Trump Has a Higher Approval Rating Than Obama and Bush at the Same Point in Their Presidencies; Sanders Says ‘Vast Majority’ of Supporters Will Back Biden (VIDEO)

By The Blaze. President Donald Trump enjoyed his highest Gallup approval rating on May 13. Trump’s 49% approval rating is better than four of the last six presidents at the same time during their presidencies.

Trump’s 49% presidential job approval rating in his 1,209th day in office is higher than Barack Obama’s 47% on his 1,209th day in the White House, and better than George W. Bush’s 46% on his 1,205th day in office. At the same point in their terms, Bill Clinton had a 55% approval rating, George H.W. Bush was at 40%, Ronald Reagan at 52%, and Jimmy Carter at 38%. Obama, George W. Bush, Clinton, and Reagan each won re-election.

Rasmussen found the identical results for the last two presidents at the same point in their presidencies, with Trump edging out Obama in approval ratings 49% to 47%. Rasmussen marked Trump’s high-water mark for job performance approval during his presidency at 53% on Sept. 23, 2019, and April 9, 2019. Sanders Says ‘Vast Majority’ of Supporters Will Back Biden, Despite Polling Concerns

By National Review. Senator Bernie Sanders (I., Vt.) promised that the “vast majority” of his primary supporters “will be voting for Joe Biden” in the general election, contradicting a former top aide, who warned last week that Biden was facing an uphill battle to win over Sanders supporters.

Asked by ABC’s George Stephanopoulos about the situation on Sunday, Sanders pushed back on the characterization of his supporters’ intentions, saying they understood that President Trump is the “most dangerous president in modern history.”

“What Joe is going to have to do and he’s beginning to move in that direction, is to say that those working-class people, say to those young people, say to those minorities, ‘Listen, I understand your situation,’” Sanders said. “ . . . I think they are going to reach out to our supporters and come up with an agenda that speaks to the needs of working families, of young families, of minority communities.”

States That Reopened Haven’t Seen Any Spike in New Coronavirus Cases (VIDEO)

By Newsweek. Health and Human Services Secretary Alex Azar said Sunday he has not seen any spikes in new coronavirus cases in states that recently reopened “non-essential” businesses.

The HHS chief expressed optimism that state governments have the tools to avoid new outbreaks of COVID-19, as several places including Wisconsin, South Carolina, Georgia and Colorado enter new phases of reopening local businesses. Several states have recorded record highs in the number of new daily coronavirus cases, but those numbers are in direct correlation to an increasing amount of tests being made available to residents. Newly reported deaths tied to the virus have leveled off or decreased.

During a CNN interview, host Jake Tapper said to Azar that it’s “intriguing” that some states that reopened “despite warnings of dire consequences from health experts” have — so far — not seen any dramatic spikes in new cases. “Is it still too early to tell?” he asked Azar Sunday morning.

“We are seeing that in areas that are opening, we’re not seeing the spike in cases,” Azar said. “We still see spikes in some areas that are, in fact, closed, very localized situations. And so this is going to be very important for us to watch the circumstances on the ground.” (Read more from “States That Reopened Haven’t Seen Any Spike in New Coronavirus Cases” HERE)

HHS Secretary Points to ‘Unhealthy Comorbidities’ When Asked About High Coronavirus Death Rate in U.S.

By The Hill. Health and Human Services Secretary Alex Azar on Sunday pointed to a “significantly disproportionate burden of comorbidities” when asked about the high coronavirus death rate in the U.S.

Azar said on CNN’s “State of the Union” that the U.S. has been able to manage the health care burden of the coronavirus, despite having the highest reported death rates of any country from the virus.

“Every death is a tragedy, but the results could have been vastly, vastly worse,” he said, adding that “to our knowledge” nobody in the U.S. has died because they didn’t have access to a ventilator or a bed in an intensive care unit.

Gowdy: Trump Family Unmasked During Inauguration Day Surveillance Reports… Wait, What? (VIDEO)

Unsurprisingly when Trey Gowdy said “the Trump family was unmasked on inauguration day”… interviewer Sandra Smith never paused to say: “wait, unmasked in what”?

