadelphia and other Democratic cities around the country, leftist media activists are using the carnage as a way to push for new gun control legislation in Washington D.C.

As a way to bolster their narrative, media figures are classifying typical street violence as mass shootings, implying they happened in a targeted fashion at a school or place of worship.

So what exactly is a “mass shooting?” As the University of Pennsylvania and others point out, the definition is arbitrary.

In the United States, there are several different, but common, definitions of mass shootings. The Congressional Research Service defines mass shootings, as multiple, firearm, homicide incidents, involving 4 or more victims at one or more locations close to one another. The FBI definition is essentially the same. Often there is a distinction made between private and public mass shootings (e.g., a school, place of worship, or a business establishment). Mass shootings undertaken by foreign terrorists are not included, no matter how many people die or where the shooting occurs.

Left-Wing Critics Say Bill Maher Should Be ‘Canceled’ Over LGBTQ Comments (VIDEO)

Left-wing critics are demanding that HBO “cancel” Bill Maher after accusing the HBO “Real Time” host of delivering an anti-transgender monologue on last Friday’s show.

David Kilmnick, who heads the nonprofit LGBT Network, wrote an article in Advocate magazine on Wednesday titled: “Bill Maher Has Gone Too Far With Anti-LGBTQ+ Comments.”

Maher was blasted for saying that “we’re literally experimenting on children” by providing them with puberty blockers and other treatments aimed at facilitating gender transitions.

He also said that transitioning was becoming “trendy.” Maher hit out at Chase Strangio, a lawyer for the American Civil Liberties Union, who cheered efforts to ban a book by author Abigail Shrier.

Shrier, a Wall Street Journal writer, is author of “Irreversible Damage,” which explores the rapidly growing trend of teenage girls who undergo therapies and surgeries to transition to boys.

Academy Award-nominated actor and devout Catholic Mark Wahlberg recently took to social media to congratulate his son and all the young people who have committed their lives to God.

In a video post on Instagram, Wahlberg, who is currently in Europe filming the Netflix movie “Our Man From Jersey,” shared how proud he is of his son for making his Catholic confirmation.

“Just got down on my hands and knees to express my gratitude,” the actor said as he knelt by his bed.

“Congratulations to my son Michael on making his confirmation [and] all the young people out there who were confirmed and taking their relationship with the Lord into their adulthood, what a commitment you guys have made,” he continued.

This Is Why Jill and Joe Biden Argue Over Text

First lady Jill and President Joe Biden argue over text messages to escape earshot of the Secret Service, Mrs. Biden told Harper’s Bazaar’s June/July issue.

The couple has termed their arguments over text as “fexting” in which they regularly spend time “hashing out their occasional spats over text” to “avoid fighting in front of the Secret Service,” the first lady revealed.

Jill Biden also indicated Joe Biden is not uncomfortable arguing over text because “there will be a record of that.”

“Joe said, ‘You realize that’s going to go down in history. There will be a record of that,’” she told the magazine about information that is not suitable (NSFW) for work.

“I won’t tell you what I called him that time,” Mrs. Biden noted.

WATCH: Beto DOES Want to Take Your AR-15s

Texas gubernatorial candidate Beto O’Rourke (D) has leaned heavily into not just banning AR-15s and similar types of modern sporting rifles but also the confiscation of said firearms, even before the the mass shooting at Robb Elementary School in Uvalde, Texas.

During a campaign stop in San Angelo a few days before the shooting that left 19 children and two teachers dead, O’Rourke said he does not believe people who already own AR-15s should be able to keep them.

“Not only should no one be able to purchase an AR-15 or AK-47 because they’re designed to kill humans and that high impact, high velocity round will just tear up everything inside you, you’ll bleed out before we can get you back to life, but I don’t think that the people who have them right now in civilian use should be able to keep them,” O’Rourke said.