During his tenure as House Oversight Committee Chair, apparently Trey Gowdy has seen intelligence reports showing the Trump family was unmasked on inauguration day. The logical follow-up question would be: who was generating intelligence reports on the Trump family?

Alas, the dangling participle never had the opportunity to dangle… go figure.

Follow the bouncing ball. If Gowdy is correct, and he has no vested interest in just making it up, then there was FBI domestic surveillance of the Trump family on inauguration day; which generated an intelligence report. Yet, apparently, no-one seems surprised by that… I digress. (For more from the author of “Gowdy: Trump Family Unmasked During Inauguration Day Surveillance Reports… Wait, What?” please click HERE)

WATCH: Biden Says He Doesn’t Remember Accuser, Tells Women Not to Vote for Him If They Believe Her Claims

Former Vice President Joe Biden claimed on Thursday that he does not remember Tara Reade, the former Senate staffer who came forward in March with a 1993 sexual assault allegation and suggested that those who believe her claims shouldn’t vote for him.

During an interview with MSNBC’s Lawrence O’Donnell, Biden was asked whether he remembered Reade being on his staff, a question he previously dodged earlier this month when asked by “Morning Joe” co-host Mika Brzezinski.

“Do you remember Tara Reade who worked there for about a year in 1992-1993?” O’Donnell asked.

“Well, to be honest with you, I don’t,” Biden responded. “But let me get something clear, when a woman makes a claim that she has been harassed or abused, and this claim has changed… she should be taken seriously. She should come forward, share her story, she should be taken seriously and it should be thoroughly vetted. And in every case, what matters is the truth. The truth is what matters. And the truth of the case is nothing like this ever, ever happened… I give you my word. It never, ever happened.”

Joe Biden’s New Insane Claim: Coronavirus Claimed Lives of ‘Millions of People’ (VIDEO)

By Breitbart. Joe Biden marred his facts on Thursday during a virtual roundtable with three governors supporting his campaign.

While speaking with Govs. Ned Lamont (D-CT), Phil Murphy (D-NJ), and Gretchen Whitmer (D-MI), Biden said, “We’re in the middle of a pandemic that has cost us more than 85,000 jobs as of today. Lives of millions of people, millions of people, millions of jobs.”

To date, there have been 85,066 deaths in American blamed on COVID-19, and over 1.4 million cases in the U.S., according to Reuters. There have been 300,798 deaths globally, arcgis.com reported. . .

The event kicked off awkwardly when Biden was introduced but wasn’t notified he was on camera and was supposed to begin.

New Biden Ad Claims ‘Trump Doesn’t Understand’ That His Coronavirus Missteps ‘Destroyed’ the Economy

By Yahoo News. . .Biden’s campaign released an ad Monday night pummeling Trump on all these points, and also rebutting the Trump campaign’s efforts to attack Biden on China. The long ad, “Timeline,” curates some key moments from Trump’s handling of the new coronavirus.

“April turns into May,” the narrator intones over dramatic strings. “The virus doesn’t disappear. There is no miracle. The cases mount, the death toll grows, more than 33 million Americans lose their jobs to the pandemic. Unemployment reaches Great Depression–era levels. Donald Trump doesn’t understand. We have an economic crisis because we have a public health crisis. And we have a public health crisis because he refused to act. Donald Trump didn’t build a great economy. His failure to lead destroyed one.”

WATCH: Devin Nunes Discusses Unmasking: “It’s Much Worse Than This” – the Entire Trump Transition Was Under Surveillance…

First things first: ♦Understand Obama’s Surveillance Operation HERE. ♦Michael Flynn wasn’t under a FISA (Title-1) HERE …. that’s the background.

Devin Nunes appears with Lou Dobbs to discuss the recent list of Obama-era officials who unmasked NSA intercepts of Michael Flynn talking to foreign government officials. Rep. Nunes reminds the audience that Flynn is only one person within a much larger group of Trump transition team members who were under surveillance by Team Obama.

March 27, 2017, then House Intelligence Committee Chairman, Devin Nunes, held a brief press conference and stated he was provided intelligence reports brought to him by unnamed sources including ‘significant information’ about President-Elect Trump and his transition team.

These reports included unmaskings of President Trump campaign officials; and included Donald Trump himself…. You know what that means:

1.) …”On numerous occasions the [Obama] intelligence community incidentally collected information about U.S. citizens involved in the Trump transition.”

2.) “Details about U.S. persons associated with the incoming administration; details with little or no apparent foreign intelligence value were widely disseminated in intelligence community reporting.”

3.) “Third, I have confirmed that additional names of Trump transition members were unmasked.”

4.) “Fourth and finally, I want to be clear; none of this surveillance was related to Russia, or the investigation of Russian activities, or of the Trump team.

“The House Intelligence Committee will thoroughly investigate surveillance and its subsequent dissemination, to determine a few things here that I want to read off:”

“Who was aware of it?”

“Why it was not disclosed to congress?”

“Who requested and authorized the additional unmasking?”

“Whether anyone directed the intelligence community to focus on Trump associates?”

“And whether any laws, regulations or procedures were violated?”

“I have asked the Directors of the FBI, NSA and CIA to expeditiously comply with my March 15th letter -that you all received a couple of weeks ago- and to provide a full account of these surveillance activities.”

WATCH: Inmates Are Infecting Themselves With Coronavirus to Get Early Release

Since realizing COVID-19 was underway, headed into our lives, facilities, jails, and daily operations, Sheriff Alex Villanueva directed Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department employees to take precautionary measures for everyone’s protection.

Custody is a particularly unique environment in which to take these kinds of measures. Nevertheless, with a lot of consideration, new protocols, and collaboration with medical staff, we got it done. On Monday, May 11, 2020, during one of his virtual weekly press conferences conducted at the Sherman Block Building in Monterey Park, Sheriff Alex Villanueva outlined measures used to reduce the spread of COVID-19 in our jail system.

Unfortunately, through video surveillance, it was determined a group of inmates at the Pitchess Detention Center-North County Correctional Facility deliberately attempted to infect themselves with COVID-19. Multiple men were seen sipping from a single bottle of hot water for two reasons: To falsely elevate their oral temperature moments before having their temperature taken by a nurse, and to spread the potential of infection. The bottle and a secondary cup of hot water were passed among the men inside of a day room, which is a common area next to a housing area with beds, akin to the living room of a house or apartment. There was plenty of space in which to observe physical distancing, however, the men chose to interact close to each other, making their intentions obvious.

WATCH: Senator Questions Dr. Fauci, Drops a Bomb in Senate Hearing

By PJ Media. . .The doctor in Rand Paul took over for the questioning. He began by challenging Dr. Fauci on the media narrative that there is no evidence that patients who survive coronavirus have immunity.

. . .Paul then stated that his view is that the truth is the exact opposite of the media narrative. There is very good evidence that recovered patients will have some durable immunity. And recovered workers, in industries like meatpacking, should be reassured there is a strong likelihood they will not get reinfected. He then referenced that Dr. Fauci had said publicly that he would bet it all that survivors of COVID-19 have some form of immunity and asked him to set the record straight.

Dr. Fauci responded that it is indeed likely. Then he added the standard disclaimers that we won’t know for sure and for how long for years. He did concede you could make a reasonable assumption that recovered patients have some immunity. Paul concluded saying maybe a better way to frame the issue of immunity was to say in all likelihood recovery indicates immunity for some period of time. The public needs to hear Paul’s presentation, but you can confidently bet on the fact that the media narrative won’t change. . .

He then took on the narrative that we must listen to the health experts head-on. Explicitly, he challenged the reliance on the opinion of one man, Dr. Fauci.

Really the history of this when we look back will be wrong prediction after wrong prediction after wrong prediction starting with Ferguson in England. I think we ought to have a little humility in the belief we know what’s best for the economy. As much as I respect you, Dr. Fauci, I don’t think you are the end-all. I don’t think you are the one person that gets to make a decision. We can listen to your advice, but there are people on the other side saying there is not going to be a surge and we can safely open the economy. The facts will bear this out. But if we keep kids out of school for another year, what’s going to happen is that the poor and underprivileged kids who don’t have a parent that can teach them at home are not going to learn for a year. I think we ought to look at the Swedish model. It’s a huge mistake if we don’t open schools in the fall.

Rand Paul Dings Fauci During Testimony, Tells Him ‘You Are Not the End All’

By Fox News. Sen. Rand Paul, R-Ky., clashed with Dr. Anthony Fauci on Tuesday during a Senate Health Committee hearing, telling the public health official he is not the “end all” when it comes to the coronavirus pandemic while pressing him for information about immunity for those who have beaten the disease and the possibility of schools reopening.

In one of the more tense moments of Tuesday’s hearing, Paul – the only U.S. senator to have had a confirmed case of COVID-19 – said the public health response to the pandemic has been riddled with “wrong prediction after wrong prediction” and that Fauci should not be the one making decisions on issues outside his purview. . .

Fauci, the director of the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases and one of the federal government’s most visible faces during the public health crisis, balked at Paul calling him the “end all” and said his recommendations do not extend beyond the realm of science and public health.

“I have never made myself out to be the end all,” Fauci said via videoconference from his office at the NIAID. “I’m a scientist, a physician and a public health official, I give advice, according to the best scientific evidence.” (Read more from “Rand Paul Dings Fauci During Testimony, Tells Him ‘You Are Not the End All'” HERE)

WATCH: Police Officer Suspended After Speaking out Against ‘Tyrannical’ Lockdown Enforcement

A Port of Seattle police officer has been suspended by his department, after he posted a video message on social media speaking out against law enforcement officers in the U.S. who are enforcing what he called “tyrannical orders” imposed amid coronavirus lockdowns.

Officer Greg Anderson, a Special Forces veteran, posted a video on Instagram last week directed at his fellow officers across the nation, expressing his concerns.

“I’ve seen officers nationwide enforcing tyrannical orders against the people and I’m hoping it’s the minority of officers, but I’m not sure anymore,” Anderson said. “Because every time I turn on the television, every time I look to the internet, I’m seeing people arrested or cited for going to church, for traveling on the roadways, for going surfing, opening their businesses, going to park with their families, or doing nails out of their own house—using their own house as a business and having special agents go there and arrest them.” . . .

Port of Seattle Police Chief Rod Covey confirmed Anderson’s paid suspension in a statement on the department’s website, writing, “Greg has always had the ability to express his opinions on what is going on in the country like all other Americans. However, he is not allowed to do so while on duty, wearing our uniform, wearing our badge and while driving our patrol car.”

Joe Biden on ‘Good Morning America’: Believe All Women, but Not Tara Reade

By The Blaze. Former Vice President and presidential candidate Joe Biden appeared on Tuesday’s airing of “Good Morning America,” where he said that all women’s sexual assault allegations should be believed — but then immediately pushed back against the woman who claimed he sexually assaulted her. . .

On Tuesday, Biden told ABC’s George Stephanopoulos that all women should be believed. . .

During the exchange, Stephanopoulos asked the former vice president, “[W]hat do you say to Americans who believe Tara Reade and won’t vote for you because of it?”

“Look, here,” he continued. “I think women should be believed. They should have an opportunity to have their case and state it forthrightly what their case is. Then it’s the responsibility of responsible journalists like you and everyone else to go out and investigate those. At the end of the day, the truth is the truth.” . . .

“[Truth is] what should prevail and the truth is this never happened,” he insisted. “This never happened. That’s the truth.” (Read more from “Joe Biden on ‘Good Morning America’: Believe All Women, but Not Tara Reade” HERE)

Stacey Abrams Thinks Tara Reade Is Lying About Her Joe Biden Sexual Assault Allegation

By Newsweek. Former Democratic Georgian gubernatorial candidate Stacey Abrams has said she doesn’t believe Tara Reade’s sexual assault allegations against presumptive Democratic presidential nominee and former Vice President Joe Biden.

“I believe women deserve to be heard,” Abrams told Vice on Tuesday. “I believe their allegations deserve to be vetted. They deserve to have an investigation.”

Abrams said women deserve space to describe their experiences, but added that she wouldn’t support Biden as a candidate if she believed Reade’s allegations.

“We are obliged to serve justice to those who have been wronged,” Abrams continued. “For me, if I thought that this man had done that, then I could not be in this space.” (Read more from “Stacey Abrams Thinks Tara Reade Is Lying About Her Joe Biden Sexual Assault Allegation” HERE)
